Michael Schmidt, the New York Times “journalist” behind the alleged “Trump-Comey Memo”, told fake news anchor, Brian Williams, that he has NOT seen the memo Comey allegedly wrote. Schmidt stumbled over his words as he commented to Williams, “Someone that had seen [the memo] had recounted details to me.” You can watch a video of Schmidt below: (Video) GotNews reports: Schmidt has been called out for getting a story wildly wrong before thanks to his anonymous sources. Schmidt, citing his anonymous federal law enforcement sources, claimed that one of the San Bernardino terrorists had talked about jihad openly. She didn’t.
Something that occurs to me, and I´m surprised nobody else has brought this up: Even if Comey can produce a ´memo´ this would be nothing more than something he scrawled on a piece of paper. There is no assurance it really represents notes taken at the time, or even if it was that it reflects what was actually said. Comey could write down anything at any time and claim it to be such a memo.
li·bel ´lib?l noun 1. LAW a published false statement that is damaging to a person´s reputation; a written defamation.
I´m not a lawyer, but the circumstances in this case appear to be such that President Trump could have a serious case of libel against the NYT and this journalist. They printed a false assertion without any confirmation or evidence, and they did so with malicious intent knowing (actualy pre-celebrating) that it would be damaging to the President. Trump has successfully won such cases before. I´d like to see him become the new owner of the NYT.
It is Jayson Blair deja vu all over again: history repeating itself, first as tragedy, then as farce. The Old Faithful of Fake News spouts again -- and gets caught again and again and again. Welcome to the Enemedia Unreality Show, season eternity, episode infinity.
Everyone, why do you think Obama brought Jarrett back to DC. This is all Obama´s doing. Please remember that the day the fake news hit about Trump telling Russians secrets and the same day this memo came out was the day that the information about Seth Rich hit the street. I´m telling you that all this fake news was to a smoke screen so that you would not pay attention to the real story of the day.....Seth Rich.
#10 - Exactly! And in so doing the democRats have re-defined the term “Preposterous” and in the process expossed all the J. Fred Goebbels J. School deciples and their ring-kissing RINOs who got sucked into the vortex of democRat lies! (can you say Kasich?) This is the new day that will live in infamy!
How much proof do you people need? We´ve already been told that Comey is a person who always writes down the details of his meetings -either during or shortly afterwords ,while it´s still fresh in his mind. I think that is something they teach in law school.
Time to impeach the President! I think they teach that at organ-grinder monkey class, too.
Numbers of us have already expressed our opinion that the memo could have been written at any time and it would still be a matter of “he said, he said”. Bear little weight.
Comey is realizing now that others know that had his “memo” described a Trump request to cancel the Flynn investigation that rose to the level of interference with that investigation, he (Comey) was required to inform Congress. He didn’t.
If he persists with this memo he puts himself in jeopardy.
He’s kind of in the soup either way, isn’t he. But backing down on his memo, admitting it doesn’t exist or that it doesn’t say Trump broke any law, only costs him face. The other could cost him far more.
We already knew he hadn´t seen it, he said so in the article. He also said his source only read parts of the memo to him and that it was unclassified. It is outrageous he would print such an inflammatory story without actually seeing the evidence. He didn´t even hear the whole thing so couldn´t possibly have known the context which as we know is critical. Fact is no one has seen it, yet "predictably deranged democrats and their unhinged allies" (h/t Sean Hannity) are so disturbed and screeching impeachment all over hell and half of Georgia. Some of those unhinged allies are Republicans - John McCain (D-Mole).
This whole thing has gotten way out of hand and Michael Schmidt should be chastised and shamed for publishing with such thin sourcing. Any "journalist" worth his salt would have insisted on seeing the memo before running the story. It all may be true but nobody, including Schmidt, knows for sure.
And Pinch was just running around, practically setting his hair on fire to get subscribers who cancelled subscription to come back- "Give us another chance- We promise to push Liberalism and global warming to the hilt- After all! We hate Trump, too! If you´ll just renew your subscriptions!" Waaaaa!
What a disaster of a "Noose Paper" Pinch has put around his neck.
No fiction writer would come up with nonsense like this.
When I was in the Air Force (1974-1986), Memos for Record were considered a form of Official Correspondence, with rules of format and distribution. Format was simple, just state the topic and summarize the action. Distribution: One copy to your files, and one sent to the other party/parties involved. That way EVERYONE knew what happened and had the same record of it.
