This is the moment a BBC report was interrupted by loud noises that police mistook for gunfire. The reporter was describing the ´tension´ in the French capital following an attack that left one policeman dead and two seriously injured. Then a sound like gunshots could be heard, which led to police shouting at the journalist and her cameraman to run for cover. At the start of the video, the reporter says: ´People in central Paris were too scared to leave their homes, the tension is palpable.´ After the loud bangs, she says: ´A sudden noise where we were was mistaken for gunfire and

North Korea has accused the United States of blocking the hermit state from importing frozen chicken and swimming flippers due to stringent economic sanctions. Pyongyang accused Donald Trump of attempting to ´suffocate´ its economy and claimed the nation´s nuclear ambitions were entirely legitimate and required to defend itself from the United States. The country´s foreign ministry said if testing or possessing nuclear weapons was wrong, then the US and other nuclear superpowers should be subjected to economic sanctions as well. The statement included a long list of non-military-use items that it says have been impacted by the trade bans, including frozen chicken,

Shocking images showed police pointing their weapons at a man being held on the ground. He was later escorted into a van and driven away. So it has come to this -- No Republican is safe, whether it’s Jeff Sessions in the Senate on Tuesday, or Congressional Republicans at a baseball practice in Virginia on Wednesday. Wednesday’s shooting, from a gunman identified as a Bernie Sanders supporter, hit and wounded House (GOP) Majority Whip Steve Scalise and others. They were sent to the hospital. Scalise’s condition is apparently most serious, but all are hopefully expected to recover. But will the republic, seeing how the Democrats are on a tear; them and all leftists who call themselves the Resistance. That means resistance to President Trump. The gunman (now dead from

Russian President Vladimir Putin said Thursday that his country is ready to grant former FBI Director James Comey asylum if he´s prosecuted by the Trump administration. Putin was participating in his annual Q&A and his remarks were reported by Russia Today, the Kremlin-controlled English language news network. ´If this entails some kind of prosecution against him, we are ready to grant him asylum in Russia,´ Putin said of Comey. ´He should be aware of that.´ Putin tried to articulate that Comey´s decision to leak his memos, through a pal at Columbia University, to the media put him in a vulnerable position. ´He suddenly

An Iranian naval patrol boat shined a laser at a Marine Corps helicopter flying over the Strait of Hormuz in what officials said was an unsafe encounter. US Navy Commander Bill Urban said Wednesday the Iranian vessel also turned its spotlight on two Navy ships that were moving through the strait on Tuesday. Urban, a U.S. Fifth Fleet spokesman, said the Iranian boat came within 800 yards of the USS Bataan, an amphibious assault ship, and scanned it from bow to stern with the spotlight. It also shined the light on the USS Cole, a guided missile destroyer. esday The Marine CH-53E Super Stallion

As Fox News moves further into the post–Roger Ailes era, the network is shedding one of its most iconic elements. According to network executives, Fox News has abandoned the marketing slogan “Fair & Balanced.” The decision was made last August after Ailes’s ouster by Fox News co-president Jack Abernethy, because the phrase had “been mocked,” one insider said. Another executive explained that the tagline was “too closely associated with Roger.” Fox executives have been instructed by management to market the network by its other tagline: “Most Watched. The Huffington Post pulled a piece calling for the “execution” of President Donald Trump published Saturday by contributor Jason Fuller. Fuller’s piece contained rhetoric and imagery that seems tasteless, particularly after Wednesday’s events. Fuller boldly declares in the title that “Trump must be prosecuted — if convicted in a court of law — executed.” Fuller doesn’t stop there, however, as he insists that “impeachment isn’t enough” to “drain the swamp,” and to do so means doling out the “ultimate punishment [execution]” in order to fully restore the moral compass of the U.S. Fuller’s “ultimate punishment” is not only reserved for

Seven percent of all American adults believe that chocolate milk comes from brown cows, according to a nationally representative online survey commissioned by the Innovation Center of U.S. Dairy. If you do the math, that works out to 16.4 million misinformed, milk-drinking people. The equivalent of the population of Pennsylvania (and then some!) does not know that chocolate milk is milk, cocoa and sugar. But while the survey has attracted snorts and jeers from some corners — “um, guys, [milk] comes from cows — and not just the brown kind,” snarked Food & Wine — the most surprising thing about this figure may

The special counsel overseeing the investigation into Russia’s role in the 2016 election is interviewing senior intelligence officials as part of a widening probe that now includes an examination of whether President Trump attempted to obstruct justice, officials said. The move by Special Counsel Robert S. Mueller III to investigate Trump’s own conduct marks a major turning point in the nearly year-old FBI investigation, which until recently focused on Russian meddling during the presidential campaign and on whether there was any coordination between the Trump campaign and the Kremlin. House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., argued Thursday that Republicans are more responsible for the downfall of political discourse than Democrats a day after House Majority Whip Steve Scalise, R-La., was shot during a practice ahead of the congressional charity baseball game.
