Media fake news is everywhere. No, the new health care bill does not treat rape as a pre-existing condition and Republicans did not celebrate its passage with beer. The latest media outrage is driven by a Washington Post story about intelligence disclosures based on claims by anonymous sources. The Post’s big hit pieces are mainly based on anonymous sources. Its latest hit piece runs a quote from, “a former senior U.S. official who is close to current administration officials.” That’s an anonymous source quoting hearsay from other anonymous sources. This isn’t journalism. It’s a joke. Last week, the Washington Post
Comments: Emmanuel Goldstein would be so proud. The enemies of the American people aren´t even trying to hide it anymore.
Doubtless 99% of the media are liberal, left, or far left--but that´s not all of the story. Newspapers are DYING. Even online. Anyone younger than a baby boomer gets their news from a newsfeed, and then only clicks if the picture is interesting or the headline outrageous. Journalism has been reduced to sensationalism, political propaganda and click bait. And because this afternoon´s sensational propaganda is stale by mid-evening, more must be ginned up to feed the public´s ADD-short attention span. People don´t know how to think for themselves any longer. For that we can thank the demise of the family, the welfare system, and a politicized, nationalized, value-less education system--all gifts from our federal government.
Personally, I won´t go to the NYT or WaPo web site stories, or buy either one of them on the stand, until they try to kick their credibility up a notch by publishing stories about Bigfoot, alien abductions, and secret JFK assassins.
Maybe the leaker isn´t a person. Maybe it is a well-disguised gift left behind at by the former occupant. I recall no leaks when POTUS has met with the Chinese or conducted top personnel interviews at Mar-a-Lago.
As Dick Morris pointed out in a column published yesterday, President Trump is being tried by a form of a kangaroo court—no names, no evidence, just innuendo by today’s unscrupulous so-called journalists. A trusted friend and journalist rightfully states that the media today are corrupt—they abuse their press access, turning it against President Trump by twisting his words shamefully. Press conferences did not exist until FDR’s presidency so Newt Gingrich may be wise in suggesting closure of the White House press briefing room.
The msm are playing with fire because sane people no longer put any credence in their opinions—they cry wolf too often. Should there come a day when there is an honest-to-goodness crisis that should be heeded by the public, and the public dismisses yet another sensational “story,” and people suffer for it, the msm will own the disaster.
RushLimbaugh proffered two days ago, daily, a so-called major event involving President Trump breaks at 5:30PM so the msm television anchors can begin their evening broadcasts with yet another “breaking news” story. Contrived, malicious, unconscionable, despicable barely begin to describe the Left’s behavior/agenda.
Even Fox News is putting out fake news adverse to President Trump, with Sandra Smith stating this morning that Donald Trump tweeted that he was against Robert Muller being appointed as Special Counsel. I don´t believe that was a true statement as what Trump said was that he believed that the Special Counsel investigation would be a witch hunt as he had nothing to do with the Russians, and that his tweeting never mentioned him being against Robert Mueller´s appointment.
Anonymous "news" or information should NEVER be believed. Everyone has a right to question their accuser. It´s too bad this forgotten with Nixon. I do firmly believe there was no "deep throat". That´s a cowards way of doing things.
