Paul Ryan: ´I’ve never seen anything

Politico, by Louis Nelson

House Speaker Paul Ryan said Friday that he’s “never seen anything like” the leaked recording on which House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy can be heard saying, supposedly jokingly, that he believed Russian President Vladimir Putin was paying then-GOP candidate Donald Trump and Rep. Dana Rohrabacher. In a story datelined from Kiev, Ukraine, The Washington Post reported on Wednesday that McCarthy could be heard on a recording of a meeting from last summer saying “there’s two people I think Putin pays: Rohrabacher and Trump” and punctuating his remark amid laughter from his GOP colleagues by adding “swear to God.” Ryan quickly

So McCarthy was joking but turns out the real jokester is McMuffin, allegedly.

Kevin McCarthy is one of the stupidest people I have ever seen swimming in the Washington cesspool. He´s right up there with Nancy Pelosi, Patty Murray, Susan Collins. Dumber than a box of rocks does not begin to describe his lack of intelligence. Does the Califorina GOP require a lobotomy before running for office from that state? No wonder the CA GOP is extinct. They´re Neanderthals

Looks like Ryan & McCarthy get on the subpoena calendar for the Russian SnipeHunt. Hope they can indict them on obstruction or some other ´ethics violation´ to get them out of the way. Knife cuts both ways boys.

I´ve never seen anything like the Congressional Republicans since Trump won the nomination and the election.

I have never been a Trumpista. I voted for him and am willing to allow him time despite what I consider unforced errors and missteps. I support the fact that America chose him.

The Congressional Republicans are now dead to me. The whole bunch is disgraceful connivers.

The Antithesis of Obstruction

The “collusion” narrative was a fraud, plain and simple. We know that now. Hopefully, it won’t take another six months to grasp a second plain and simple truth: Collusion’s successor, the “obstruction” narrative, is a perversion. The Left loves narrative. The ever-expanding story manipulates time, space, and detail to fit a thematic framework. Political narrative has some surface appeal, but it is deeply flawed. It obscures plain and simple truth. So let’s stick with the plain and simple: The essence of obstruction is to frustrate the search for truth. Its antithesis is to demand the exposure of fraud. Donald Trump’s

The head of the CIA on Saturday pushed back on accusations the U.S. is not doing enough regarding Russia’s attempts to interfere in elections. CIA Director Mike Pomepo [sic] also said President Trump is an “avid consumer” of intelligence reports. “I cannot imagine a statement that is any more false than one that would attribute President Trump of not being interested in the intelligence community. He is an avid consumer of the products the CIA provides,” Pompeo said in an interview with Hugh Hewitt that aired Saturday on MSNBC. “I’m with the president nearly every day,” Pompeo said. Dems push leaders to talk

Frustrated Democrats hoping to elevate their election fortunes have a resounding message for party leaders: Stop talking so much about Russia. Democratic leaders have been beating the drum this year over the ongoing probes into the Trump administration’s potential ties to Moscow, taking every opportunity to highlight the saga and forcing floor votes designed to uncover any business dealings the president might have with Russian figures. But rank-and-file Democrats say the Russia-Trump narrative is simply a non-issue with district voters, who are much more worried about bread-and-butter economic concerns like jobs, wages and the cost of

Remarkably, for Nancy Pelosi, yes. By juxtaposing the relatively narrow margins of defeat in four 2017 special elections with earlier blowouts in

Oslo — On January 9, 2009, Grace Gao woke up with a strange feeling. She sensed that someone was going on a long journey. Yet no one in the apartment was packing. Everything was normal — as normal as it ever was. Her dad was holding her brother tightly, however. Then he held her and her mom tightly. So she knew: It was they — mother, daughter, and son — who were going on a long journey. On that day, they escaped China. First they went by motorbike. Then they hid in the luggage hold of a bus. Under the program — the Trump administration’s latest move in prioritizing a reduction in violent crime — advisers and consultants will help local law enforcement officials develop strategies to combat violent crime. The cities will not receive funding as part of the initiative, a Justice Department spokesman said. “We will make America and every American neighborhood safe again,” Mr. Sessions said, announcing the partnerships at the start of a

Don’t get me wrong, I certainly think you can make the case that some members of the self-styled left-wing “resistance” are indeed out of their gourds. The end of the Supreme Court term looms, and with it the prospect — the terrifying prospect — of a retirement. Specifically, the retirement of Justice Anthony M. Kennedy, who will turn 81 next month and is the longest-serving current justice, named to the high court almost 30 years ago. So if Kennedy is inclined to retire, it is hard to begrudge him that choice. But his departure would be terrible for the court and terrible for the country. It could not come at a worse time. Any court vacancy these days, under a president of either party, triggers a battle

The deadly collision between a U.S. destroyer and a container ship June 17 took place while the freighter was on autopilot, according to Navy officials. The Philippines-flagged cargo ship ACX Crystal was under control of a computerized navigation system that was steering and guiding the container vessel, according to officials familiar with preliminary results of an ongoing Navy investigation. Investigators so far found no evidence the collision was deliberate. Nevertheless, an accident during computerized navigation raises the possibility the container ship´s computer system could have been hacked and the ship deliberately steered into the USS Fitzgerald, an Arleigh Burke-class guided missile destroyer.
