The Trump administration has approved tens of thousands of temporary amnesties for illegal immigrant Dreamers, according to numbers released Thursday that underscore a major reversal for President Trump. The decision has enraged the president’s conservative base, which hoped he would make good on his promise to revoke the policy, known in governmentspeak as DACA. But immigrant rights advocates, who were harshly critical of Mr. Trump during the campaign, said he deserves some credit for defying his right wing and keeping the program intact. “I definitely think that he does deserve credit for continuing a very successful program for young people
Comments: That doesn´t really appear to be the case here.
This is a very tough situation for Trump. Many of these young people know no other country but America and really have no other country to return to. Mr. Trump is deporting the criminals within the group.
Trump is not a God or a King. The GOP Congress could do something, but this is Friday, and they have nothing on the agenda. I wonder if the GOP has anything on the agenda next week. I know there is a week off for July 4, the August recess, so the GOP is not planning to do anything until September, if then. I think September is Labor Day, so not possible for the GOP to do anything there. Then October is Halloween. So the conservative base maybe should call their Congressman, and ask them if they ever intend to do anything.
Keep in mind that Trump was a left wing independent running as a Republican, and had to get Conservatives to vote for him to win the nomination. So he made promises that got him Conservative support. Now he is walking it back to keep the left wing happy. He is no Ronald Reagan, unfortunately.
Well, really; What else was he going to do? march in with paratroopers, assrest these kids who have never lived in another cfountry that they can remember toss them in ICE prison to wait 6 yrars for their cases to be heard? God. Get real. this mess is not going to go away just because we elected a guy who does not like it. I don´t like it. My friends don´t like it. But, it is what it is- a mess that dates all the way back to the Reagan Administration and Teddy Kennedy and the BS the Democrats played hoping to get illegals to vote for them. This is where we are now. And some of this crap is just unfixable. All we can realistically hope for is that President Trump starts to fix the problem. Dealing with the aftermath of an insane problem that has been festering for 70 (since the end of WWII) years is a whole other pack of mules.
Perhaps this is an effort to admit defeat for now but to stop further intrusion by invading forces.... nah, this is permanent damage done by Nobama that he is going to let stand.
Follow the law as written, and things will take care of themselves with proper enforcement.
There, THAT was simple.
The real question is do we have the integrity and WILL to defy the demonrats who want to breed a permanent dependent class of welfare recipients, or do we care to defy the RINO/Chamber of economic slavery constituents?
Follow the law as written and ENFORCE it.
It will anger some who have political or economic motives to continue breaking the law, but it will be better for the country.
Then workers here will not be supplanted by those taking their jobs, and there may be a chance the economy will grow instead of be burdened with higher and higher welfare "entitlements" which don´t create economic growth.....
What happens in the future? Does this become an expected reoccurring amnesty every few years, as once all the "Dreamers" (illegal aliens) are given a legal immigration status, such an action is bound to encourage an indefinite number of intending illegal aliens to bring, or have their foreign born children smuggled into the USA believing that they will eventually be granted "Dreamer" status with the entire family then being allowed to stay as is currently happening.
Today´s "Dreamers" range in age all the way up to 35 years of age, the Democrats who know the immigration game recognize and consider the vast majority of "Dreamers" to be potential future Democrat voters and are willing to promise all sorts of benefits and rights to secure the prospective over 700,000 "Dreamer"" votes that will eventually be up for grabs out of this one amnesty alone. The Republicans will never be able to out bid the Democrats on that score. There is no numerical limit as to the count of "Dreamers" who could be legalized, as that is determined by their illegal alien parents who bring or have the "Dreamers" smuggled into the USA.
Building a wall along the borderline will not stop perspective future "Dreamers" from entering the USA as most intending illegal aliens with children walk into the USA through official ports of entry as tourists with border crossing cards or temporary visas with time limits for their stay that they do not abide by and just stay on in the USA illegally. Those illegal aliens come from all over the world.
