The Republican National Committee (RNC) on Friday announced it raised $41.5 million in the first three months of 2017, its strongest-ever total for the first quarter following a presidential race. “Our record-setting fundraising pace has been fueled by grassroots enthusiasm for President Trump and the Republican Party,” RNC Chairwoman Ronna Romney McDaniel said in a statement. “The RNC is in a strong position to make an impact in key races in 2017 and 2018 as we plan to take a leading role in preserving our congressional majorities and prepare to reelect President Trump in 2020.” The RNC said it brought
Ronna, I agree about Trump, not so certain it was the RNC. And given the RNC´s refusal to listen to their base, "Repeal" no replace, Build/Fund the Wall, eliminate the unconstitutional depts, no H1Bs, no mooslime refugees, &etc., they may very well see the money dry up, and get sent directly to constitutionalist candidates, and not the RNC.
During the early 2000´s I believed every word the RNC told me. Then I grew up. The latest begging strip diatribe was like the one received prior to the primary that only wanted to destroy Trump. I wrote all over the 4-page crapfest to leave me alone and shut up forever. Not one more dime then or ever. If there is a way I can vote with my purse directly to Mr. Trump, let me know. There has to be a way to show appreciation for all he has done in the first hundred or so days. More than any other Republican has EVER done or promised.
It´s getting too hard to tell if the earnest Republican candidate soliciting your money is just another swamp dwelling RINO, that, like a chameleon, will change it´s stripes after its election. I wholeheartedly agree with #1 & #2. The RNC doles out money to really questionable candidates, and then you look at the candidates Ryan & McConnell push, and you just save your money for the real thing!
I don´t know if it´s the RNC or Mark Hensch is at fault for this article.
I don´t mind the announcement. It´s almost a ´good thing´; but the language used is insulting.
Record-setting HAUL ???
I read this to say: ´The RNC suckered the public into ponying up a boat load of money they can waist.´
I don´t see the; ´We appreciate your sacrifice to the Trump doctrine and RNC cause.´
These kind of articles make me uncomfortable - For Instance: After giving money to the guy at the gas station who said he was trying to get back to his pregnant wife - and then witness him walk into the next door liquor store and come out with a bottle of cheap wine.
It seems like they gloat about the numbers and don´t care that you are eating that can of soup that´s been in the cupboard for months, instead of going out to a restaurant. They don´t understand that it´s YOUR MONEY they´re spending.
They better start spending large amounts of it in GA.06. Democrats are already smearing Handle. They have to get Asshat´s Pajama Boy mug on TV as much as possible and start defining him as an aide to Hank "Guam is going to tip over" Johnson.
I´m confused...I thought Professor Harold Hill was chairman of the RNC with the scam its been running since McCain and Dubya almost got us "Comprehensive Immigration Reform", followed by McConnell, Boehner and Ryan´s great "Obamacare" fiasco.
Atheists across the fruited plain are rejoicing after a federal judge declared Monday that a cross erected in a Florida park violated the law and must come down. “I am aware that there is a lot of support in Pensacola to keep the cross as is, and I understand and I understand and respect that point of view,” U.S. District Judge Roger Vinson wrote in his ruling. “But, the law is the law.” The lawsuit was filed in 2016 by the notorious Freedom From Religion Foundation and the American Humanist Association on behalf of four Pensacola citizens. A lot is said about resistance these days. Resistance denotes something that goes beyond political discourse and disagreements. It denotes belligerence, intractability, unwillingness to compromise, a militant demeanor willing to go outside the lines of decency and lawfulness. Resistance is what the French and other European countries practiced during Nazi occupation, a justifiable and noble posture to take, considering that their countries were occupied by an evil and overwhelming force that could only be bitten off in small clandestine chunks in whatever covert actions they were able to mount. Of course, we´re only speaking semantics now, and whether it’s called
Michelle Obama — fitness drill sergeant? The former first lady says she’s been hosting “bootcamps” for her friends to help whip them into shape and “be healthy together.” Obama is seen participating in a series of workout routines in snapshots she posted on Instagram on Monday. “When I was at the White House, I often hosted bootcamp weekends for my close girlfriends,” Obama, 53, wrote. “It didn’t matter that we were all at varying fitness levels. Our bootcamp weekends were a reminder that if we want to keep taking care of others, we need to take care of ourselves first.”
