Dershowitz Says Special
Counsel Will Help Trump:
´He´s Going to Find No Crime´

Fox News, by Staff

Original Article

Posted By:KarenJ1, 5/19/2017 10:34:16 PM

Although many on the left have expressed their approval of Robert Mueller being appointed as special counsel to investigate possible collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia, Alan Dershowitz thinks Mueller could actually vindicate President Donald Trump, rather than bring about his downfall. On "Tucker Carlson Tonight," Dershowitz, a legal scholar and Harvard University Law School professor, said he doesn´t see a crime that necessitated the appointment of a special counsel. He explained that it would not be criminal, even if it happened, for the Trump campaign to have collaborated with the Russians in an effort to get their candidate

Comments:
This was an excellent segment that every Republican in congress should see. I have never been a particular fan of Dershowitz going back to the days of OJ Simpson. That said, that short segment he gave concise information as to why a special counsel should never have been appointed and summarized the outrageousness of it all. I just can´t believe that Jeff Sessions would allow such a thing to happen because a crime had not taken place. Mark Levin has said the same thing.

So the Democrats have talked the stupid Republicans into appointing a special prosecutor to prosecute them for no crime? Only the Republicans would agree to this absurdity.

Agreed.

There is nothing there against Trump. Perhaps some minor stuff with Flynn and Manafort, perhaps.

Perhaps Trump is using the Dhim´s call for a special counsel to give them what they asked for; an investigation into Russian involvement during the election. I propose Trump will use this to trap Clinton, and hopefully Ozero.

Patience Trumpers, asymmetrical political warfare is "complicated business, folks, complicated business."

Agree with #4. PDT and Sessions are playing rope-a-dope with the left. Wait for it - once the investigation starts getting close to Illary and Smidgen, the demonrats will start screeching that it´s all too expensive and needs to be ended.

I have never liked Dershowitz since I read his early book where he details, inter alia, his defense of Ron Jeremy, the porn actor.

Former presidential nominee Hillary Clinton came out swinging in a tweet Friday, saying if Senate Republicans pass their current healthcare bill, they will become the “death party.” Clinton’s post referenced an article from the Center for American Progress, an independent nonpartisan policy institute, which cited Harvard researchers as saying “the Senate bill could result in 18,000 to 28,000 deaths in 2026.” (Snip) The tweet from Clinton follows an earlier tweet urging her supporters to "speak out against" the bill.

Former President Obama’s foreign policy adviser and speechwriter Ben Rhodes implied Fox News was state-sanctioned media on Friday. “Avoiding on camera questions from independent media and favoring a state-sanctioned outlet would be cause for concern in any country,” Rhodes said in a tweet, linking to another tweet about White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer´s interview with the network. (Snip) Rhodes comment comes as the White House takes criticism for refusing to hold on-camera press briefings. Further illustrating the blatant collusion between the Democratic Party and the news media, MSNBC’s Hardball host Chris Matthews and Democratic Senator Richard Blumenthal (Conn.) spent Wednesday night predicting that history will look back on the Trump era and conclude the liberal media were “the heroes” who stood for decency and truth. Matthews swooned to Jeremy Peters of The New York Times that “one thing that is important from your end from The New York Times and the other great papers of the country is the public knew” nothing about the supposed Russia-Trump team ties since the Trump administration wouldn’t admit

A man fishing in British Columbia Friday managed to capture a slow-motion video of an eagle swooping down and taking the bait he was about to use to catch fish. Ashton Phillips was trying to take a picture of the bald eagle circling his boat, but instead of getting a great picture, he watched as it took away with salmon. “I saw this one eagle kind of circling and it was along the shoreline, so I took out my camera to snap a picture of it,” said Phillips. “All of a sudden out of nowhere, it started heading toward the

The end of the Supreme Court term looms, and with it the prospect — the terrifying prospect — of a retirement. Specifically, the retirement of Justice Anthony M. Kennedy, who will turn 81 next month and is the longest-serving current justice, named to the high court almost 30 years ago. So if Kennedy is inclined to retire, it is hard to begrudge him that choice. But his departure would be terrible for the court and terrible for the country. It could not come at a worse time. Any court vacancy these days, under a president of either party, triggers a battle

The deadly collision between a U.S. destroyer and a container ship June 17 took place while the freighter was on autopilot, according to Navy officials. The Philippines-flagged cargo ship ACX Crystal was under control of a computerized navigation system that was steering and guiding the container vessel, according to officials familiar with preliminary results of an ongoing Navy investigation. Investigators so far found no evidence the collision was deliberate. Nevertheless, an accident during computerized navigation raises the possibility the container ship´s computer system could have been hacked and the ship deliberately steered into the USS Fitzgerald, an Arleigh Burke-class guided missile destroyer. Sent by courier from the CIA, it carried “eyes only” instructions that its contents be shown to just four people: President Barack Obama and three senior aides. Inside was an intelligence bombshell, a report drawn from sourcing deep inside the Russian government that detailed Russian President Vladimir Putin’s direct involvement in a cyber campaign to disrupt and discredit the U.S. presidential race. But it went further. The intelligence captured Putin’s specific instructions on the operation’s audacious objectives — defeat or at least damage the Democratic nominee,

Or, I should say, “14 lawyers and counting.” According to the press spokesman for special counsel Robert Mueller—yeah, he’s got a press spokesman, too—there are “several more in the pipeline.” Concededly, none of Mueller’s recruits requires Senate confirmation, as do Justice Department officials—notwithstanding that the former may end up playing a far more consequential role in the fate of the Trump administration. But does it seem strange to anyone else that, by comparison,
