Bob Beckel Fired by Fox News
for ‘Making Insensitive Remark
to an African-American’ Staffer

Mediaite, by Colby Hall

Well that didn’t last long. Bob Beckel has been fired by Fox News just shortly after returning to air. Beckel, who played the part of the Washington Generals “token liberal” on The Five left the network in mid 2015, but recently came back just as his show moved to a coveted prime time slot at 9PM. Ratings for the new prime time line up have not been great since moving from the 5PM slot, as last week MSNBC enjoy According to Brian Steinberg, writing for Variety: “Bob Beckel was terminated today for making an insensitive remark to an African-American employee,”

Comments:
Excellent! Now they can get rid of Geraldo, Juan, Shemp, Harf, Emanuel, et al. Good riddance to bad rubbish. That still won´t help The Five. Perino´s constant attacks on Watters is beyond irritating.

I nominiate OP to be head of Fox News. And I totally agree about Dana Purina.

Beckel was intolerable. Juan Williams is merely insufferable.

But to be honest, I can´t really judge since as soon as The Shrive comes on after Tucker I flip the channel asap.

´´Juan Williams is soon to get more air time on The Five or a new left-of-center commenter is about to get a new job. ´´ Like we need more of that idiot. And Dana PeRINO has got to go...go to CNN, bsnbc, etc. She has been a real pain and a detractor along with Kat Whatshername. Those two are AWFUL and don´t watch when they are on.

Good riddance to Bechel. He was rude, crude,
disgusting distasteful, acting as though was in a run-down bar all boozed up. OFFENSIVE!
FOX has got to grow up and leave this socialist crowd behind them or they will be kicked to the curb very soon.

Cut the cable last year when Fox showed sure signs it was heading left, but was traveling and had it on in the hotel for all of three minutes until I heard his voice, looked at the T.V. and then promptly turned it off. Best decision I made was cutting the cable......do it folks....if your just hanging in there for Hannity, Tucker and a few more your only avoiding the inevitable. Don´t be the last person to exit the building.

Not sure I´m buying it. The black employee has the same attorneys that are representing a dozen other black employees against Fox. The attorneys also say the supervisor tried to intimidate the black employee into dropping his charges.

Can see Beckel losing his cool. He is fighting his own personal demons. Nothing in the article saying Beckel admitted to doing anything inappropriate. Is there any proof? Can also see this as another gotcha against Fox.

Check out the video embedded in the original article. He dropped and F-bomb on Fox News in 2012 -- and refused to accept responsibility! Just awful.

We can´t know exactly what happened with the IT guy, but Beckel has been a loose cannon on the air for a long time.

#12 is right, the Murdoch boys have ruined FN as a cash cow (25% of NewsCorp´s profits in Roger Ailes´s day), and they´ll rue the day they fired him. They seem to bring that peculiar brand of Australian PC to their executive roles, and don´t seem to realize that the world doesn´t dance to their tune.

Since he returned in February, Beckel has rarely offered anything more than rudeness and practiced fake laughter at conservative arguments. Better that he look for work on, say, MSNBC.

I don´t think firing him is going to save the show, even though it´s a step in the right direction. FOX needs to find someone good to replace Eric Bolling who was a great part of The Five cast. Word is that Kimberly is looking for a spot in The White House and nobody likes Dana the Bush lover/Trump Hater! Nope, I think The Five is on Life Support!

Former House Speaker John Boehner said at an event in Las Vegas last week that he used to “sneak into” the White House to see President Barack Obama to avoid scrutiny from the “right-wing press,” according to a report by the Washington Post, which obtained a videotape of Boehner’s remarks. Boehner also lamented the fact that Americans now have too many choices of where to go for news and information. “What’s making everything even worse today is because we have so much news, people get to choose where they get their news,” Boehner said, according to the Post. “It used

BALTIMORE - African American activists have a message for Democrats: If you want to win back the White House, strongly consider a black person on the ticket. On their list are a growing roster of black politicians, notably Sens. Cory Booker, D-N.J. and Kamala Harris, D-Calif., former Attorney General Eric Holder and Deval Patrick, former governor of Massachusetts. Turnout among African Americans in the 2016 presidential election was the smallest in 20 years. It’s a big concern as the NAACP holds its annual convention this week in Baltimore, its first major gathering since the election. Hilary Shelton, head of the NAACP’s

Monday on WISN’s “The Jay Weber Show,” Speaker Paul Ryan (R-WI) defended special counsel Robert Mueller and his investigation into Russian election interference by saying Mueller was “anything but” a “biased partisan.” A listener asked Ryan a question about why Republicans in Congress are not doing more to defend Trump against “what is becoming an obvious witch-hunt.” Ryan replied, “Remember, Bob Mueller is a Republican, who was appointed by a Republican, who served in the Republican administration, and crossed over — I mean and stayed on until his term ended.” He continued, “I don’t think many people are saying Bob

Well, I had a couple of impressions,” Schiff told CBS´s "Face the Nation." “First, the president is clearly worried that Bob Mueller is going to be looking into allegations, for example, that the Russians may have laundered money through the Trump Organization. President Trump´s recent comments undermining Attorney General Jeff Sessions came off as unprofessional to Secretary of State Rex Tillerson, who may depart his post sooner than expected, according to a report. Trump went after Sessions, his first congressional endorser and a longtime advisor, for having recused himself from oversight of the FBI´s Russia probe, speaking during a New York Times interview last week. ´I think is very unfair to the president,´ Trump said. ´It´s extremely unfair, and that´s a mild word, to the president,´ Trump said in reference to the nation´s top law enforcement officer. Former President Jimmy Carter predicted the U.S. will eventually transition to a government-run health care system while addressing his church congregation Sunday. “I think eventually we’ll have a single-payer system,” Carter said while speaking to a large crowd before teaching his Sunday school class at Maranatha Baptist Church in Plains, Ga., according to the Wall Street Journal. Carter’s comments come in the midst of ongoing GOP efforts to repeal and replace Obamacare with more conservative legislation.
