Michael Schmidt, the New York Times “journalist” behind the alleged “Trump-Comey Memo”, told fake news anchor, Brian Williams, that he has NOT seen the memo Comey allegedly wrote. Schmidt stumbled over his words as he commented to Williams, “Someone that had seen [the memo] had recounted details to me.” You can watch a video of Schmidt below: (Video) GotNews reports: Schmidt has been called out for getting a story wildly wrong before thanks to his anonymous sources. Schmidt, citing his anonymous federal law enforcement sources, claimed that one of the San Bernardino terrorists had talked about jihad openly. She didn’t.
Something that occurs to me, and I´m surprised nobody else has brought this up: Even if Comey can produce a ´memo´ this would be nothing more than something he scrawled on a piece of paper. There is no assurance it really represents notes taken at the time, or even if it was that it reflects what was actually said. Comey could write down anything at any time and claim it to be such a memo.
li·bel ´lib?l noun 1. LAW a published false statement that is damaging to a person´s reputation; a written defamation.
I´m not a lawyer, but the circumstances in this case appear to be such that President Trump could have a serious case of libel against the NYT and this journalist. They printed a false assertion without any confirmation or evidence, and they did so with malicious intent knowing (actualy pre-celebrating) that it would be damaging to the President. Trump has successfully won such cases before. I´d like to see him become the new owner of the NYT.
It is Jayson Blair deja vu all over again: history repeating itself, first as tragedy, then as farce. The Old Faithful of Fake News spouts again -- and gets caught again and again and again. Welcome to the Enemedia Unreality Show, season eternity, episode infinity.
Everyone, why do you think Obama brought Jarrett back to DC. This is all Obama´s doing. Please remember that the day the fake news hit about Trump telling Russians secrets and the same day this memo came out was the day that the information about Seth Rich hit the street. I´m telling you that all this fake news was to a smoke screen so that you would not pay attention to the real story of the day.....Seth Rich.
#10 - Exactly! And in so doing the democRats have re-defined the term “Preposterous” and in the process expossed all the J. Fred Goebbels J. School deciples and their ring-kissing RINOs who got sucked into the vortex of democRat lies! (can you say Kasich?) This is the new day that will live in infamy!
How much proof do you people need? We´ve already been told that Comey is a person who always writes down the details of his meetings -either during or shortly afterwords ,while it´s still fresh in his mind. I think that is something they teach in law school.
Time to impeach the President! I think they teach that at organ-grinder monkey class, too.
Numbers of us have already expressed our opinion that the memo could have been written at any time and it would still be a matter of “he said, he said”. Bear little weight.
Comey is realizing now that others know that had his “memo” described a Trump request to cancel the Flynn investigation that rose to the level of interference with that investigation, he (Comey) was required to inform Congress. He didn’t.
If he persists with this memo he puts himself in jeopardy.
He’s kind of in the soup either way, isn’t he. But backing down on his memo, admitting it doesn’t exist or that it doesn’t say Trump broke any law, only costs him face. The other could cost him far more.
We already knew he hadn´t seen it, he said so in the article. He also said his source only read parts of the memo to him and that it was unclassified. It is outrageous he would print such an inflammatory story without actually seeing the evidence. He didn´t even hear the whole thing so couldn´t possibly have known the context which as we know is critical. Fact is no one has seen it, yet "predictably deranged democrats and their unhinged allies" (h/t Sean Hannity) are so disturbed and screeching impeachment all over hell and half of Georgia. Some of those unhinged allies are Republicans - John McCain (D-Mole).
This whole thing has gotten way out of hand and Michael Schmidt should be chastised and shamed for publishing with such thin sourcing. Any "journalist" worth his salt would have insisted on seeing the memo before running the story. It all may be true but nobody, including Schmidt, knows for sure.
And Pinch was just running around, practically setting his hair on fire to get subscribers who cancelled subscription to come back- "Give us another chance- We promise to push Liberalism and global warming to the hilt- After all! We hate Trump, too! If you´ll just renew your subscriptions!" Waaaaa!
What a disaster of a "Noose Paper" Pinch has put around his neck.
No fiction writer would come up with nonsense like this.
When I was in the Air Force (1974-1986), Memos for Record were considered a form of Official Correspondence, with rules of format and distribution. Format was simple, just state the topic and summarize the action. Distribution: One copy to your files, and one sent to the other party/parties involved. That way EVERYONE knew what happened and had the same record of it.
Seems to me, since the Dems/Enemedia do not have the votes to do anything but screech like evil retards, that they should just be ignored or possibly given a middle finger in passing. No sane person is compelled to take their witch hunts or mock trials seriously, much less participate in them. Let them screech, knowing the Electoral College landslide will stand until 2020, and that we have trumped their former power to deceive with votes to spare. Best, just ignore them and get on with the work of reversing all BarackHussein´s damage.