You have to wonder how liberals think this works. So, a manifestly conflicted special counsel leading a pack of maxed-out Democrat donors decides Donald Trump has to be kicked out of office for “obstructing justice” regarding a cynical lie about him cavorting with the Kremlin and…then what? President Pence, until they do the same thing to him? Or do we just skip right to President Felonia von Pantsuit, shrug our shoulders, and give up on our foolish dream of having a say in our own governance? Straightforward from here is…chaos. Because normal Americans are woke to the scam. No, the affidavits of
Sarah Palin issued a not-so-veiled warning to the New York Times on Thursday over a controversial editorial in the newspaper, one that prompted two corrections and an apology. In a tweet, Palin said she is "talking to attorneys this AM and exploring options." It all stems from an editorial, written in the wake of the Steve Scalise shooting, that linked a map put out by Palin´s political action committee in 2011 to the shooting of former congresswoman Gabby Giffords. Some background and new developments: What it said: In criticizing incendiary political rhetoric, the editorial mentioned the 2011 shooting of Giffords and
The rush to impeach President Trump is on by an opposition party that lacks the votes, evidence or legal basis for such a move. But since when did an illegal left-wing coup need any of those things? No Dem has been more honest about the real motive for impeachment than Congressman Ted Lieu. “We should not give him a chance to govern,” Lieu had declared after Trump had been in office for ten days. And he predicted that, “I do believe that if we win back the House of Representatives, impeachment proceedings will be started.” What was the basis for impeaching President Trump
How are we supposed to take the myriad leaks coming from Robert Mueller´s special investigation of what I guess we could call "The Russian Matter"? You would think that on the day Rep. Steve Scalise was shot the lava-like flow of illegal and frequently inaccurate leaked information being promulgated ad infinitum by the Washington Post, the New York Times, and CNN (among others) would stop for a moment´s respectful pause, but no -- at least not at the Washington Post. That very day they were "reporting" [scare quotes deliberate] that five, count ´em five, needless-to-say unnamed "officials" [scare quotes again
The New York Times used the attempted assassination of dozens of Republican congressmen by a left-wing Bernie Sanders supporter to attack former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin with a baseless conspiracy theory blaming Palin for inciting mentally ill Jared Loughner to shoot Democratic Rep. Gaffy Giffords in 2011. “In 2011, when Jared Lee Loughner opened fire in a supermarket parking lot, grievously wounding Representative Gabby Giffords and killing six people, including a 9-year-old girl, the link to political incitement was clear. Before the shooting, Sarah Palin’s political action committee circulated a map of targeted electoral districts that put Ms. Giffords and 19
Forget all the nervous gasps. When President Trump tweeted that his measure to protect Americans from Islamic terror was a “travel ban” and that it should never have been watered down, he was right. Calling it a pause hasn’t appeased a single of the radical judges abusing their authority. It doesn’t matter what the lawyers call it, when courts insist on referencing President Trump’s campaign rhetoric instead. Watering down the ban achieved nothing. The judicial coup can’t be appeased with a “moderate” ban. Stripping Iraq from the list of countries undermined the effectiveness of the measure considering that the vast majority of refugees
"Republicans of all stripes must be made to acknowledge and accept that Trumpism is an experiment that failed," Noah Rothman wrote in Commentary. It was October 2016 and Rothman was declaring the terms on which Never Trumpers would accept the surrender of Republicans after Trump’s defeat. Some "examples must be made", but after some political purges, the GOP could be reunited around "free trade" and "an internationalist foreign policy". But instead of losing, Trump won. The disasters that Rothman was predicting, the loss of Congress and the White House, never came about. And the scorned prophets of Never Trump, instead of apologizing
