Neil Gorsuch´s wife, Louise: The outdoorsy,

Shortly after Neil M. Gorsuch was sworn in as America’s newest Supreme Court justice last week, he showed off his tender side: He hugged his wife, Louise, and then gently rested his head on her shoulder. Toward the end of his remarks that day, Gorsuch turned to his wife, who was behind him and said: “To my wife, Louise, and my daughters, Emma and Bindy, thank you for your perseverance d your patience, your courage and your love. I simply could not have attempted this without you.” Marie Louise Gorsuch was holding the family Bible at the ceremony and has

Love this: FTA....."“The wonderful thing about Louise,” Michael Trent, who has known Justice Gorsuch for 36 years and served as best man at his wedding, “is that she can be just as comfortable looking beautiful at the White House or in her wellies shoveling horse manure by the barn.”

Great people. It is about time the USA placed a real person on the court. The comment about Louise being comfortable in DC or the barn is great. It speaks volumes about who she is.

I suppose a story on Gorsuch´s wife is human interest, but she´s mostly irrelevant to his judicial responsiblities.

I agree with #5. There is only one question I would ask of any candidate for public office: "Will you obey the law?"

If the candidate cannot not honestly answer in the affirmative, he is disqualified.

Wednesday on Fox News Channel’s “The Story,” Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-SC) said it was concerning that while testifying before the House Intelligence Committee earlier in the day at a hearing on the alleged Russian hacking of the 2016 presidential election, former Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson said his department’s offer to help the Democratic National Committee was denied. Partial transcript as follows: MACCALLUM: What struck you most about your conversation with Jeh Johnson today? GOWDY: He is in a unique position to answer those questions. Protesters interrupted President Trump’s Wednesday rally in Iowa, but his crowd of supporters responded by drowning them out with a “USA” chant. Trump began his speech in Cedar Rapids by praising Republican victories in the Georgia and South Carolina special elections before offering prayers to House Majority Leader Steve Scalise, who was critically injured last week in the GOP baseball shooting. “I’d like to also take this moment to send our thoughts and prayers to our courageous friend, somebody that I’ve gotten to know very well — Steve Scalise,” Trump said as whistles blew in the background. Trump administration officials are seeking insight into U.S.-China relations from an unlikely source – the ancient Greek historian Thucydides who chronicled the Peloponnesian War between Athens and Sparta. Michael Crowley reports in Politico Magazine that Professor Graham Allison of the Harvard Kennedy School met with Trump’s National Security Council staffers last month to discuss the “Thucydides Trap” – a term he coined to explain how the fear of an emerging power can spark conflict with an established power. In Thucydides’ telling, “What made war inevitable was the growth of Athenian power and the fear which this caused in Sparta.” According

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi and other top Democrats put a brave face on Wednesday morning after a disappointing loss in the Georgia special election, yet there is no disguising the unhappiness in the party ranks. There is no challenge to Pelosi’s leadership, and none is going to happen at this point, said numerous Democrats. But it’s clear frustration is growing with the longtime Democratic leader following the extensive losses Democrats have suffered over the past half-decade. And the fact that Republicans spent millions of dollars on TV ads tying Democratic hopeful Jon Ossoff to Pelosi — and the brand

Law enforcement officials around the world are on high alert this week as ISIS calls for a surge of civilian attacks during Islam’s “Night of Power,” the holiest day on the Islamic calendar, which this year begins Wednesday evening. Known in Arabic as “Laylat al-Qadr,” it marks the night during the holy month of Ramadan that Muslims believe the Prophet Muhammad received the first revelations of the Quran. While the vast majority of Muslims consider the occasion as the best time in the year to pray for blessings and forgiveness, jihadist groups such as ISIS exploit the date to urge

Democrats pulled out all stops in their effort to show that the #Resistance isn’t just about marches and slogans and insulting the president, but also about flipping the House in 2018. Republican Karen Handel has defeated her upstart Democratic challenger in a Georgia runoff election. Handel, an experienced politician and former Secretary of State for Georgia, emerged on Tuesday night with a narrow win over 30-year-old Jon Ossoff. Incomplete returns show she is on track to receive about 53 per cent of the vote. Her narrow victory in Georgia´s 6th Congressional District allows Republicans a sigh of relief after the hotly-contested race, which is considered the most expensive in US House history. The special election was considered one of the first tests for Donald Trump´s controversial presidency, with voters given a chance to put another
