Bill O’Reilly Has to Go

The Murdochs have decided Bill O’Reilly’s 21-year run at Fox News will come to an end. According to sources briefed on the discussions, network executives are preparing to announce O’Reilly’s departure before he returns from an Italian vacation on April 24. Now the big questions are how the exit will look and who will replace him. Wednesday morning, according to sources, executives are holding emergency meetings to discuss how they can sever the relationship with the country’s highest-rated cable-news host without causing collateral damage to the network. The board of Fox News’ parent company, 21st Century Fox, is scheduled to

Well, that´s it for me and cable. Fox News and Turner Classic Movies is all I watch anyway. TCM is not what it was since Robert Osborne has been gone, and with O´Reilly out then there´s no reason to watch Fox anymore. What a craven bunch of weasels.

Now he has all the credentials for running for a Dem office!

Not a fan of Bill O´Reilly, but I hate that the lefties got his scalp.

And if Fox thinks this shows they have some sort of standards, remember they rehired Bob Beckel and Geraldo, neither of whom are stellar in the character department.

FTA: "Executives are currently debating possible replacement hosts. Names that have been discussed include Eric Bolling, Dana Perino, and Tucker Carlson, who would move from his successful 9 p.m. slot and create a need for a new host at that time. One source said Sean Hannity is happy at 10 p.m. and would not want to move."

"Late last week, the feeling inside the company was that Rupert Murdoch would prevail over his son James, who lobbied to jettison the embattled host. It’s still unclear exactly how the tide turned. According to one source, Lachlan Murdoch’s wife helped convince her husband that O’Reilly needed to go, which moved Lachlan into James’s corner."

The Murdoch sons are going to kill the goose that laid the golden egg. You can already see their imprint on FNC and it is NOT good. I see more and more individuals from Politico than I have ever seen before.

I´m no longer a fan of O´Reilly, that changed years ago when he totally caved to the vile Obama and covered for his transgressions. That said, what happened here is evidence of how powerful those on the left are, including the Murdoch sons. We should all be horrified and very afraid. If they can get rid of Bill O´Reilly, a powerful man and the cash cow of FNC, they can and will destroy anyone. The Democrats are the first to scream about McCarthyism. This is it on steroids. The Democrats specialize in it. They are doing the same with Trump.

Dana Perino should NEVER be allowed to fill that slot. She is weak, irritating and could never carry that show. Tucker should take that slot and move Martha McCallum to 90.

Marie Harf, Ezekial, Shep, Beckel, Juan Williams, Megyn McCain, Geraldo, Dana Perino stay... O´Reilly goes???? Fox is losing their mind. They changed when Trump ran for president & they will never be he same. They are better than abccbsnbccnn but they have room for improvement. I miss the old Fox! #17, actually, the entertainment factor with BOR is his pomposity and bloviating, not to mention his relentless hawking of his books.I first starting watching his show because I was fascinated how he got away with his endless self-promotion. I also agree with him on some of his causes, like the war on Christmas. He is pretty good on illegal immigration, too. The ratings don´t lie. A lot of other people find him entertaining, too.

Don´t have to agree with everything anybody says, including O´Reilly. This is bad news, and no doubt lefties are celebrating their victory. Lately O´Reilly has been riding hard on the leaks, wiretapping, etc., and to shut him up it´s no surprise lefties crawled out from under their rocks. That the Murdoch boys want him out shows what their end game is for FOX -- just another alphabet no-news network. Once FOX´s makeover is done, then what? Tucker is okay, but there´s so much crosstalk and arguing. Perino´s whiny voice grates like fingernails on a chalkboard...

I agree...bad move for FOX and another victory for the Left who will try to ruin anyone they feel has too much power or success. Although I am disheartened by the direction of FOX under the "leadership" of the Murdoch brothers, in some ways it´s a deliberate suicide choice and I won´t be too upset to see their ratings go into the tank.
Why is it the Liberals always point the finger towards the Trump children but you don´t hear one word against the Murdochs, who obviously are in the same situation...grew up and inherited a vast international empire. Then there´s adorable Chelsea, but that´s another story.
As far as 0´Reilly, time will tell regarding the accusations (again, note how the media refused to cover Bill Clinton´s rape charges and are rabid about these allegations?)

A big NO to Perino. No, no no! I don´t think she could carry an hour show night in and night out.
I hope Bill can fight some legal wars with Gloria Allred´s spawn, Lisa Bloom. Those two play dirty and certainly not a good image to their already dubious profession.

The first time BOR was accused of sexual harassment it was settled out of court. You know the one that introduced loufah to American children. I didn´t know if there was anything to it or if it was a move for money. But, another time - and it´s looking like when the floodgates opened up on Tiger Woods - come on. I note with sadness that there is the usual rush of Republicans to get in on the latest Dimmi kill. This is akin to zebras hanging back and watching the slaughter after the lions have brought down one of the herd.

Meanwhile far worse is protected and applauded by Dimmis and many Republicans. We are a herd species and stoopid but organized beats intelligent but fractured every time.

