This is the moment a BBC report was interrupted by loud noises that police mistook for gunfire. The reporter was describing the ´tension´ in the French capital following an attack that left one policeman dead and two seriously injured. Then a sound like gunshots could be heard, which led to police shouting at the journalist and her cameraman to run for cover. At the start of the video, the reporter says: ´People in central Paris were too scared to leave their homes, the tension is palpable.´ After the loud bangs, she says: ´A sudden noise where we were was mistaken for gunfire and

President Donald Trump tore into the nuclear pact with Iran today, deriding it as a ´terrible agreement´ that ´shouldn´t have been signed.´ His administration is analyzing it, Trump said, referring to the 90-day review Secretary of State Rex Tillerson initiated Tuesday. ´I’m all for agreements, but that was a bad one, as bad as I’ve ever seen negotiated,´ the billionaire, and former businessman, said during a White House press conference. ´They are not living up to the spirit of the agreement, I can tell you that,´ he added. Tillerson branded the Iran deal a failure Wednesday. The State Department official admitted in a

DONALD TRUMP has sent his condolences to France and said the deadly shooting of a police officer in the Champs Elysees in Paris looks "like another terror attack". The US President paid his respects after one police officer was killed and two others seriously injured in the deadly shooting, despite initial reports saying two police officers had been killed. He said: "Our condolences from our country to the people of France, again it is happening. "It is a terrible thing that is going on in the world today but it looks like another terrorist attack and what can you say, it never

Boris Johnson met a top delegation of US politicians today to discuss striking a post-Brexit free trade deal and the growing danger of war with North Korea. The Foreign Secretary held talks with Republican House Speaker Paul Ryan, where they restated their commitment to the ‘special relationship’. They discussed global insecurity amid fears that North Korea could trigger World War 3. And they discussed military action in Syria and stressed their commitment to the military alliance Nato. A source close to the Foreign Secretary told the Mail Online: “They said they want to get working as soon as is possible on a trade

Local Afghan leaders have called the massive bomb that was dropped in eastern Afghanistan last Thursday ´very successful´ and are pleased with the results. US troops are still battling suspected Islamic State fighters near the site where the GBU-43 Massive Ordnance Air Blast bomb, nicknamed ´the mother of all bombs´ was dropped from an American MC-130 aircraft in the Achin district of Nangarhar province, bordering Pakistan, last week. But local Afghan leaders have said they ´all are happy´ with the results of the bomb, which had an official insurgent death toll of 96. US, Afghan and local authorities say there were no

Calls are growing for the heroic McDonald´s workers who trapped the Facebook killer Steve Stephens at a drive-thru to get the $50,000 reward for his capture. After two days on the run, the murderer´s reign of terror came to an end on Tuesday morning - thanks to the bravery of two employees at the Buffalo Road in Erie branch. Recognizing him as the man who shot dead Robert Godwin, 74, on Sunday, they delayed him long enough for police to arrive and give chase - leading to Stephens´ death by suicide. It was assumed the workers would split the reward offered by various

"How will history judge Barack Obama in terms of his policies and actions toward the Middle East?" asked UCLA Professor of Middle Eastern History James Gelvin at UC Berkeley. A crowd of around 100 students and faculty, some in Muslim attire, crammed into a small conference room in the Center for Middle Eastern Studies in Stephens Hall to hear Gelvin´s lecture. The venue was tight and some students squatted just outside the door near a cameraman filming the lecture for online distribution. He spoke with a map of the Middle East projected onto a wall behind him and near a series of

If you cheered the return of Bob Beckel to the Fox News lineup, and if it made your day that Marie Harf was added to the roster as an on-call “expert,” it means that Fox News is headed in your direction – leftward. They’re standing tall in the Murdoch empire as the mighty keep falling. Bill O’Reilly is out. It’s official. The network’s biggest draw over a period of some 20 years was let go due to alleged improper behavior towards women. Five of them, it’s been reported, were paid some $13 million all together to stay quiet. So it’s “sexual

Gates said that giving aid is not only philanthropic, but in Britain´s interest to help stabilise poorer countries. After two decades of working together, Clinton had come to regard Huma Abedin as something like her second daughter. Abedin was actually ‘a disaster waiting to happen,´ according to a blockbuster new book. Clinton’s closeness to Abedin blinded her to the fact that she was a ‘major vulnerability’ because of her personal baggage. Abedin’s husband Anthony Weiner was the reason the FBI re-opened their investigation into Clinton’s emails less than two weeks before the election. And as a result Clinton faced the ‘gut wrenching’ decision about whether she should put her own political survival above her vice chairwoman’s enduring loyalty. Twenty years of service to

The Murdochs have decided Bill O’Reilly’s 21-year run at Fox News will come to an end. According to sources briefed on the discussions, network executives are preparing to announce O’Reilly’s departure before he returns from an Italian vacation on April 24. Now the big questions are how the exit will look and who will replace him. Wednesday morning, according to sources, executives are holding emergency meetings to discuss how they can sever the relationship with the country’s highest-rated cable-news host without causing collateral damage to the network. The board of Fox News’ parent company, 21st Century Fox, is scheduled to

When Bill O’Reilly left for vacation on April 11, he stressed that the break was pre-planned to counter the notion that it had something to do with with the New York Times’ revelation that five women were paid $13 million to settle harassment claims against him. A week later, it looks increasingly unlikely that he’ll ever return to his show. New York’s Gabriel Sherman reported on Tuesday afternoon that “the Murdochs are leaning toward announcing that O’Reilly will not return to the air,” according to three sources. Later that evening multiple outlets said support for O’Reilly is eroding within Fox News.

Chelsea Clinton likes cheddar cheese and Twitter and hates that America can’t come to grips with what the Clinton Foundation actually does. Oh, and her mother lost because voters are sexist. Speaking to Variety magazine (she graces the cover in a white t-shirt, motorcycle jacket and a lot of Photoshop work), Clinton says she’s definitely not interested in running for office, but if she were, she’d have to contend with American voters who stubbornly refuse to acknowledge exactly how much she and her family have contributed to their lives. The former First Daughter says she was “not surprised” at the blatant sexism

An article in the Guardian last week provides more confirmation that John Brennan was the American progenitor of political espionage aimed at defeating Donald Trump. One side did collude with foreign powers to tip the election — Hillary’s. Seeking to retain his position as CIA director under Hillary, Brennan teamed up with British spies and Estonian spies to cripple Trump’s candidacy. He used their phony intelligence as a pretext for a multi-agency investigation into Trump, which led the FBI to probe a computer server connected to Trump Tower and gave cover to Susan Rice, among other Hillary supporters, to spy on

The knives are out in Hillary Clinton’s camp about who leaked embarrassing information to the authors of a bombshell new book about her “doomed presidential campaign.” There is a witch hunt underway among Clinton’s presidential campaign staffers after the release of the autopsy book, “Shattered: Inside Hillary Clinton’s Doomed Campaign” by journalists Jonathan Allen and Amie Parnes. We’re told the details in the book, which depicts the campaign as inept, “could only have come from someone in the inner circle.” Dennis Cheng, the finance director of Clinton’s presidential campaign, has been sending out messages to determine where the leaks come from.

Chelsea Clinton is advancing the conversation on menstruation and breastfeeding, two women’s issues that are still met with stigmatization around the world.