Monday on Fox News Channel’s “Special Report,” Fox News senior political analyst Brit Hume said the meeting between Donald Trump Jr. and a Russian lawyer had “the element of a farce.” Hume said, “The meeting probably went nowhere. The whole thing has the element of a farce.” He continued, “I would be more concerned if the episodes themselves, the meetings turned out to be some substantive meeting in the sense they pointed in the direction that there were some cooperation and collusion going on. So far what we’ve seen doesn’t seem to do that. And it’s not hard for me
In less than 24 hours, President Trump’s eldest son, Donald Trump Jr., has given two different explanations for a meeting he held during the 2016 campaign with a Kremlin-connected Russian lawyer who promised to provide damaging information about Hillary Clinton. Mr. Trump’s meeting with that lawyer, Natalia Veselnitskaya, was first reported by The New York Times on Saturday. In response, Mr. Trump said the meeting was brief and focused mostly on the issue of adoption. This was Mr. Trump’s statement to the news media on Saturday: It was a short introductory meeting. I asked Jared and Paul to stop by.
During the summer of 2013, Donald J. Trump mused about whether President Vladimir V. Putin of Russia would meet him at the Miss Universe pageant in Moscow that fall. “If so, will he become my new best friend?” Mr. Trump posted on Twitter. Mr. Putin did not make it, but the beauty competition in Moscow brought the Trump family into partnership with Emin Agalarov, a pop star in Russia, and his father, Aras — a duo that develops major real estate projects in Russia and appears friendly with the Kremlin. Since then, Emin Agalarov has repeatedly boasted of maintaining a warm
WASHINGTON — Before arranging a meeting with a Kremlin-connected Russian lawyer he believed would offer him compromising information about Hillary Clinton, Donald Trump Jr. was informed in an email that the material was part of a Russian government effort to aid his father’s candidacy, according to three people with knowledge of the email. The email to the younger Mr. Trump was sent by Rob Goldstone, a publicist and former British tabloid reporter who helped broker the June 2016 meeting. In a statement on Sunday, Mr. Trump acknowledged that he was interested in receiving damaging information about Mrs. Clinton, but gave no
Donald Trump Jr. was told in an email before his meeting with a Russian lawyer — whom he believed had damaging info on Hillary Clinton — that the material was part of the Kremlin’s effort to aid his father’s campaign, a report says. At least three people with knowledge of the correspondence told the New York Times that the message was sent by publicist Rob Goldstone as he helped arrange the June 2016 meeting with Natalia Veselnitskaya. Trump Jr. admitted Sunday that he was interested in getting the potentially damaging information on Clinton, but gave no indication that he was
The bold, pop-art dress First Lady Melania Trump wore for her and President Donald Trump’s recent speeches in Warsaw, Poland has officially sold out. When Melania stepped out in Warsaw to echo her husband’s nationalistic message, she was in for a whirl-wind, as the scuba-knit Delpozo dress she donned appeared to overshadow the famous world leaders in Poland that day. [photos] The sleeveless decoupage midi dress was available at luxury retailers Neiman Marcus and Bergdorf Goodman at the time Melania wore the pop-art-like dress, for upwards of roughly $3,000. Delpozo is considered one of the most
Atlanta rap trio Migos and their entourage were escorted off a Delta flight Friday night over what the group’s manager is calling a case of racial profiling. The “Bad and Boujee” rappers were headed from Atlanta to Des Moines, Iowa, for a concert before the plane returned to another gate just before departing. Delta told Variety that the group was removed from the plane for failing to follow directions from the flight crew. “Delta flight 1532 from Atlanta to Des Moines returned to the gate, prior to departure, to deplane several customers seated in the First Class cabin who repeatedly refused to
Former U.N. Ambassador John Bolton weighed in on the tension between the United States of America and North Korea Sunday on New York AM 970’s “The Cats Roundtable.” Bolton questioned the state of United States’ intelligence because it did not know about North Korea’s successful launch of an intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) July 4th, saying the “bad” North Korean intelligence could eventually mean “bad news for the United States.” “[W]e didn’t know about this missile until it was launched on the Fourth of July,” Bolton told host John Catsimatidis. “It’s a good example of how bad our intelligence is about