In an interview with Fox News’ Howard Kurtz (MediaBuzz), White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer pushed back against the accusations of CNN’s most delicate whaaambulance passenger Jim Acosta, who complains about the lack of press briefings aired on television. “It’s sad that he believes if it doesn’t occur on TV — I think some of these reporters are more interested in their YouTube clips than they are in getting factual news. You look at the number of questions asked over and over again just so the reporter can get a clip of themselves saying something or yelling at someone.” Spicer

Republican candidates will be bolstered by up to $400 million of outside spending from the Koch brothers´ network of donors in the lead up to the 2018 midterms, the group said Saturday. “Three-hundred million to $400 million for this cycle for politics and policy -- we believe we’re headed to the high end of that range,” said Tim Phillips, who heads Americans for Prosperity, a group funded by conservative billionaire financiers Charles and David Koch. “What we’re urging Republicans in the House and the Senate to do is to be bold, to go big,” Phillips said, emphasizing tax and health

Rainbow-decorated CTA rail cars are rolling this weekend to mark the 48th annual Pride Parade Sunday on the North Side. The Chicago Transit Authority and Mayor Emanuel both touted the four decorated cars cars on Twitter. They’ll operate on the Red Line. The trains are decorated with self-adhesive vinyl wraps; it’s the first time the CTA has done a promotional wrap for Pride Weekend, according to Brian Steele, vice president of communications and marketing for CTA. A “handful” of graphic designers at CTA are responsible for the design parade-goers may see. “There were two reasons why we wanted to do

A feminist magazine is calling on all white women to “do their part to prevent white supremacy” and abort their white babies. This is sick beyond words. The feminist Medusa Magazine reported: In a progressive society, it is often white families that stand in the way of equality and justice. Systemic white supremacy depends, first and foremost, on the white family unit. When white conquerors forcefully penetrated the indigenous, egalitarian homeland of the Native peoples of America, they were quick to replicate their white societies, initiating their parasitism by establishing white plantations, headed by white fathers, submissive white mothers, and,

Frustrated Democrats who want to replace House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi have an urgent problem: there is no alternative. After leading the House Democrats for 15 years, the San Francisco stalwart has total control of her caucus and is a massive fundraising force that her party cannot easily replace. And as the first female Speaker of the House (2007-2011), she has unique status and an array of female supporters, both inside and outside Congress. Willie Brown, the first African-American mayor from Pelosi’s hometown, cautions in his latest column in the San Francisco Chronicle that those who want to replace Pelosi

President Trump Sunday accused Hillary Clinton of colluding with the Democratic party to beat Bernie Sanders and become the Democratic nominee in the 2016 presidential election. "Hillary Clinton colluded with the Democratic Party in order to beat Crazy Bernie Sanders. Is she allowed to collude? Unfair to Bernie," Trump tweeted. (Tweet) A DNC email leak released by WikiLeaks in July 2016 appeared to show the DNC favoring Hillary Clinton as the Democratic nominee over Sanders. Trump has repeatedly criticized the Democrats for favoring Clinton during the primary process despite the fact that he defeated her

COVFEFE was the subject of much speculation, mostly on the left, as to what it might have meant. In this case, one of the troops has helpfully given the answer: rising military morale. You never saw such repetitions of presidential words during the Obama administration. Did anyone ever stamp ´You didn´t build that´ or ´If you like

The end of the Supreme Court term looms, and with it the prospect — the terrifying prospect — of a retirement. Specifically, the retirement of Justice Anthony M. Kennedy, who will turn 81 next month and is the longest-serving current justice, named to the high court almost 30 years ago. So if Kennedy is inclined to retire, it is hard to begrudge him that choice. But his departure would be terrible for the court and terrible for the country. It could not come at a worse time. Any court vacancy these days, under a president of either party, triggers a battle

A senior US Energy Department official appointed by the Trump administration once described Barack Obama as a “Kenyan creampuff”, Mark Zuckerberg as an “arrogant, self-hating Jew” and climate scientists as “cultists” and “nuts”, according to a report. William C Bradford, director of the Department’s Office of Indian Energy, also appeared to believe Mr Obama might refuse to step down after his two terms of office, asking “what will we do? Is a military coup the only answer?” The messages were posted on a since-deleted Twitter account, @Brute_Bradford, The Washington Post revealed. Previously Mr Bradford caused

At last we know why Chicago’s homicide level is so out of control: Gangs, not police control the streets. The gangs know it; the police know it; and now, thanks to DNAinfo.com/Chicago, we know it. A week ago, Chicago street gangs held a huge party in a park, with a thousand people attending, some brandishing firearms, terrifying neighbors for hours. The police sent 25 squad cars, yet were outnumbered and unable to really do anything. (snip)Obviously, there is no political will to take back control of the streets. So everyone gets the message that gangs rule. No wonder the murder

Ramadan will come to an end this weekend with the major Muslim festival of Eid al-Fitr, and thus far President Donald Trump’s recognition of Islam’s holiest month has been limited to a statement that almost exclusively addressed violence and terrorism. Breaking with a tradition that dates back more than 20 years, to Bill Clinton’s administration, the White House will not be hosting an iftar—the meal Muslims consume to break their fast—in 2017.

There is a place for contempt in our public discourse. We should have contempt for a regime in North Korea that brutalized a young American student named Otto Warmbier. We should have contempt for a regime in Syria that uses poison gas to massacre innocent men, women and children. We should have contempt for Islamic State terrorists who behead Americans, burn people alive in cages and systematically rape Yazidi girls. But we should not have contempt for each other. Yet, we do. Our politics today is descending into a bitter spiral of contempt. And we saw the consequences in the

The New York Post has an explosive report on the infamous “dossier” that tried to smear Donald Trump in order to swing the presidential election to Hillary Clinton. So I’ve been wondering: Why on earth does a prosecutor, brought in to investigate a case in which there is no apparent crime, need a staff of 14 lawyers? Or, I should say, “14 lawyers and counting.” According to the press spokesman for special counsel Robert Mueller—yeah, he’s got a press spokesman, too—there are “several more in the pipeline.” Concededly, none of Mueller’s recruits requires Senate confirmation, as do Justice Department officials—notwithstanding that the former may end up playing a far more consequential role in the fate of the Trump administration. But does it seem strange to anyone else that, by comparison,
