Paris attack: The unbelievable stupidity of ISIS
Fox News, by Andrew Peek

Original Article

The slaying of at least one police officer and the wounding of two others by an ISIS gunman in Paris on Thursday was yet another tragedy for France. It joins the long list of French atrocities committed by ISIS, from the Bataclan massacre in November 2015 to the truck rampage in Nice that killed 84 last summer. France is the perfect target for jihadists. It is an icon of Western pleasures, from the Champs-Élysées, where Thursday’s attack occurred, to the beaches of the Riviera and Nice. It has an aggressive foreign policy: contra the laugh-lines of congressmen from 2003, the French

Republicans repeal and replace the Tea Party

Even when Republicans control the White House and both houses of Congress, liberalism remains the default ideology of the federal government. A Republican Senate could not muster even 50 votes for the full repeal of Obamacare´s taxes and spending. Six Republican senators who had voted for repeal in 2015, when the party was merely pretending it was possible, flipped on Wednesday rather than deliver. Five of the six represent states President Trump won in November. The sixth hails from a state Trump lost by less than 3 points. An argument can be made that repealing these parts of Obamacare while leaving its regulatory

Once upon a time, the greatest sin journalists could commit was to make themselves a part of the story. On Sunday, MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski did just that, soaking up the fluorescent spotlight on the cover of New York magazine and dishing about their “star-crossed relationship with the president” — and, of course, each other — in its pages. During trying times, contentiousness between the press and the president has often morphed into spectacle, with anchors such as Sam Donaldson receiving flak from the public for seeming to enter the political arena rather than report or comment on

President Trump took a swipe at his attorney general on Wednesday for his failure to replace the acting FBI director — a curious critique give the statutory authority to appoint someone outside the normal line of succession rests squarely on the president’s shoulders. The president fired off a tweet attacking Attorney General Jeff Sessions — the third in three days — and questioned why he didn’t replace Acting FBI Director Andrew McCabe. “Why didn’t A.G. Sessions replace Acting FBI Director Andrew McCabe, a Comey friend who was in charge of Clinton investigation but got….big dollars ($700,000) for his wife’s political run from

As I write this, Jeff Sessions still has a job as America’s attorney general, though for all I know, he could be gone by the time you read this. You can’t label Sessions as some kind of globalist, malcontent, swampy NeverTrumper. He’s an anti-establishment immigration hard-liner who seems to have signed on with Trump’s presidential bid because he believed that Donald Trump was the one candidate who would build The Wall to protect America’s southern border and put a stop to illegal immigration. Now Sessions’ career is in tatters and, as Ann Coulter points out every day, the total number of Wall

But what about the open-borders overlords making a real killing off this insatiable racket? I´m looking at you, America-bashing corruptocrats in Mexico. Secretary of Defense James Mattis has ordered a full review of any military training not directly relevant to warfighting. Mattis told the services to conduct a review of the “requirements for mandatory force training that does not directly support core tasks,” according to a Friday memo obtained by Military Times. In other words, Mattis wants a full examination of all the hours of burdensome, irrelevant training service members have to undergo before deployment. “I want to verify that our military policies also support and enhance warfighting readiness and force lethality,” Mattis said. Mattis also asked for a review into what

Loyalty — fealty to one’s nation, religion or smaller social group — is one of those concepts that Americans have allowed to lose its meaning. The media are the most guilty because they have decided that loyalty to the nation depends on who is president. In 1993, Daniel Patrick Moynihan’s admonished American society for “defining deviancy down.” He was speaking of social, even criminal, behavior which had been intolerable but had become tolerable because society had lowered its standards by which the conduct of citizens was to be judged. Loyalty to our nation’s security, long thought to be a citizen’s duty,

This is tremendously stupid and does Sessions a terrible disservice in not acknowledging the sincerity of his ideology. The way Trump tells it here, you’d think Sessions had glommed on to him because he’s nothing more than a political frontrunner, eager to bask in the reflected glory of a more popular, charismatic politician. In reality, Sessions gambled heavily when he backed Trump. He could have made a safe play with his colleague Ted Cruz, the conservative choice; instead he went with a nationalist whom no one else in the Senate would endorse and who seemed like the longest longshot to

Early last year, executives at a small hospital an hour north of Spokane, Wash., started using a company called EmCare to staff and run their emergency room. The hospital had been struggling to find doctors to work in its E.R., and turning to EmCare was something hundreds of other hospitals across the country had done. That’s when the trouble began. Before EmCare, about 6 percent of patient visits in the hospital’s emergency room were billed for the most complex, expensive level of care. After EmCare arrived, nearly 28 percent got the highest-level billing code. On top of that, the hospital,

The new communications director, Anthony Scaramucci, would fix the White House’s “messaging problem.” Within 24 hours of Scaramucci’s appointment, the president returned to Twitter and unloaded another torrent of political bombshells, including talking about his power to pardon, even as his attorneys were denying that Donald Trump was thinking about pardoning anyone.

President Donald Trump’s Wednesday announcement on Twitter that transgender men and women will not be allowed to serve in the military “in any capacity” was not a complete surprise: Last month, Defense Secretary James Mattis announced that the military was hitting the pause button on an Obama-era plan to welcome openly transgender people into the military. But the announcement was a legal land mine. The Trump administration may soon learn that singling out a class of people for exclusion violates the constitutional guarantee of equal protection under the law. And as to those transgender soldiers already serving openly, any effort

President Donald Trump has been attacking his attorney general, Jeff Sessions, daily. There have been brutal attacks on Twitter, in media interviews, and during speeches. Conventional wisdom is that Trump is getting ready to fire Sessions or hoping Sessions resigns. Conventional wisdom also assured everyone that Hillary Clinton would win in a landslide, the only question being by how large a margin. Trump´s complaint is that his attorney general should not have recused himself from the Russia hacking hoax and that he is dragging his feet on long overdue investigations and prosecutions: Deep State leaks; unmasking; DNC and Clinton collusion

President Donald Trump’s dramatic decision to exclude so-called “transgender” people from the military is a direct rejection of the progressives’ revolutionary demand that Americans’ society should be remade to eliminate all civic recognition of the two different-and-complementary male and female sexes. (Tweets) The Wednesday decision was greeted with anger from the left, which had hoped that the military’s 2016 endorsement of the transgender ideology would push the Supreme Court and legislators nationwide to impose and establish the unpopular claim that a person’s changeable choice of “gender” is more legally important than their biological sex. Three-in-four white Democrats and left-leaning Americans find it “frustrating” and “stressful” to talk politics with people who have a different opinion of President Trump, according to a Pew Research poll released Thursday. While more than half of Americans find it stressful talking to people they disagree with on Trump, white Democrats were the most likely to find it uncomfortable -- much more than Republicans of any race. The findings are from a June 27-July 9 survey, which polled a representative sample of more than 2,500 Americans on political behaviors following Trump’s election. Among all racial groups, white Democrats were also most likely
