Here’s why Rush survived pressure

Legal Insurrecction, by William A. Jacobson

Bill O’Reilly’s Fox News career now swims with the fishes. The conventional wisdom is that after the NY Times exposed a history of sexual harassment settlements, and two new accusers came forward, advertisers “fled” the show, forcing the hand of News Corp and the Murdochs. That conventional wisdom is only partially correct — advertisers didn’t flee, they were chased away by the same organized effort as was used against Glenn Beck once upon a time, and Rush Limbaugh in 2012. Longtime readers will recall my extensive and groundbreaking research into the StopRush operation just after Limbaugh’s comments about Sandra Fluke in 2012, for

Let the left think they can shut down conservatives. The harder they hit, the harder we hit back. And eventually the truth wins, even if it takes a while.

In the 90´s when I first started listening to Rush he was advertising Snapple. He made it sound like the greatest drink in the world, so I bought some. It was ok, but not great. Then he stopped advertising them and nary a word about the greatest drink on earth after that. They stopped paying him to like it, so he no longer did.
I learned my lesson. I don´t believe celebrity spokesmen about anything, even if I like them.
That goes for O´Reilly too. Or Levin or anyone else. Just because an ad is on their show does not mean I am going to buy their junk or trust them.

BOR never ´got´ the Libertarian notion of conservatism. He was and is a judgmental, fussbudget, nanny who cannot abide those who think and live differently than he. True conservatives grant others the right to live any way they choose. True conservatives are the real ´Liberals´. Liberty is perilous and for adults only. Children need parenting and the ´State´ is more than happy to oblige. All it costs is everything.

Being the know-it-all mastermind that he is, O´Reilly´s personality fits perfectly with someone that may be a sexual predator. He says to his desired paramour, "give me what I want because I know what´s best" - typical O´Reilly discourse. Now this big gas bag can go whistle dixie. I never liked him or his quasi-conservative ideas or his so called journalistic style. And as much as I am NOT a fan of Pope Francis (though I still like and respect the him), I´m glad that he did not grant O"Reilly a personal audience.

It´s very fashionable for squishy centrists to tell everyone how much they dislike Rush Limbaugh. But it always turns out that those who arrogantly dismiss him never listened to him in the first place.
You go ahead, but I´ll tell you you don´t know what you are talking about because I have been a listener since the 80´s and Rush is right -always has been.

O´Reilly is a centrist. Rush is a Conservative. Real Conservatives stick by their Conservative allies. Centrists simply do what they think is best for themselves and the heck with everyone else. O´Reilly often said he is against the death penalty and all for hard labor in prison. Typical centrist since he knew there was no such thing as hard labor in prison but it sounded so compassionate. O´Reilly is nothing more than a younger Larry King.

One of the primary foci of the current cultural zeitgeist features the preoccupation, mounting to an obsession, with one or another form of sex, the more aberrant the better: The phobic obsession with rape, sympathetic coverage of re-assignment surgery and body modification, injunctions against deadnaming and heteronormativity, the emphasis on cisgender guilt, the sanctifying of gay marriage, the injustices of something called the “patriarchy,” the explosion of sexual harassment charges against media and political celebrities, the emphasis on sexualizing criminal justice proceedings in favor of women (aka gender disparity), and even legal bestiality. Others are vying for that distinction, including Theresa May of Britain and Shinzo Abe of Japan. Like Trump, Abe came to power on a claim that his country´s economy had been mismanaged. Worse, even if the USA Remains, and the repulsive payments flow, Paris offers no help in removing real air pollutants. Carbon dioxide isn’t one of them,

The Putin regime is hostile to the United States. Donald Trump’s infatuation with forging an alliance with Russia (much like his infatuation with crafting a peace deal between Israel and the Palestinians whose objective is to destroy Israel) has always struck me as reckless, occasionally repugnant, and always hopelessly naïve. Similarly naïve, and obnoxious to the American tradition of resisting royalty, is President Trump’s reliance in major matters of policy on his son-in-law and daughter, two young people who have little if any experience in many of their swelling areas of responsibility. The government in exile — the real one, according to the media — has had a busy week at home and abroad. “President Obama” has given up leading from behind and presumes now to lead from overseas. His secretary of state has a new mission, as missionary to the safe places where snowflakes fall. Mr. Obama joined German Chancellor Angela Merkel in Berlin to lecture America and the West to quit being so beastly to the strivers of the Third World, and open wider the borders of the West. “We can’t isolate ourselves,” the former president said from a platform at

New revelations have surfaced that the Obama administration abused intelligence during the election by launching a massive domestic-spy campaign that included snooping on Trump officials. The irony is mind-boggling: Targeting political opposition is long a technique of police states like Russia, which Team Obama has loudly condemned for allegedly using its own intelligence agencies to hack into our election. The revelations, as well as testimony this week from former Obama intel officials, show the extent to which the Obama administration politicized and weaponized intelligence against Americans. The hunt for the terror network behind the Manchester attack is now focusing on Libya, where bomber Salman Abedi’s father and brother were arrested Thursday and from which Abedi himself had only recently returned. That’s hardly surprising: South Manchester is home to one of the world’s largest Libyan expatriate communities, which in recent years has become a prime recruiting ground for young jihadists. And Libya itself is the base for an ISIS external-operations wing tasked with plotting terrorist attacks in Europe. Indeed, since the fall of Moammar Khadafy, Libya has become a haven for Islamist terrorist groups. Such is the

I admit to being slack-jawed over the New York Times report that President Trump smeared former FBI director James Comey in a conversation with representatives of Russia’s murderous, anti-American regime. The account, based on notes taken at the meeting and leaked to the Times, has implicitly been confirmed in a near-equally repugnant statement by the White House press secretary. Inexplicably, Trump chose to host Russian foreign minister Sergei Lavrov and ambassador Sergey Kislyak the day after he fired Comey in a maze of conflicting explanations (when none, by the way, was required). Naturally, this further fueled the Trump-Russia conspiracy narrative.

That’s because America contributes so much to rising temperatures.
