Six years late, we have new insight into the government’s secretive Fast and Furious operation in which federal agents purposely let thousands of assault rifles and other weapons be trafficked from the U.S. to Mexican drug cartels, where they were used in many murders and other crimes. A new House Oversight Committee report contains Department of Justice emails that the government improperly withheld from Congress and reporters. The report was released Wednesday as the Oversight Committee held a little publicized hearing on still unanswered questions six years after the investigations began. Below are excerpts from the Congressional report that give
Comments: A very long and painstakingly documented report by Sharyl Attkisson proving that her original reports of the withholding of information and deception by the DOJ and others were factual.
The sheer volume of documented efforts to subvert Congressional oversight are breathtaking. Watching them at work, it´s clear thee Republicans efforts at truth-seeking are far outmatched by the diabolical planning of the Left.
What on earth does "we have intell on MCain?" mean?
Thank you Sharyl, there are still one or two honest reporters out tee. I also caught the "intell on McCain" statement....says a lot, doesn´t it. Imagine what would be uncovered about him is not pretty...perhaps explains his anti-Trump Senate committee antics. Blackmail?
Letting the left intentionally misdefine terms is giving away a chunk of the battle without a fight. Illegal aliens are not ´undocumented immigrants´, and semiautomatic military styled rifles are not ´assault rifles´.
Ms. Attkisson is generally an exceptionally good and honest reporter but is guilty here of repeating the antigunner´s lie of calling a semiautomatic civilian rifle an "assault rifle".
Assault rifle is a specific military technical term, and it means a fully automatic rifle - a machine gun. None of the rifles released were machine guns.
Words mean things and calling an Indy Pace car Camaro an "Indianapolis race car" is similarly inaccurate.
In the case of the misused term "assault rifle", it is intended to confuse the unfamiliar person, as part of a carefully planned PR strategy, into thinking a legal self loading rifle which fires one shot each time you pull the trigger, like a revolver, with a machine gun. This intended confusion has the intent of instilling fear and revulsion in military styled rifles for political reasons. I doubt that Ms. Attkisson has this intent to confuse, but she is inaccurate and needs to correct this point.
Once upon a time, brothers-in-law William Procter and James Gamble sold candles and soap. Their 19th-century family business grew into the largest consumer goods conglomerate in the world -- launching the most recognizable brands on our grocery shelves, including Tide, Pampers, Crest, Nyquil and Old Spice. Now, Procter & Gamble want to conquer a new market: identity-politics pandering. Industry marketers aren´t satisfied with selling useful products people want and need. They´re hell-bent on transforming successful businesses into social justice busybodies. P&G´s "My Black is Beautiful" campaign released a new video last week called, "The Talk." It "depicts the inevitable conversations many Black parents
Trannies remind me of libertarians. To be more precise, the thing I find most objectionable about trannies is also the thing I find most objectionable about the hardcore, uncompromising “no government” anarcho-voluntaryist libertarian types. These “get rid of government” crusaders spend every moment of their lives hectoring nonbelievers like me, trying to make us acquiesce to their vision of a world without the state. What cheeses me off is, if you want to be free, if you want to live “off grid” without government, if you want to grow your own food and barter hens and nanny goats for potatoes
Lots of talk about language this week. Anthony Scaramucci, the ousted pick for White House communications director, was removed, apparently, for a variety of reasons, the most public being a vulgarity-laced conversation with a reporter. When the writer from The New Yorker first made public the “colorful” comments that Mr. Scaramucci thought were off the record, it was fascinating to watch pretty much everyone from the establishment rush to their fainting couch. This from the same sort of know-it-alls that were bragging about lying to the American people about Obamacare, with Jonathan Gruber speaking publicly about the “stupidity” of the American voter.