Pat Caddell talked all things media and President Trump with Breitbart News Daily SiriusXM host Alex Marlow on Monday. Caddell said, “I think they are united in a narrative. And that narrative is, somebody did something wrong. It was Donald Trump and therefore, at the end of the day, he must not be president.” “They’re still fighting the campaign that they lost,” he added, meaning the media. “They will not put out things that disagree with their narrative,” said Caddell. “That’s when they stop being a press. They’ve become propagandists and this is really dangerous stuff. It is really scary
President Donald Trump’s son-in-law and senior adviser Jared Kushner welcomed executives from many of the world’s largest technology companies to a meeting at the White House, saying he hoped they would help the administration“unleash the creativity of the private sector” on government challenges. The event, scheduled to last four hours Monday, brought to the White House top executives from an industry whose leaders haven’t shied away from publicly criticizing Trump. Among those attending included Apple Chief Executive Officer Tim Cook, who castigated Trump for his travel ban and the U.S. withdrawal from the Paris climate treaty. Alphabet Inc. Executive Chairman
The government cannot censor trademarks on the grounds they may be offensive to some, the Supreme Court ruled Monday in a major decision that could also clear the way for the Washington Redskins football team to maintain its trademarks. The case before the high court involved an Asian rock band named “The Slants.” The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office originally denying the band’s name, saying it was a racial slur that violated the agency’s policy, based on federal law, that prohibits granting disparaging trademarks. Justices, though, said that violated the First Amendment. “Speech may not be banned on the ground
The Environmental Protection Agency has ended a nearly $1 million program that provided gym memberships for employees. The new administration under EPA administrator Scott Pruitt identified the gym memberships as an abuse of taxpayer dollars. Examples of the program´s misuse included $15,000 for gym memberships for 37 EPA scientists in Las Vegas last year. "We have ended taxpayer-funded fitness centers at EPA; a program that was costing American taxpayers $900,000 per year," said EPA spokesperson Jahan Wilcox. "Disinvestment in using federal funds for EPA fitness centers will allow the agency to invest this money in core activities to protect the
Senate Democrats plan to stall Obamacare repeal late Monday in a protest against the GOP’s ‘closed-door’ repeal and replace process. (Photo) Circa News reports: Senate Democrats will move to freeze the chamber late Monday to protest the GOP’s closed-door process to repeal and replace ObamaCare, a senior Democratic aide told CNN. Democrats reportedly plan on rejecting routine requests to let the Senate function, including scheduling votes and allowing committees to meet for extended hearings. House Minority Leader, Chuck Schumer said, “If Republicans won’t relent and debate their healthcare bill in the open for the American people to see, then they
The Supreme Court decided Monday to take up a landmark challenge to partisan gerrymanders, raising the prospects of a significant rearrangement of legislative political power at the state and federal level. “Gerrymandering” refers to the practice of drawing legislative district lines to favor incumbents, political parties or interest groups. Although the justices have frequently invalidated district maps that disadvantage minorities, they have stopped short of striking down maps favoring one political party over the other. A ruling that partisan gerrymanders are unlawful would dramatically recast the apportionment process and shuffle the balance of power in Congress and state legislatures. “This

In every single week of the Trump presidency, the investigators and attorneys of FBI Director James Comey or, subsequently, of special counsel Robert Mueller, have leaked information that President Donald Trump was under investigation for either colluding with the Russians or obstructing justice—allegations so far without any substantiating evidence. In the case of Comey, we now know that his office or sympathetic third-parties leaked to the press false stories that Trump was under FBI investigation at precisely the time that the careerist Comey was privately reassuring the president himself that he was in fact not being investigated. The appointment of
Alan Dershowitz, professor emeritus at Harvard Law School, argued Monday that Trump should not face any criminal penalty just because he fired former FBI Director James Comey. "The president of the United States should not be subject to criminal prosecution for merely exercising his constitutional authority," he said on CNN. "In the absence of any statute to the contrary, the president has the authority to fire the director of the FBI, and the president has the power tell the director of the FBI who to investigate, who not to investigate," he added.
Watergate prosecutors had evidence that operatives for then-President Richard Nixon planned an assault on anti-war demonstrators in 1972, including potentially physically attacking Vietnam whistleblower Daniel Ellsberg, according to a never-before-published memo obtained by NBC News. The document, an 18-page 1973 investigative memorandum from the Watergate Special Prosecution Force, sheds new light on how prosecutors were investigating attempts at domestic political violence by Nixon aides, an extremely serious charge. NBC News is publishing the memo, and an accompanying memo about an interview prosecutors conducted with GOP operative Roger Stone, as part of special coverage for the 45th anniversary of the Watergate
Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) has a warning for President Trump: "Donald, you ain´t seen nasty yet." Warren read aloud from her new book "This Fight is Our Fight: The Battle to Save America´s Middle Class" and took questions at a town hall event in New York Friday, HuffPost reported. Warren blasted Trump for his economic policies, saying they are hurting the middle-class Americans who voted for him. "What Donald Trump and the Republican majority in the House and the Senate want to do to us, is they want to deliver the knockout blow to the middle class," she said. She