Seems to me, since the Dems/Enemedia do not have the votes to do anything but screech like evil retards, that they should just be ignored or possibly given a middle finger in passing. No sane person is compelled to take their witch hunts or mock trials seriously, much less participate in them. Let them screech, knowing the Electoral College landslide will stand until 2020, and that we have trumped their former power to deceive with votes to spare. Best, just ignore them and get on with the work of reversing all BarackHussein´s damage.
If the memo exists, I´d have to believe he dictated it into his phone or used a computer so that metadata would exist to prove WHEN he made the memo. If in fact he wanted to leave a paper trail or build a case, he´d make sure it could be documented and verified. I doubt he used handwritten notes. If, as he claims (although I can´t be 100% sure he claims this because I haven´t spoken with him), it was his practice to create these memos after private discussions with important people, then he should be able to produce hundred or thousands of memos from conversations with others. If there ARE no others, then we have to wonder WHY ONLY Trump.
This is not "fake news"! This is not lying! This is sedition! The news media is overtly trying to take down the government! There is no other way to put this and anything less is sticking your head in the sand! Our MSM is actively anti-American!!!!
The democrat media & McCain have been crying wolf every day for 10 months. Now no one believes a word they say. A couple of years ago I heard Obama say he had his own little army, could this be the non media?
Doesn´t matter. Now that the Republicans have caved on a Special Counsel, Dems will block everything claiming the PDT is "still under investigation". Meanwhile Meuller will be setting Perjury traps left and right to "Scooter Libby" somebody.
Unless and until someone in the DOJ starts identifying and prosecuting the leakers we are screwed.
Newly appointed Communications Director Anthony Scaramucci aced his first day on the job. In a wonderfully done question-and-answer session with the liberal press, Scaramucci was charismatic, direct, likable and appeared very much at home in his new post. (Photos/Tweets) The Daily Caller rated Scaramucci’s performance as “smooth.” DC wrote: Anthony Scaramucci made a positive impression with the media in his first press conference as White House communications director. Scaramucci spoke confidently from the podium and made an effort to call on as many reporters as possible, before ending the press conference with an air kiss to the media. Many reporters
Sean Spicer resigned as White House Press Secretary on Friday. Journalists immediately jumped on this as an example of yet more turmoil and harped on Spicer’s “missteps.” But White House tumult is hardly new, even for Presidents who would go on to serve two terms. ABC should know, considering that the network admitted in 1993 that then-President Bill Clinton “shunted aside” top aide George Stephanopoulos in favor of “grown-up” David Gergen. Stephanopoulos would go on to eventually host Good Morning America on the network. After a string of verbal miscues, Stephanopoulos lost his job as Clinton’s de-facto press secretary. Longtime
When James Riady and his family’s company, called the Lippo Group, pled guilty to campaign fraud in the 1990s for donations to Bill Clinton, it looked as if the Indonesian-based businessman’s days were over — and just another ugly chapter of American political history. Yet, starting in 2011 when Hillary Clinton was secretary of state, the Riadys started their return to the United States through a new Chinese subsidiary called Lippo China Resources, which sought to become a minority owner in a Utah company called CS Mining. Riady’s Lippo China Resources hopes to obtain majority ownership of the Utah company
Under the leadership of former Obama official Tom Perez, a new FEC report reveals the DNC finished the month of June $3.3 million in debt. They’re broke. Just like their policies. (Snip) The month of May wasn’t any better for the DNC, which reported $1.9 million in debt. The Observer reported: DNC Chair Tom Perez recently sent out a fundraising email to supporters claiming, “I know garbage when I see it,” citing that he once worked on a dump truck. It’s ironic that he referred to the GOP health care bill as a “flaming dumpster fire” because he has been
After infamous former NFL star O.J. Simpson was granted parole on Thursday, liberal comedian Kathy Griffin posted a photo of President Donald Trump with her suggestion for his “new attorney general.” Griffin, who suffered severe professional consequences after posing for a photo of her holding Trump’s bloody, severed “head,” earlier this year, took to Twitter to post a photo of Trump smiling next to Simpson, with the caption: “POTUS with new attorney general??? #OJSimpsonParole” (Photo) The picture appears to have been taken in 1993 when both attended the grand opening of a restaurant, and the two had at least one
White House press Secretary Sean Spicer has resigned, just six months after holding the job, according to White House sources. Spicer made his decision after President Donald Trump appointed long-time loyalist Anthony Scaramucci as White House communications director. Trump made his decision to hire Scaramucci last night, confirming his decision on Friday morning despite protests from some in the administration. Spicer, a career political spokesperson, was deeply opposed to the idea and resigned in protest to Trump’s decision. White House reporters were asked to clear the hallways of the press area while Spicer met with press staff in his office following
The FBI is routinely asking witnesses in its Russia investigation about the accusations in a dossier against Donald Trump, further expanding the reach of a discredited opposition research paper sourced from the Kremlin and financed and distributed by Democrats. A source close to the investigation described the dossier as a checklist agents tick off as they go over numerous unverified charges denounced as fabrications by President Trump and his aides. The source called it strange that a gossip-filled series of memos is guiding the way the bureau is conducting the investigation. The memos were used not only to try to
White House spokesman Sean Spicer resigned from the White House on Friday, according to the New York Times. Spicer reportedly told President Trump he disagreed with the decision to appoint Wall Street financier Anthony Scaramucci to communications director.