“Everything’s fine,” smiled Captain Paul Ryan smarmily as he steered the Titanic into an iceberg. “Now, let me get back to shafting our own voting base via my incomprehensible determination to cancel the tax deductions that Republicans use instead of cutting handouts to Democrat-voting freeloaders!” We are sailing toward disaster in 2018 and no one seems to want to acknowledge it. Let’s look at the facts and evidence. Data Point One: We scraped by in a couple of House special elections so far, including Punchy McSlugahack’s in Montana, but that Daily Kos reader-funded-12-year old non-resident Democrat dork is going to
That towering doofus James Comey crushed the spirits of millions of democracy-hating geebos when, trapped by his own prior testimony, he was forced to admit the truth on national television. And that truth, as those of us not caught up in the whirlpool of Menschian insanity and liberal wishcasting all know, is that the whole Russia thing is a wheelbarrow of fresh Schumer squeezed out by Hillary and her minions in order to create a narrative – any narrative – that would hide the bitter truth. We rejected her, and now we’re rejecting the Russia idiocy too. Poor Comey, having
Someone should inform the Shakespeare-in-the-Park thespians who are stabbing a Trump-a-like to death in their "modern dress" Julius Caesar that they´ve chosen the wrong play. What they should be performing is the Bard´s Much Ado About Nothing, a far more accurate vision of contemporary Washington -- except, of course, for the comedy´s romantic ending. Nobody´s falling in love with anybody in D.C. these days, but they certainly are wasting time. That became clearer than ever even before James Comey´s said-to-be-historic testimony before the Senate Intelligence Committee Thursday. The former FBI director´s published statement harrumphed for seven pages, but essentially exonerated
In Britain, as in the U.S., when an Islamic terrorist is said to be, “known to law enforcement,” the translation is: “He is being actively ignored by law enforcement.” After the latest terrorist attack in Britain — at least as of this writing — Prime Minister Theresa May bravely announced, “Enough is enough!” What is the point of these macho proclamations after every terrorist attack? Nothing will be done to stop the next attack. Political correctness prohibits us from doing anything that might stop it. Poland doesn’t admit Muslims: It has no terrorism. Japan doesn’t admit Muslims: It has no
Two weeks ago, in the wake of the Manchester bombing, I mistweeted and it cost me. Everyone knows what I said and I’m not going to repeat it here. The wording was horrible. Loaded with unintended meaning. Quickly deleted, amended to make clear, and apologised for live on TV and radio. I have no excuses. And I take full accountability — disasters, triumphs, I must treat them just the same. In truth, I woke up to the news of the terror attack in Manchester on our young girls and I saw red. As a mum, I felt fear. And I
Turns out…money can’t buy you love. Or a House seat in Georgia’s 6th District. Democrats pulled out all stops in their effort to show that the #Resistance isn’t just about marches and slogans and insulting the president, but also about flipping the House in 2018. They poured tens of millions of dollars into what became the most expensive House race ever, trying to elect 30-year-old nonentity Jon Ossoff to fill the seat of HHS head Tom Price. They cast the race as a referendum on Donald Trump, and a bellwether for 2018. Republicans will be elated with the outcome, and hopeful
On June 8, Lisa Durden, a producer, filmmaker and media commentator, arrived at Essex County College in Newark to teach her speech class. It was the closing days of the summer session and Durden was already set for the fall semester. She was listed as a returning adjunct professor to teach mass communication and popular culture and two effective speech courses. Two days before, she had appeared as a political commentator on the Fox News show "Tucker Carlson Tonight," invited to give her opinion as to why Black Lives Matter organizers held a Memorial Day event in Brooklyn for black people only. When
Republican Karen Handel staved off a furious challenge from Democrat Jon Ossoff on Tuesday in a race to represent a suburban Atlanta seat in Congress, as the GOP and President Donald Trump avoided an embarrassing defeat in the most expensive U.S. House contest in history. A former Georgia secretary of state, Handel emphasized her experience and roots in Georgia’s 6th Congressional District to defeat Ossoff and keep a seat that’s long been held by Republicans in GOP hands. She becomes Georgia’s first female Republican member of the U.S. House.