If the memo exists, I´d have to believe he dictated it into his phone or used a computer so that metadata would exist to prove WHEN he made the memo. If in fact he wanted to leave a paper trail or build a case, he´d make sure it could be documented and verified. I doubt he used handwritten notes. If, as he claims (although I can´t be 100% sure he claims this because I haven´t spoken with him), it was his practice to create these memos after private discussions with important people, then he should be able to produce hundred or thousands of memos from conversations with others. If there ARE no others, then we have to wonder WHY ONLY Trump.
This is not "fake news"! This is not lying! This is sedition! The news media is overtly trying to take down the government! There is no other way to put this and anything less is sticking your head in the sand! Our MSM is actively anti-American!!!!
The democrat media & McCain have been crying wolf every day for 10 months. Now no one believes a word they say. A couple of years ago I heard Obama say he had his own little army, could this be the non media?
Doesn´t matter. Now that the Republicans have caved on a Special Counsel, Dems will block everything claiming the PDT is "still under investigation". Meanwhile Meuller will be setting Perjury traps left and right to "Scooter Libby" somebody.
Unless and until someone in the DOJ starts identifying and prosecuting the leakers we are screwed.
In the hours following President Trump’s speech to the United Nations Tuesday, the media frantically wondered if Trump wasn’t inviting nuclear war by condemning North Korea. Some networks like NBC, even sympathized with the American-hating regime of Iran while condemning our own president. MSNBC was no different, with anchor Brian Williams panicking on The Eleventh Hour September 20, that by Trump calling America “sovereign” he was sending a “dog whistle” to the UN that we didn’t need them anymore. Williams was joined by a panel of liberal guests who shared his negative take on Trump’s speech. They included Jeremy Bash,
No sooner had President Trump finished his United Nations speech on Tuesday than the media had already latched onto its most colorful phrases. Naturally, when a U.S. president refers to Kim Jong Un as "Rocket Man" and threatens to "totally destroy North Korea" if it attacks, that´s the part of the speech that everyone is going to dwell on. In fact, it would surprise us if this doesn´t become Trump´s "Rocket Man" speech in future history texts. But Trump did much more than rattle that saber in his speech. Probably his more important contribution was to restore a sense of
Armed FBI agenst with guns drawn busted into Paul Manafort’s home as Manafort and his wife lay in bed. The FBI agents insisted on searching Kathleen Manafort for weapons — after they barged into her home. This is Attorney General Jeff Sessions’ FBI. Sessions needs to go now. (Tweet) The New York Post reported: Gun-wielding FBI agents busted into Paul Manafort’s home as he was asleep in bed and even searched his wife for weapons, it was revealed Tuesday. Agents took an unusually tough approach in executing a search warrant, dealing with potential financial crimes by President Trump’s former campaign chief,
SEOUL/TOKYO- U.S. President Donald Trump´s speech to the United Nations, where he warned he would "totally destroy" North Korea if threatened, reinforced the need for Pyongyang to realise it must give up its nuclear weapons, South Korea said on Wednesday. In a hard-edged speech to the United Nations General Assembly on Tuesday, Trump mocked North Korean leader Kim Jong Un as a "rocket man" for his repeated ballistic missile tests. "We view the speech as portraying a firm and specific stance on the key issues regarding keeping peace and safety that the international community and the United Nations are faced
Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton implored federal employees to remain in their posts despite their political opposition to President Donald Trump Tuesday night on her first book tour stop in Washington, D.C. Clinton urged federal employees to “Stick it out, stick it out, because the tide has to turn,” during a book signing event at the Warner Theatre, Politico reports. She asked that they not resign despite the “disregard, even contempt, among many in this administration about what federal workers know and what they’ve done, and the advice they can give.” Clinton cited the heightened tensions between the U.S.