Democrat leaders have been working on a new agenda for many months because they lost in 2016 and because of their continuous losses the last six years and after all their hard work. Dana Milbank of the Washington Post – and, I am sure, most reporters – is very proud of the Democrats´ amazing product. Here it is, because I know everyone has been sitting on pins and needles waiting for the geniuses´ solutions: Titled "A Better Deal: Better Skills, Better Jobs, Better Wages," it is expected to have many Democratic staples – tax increases on the rich, affordable college,
A "transgender toolkit" for public schools in Minnesota advises teachers to call children "scholars" instead of boys and girls. The guidelines were approved Wednesday by the "School Safety Technical Assistance Council" and will be distributed to Kindergarten through 12th grade public schools and charter schools throughout the state. The toolkit attempts to "ensure a safe and supportive transition" for children becoming a different gender at school. The toolkit allows for boys who identify as girls to use the girls´ bathroom, and tells teachers to ask kids what their "preferred pronouns" are. The Minnesota Department of Education encourages parents to have
WASHINGTON - The U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee on Thursday unanimously approved the nomination of Christopher Wray to be FBI director following the dismissal of the agency´s former chief, James Comey, by President Donald Trump. All 20 members of the committee voted to approve Wray, a white-collar crime lawyer and former assistant attorney general under President George W. Bush, sending his nomination to the full Senate for a vote. Trump nominated Wray last month after firing Comey during an FBI investigation into whether Trump campaign associates colluded with the Russians to help him with the
As the Presidential Advisory Commission on Election Integrity convenes its first meeting on Wednesday, the issue of voter fraud in American elections has become even more contentious and hyperbolic. One of the left’s main arguments against reform is that voter fraud simply does not occur. How liberals arrive at this conclusion, we cannot say. Time and again, studies and analyses point to one incontrovertible conclusion: that voter fraud is a real and pressing issue that deserves serious solutions, and The Heritage Foundation has the evidence to prove it. On Thursday, The Heritage Foundation is releasing a new edition of its
WASHINGTON— California Democratic Rep. Maxine Waters, a favorite among liberal progressives, told The Daily Caller Thursday that this weekend’s scheduled appearance in New Hampshire has nothing to do with potentially running for president in 2020. But she said that she would run for president if millenials want her to. “I’m just going up to do a county Democratic thing. That’s all,” she said. When TheDC pressed further, Waters, an outspoken critic of President Donald Trump, said laughing, “I’m not running for anything but my own seat. I don’t have any presidential aspirations. If the millennials want me to do it,
The Humiliation Of Jeff Sessions- There is something more than a little jarring in the ongoing humiliation of Attorney General Jeff Sessions. In an ill-timed, ill-focused interview with the NYT, President Trump revisited his disdain for Sessions, his first, most-ardent and most-loyal supporter in the Senate. When supporting Trump was still considered career suicide, Sessions donned the red cap anyway. Maybe it will prove fatal for Sessions’ career, after all. The president has not made a secret of the fact that he blames Sessions for the scandal that now engulfs the Trump administration, claiming in
WASHINGTON — President Trump said on Wednesday that he never would have appointed Attorney General Jeff Sessions had he known Mr. Sessions would recuse himself from overseeing the Russia investigation that has dogged his presidency, calling the decision “very unfair to the president.” In a remarkable public break with one of his earliest political supporters, Mr. Trump complained that Mr. Sessions’s decision ultimately led to the appointment of a special counsel that should not have happened. “Sessions should have never recused himself, and if he was going to recuse himself, he should have told me before he took the job and
Bill Nye “the Science Guy” said Wednesday that significant action on climate change will be possible once the climate skeptics and deniers of older generations die off. Speaking to the Los Angeles Times, the 61-year-old TV host was asked to comment on a recent Pew survey that revealed 58 percent of Republicans and right-leaning Independents believe higher education has a negative effect on the country, a number that spiked significantly during President Trump’s rise to power. Mr. Nye said people are just scared of the truth. “It just sounds like people are afraid,” he said. “And the people who are