Despite various social tensions in his country, Morocco’s King Mohammed VI called for reform of Islam similar to the contention of Egyptian president al Sisi on New Year’s Day 2015.The pro-American Moroccan monarch said he wants to rein in the pernicious Islamic doctrine of Jihad. According to Moroccan authorities more than 1600 Moroccans have joined jihadists in Syria, Libya and Iraq and 200 to 240 of that number have returned either to Morocco or European countries. So alarming is the trend that the Kingdom has embarked on a special education program aimed at neutralizing extremist interpretations of the Koran, specifically mention
House Freedom Caucus chairman Rep. Mark Meadows (R-NC) told Breitbart News exclusively that the next government spending bill must fund President Donald Trump’s promised border wall, or there will likely be a government shutdown. In a phone interview on Monday morning, Meadows—the chairman of the most influential group of House conservatives in Congress, the House Freedom Caucus—said that there are enough members in Congress to hold the line against any funding bill that does not explicitly provide for the beginning of construction of President Trump’s border wall. What’s more, Meadows says, his conversations with President Trump indicate that
Based on “interviews with officials familiar with the documents,” The Hill is reporting that more than half of the memoranda former FBI director James Comey made regarding his conversations with president-elect and then President Trump contain classified information. The FBI, moreover, has determined that all of the memos are government documents. This will come as a surprise to no one who has been following this story on National Review. In a column on Comey’s memos a month ago, I explained that there was no doubt the memos were government documents (regardless of the former director’s suggestion that they were
On Sunday morning, President Trump, home from the G20 Summit in Germany, announced on Twitter that “it is time to move forward in working constructively with Russia!” If the president’s meeting with Vladimir Putin over the weekend is any indication, that’s good news for the Kremlin and bad news for the U.S. Trump’s first face-to-face encounter with Putin since becoming president was less an attempt to press American interests with an adversary than to gin up a diplomatic “bromance,” à la Canada’s Justin Trudeau and France’s Emmanuel Macron, or Israel’s Benjamin Netanyahu and Indian prime minister Narendra Modi.
Rep. Maxine Waters (D-Calif.) has decided to take “the gloves off” to encourage others to see President Trump´s the way she does, the House Democrat said in a New York Times profile published on Friday. “Trump was just so outrageous, so disrespectful, such a bully and dangerous for this country, I decided, ‘You know what? I’m taking the gloves off and I’m going to step out,’” Waters told the Times, explaining her bombastic rhetoric toward the president. “I was going to not only challenge him but encourage others to see him for what he is: basically a bully, an egotistical
The daughter of Donald Trump´s rival in the 2016 general election wants the president to read classical Greek stories that have been told to children for generations to teach them about morality and empathy. Chelsea Clinton tweeted a message to her 1.73 million followers Sunday morning that read: "Does anyone else think President Trump might benefit from reading Aesop´s Fables? The Cat, The Rooster & The Mouse? The Eagle and The Arrow?" It´s unclear what prompted Clinton, the only child of former President Bill Clinton and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, to write the message. Chelsea Clinton is often
Arizona Sen. John McCain "sometimes" regrets his vote for Secretary of State Rex Tillerson, especially in the wake of Tillerson floating the idea that the United States has been taking the wrong approach in Syria. McCain said on CBS Sunday said his vote in favor of Tillerson pains him on occasion, and comments Tillerson said made about the conflicting plans of the United States and Russia in Syria, which McCain saw as kowtowing to the Kremlin, are troubling. "Sometimes I do," McCain said when asked if he regrets voting for Tillerson. "But, I´m still torn by the fact that the American
CNN White House correspondent Jeff Zeleny described President Donald Trump´s address in Poland last week as a "White America, America First kind of speech" during a panel discussion Sunday morning. Trump´s speech in Warsaw last Thursday focused on themes of the collective inheritance and protection of Western civilization. This, Zeleny said, was not the kind of speech Trump could have delivered in the U.S., although he said it was one of his best speeches in terms of staying on a focused theme. "This is not a speech he could have given really any place else. This is a white America,