MISSISSAUGA, Ont. -- Video of a woman demanding for her son to be seen by a "white doctor" at a walk-in clinic in Ontario has gone viral. CTV Toronto reports the four-minute argument was recorded by a patient in the waiting room at the Rapid Access to Medical Specialists clinic on Sunday. In the video, an employee is heard explaining to the woman that a "white doctor" would not be available until 4 p.m. to see her child. To which she responds, "So you´re saying in the whole entire building there isn´t one white doctor? You´re telling me my kid has chest
Republican Karen Handel has defeated her upstart Democratic challenger in a Georgia runoff election. Handel, an experienced politician and former Secretary of State for Georgia, emerged on Tuesday night with a narrow win over 30-year-old Jon Ossoff. Incomplete returns show she is on track to receive about 53 per cent of the vote. Her narrow victory in Georgia´s 6th Congressional District allows Republicans a sigh of relief after the hotly-contested race, which is considered the most expensive in US House history. The special election was considered one of the first tests for Donald Trump´s controversial presidency, with voters given a chance to put another
Democrat Jon Ossoff conceded the Georgia special election runoff to Republican Karen Handel Tuesday night, even as he argued that "fight goes on" for Democrats even after their latest election defeat. "This small community in Georgia, which has become the epicenter of politics — sometimes to my chagrin — for months now, it´s had nothing to do with me, it never has," Ossoff told the crowd at his campaign´s Atlanta watch party, soon after news outlets declared Handel the winner of the pivotal special election. "It´s about you. It´s about an extraordinary community at an extraordinary moment in history." Democrats had
(Video) - The State Department has opened a formal inquiry into whether former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and her aides mishandled classified information while she was the nation’s top diplomat, Fox News has learned. Despite being under investigation, Clinton and her staffers still have security clearances to access sensitive government information. The department’s investigation aims to determine whether Clinton and her closest aides violated government protocols by using her private server to receive, hold and transmit classified and top-secret government documents. The department declined to say when its inquiry began,
Trump adviser Steve Bannon reportedly said White House briefings were happening off-camera more frequently because "Sean got fatter" — and Chelsea Clinton won´t stand for it. On Tuesday morning, researcher Brian Klaas tweeted an Atlantic article about the dearth of White House briefings in the Trump administration. His post criticized a detail from the article – that Bannon, via text message to a reporter, explained that White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer´s appearance was the reason why. (Tweet) Clinton retweeted Klaas, attacking the White House. (Tweet) Twitter users quickly pointed out that they believed
Ed Morrissey may be on vacation but he’s still keeping his ear to the door of American politics. He popped up on Twitter this morning, searching for his dictionary to look up the definition of “chutzpah.” The reason for his apparent confusion was a rather off-putting interview with Georgia-06 Democratic candidate Jon Ossoff conducted by NPR’s Rachel Martin. The subject of the massive, record-breaking amount of cash dumped into this race couldn’t be avoided, so Martin asked Ossoff to weigh in. He did so, but his take on the subject rang a bit hollow to say the least. (Emphasis added
As a resident of Hollywood, CA, I didn´t exactly see crying in the streets, but I did "feel their pain," as the saying goes. According to (where else?) Variety, the local entertainment industry went in big time in support of Jon Ossoff, the jejune sometime documentarian, in his quest to win the election in Georgia´s sixth congressional district. Rosie O’Donnell [ je suis shockay], Jane Fonda, Jessica Lange, Sean Daniel, Connie Britton, Sam Waterston and Kyra Sedgwick are among those who have donated to Democrat Jon Ossoff’s campaign, while others have been participating in phone banks to get out the vote and
Despite receiving an invitation to meet with President Trump, members of the Congressional Black Caucus have reportedly chosen to decline, per Politico. Both Trump and the Congressional Black Caucus met in March to discuss issues important to CBC members, yet many in the Caucus felt as if little to no progress has been made since that meeting three months ago and that any subsequent meeting would be merely lip service. One Democratic aide illustrated the thinking of some in the Congressional Black Caucus saying, “No one wants to be a co-star on the reality show.” Former “Apprentice” star Omarosa Manigault,
SANDY SPRINGS, Georgia—After $50 million and a congressional contest bigger than some presidential primaries, the special election in Georgia’s 6th Congressional District to replace Rep. Tom Price ended up where it began, with the Republican House seat still in Republican hands and national Democrats still looking for a way to turn the resistance to Donald Trump into a victory at the polls. (Snip) On the Democratic side, the combined efforts of the Ossoff campaign, the DNC, and the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee help build a monster operation unprecedented in Georgia Democratic politics. By the end of the race, they had
