Fox Is Reportedly Preparing
for Bill O’Reilly’s Exit

New York Magazine, by Margaret Hartmann

Original Article

Posted By:MissMolly, 4/19/2017 4:56:26 AM

When Bill O’Reilly left for vacation on April 11, he stressed that the break was pre-planned to counter the notion that it had something to do with with the New York Times’ revelation that five women were paid $13 million to settle harassment claims against him. A week later, it looks increasingly unlikely that he’ll ever return to his show. New York’s Gabriel Sherman reported on Tuesday afternoon that “the Murdochs are leaning toward announcing that O’Reilly will not return to the air,” according to three sources. Later that evening multiple outlets said support for O’Reilly is eroding within Fox News.

The progressive weakening of Fox News is surely not happenstance. There are forces that want the only news network that is not fake news taken out...

Whether these allegations are true or not does not matter. They paid $13 million to shut these women up so that is a done deal. If he was truly innocent no money should have been paid.

"Baby" Murdochs are lefties and BOR was effective in helping to elect Trump.
They want him out of way to weaken Trump- and Conservatives.
Sick of these whiny Feminists.
Stand up for yourself or leave.
Allegations that he " leered" at someone who wasn´t even an employee from 10 years ago are ludicrous.
Left wants to remove an effective Conservative voice- saw Bushie Perino tonight - no thanks- we know who she. Represents and not interested in Bush Dynasty.
Will DVD Tucker and Hannity and the rest can join CNN in oblivion.

Tucker Carlson is the rising star on FOX and should be moved to O’Reilly’s slot. Hannity is doing well and should be moved to Tucker Carlson’s slot. No one cares who takes Hannity’s slot.

Eric Bolling´s been doing Fridays for Bill for years, it seems. And Dana Perino has done the slot twice this week, and she seems to to be the risingest star there.
Good chance they´ll split the duties to see who the viewers like best (better?).

Not Dana peRINO!!! Beside her political views...her screechy voice when she stats to get obnoxious....wow, it´s like an ice pick in the ear! But how she screamed and screeched at Eric Boling accusing him of trying to get a job with TRUMP was totally unacceptable and unprofessional showing us what she´s really made of.

So screech on sister but do it on MSNBC!

I bet that if Bill wasn´t wealthy and made some pass at some woman they wouldn´t pay any attention to him. But because he has some money they will pounce on him for whatever they could get, either fame of fortune.

Rock on BIll even though you have fallen from where you were originally you should stand up to some of these woman that want your money. There will always be leaches...on both side. It would make for great TV. s/o

Guess that leaves me with Greg Gutfeld´s show to watch on Fox. I used to think he show was pretty lame, then got to liking it. Very tired of the Fox ´stable´ of long haired ladies. They must have long days. They´re on from early morning until late at night. Liked Tucker Carlson when he first started but now he gets muted too when the lib guests start running their mouths and won´t stop talking. Tired of Dana Perino´s dog (and Dana Perino too). She even had him on a show last week, it was his birthday and he was in a chair at the table. Gack. I guess it´s time to give up on Fox News. I did hear O´Reilly talking about fake lawsuits while he was still on the air so is he or isn´t he guilty.

If you can´t see that this OLD news being spun as NEW news is an orchestrated effort to pick off our conservative voices one by one, then there is no hope for us. The leftoid wagon of personal destruction is rolling down the street, aiming for our very few successful media figureheads---just like a literal version of the terrorists´ technique of mowing down victims with vehicles.
This BOR news is not NEW. You´ve got to ask yourself WHY is it being revived NOW? Can´t you see that this is an orchestrated effort to discredit WTP--- probably being run behind the curtain in Moorea? The goal is to have no media opposition left so that by the midterms in 2018 there will be no outlet for our viewpoint?
They won´t stop with O´Reilly. Rush, Hannity and Levin will be next. They all have skeletons in their closets. These guys need our support and they need it NOW! WHY is it the left can count on us bailing on each other---why can they count on us making judgments about a person who hasn´t said a single word on the subject? It doesn´t matter a bit if you like BOR or not. Can´t you see the forest through the trees? Instead of letting the MSM divide us by spoon-feeding us old news which they hope will spark our moral outrage, we should instead be calling FOX and demanding that they keep O´Reilly or we will collectively STOP watching ANYTHING on FOX at all.

I think the Murdoch "boys" should be careful. O"Reilly may flirt, or even leer (?) but he certainly never raped or bloodied as did our fabled ex President Clinton, nor slept with 1/2 the staff as did unlovable David Letterman, a Dem, or................I really don´t think this is about sexual harassment, but about wounding the brand. I am female, a Conservative woman, and old enough to know whether I am offended, without George Soros and Company pushing the issue. (I am also old enough to boycott the boycotting sponsors and remember when "they" pulled the same stuff with Rush Limbaugh years ago, Snapple in particular, and the brand went down 70% in sales and has never regained its glory.) The Murdoch youngness´ may be destroying the whole deal, ticking us all off.

