Caracas on Knife-Edge as
Maduro Protesters Erect Barricades

Caracas faced another tense day after massive protests against Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro, with barricades of trash and debris in the streets, shuttered businesses and sporadic blossoms of tear gas. Demonstrators take a fallen tree from a truck to use it as a barricade during a protest in Caracas on April 20. A coalition of opposition parties called for continued demonstrations Thursday like those the previous day in the capital and major cities. Hundreds of thousands turned out to rally against Maduro’s grip on the country’s institutions, and his policies that have left the economy in tatters. Maybe because Maduro disarmed the populace, except for his supporters and thugs?

This "to the barricades" notion is romantic bs. They are opening the door to a bloodbath. The government will bait and prod the crowd into what it will claim was a riot--after they´ve fixed it. Crowd control is one of the few things fascists do very well; mobs are their stock and trade.

Later, after they´ve studied and identified the people recorded in their surveillance measures during these protests will be far worse.

It´s time to get out of the street. The base of the regime is it´s low-level operatives--the ones who distribute the goodies and report the opposition. That´s where they´re vulnerable.

There is a bright side: Maduro just robbed Obama-motors. You may or may not have a new fried, but Maduro definitely has a new enemy.

Venezuela is a real life cautionary tale, and IF we had objective media and a political party focused on individual liberty the story that the socialist/collectivist policies the Democrats want to foist on us are exactly what leads to a living hell like Venezuela would be spread far and wide throughout the land. But instead our media is almost entirely leftist propaganda, and the feckless Republican "leadership" is focused on keeping their jobs and pleasing the Chamber of Commerce.

Then the weapon of the unarmed citizens will be the Molotov cocktails, then the police will begin with the barrages of bird shot blinding thousands and then the citizens, using long hidden hunting rifgles will try to defend themselves, then the police will release the thugs - the Brute Squads recruited out of the prisons, who rush about to beat people to death. Then the real slaughter- the last weapon the people have will be their own bodies laying the the street. All revolutions must have blood and innocent people laying dead int he streets. But, not just some blood- but, rivers of it. soon, the "cops" will realize, they can´t keep doing this and turn on the government. At last, Maduro will flee in his helicopter to take refuge in some other dictator´s hell hole.

It always goes like that, dosen´t it? Freedom is never free.

This is what happens when people get to vote themselves lots of free stuff and the government runs out of other peoples money. The media is too in the tank for socialism to throw this in the left´s face. Too bad. There are some great lessons here for all the potheads living in mom´s basement.

Former Hillary Clinton campaign chairman John Podesta grew angry when Fox Business host Maria Bartiromo highlighted his own ties with companies connected to Russia.Bartiromo asked why Americans weren’t paying more attention to Democrat ties to the Russians. “[Y]ou’re picking through my emails that were stolen by the Russians and released by Wikileaks, and creating a story that is not true,” Podesta said in an interview, insisting that he did not get any shares from a Russian company. The Congressional Budget Office’s official “score” of the Senate GOP’s Better Care Reconciliation Act came out this afternoon, and it contained largely bad news for the bill’s sponsors — though with some significant opportunities for improvements before the bill actually hits the Senate floor. The big bad number most often cited in criticisms of the House-passed legislation did not get a lot better. The House’s American Health Care Act was expected to cost 23 million Americans health coverage by the end of ten years. CBO estimates that BCRA will lower than terrible number by just one million. After 52 hours of jury deliberation, the case against Bill Cosby on charges of drugging and sexually assaulting Andrea Constand in 2004 ended on Saturday in a mistrial. But at least the public verdict on Mr. Cosby is clear: He will be remembered as a very low sort of hypocrite — the self-styled exemplar of conservative family values exposed as a sexual predator. This is an old story, with plenty of antecedents in religion and politics. What’s chiefly new is that this is now a media story, as conservative power has moved from the pulpit and the pedestal to the TV