It´s "Made In America" week in Washington, D.C. You´d think this would be cause for bipartisan celebration. Who could be against highlighting the ingenuity, self-reliance and success of our nation´s homegrown entrepreneurs and manufacturers? Enter Bill Kristol. The entrenched Beltway pundit ridiculed a festive kickoff event on Monday at the White House, where President Donald Trump hosted companies from all 50 states to showcased their American-made products. "Maybe it´s just me," killjoy Kristol tweeted, "but I find something off-putting about turning the White House into an exhibition hall for American tchotchkes." (That´s the Yiddish word for useless trinkets). "Tchotchkes"? Tell
NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - The third and fourth suspects in a violent attack on two tourists in the French Quarter are in custody. Rashaad Piper, 20, was booked into the Orleans Parish Jail around 4 a.m. Wednesday. Nicholas Pogozelski, 18, was also taken into custody shortly after 6 a.m. Wednesday and also booked on a charge of second-degree robbery. Piper is charged with second-degree robbery in connection with a violent Saturday night attack on two tourists in the 200 block of Bienville Street. Pogozelski´s mother spoke to the media for the first time Wednesday. She said her son was a
Of CNN’s millions of followers on their verified Twitter account, over 17 million or 48 percent are fake, according to TwitterAudit. According to TwitterAudit, the site determines the quality and score of real and fake followers by taking “a sample of up to 5000 (or more, if you subscribe to Pro) Twitter followers for a user and calculates a score for each follower. This score is based on number of tweets, date of the last tweet, and ratio of followers to friends.” TwitterAudit states that these results are not definitive but do provide insight into whether or not a Twitter
When Nabra Hassanen was killed by Darwin Martinez Torres, the media rushed to blame Islamophobia and Trump. The truth was simpler. It was the left’s own Illegalophilia that killed the Muslim teenager. Torres, an illegal alien from El Salvador, had no interest in Hassanen’s religion. He got into an altercation with her friends. Hassanen happened to be the one he caught when her friends left her behind. The murder happened in Fairfax County. Earlier this year, Fairfax County Chief of Police Ed Roessler had assured illegal aliens that they had nothing to worry about. The police were not going to do anything about
CINCINNATI -- Otto Warmbier has died, University of Cincinnati Medical Center announced Monday. Warmbier died at 2:20 p.m. Monday, days after he was released from North Korea. Check back for more on this breaking story.
The United States is currently the world’s oldest democracy. But America is no more immune from collapse than were some of history’s most stable and impressive consensual governments. Fifth-century Athens, Republican Rome, Renaissance Florence and Venice, and many of the elected governments of early 20th-century Western European states eventually destroyed themselves, went bankrupt, or were overrun by invaders. The United States is dividing as rarely before. Half the country, mostly liberal America, is concentrated in 146 of the nation’s more than 3,000 counties — in an area that collectively represents less than 10 percent of the U.S. land mass. The
James T. Hodgkinson, the shooter who opened fire on dozens of Republican congressmen and staffers at a baseball practice in Alexandria, Virginia, on Wednesday, had a list of Republican names in his pocket that was recovered by the FBI, The Daily Caller has learned. The news that the shooter had a list of names suggests the shooting was not a random outburst, but instead appears to be a premeditated political assassination. The list was written out on notepad paper and found in the shooter’s pocket, according to multiple sources with intimate knowledge of the situation, who spoke on condition of anonymity, citing
WASHINGTON — Congress approved long-sought legislation Tuesday to make firing employees easier for the Department of Veterans Affairs, part of an effort urged by President Donald Trump to fix a struggling agency serving millions of veterans. The House cleared the bill, 368-55, replacing an earlier version that Democrats had criticized as overly unfair to workers. The Senate passed the bipartisan legislation by voice vote last week. It will go to Trump later this week for his signature. The measure comes after a 2014 scandal at the Phoenix VA medical center, where some veterans died while waiting months for appointments. During the presidential
Barack Obama, who was responsible for the nation’s security, insisted that military spending be included in the “sequester” that automatically cut government spending. Testifying before Congress Monday evening, Secretary of Defense Mattis said “the damage has been severe” to our military as a result No enemy in the filed has done more to harm to combat readiness of our military than sequestration. We have only sustained our ability to meet American’s commitments abroad because our troops have stoically shouldred a much greater burden. Another gift by our leftist president to our fighting men and women, and our nation.
Failed presidential candidate and former first lady Hillary Clinton now has some interest in becoming a Methodist preacher, according to The Atlantic. Clinton’s pastor Bill Shillady told The Atlantic that Clinton had expressed interest in preaching when he saw her at a photo shoot for his book Strong for a Moment Like This for which Clinton has written the foreward. The book features daily devotionals he sent her during the 2016 campaign. “Clinton is lifting up an intimate, closely guarded part of herself,” Emma Green writes. “There are no more voters left to lose.
