Shocker: Study Shows Physically

In news that will surprise absolutely no one, a new study reveals that girly men are more likely to favor socialist policies. The study, conducted by researchers at Brunel University London, looked at the height, weight, physical strength, and bicep circumference of 171 men, along with their views on wealth redistribution and income inequality. The study, published in the Evolution and Human Behavior journal, found that weaker men were more likely to favor socialist policies than stronger men. Images of Harry Reid and his “weightlifting” mishap come immediately to mind. One of the study’s researchers, Michael Price, said it’s all about the

The real problem we must eventually address as a nation is this:
Both sides, progressive and conservative, are pointing to this same study and saying, "SEE! That proves we´re right!"

Politics has become civil war because our presuppositions are antithetical and incongruous.

The United States is currently the world’s oldest democracy. But America is no more immune from collapse than were some of history’s most stable and impressive consensual governments. Fifth-century Athens, Republican Rome, Renaissance Florence and Venice, and many of the elected governments of early 20th-century Western European states eventually destroyed themselves, went bankrupt, or were overrun by invaders. The United States is dividing as rarely before. Half the country, mostly liberal America, is concentrated in 146 of the nation’s more than 3,000 counties — in an area that collectively represents less than 10 percent of the U.S. land mass. The news that the shooter had a list of names suggests the shooting was not a random outburst, but instead appears to be a premeditated political assassination. The list was written out on notepad paper and found in the shooter’s pocket, according to multiple sources with intimate knowledge of the situation, who spoke on condition of anonymity, citing

WASHINGTON — Congress approved long-sought legislation Tuesday to make firing employees easier for the Department of Veterans Affairs, part of an effort urged by President Donald Trump to fix a struggling agency serving millions of veterans. The House cleared the bill, 368-55, replacing an earlier version that Democrats had criticized as overly unfair to workers. The Senate passed the bipartisan legislation by voice vote last week. It will go to Trump later this week for his signature. The measure comes after a 2014 scandal at the Phoenix VA medical center, where some veterans died while waiting months for appointments. On Tuesday, Attorney General Jeff Sessions testified before the Senate Intelligence Committee over allegations of collusion with Russia. It was an accusation he called a “detestable lie.” But in the face of those allegations, Sessions said he was more determined than ever to continue the mission he swore to uphold. “The innuendos, the leaks you can be sure will not intimidate me,” Sessions said. “In fact, these events have only strengthened my resolve to fulfill my duty to reduce crime, to support our federal, state, and local law enforcement officers who work on our streets every day.” The attorney general said his

After learning that an actor dressed to look just like his father gets brutally murdered on stage in a production of William Shakespeare’s Julius Caesar, Donald Trump, Jr. asked, “I wonder how much of this ´art´ is funded by taxpayers?" Well, thanks to some digging by Adam Andrzejewski, founder of the federal watchdog OpenTheBooks.com, we now know the answer: Data at OpenTheBooks.com shows that over $4.1 million in federal, state and city grants funded the New York Shakespeare Festival (NYSF) – the parent company to Public Theater and its production, Shakespeare in the Park – over the past three years.

I know a number of government officials and employees who like and respect former FBI Director James Comey. Much has been written about how damaging his Thursday testimony was for President Trump. It’s easy to find articles such as these on NBC, in the Washington Post and in The Atlantic. The fact that Comey was willing to give testimony that sometimes reflected poorly on his own behavior doesn’t necessarily mean he told the truth on all matters, but seems to weigh in his favor on the honesty scale. The following is a compilation of some of my questions, comments and observations

Six years late, we have new insight into the government’s secretive Fast and Furious operation in which federal agents purposely let thousands of assault rifles and other weapons be trafficked from the U.S. to Mexican drug cartels, where they were used in many murders and other crimes. A new House Oversight Committee report contains Department of Justice emails that the government improperly withheld from Congress and reporters. The report was released Wednesday as the Oversight Committee held a little publicized hearing on still unanswered questions six years after the investigations began. Democrats pulled out all stops in their effort to show that the #Resistance isn’t just about marches and slogans and insulting the president, but also about flipping the House in 2018. They cast the race as a referendum on Donald Trump, and a bellwether for 2018. Republicans will be elated with the outcome, and hopeful

Jon Ossoff was on a trajectory to defeat Karen Handel narrowly, poised to deliver a humiliating blow to the White House in a race billed as a referendum of Donald Trump’s early months in office. Then the Republican voters in Georgia’s 6th Congressional District unexpectedly showed up in droves. Pollsters say sky-high turnout drove Handel, the GOP nominee, to a nearly 4-point victory on Tuesday, despite most pre-election surveys showing Ossoff with a small-but-shrinking lead. Mathematically, a 4-point loss for a Democratic House candidate in a district that has traditionally elected Republicans by wide margins is an encouraging result for

Republican Karen Handel has defeated her upstart Democratic challenger in a Georgia runoff election. Handel, an experienced politician and former Secretary of State for Georgia, emerged on Tuesday night with a narrow win over 30-year-old Jon Ossoff. Incomplete returns show she is on track to receive about 53 per cent of the vote.