Local leaders in and around Madison, Wisconsin are seeking to rename the main county government building after former President Barack Obama — “the JFK of our generation.” The seven-story building is currently called the City-County Building. It’s a gray, soul-crushing, Brutalist slab of concrete. Inside the dreary, Soviet apartment-style exterior walls — originally erected in 1956 — are administrative offices and a jail. “Barack Obama was the JFK of our generation,” County Executive Joe Parisi said on Thursday, according to The Capital Times, a Madison newspaper. “He deserves to be honored, and he deserves to be recognized, not only for his accomplishments, but
NEW YORK— Senate Republicans are eying the possibility of seeking testimony from former Attorney General Loretta Lynch over possible wrongdoing with regard to the FBI’s criminal investigation into Hillary Clinton’s emails. On Wednesday, Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley (R-IA) sent a letter to Sen. Diane Feinstein (D-CA), the top Democrat on the Judiciary Committee, formally requesting that the committee probe any attempts to influence the FBI’s investigations under the Trump and Obama administrations. It is not immediately clear whether the Judiciary Committee, which oversees the Justice Department, has taken any action on the matter. A spokesman for Grassley, the
Under no circumstances should a US Navy vessel possibly be damaged by a container ship at sea. Multiple systems exist to prevent this. Even CNN is noticing how little we know about the catastrophe that took the lives of seven sailors and almost caused a powerful warship to founder. The USS Fitzgerald, an anti-ballistic missile destroyer that was part of the USS Ronald Reagan carrier strike group, will no longer be ready to defend the carrier and other ships from missile attacks launched from North Korea, should push come to shove in the current confrontation with the rogue regime on the
POLICE have reported there are a "number of casualties" after a vehicle drove through pedestrians near Finsbury Park Mosque in London. Officers were called to the scene on Seven Sisters Road just after 12.20am BST. Witnesses said the vehicle veered off the road into crowds outside Finsbury Park Mosque but it was unclear whether the collision was deliberate. Multiple witnesses claim a man jumped out the knife, and there are reports that at least one victim was stabbed. Bystanders reportedly wrestled the alleged perpetrator to the ground as officers arrived on the scene just moments later. Police have confirmed the incident occurred as
The Navy on Sunday revealed details of the final moments of seven sailors who died aboard a destroyer after it collided container ship near Japan — ripping open the warship and sending sea water gushing into the rooms where the men lay asleep. “The damage was significant. This was not a small collision,” U.S. 7th Fleet Commander Vice Adm. Joseph Aucoin said at a press conference in Yokosuka. The Philippine-flagged ACX Crystal plowed into the far smaller USS Fitzgerald at around 2:20 a.m. Saturday, “opening the hull to the sea” and rapidly flooding three large compartments that included two berthing areas for
California state lawmakers approved $45 million in a state budget plan to expand legal services for immigrants, a response to the Trump administration´s call to increase deportations. The funds, greater than what Gov. Jerry Brown earmarked in May and which will be an ongoing allocation through 2020, will go to a coalition of legal services agencies, immigrant rights groups and faith-based organizations called One California. (Snip) Improving legal defense for immigrants has been a significant part of a legislative package proposed by Democrats, in an attempt to assist more than 2 million people living in the state illegally. Among the proposals was a bill by Sen. Ben Hueso (D-San Diego) to create
This was not how it was supposed to be. The most hated man in American media has dealt a serious and potentially knockout blow to the career of the woman who thought she was all set to take him on and proceed unimpeded on the fast track to maybe becoming the next Oprah. The battle pitting the two well-known personalities commenced two weeks ago when Megyn Kelly, the golden girl of 21st century TV infotainment, started pursuing controversial talk show host and Infowars founder Alex Jones as the next big interview “get” for her new prime time NBC television network
During Kevin Steele’s successful election campaign for District Attorney of Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, in 2015, he attacked the longtime incumbent, Bruce Castor, for having “refused to prosecute Bill Cosby” and promised “tough sentences for sexual predators.” After taking office, District Attorney Steele immediately moved on his promise to vindicate Bill Cosby’s victims, arresting and charging Cosby for the sexual assault of Andrea Constand, one of nearly sixty women to have accused Cosby of sexual assault over several decades. But Cosby’s criminal trial, on three counts of indecent assault for the 2004 incident, ended in a mistrial due to a hung
Fox News Channel’s Jeanine Pirro went after the GOP establishment Saturday on “Justice.” Pirro accused the establishment Republicans leaders of watching the Democrats “railroad their president, and then urged them to prove their loyalty by convincing everyone that they are not in on the “effort to take down” President Donald Trump. “The Republican establishment not fighting for the commander-in-chief as day after day they watch him being savaged, forcing him to defend himself and run the country. Think about it. If he’s knocked out, the succession is clear and things go back to the way they were,” Pirro said. “You’re
An investigation into a collision between a USS destroyer and a Japanese container ship which killed seven sailors has got off to a shambolic start - because neither side can agree what time it happened. The Japanese coastguard is investigating the USS Fitzgerald and the Philippine-flagged ACX Crystal for professional negligence and endangerment. Both vessels collided in an early morning crash just outside Tokyo Bay on Saturday. As US forces are exempt from Japanese judicial process owing to an agreement between the two countries, the coastguard has so far only questioned the Crystal´s exclusively Philippine crew and captain, said the authorities. The US