The U.S. special counsel investigating possible ties between the Donald Trump campaign and Russia in last year’s election is examining a broad range of transactions involving Trump’s businesses as well as those of his associates, according to a person familiar with the probe. The president told the New York Times on Wednesday that any digging into matters beyond Russia would be out of bounds. Trump’s businesses have involved Russians for years, making the boundaries fuzzy so Special Counsel Robert Mueller appears to be taking a wide-angle approach to his two-month-old probe. FBI investigators and others are looking at Russian purchases of apartments
Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) has been diagnosed with brain cancer, the Mayo Clinic Hospital in Phoenix said Wednesday. The tumor was discovered after the senior Arizona senator underwent a minor procedure last week to remove a blood clot from above his left eye. "Subsequent tissue pathology revealed that a primary brain tumor known as a glioblastoma was associated with the blood clot," the hospital said in a statement. “The Senator and his family are reviewing further treatment options with his Mayo Clinic care team. Treatment options may include a combination of chemotherapy and radiation."
We just learned that Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) is in a battle against brain cancer. Yet, he´s not letting that stop him from still speaking his mind on foreign policy. Reports suggest that President Trump has ended a CIA program to arm and train anti-Assad rebels in Syria. The senator said that is unacceptable and used it to suggest the Trump administration has yet to offer a comprehensive plan on Syria. He also predicted that Russia will be huge fans of this development, since they want to see Bashar al-Assad remain in power.
WASHINGTON – Back with a sequel to An Inconvenient Truth, former Vice President Al Gore reflected on his 2006 prediction that “the world would reach a point of no return within 10 years” if “drastic measures” were not taken to combat climate change. Gore was asked why he made that prediction in the first film and if he has another prediction to make about climate change now 11 years later. “First of all, we’ve seen a lot of progress since the first movie came out. We have the Paris agreement now. The cost of renewable energy has come down so quickly
The threat of an expanding special counsel investigation into President Trump’s finances has rattled his conservative base with fears that the New York billionaire could be brought down by shady business deals — not collusion with Russia. Justice Department special counsel Robert Mueller has widened the scope of the Russia investigation to include Mr. Trump’s business deals, according to a Bloomberg News report. The president had warned that such a move would cross a line. “Those transactions are in my view well beyond the mandate of the special counsel, are unrelated to the election of 2016 or any alleged collusion between the Trump
Arizona Senator John McCain has been diagnosed with brain cancer. The 80-year-old veteran politician was given the diagnosis last week after he had a blood clot removed. In a statement late Wednesday, doctors reveal that McCain has been diagnosed with glioblastoma, an aggressive cancer. The statement says the 80-year-old senator and his family are reviewing further treatment, including a combination of chemotherapy and radiation. The senator has been recovering at his Arizona home after doctors at the Mayo Clinic removed a blood clot above his left eye. The former presidential candidate, who has represented Arizona since 1987, went for his annual checkup, complaining of fatigue
Today the White House touted the accomplishments of the administration in the first six months, and the list included: “Attorney General Jeff Sessions implemented new charging guidelines to end catch-and-release policies.” Of course, the president’s not so focused on that part of Sessions’ record lately. As noted in the Jolt, Trump declared in an interview with the New York Times, “Sessions should have never recused himself, and if he was going to recuse himself, he should have told me before he took the job and I would have picked somebody else.” Tensions between a president and attorney general aren’t new
There´s nothing boring about this news. Elon Musk – SpaceX/Tesla CEO and imagineer behind the super-fast hyperloop transportation system – announced Thursday that he´s "received verbal govt approval ... to build an underground NY-Phil-Balt-DC Hyperloop." He explained in an announcement tweet that the proposed hyperloop line would provide NY-to-DC travel in "29 mins." (Tweet) Musk´s new new tunnel-digging venture, The Boring Company, was green-lit to build the multi-state tunnel, he said in the tweet. The boring technology the billionaire is developing, he claims, will reduce current tunnel construction