Former Obama communications director Jen Psaki said Tuesday that Sen. Robert Menendez´s (D., N.J) excuses for failing to repay a major gift "didn´t really pass the smell test." Menendez is currently standing trial in federal court on 12 corruption-related charges, including six counts of bribery. His case stems from his long and seemingly lucrative relationship with mega-donor and Florida ophthalmologist Dr. Salomon Melgen. Psaki appeared on CNN´s "The Lead," where host Jake Tapper played a 2013 clip in which CNN reporter Dana Bash asked Menendez why he took so long to pay back $60,000 for multiple flights with Melgen. Menendez
The Washington Post reports that a "chilling new study´ shows that large numbers of college students are hostile to free speech. They believe that shouting down speakers they don´t like and committing violence against them is acceptable. They fail to recognize that ´hate speech´ is protected by the First Amendment." According to columnist Catherine Rampell: A fifth of undergrads now say it´s acceptable to use physical force to silence a speaker who makes "offensive and hurtful statements." That´s one finding from a disturbing new survey of students conducted by John Villasenor, a Brookings Institution senior fellow and University of California
Angry parents expressed outrage after actress Janine Turner’s “conservative” presentation on the Constitution to fifth and sixth graders at Eubanks Middle School in Southlake, Texas. Turner, the founder of “Constituting America,” spoke to the middle schoolers on Sept. 12 about patriotism and the meaning of America’s founding document. She gave a lecture to promote “civic engagement and understanding of constitutional rights,” the mission of her nonpartisan organization. “‘Constituting America’ seeks to promote the Constitution for students of all ages,” according to its website. (Tweet) “The program itself was great as she talked about love for country and being a good
In his first speech to the United Nations on Tuesday, President Trump put the rogue regimes of Iran and North Korea noticed by calling on the world to stand up to their threatening ways. But NBC Nightly News took acceptation to Trump’s targeting of Iran and defended them in an interview Anchor Lester Holt had with Iranian President Hassan Rouhani. “And minutes before President Trump ripped Iran in that nuclear deal in his speech today, I sat down with Iran´s President Hassan Rouhani who pointed out U.N. watchdog in charge of policing Iran’s nuclear activities has thus far found Iran
President Donald Trump taunted the Emmy Awards and its strong anti-Trump bent on Tuesday, pointing out the show´s low ratings in a tweet. Hosted by liberal comedian Stephen Colbert, Sunday´s Emmys contained dozens of Trump jokes and criticisms from Colbert and the largely progressive crowd of presenters and award-winners. Trump appeared to reference their criticisms of him by saying the "smartest people" are the "deplorables," a term Hillary Clinton infamously coined for many of Trump´s supporters. "I was saddened to see how bad the ratings were on the Emmys last night—the worst ever. Smartest people of them all are the
Attorney General Jeff Sessions on Tuesday called it “unconscionable” that California lawmakers passed a sanctuary state bill that stops local police from cooperating with federal authorities to deport illegal immigrants. “The bill risks the safety of good law enforcement officers and the safety of the neighborhoods that need their protection the most,” Sessions said during a speech in Portland, Oregon. “There are lives and livelihoods at stake.” State legislators in California passed sanctuary state legislation over the weekend that bolsters protections for illegal immigrants in the state. The legislation will now be considered by Democratic Gov. Jerry Brown, who has
All righty then. Looks like we may have a big problem. Remember in March when President Trump tweeted this shocking item? “Terrible! Just found out that Obama had my ‘wires tapped’ in Trump Tower just before the victory. Nothing found. This is McCarthyism!” And, “How low has President Obama gone to tapp my phones during the very sacred election process. This is Nixon/Watergate. Bad (or sick) guy!.” Heads exploded. Massachusetts Sen. Ed Markey scowled, “Donald Trump should just do the right thing and apologize to Barack Obama, there is no evidence ... it is absolutely not true.” Sen. Liz Warren was
A Texas woman has been getting ridiculed online for being “too sensitive” after she blasted the arts-and-crafts chain Hobby Lobby for selling faux raw cotton stalks — which she found offensive. “This decor is WRONG on SO many levels,” Daniell Rider posted on Facebook this past Thursday, along with a photo of the phony textile plants. “There is nothing decorative about raw cotton…A commodity which was gained at the expense of African-American slaves,” she said. “A little sensitivity goes a long way. PLEASE REMOVE THIS ‘decor.´” Rider, who is black, appeared to take the picture of the cotton herself
Hillary Clinton told host Terry Gross on NPR’s “Fresh Air” Monday that she may challenge the results of the 2016 presidential election. “No, I wouldn’t rule it out,” Hillary said in a response to a question asking if she would “rule out questioning the legitimacy of this election.” Clinton stated that she believes the Russian government influenced the election in favor of Trump, and that this could make the outcome illegitimate. “[Trump knew] they were trying to do whatever they could to discredit me with emails, so there’s obviously a trail there… There’s no doubt they influenced the election: We now know more