Sunday on MSNBC, former Democratic National Committee chairman Howard Dean said The New York Times report that in June 2016 Donald Trump Jr., then-campaign chair Paul Manafort and Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner met with a Russian lawyer linked with the Kremlin meant we have “a criminal enterprise running this country now.” Dean said, “I think at this point, Trump is Trump. He’s going to lie. He’s going to do all these things he does. And the real savior for democracy is going to be Robert Mueller. He’s going to find out the truth. We’re never going to get the truth out
Chelsea Clinton was spotted out in the Hamptons over the weekend, enjoying a weekend away with her husband Marc Mezvinsky. The pair were spotted out to dinner on Friday night in Amagansett and then out again the following morning as they went to grab coffee with a friend. Chelsea, 37, was taking a break after promoting her bestselling book ´She Persisted´ for the past month. Her husband, 39, does not currently have a job, so was taking a break from his days of taking a break in New York City. Chelsea kept off social media during her trip out to
There was more of the same old, same old California news recently. Some 62% of state roads have been rated poor or mediocre. There were more predictions of huge cost overruns and yearly losses on high-speed rail -- before the first mile of track has been laid. One-third of Bay Area residents were polled as hoping to leave the area soon. Such pessimism is daily fare, and for good reason. The basket of California state taxes -- sales, income and gasoline -- rates among the highest in the U.S. Yet California roads and K-12 education rank near the bottom. After years of drought,
More than half of the memos created by former FBI Director James Comey of his private conversations with President Trump have been found to contain classified information, according to a new report. Four of seven memos Comey created had markings making clear they contained information classified at the “secret” or “confidential” level, officials directly familiar with the matter told The Hill. The revelation that four of the seven memos included some sort of classified information “opens a new door of inquiry into whether classified information was mishandled, improperly stored or improperly shared,” it said. “This revelation raises the possibility that
President Trump’s eldest son, Donald Trump Jr., was promised damaging information about Hillary Clinton before agreeing to meet with a Kremlin-connected Russian lawyer during the 2016 campaign, according to three advisers to the White House briefed on the meeting and two others with knowledge of it. The meeting was also attended by his campaign chairman at the time, Paul J. Manafort, and his son-in-law, Jared Kushner. Mr. Manafort and Mr. Kushner only recently disclosed the meeting, though not its content, in confidential government documents described to The New York Times. The Times reported the existence of the meeting on Saturday.
t’s easy to see why Sarah Huckabee Sanders wants the TV cameras off during her White House news briefings. There is, for one, the matter of her boss constantly proclaiming things that range from the inexplicable to the patently wrong. There’s also the metastasizing Russia scandal, which keeps rendering previous Trump White House statements inoperative, as Richard Nixon press secretary Ron Ziegler used to say. But above all is a more simple explanation: Sanders has no earthly idea what’s going on in the White House she purports to represent. And so, at Monday’s off-camera briefing, she stood on the podium,
New York Times veteran Op-Ed columnist Charles Blow is not prepared to give Donald Trump an inch. The Grey Lady’s most vocal and consistent anti-Trump author drew fresh blood in his latest Monday Op-Ed. In “Putin Meets His Progeny,” Blow said he couldn’t be sure what to make of the Trump-Putin meeting at the G20 and that differing accounts between the two sides were hard to parse given their mutual lack of credibility. Blow began the piece by reminding readers that in the past Trump has claimed to have a great relationship with Putin… and also to have never met
After President Donald Trump responded to criticism of his daughter Ivanka Trump sitting in on a meeting at last week´s G-20 summit by tweeting about Hillary and Chelsea Clinton, the former first daughter tweeted a reply of her own on Twitter Monday morning. President Trump wrote that if Chelsea Clinton had been "asked to hold the seat for her mother, as her mother gave our country away, the Fake News would say Chelsea For Pres!" The president was referring to the attention given to Ivanka Trump´s presence alongside G-20 leaders when she occupied his seat after he left for bilateral meetings. (Tweet) In response, Chelsea Clinton