Hillary Clinton´s pastoral adviser urged her to keep her head up following her unexpected Election Day loss in November and compared the election to Good Friday, the day Jesus was crucified. "It is Friday, but Sunday is coming ... This is not the devotional you wish to receive this day. While Good Friday may be the starkest representation of a Friday that we have, life is filled with a lot of Fridays," wrote United Methodist City Society Executive Director the Rev. Bill Shillady in an email to Clinton obtained by CNN. "Friday is the day that it all falls apart and
Since being released from prison in one of Obama´s final acts as president, she´s assumed a low-key life as an independent woman in New York City. But it seems Chelsea Manning is eager to share some parts of her new normal. Wearing just a scarlet swimsuit and delicate necklace, the 29-year-old is seen in a Vogue photoshoot this month that is reminiscent of Caitlyn Jenner´s famous Vanity Fair coming-out cover. With her blonde hair cut in to a pixie crop and sporting minimal make-up, she beamed for photographer Annie Lebowitz´s camera on a deserted East Coast beach. Raising her hands
Judge Andrew Napolitano said the FBI´s raid on the home of former Trump campaign manager Paul Manafort is a significant development. The raid occurred July 26 in Virginia and was confirmed to Fox News today by a spokesman for Manafort. (Snip) Agents hauled away documents and other materials. Napolitano said on "Outnumbered" that to obtain the search warrant, agents would have had to persuade a judge that there was "probable cause of crime in the place to be searched." Napolitano said the raid indicates the FBI did not trust that Manafort would preserve the materials they intended to find. "That is very damning
Former President Barack Obama’s National Security adviser, Susan Rice, wants President Donald Trump to accept North Korea as a nuclear power. “History shows that we can, if we must, tolerate nuclear weapons in North Korea — the same way we tolerated the far greater threat of thousands of Soviet nuclear weapons during the Cold War,” she wrote in a New York Times op-ed, criticizing the president’s “fire and fury” rhetoric in response to the escalating tensions between the two countries. Rice urged Gen. John Kelly, White House chief of staff, to stop Trump, and she pointedly attacked Dr. Sebastian Gorka,
Several teenagers who were involved in a deadly crash after stealing two cars had a whopping 126 arrests between the six of them. Keontae Brown, 16, Jimmie Goshey, 14, and Dejarae Thomas, 16, died after allegedly racing a stolen car through a red light going 100mph and smashed into another car. Keontae Brown´s younger brother Keondrae, 14, was also in the car but survived after the vehicle was launched into the air before bursting into flames in Palm Harbor, Florida on Sunday morning. They were allegedly playing a ´cat-and-mouse´ game with Kamal Campbell, 18, and Deyon Kaigler, 16, who were
There are two possible rationales: the legitimate one and the brass-knuckles one. Here’s the thing to bear in mind about the Washington Post’s report that Special Counsel Robert Mueller had the FBI execute a search warrant against former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort in late July: Prosecutors don’t do pre-dawn raids on the home of a cooperating witness. Manafort has publicly projected cooperation. Of course, we can’t know how cooperative he has actually been. The public has been kept in the dark about what is being investigated, and Mueller and the congressional committees are doing most of their work behind
MARTHA’S VINEYARD, Mass.—Jamaicans and other foreign workers have long powered the summer economy in the upscale tourist haven of Martha’s Vineyard, cleaning hotel rooms, waiting tables and mixing fudge. This year, many local businesses had to come up with a Plan B. Facing a shortage of foreign laborers, local restaurants have reduced hours of operation and pared back menus. Managers are cleaning hotel rooms, laundry is piling up and at least one restaurant is using disposable cups to ease the dishwashers’ load. The problem is a scarcity of the H-2B visas used to bring foreign seasonal workers to the U.S.
Worried by the Trump administration’s delay in announcing a military strategy for the war in Afghanistan, Sen. John McCain said Thursday he’ll try to force the debate on Capitol Hill, offering his own plan that would force a troop increase. The Arizona Republican, who is also chairman of the Armed Services Committee, didn’t lay out a number in the legislation but said more U.S. counterterrorism forces should be deployed, and given independent authority to strike targets of the Taliban, al Qaeda or other terrorist groups. Mr. McCain also said the U.S should secure a long-term agreement with Afghanistan for an
A Virginia high school sent a disturbing letter to parents and students announcing they would be selecting students for Advanced Placement and honors classes at least partly based on skin color, a concerned parent told Fox News. Martin Luther King, Jr. must be turning over in his grave. A parent forwarded me a copy of the letter sent from John Handley High School in Winchester. “Through our collective work, advanced classes such as AP and Honors will have proportional representation,” read the letter. “Proportional representation is 40% White, 35% Hispanic, 12% African American, 10% mixed race.” The letter went on to explain that
Mohammed Abed, a California State University, Los Angeles (CSULA) tenure-track professor of ethics, social & political philosophy, and classical Islamic philosophy believes that genocide of white racists is “morally required”. Mohammed Abed claims that sometimes you just have to commit genocide to save the world from the evil people…like white racists. (Photo) David Cole broke down Abed’s academic paper “The Concept of Genocide Reconsidered” which was originally published in 2006. Cole says in a Taki’s Mag post: Abed reasons, it’s sometimes “morally required” to commit genocide, and he hasn’t been shy about advancing that argument in a series of lectures
Democrats are threatening to shutter many government agencies on October 1 unless President Donald Trump gives up his popular campaign promise to build the border wall against Mexico, according to Politico. In response, Trump’s deputies are offering political compromises to Democrats, including a rise in domestic spending, says Politico: The White House is pushing a deal on Capitol Hill to head off a government shutdown that would lift strict spending caps long opposed by Democrats in exchange for money for President Donald Trump’s border wall with Mexico, multiple sources said. Marc Short, the White House’s director of legislative affairs, met