Tuesday on MSNBC’s “Andrea Mitchell Reports,” while reacting to President Donald Trump’s speech at United Nations, former White House press secretary for the Obama administration Josh Earnest said the overall speech lacked “coherence,” and Trump mocking North Korea’s leader Kim Jong-un was “foolish.” Earnest said, “Having sat in the hall of the United Nations where the president of the United States delivers an address for gathered world leaders — that’s something I did for the last three years—what you know world leaders are looking for in that room is a coherent strategy for taking on the biggest challenges around the
Climate change poses less of an immediate threat to the planet than previously thought because scientists got their modelling wrong, a new study has found. New research by British scientists reveals the world is being polluted and warming up less quickly than 10-year-old forecasts predicted, giving countries more time to get a grip on their carbon output. (Snip) The discrepancy means nations could continue emitting carbon dioxide at the current rate for another 20 years before the target was breached, instead of the three to five predicted by the previous model. “When you are talking about a budget of 1.5
United Nations - The Latest on President Donald Trump and North Korea (all times local): 8:00 a.m. Former Secretary of State John Kerry says President Donald Trump´s United Nations speech may have put America in isolation and danger. Appearing on MSNBC´s "Morning Joe" show Wednesday, Kerry criticized Trump´s harsh rhetoric against North Korean leader Kim Jong Un. Kerry said, "You have to ask yourself: Is America safer because of ´rocket man?" He was referring to Trump´s characterization of Kim. Kerry said that kind of harsh language will make it harder for the United States to engage in diplomacy on
Special Counsel Robert Mueller´s team is reaching back more than a decade in its investigation of Paul Manafort, a sign of the pressure Mueller is placing on President Donald Trump´s former campaign chairman. The FBI´s warrant for a July search of Manafort´s Alexandria, Virginia, home said the investigation centered on possible crimes committed as far back as January 2006, according to a source briefed on the investigation. The broad time frame is the latest indication that Mueller´s team is going well beyond Russian meddling during the campaign as part of its investigation of Trump campaign associates. Manafort,
Union — A violent brawl over the weekend between two couples at a local Walmart was captured on video showing punches being exchanged as children watched and attempted to intervene. The video appears to show the two couples fighting Saturday near the jewelry section in the store on Springfield Road in Union. (Snip) The two men can be seen exchanging blows as the two women brawl at the same time. A third woman can be seen attempting to break up the fight between the two women with two young children also trying to intervene. Dozens of customers looked on at the ensuing
Democratic Gov. Jerry Brown of California compared President Donald Trump supporters to prehistoric cave dwellers Monday during a New York climate event. Brown, an outspoken Trump critic, issued an usually harsh derision of Trump supporters after dismissing the president’s rhetoric on climate change science and U.S. policy toward North Korea as “stupid and dangerous and silly.” “They’re both kind of very similar,” Brown said. “You should check out the derivation of ‘Trump-ite’ and ‘troglodyte,’ because they both refer to people who dwell in deep, dark caves.” Brown attended the climate event, which coincided with the U.N. meeting in New York,
Liberal Brown University is set to offer segregated dinners for black and Muslim students on the tail of recent Antifa protests that have turned violent over the last few months. Purporting to offer “racial reconciliation,” Brown administrators took a $300,000 grant from the Association of American Colleges and Universities (AAC&U) to “break down racial hierarchies and create a positive narrative about race in the community,” the College Fix reported. The money was supplied by donations by liberal organizations such as the W.K. Kellogg Foundation, and Newman’s Own Foundation. There will be two separate segregated “dinner discussion groups,” one for African
U.S. investigators wiretapped President Trump’s campaign chairman Paul Manafort, according to a report by CNN that vindicates the president’s earlier claims, which were mocked as a conspiracy theory. President Trump had tweeted on March 4: “Terrible! Just found out that Obama had my “wires tapped” in Trump Tower just before the victory. Nothing found. This is McCarthyism!” (Tweet) Breitbart News editor Joel Pollak had reported the day before Trump’s tweet that the Obama administration “sought, and eventually obtained, authorization to eavesdrop on the Trump campaign: continued monitoring the Trump team even when no evidence of wrongdoing was found.” Trump’s claim,
Hillary Clinton on Monday would not rule out the possibility of challenging the results of the 2016 presidential election, saying it’s clear the Russians influenced the outcome and that the legitimacy of President Trump’s victory could be called into question as congressional and independent probes into Russian involvement move forward. (Snip) “I wouldn’t rule it out,” she said, though she quickly admitted there’s virtually no legal path forward, and that challenging election results at this point would be unprecedented. “There are scholars, academics, who have arguments that it would be [possible], but I don’t think they’re on
President Trump disturbed some in the press after vowing in his United Nations speech to "destroy" North Korea should the country attack the U.S. In his speech, Trump referred to North Korean President Kim Jong Un as "Rocket Man" and said he was on a "suicide mission" in advancing the country´s nuclear weapons development. "The United States has great strength and patience, but if it is forced to defend itself or its allies, we will have no choice but to totally destroy North Korea," he said. On Twitter, MSNBC host Lawrence O'Donnell said Trump "threatened to commit a war crime" by threatening North Korea.