I agree with #20. Since the Left’s dirty tricks have been unsuccessful against President Trump they have turned their arsenal towards any leading conservative voice. I’ve never cared for Mr. O’Reilly, even during his heyday, but this current smear job is blatantly obvious. It also highlights a major difference between the Left and the Right; the Left will uniformly support any of their number under attack whether the charges are true or false, while the Right will abandon those that the attackers have separated from the herd whether the charges are true or false. This point is made often and the reasons vary from publicly upholding conservative values, to just plain cowardice and complicity with the Uniparty agenda.

Allegations of ungentlemanly behavior have been a staple in the political arena since the first election was held casting seashells. Despite defiant calls of “girrrl power” and the feminists insisting they can handle anything “just like a man,” they’re still adamant that the culture protect them against cads. Even as they mock chivalry when it opens a door for them, they are adamant that the chivalric code be enforced when the supposed perpetrator is a non-Lefty. Cognitive dissonance is a way of life for those with the goal to “totally transform America.”

Since false sexual charges against men are not a new phenomenon by any means and unsubstantiated claims are the staple of the Left, the current O’Reilly flap spotlights the wisdom of VP Pence’s practice to never be alone with a woman not his wife. The obvious reason the Pence’s were attacked for their traditional ways of protecting their marriage was because those practices make it impossible to smear with easy sexual innuendo. I bet old Bill now wishes he had stayed with wife #1.

I agree with above posters that this is an attempt to pick off vocal and powerful voices that present politically incorrect stories.

Yes, O´Reilly has become way too full of himself, BUT, he is the only consistent media voice to talk about crime and illegal immigrants He gave voice to Kate Steinle and her family. He is the ONLY one. That started the entire movement of victims´ families coming forward and propelled Trump to embrace those families during the campaign.

O´Reilly has never, ever backed down on this issue and for that he must be silenced.

I´m sick to death of these so-called women´s groups who are marching around in dizzying distress over so-called sexual harassment claims. The fact that they never said ONE WORD about either President Clinton or Hillary Clinton as an enabler during her election, has shown they have ZERO credibility.

O´Reilly should be supported. I keep waiting for Roger Ailes to start another network. Do it Roger with your money, O´Reilly´s money and Rush and Hannity´s money. Do it now!

The accusations against BOR are much less serious than those about the actions of Clinton. . . mostly smart Alec comments which we KNOW is the norm for BOR. This whole thing is the definition of leftist smearing and I´m sorry it seems to be working. The network paying off theses snowflakes was just an invitation to all. . . invent whatever you want and we´ll pay you a bundle. What did they expect to happen after that?
Sadly, since it worked her in achieving the leftists´ goals, we´ll see it repeated ad nauseam.

I think O´Reilly should stay unless these harassment stories are true which would indicate he has a mental illness. I always am happy when Mark Steyn hosts for Rush. Much more amusing, less repetitious and far less in the tank for the Republican party. He´s so much better than Rush that I wonder whether he could keep it up day after day.

Whenever a tragic event hits the news—whether it’s as monumental as the thousands dying on 9/11, or as personal as the crew perishing on the Challenger space shuttle—something predictable happens afterwards. People make jokes. It’s part of human nature. Something is so awful, you have to laugh to keep from crying. But here’s the thing—previously, these jokes were underground. They’d be passed quietly from person to person, sometimes with a sense of embarrassment. You wouldn’t turn on the TV or read a humor column to find them. Now, however, it seems the atmosphere has become so ugly that TV, and widely-read websites, are the

I was the op-ed editor at The Wall Street Journal at the peak of the Whitewater scandal. We ran a series of investigative pieces “raising serious questions” (as we say in the scandal business) about the nefarious things the Clintons were thought to have done back in Arkansas. A series of bombshell revelations came out in the media, which seemed monumental at the time. A special prosecutor was

As news spread through the rest of the 7th Fleet that seven sailors had perished when the USS Fitzgerald collided with a container ship, the crew of another hard-luck destroyer assembled on its stern. The USS Cole had lost 17 sailors to a terrorist bomb in 2000. The current crew gave tribute to their ill-fated comrades from Saturday’s collision by standing in formation in the shape of the digits 62, the hull number for the destroyer Fitzgerald. “Few words can express our sorrow for the loss of our USS Fitzgerald (DDG 62) shipmates—a simple picture must try,” read the caption when the

The attempted assassination of House Majority Whip Steve Scalise and his GOP colleagues on the baseball field in Alexandria last week somehow prompted Pelley’s comment on the day after: “It’s time to ask whether the attack on the United States Congress, yesterday, was foreseeable, predictable and, to some degree, self-inflicted” (video below). Pelley of course answered the question that approximately no one was asking in the affirmative. You have to love that “to some degree.” Pelley didn’t say that

Senate Democrats took over the floor to protest Neil Gorsuch’s nomination to the Supreme Court. Okay—that’s not exactly fair. It was mostly Sen. Jeff Merkley (D-OR), but they held another slumber party over global warming. Over on the House side, Democrats occupied the floor to force a vote on gun control after the horrific mass shooting at the LGBT Pulse nightclub in Orlando. And now, Democrats are going to takeover the Senate floor again for the lack of transparency over the GOP health care bill…until about midnight (via Politico):(Snip for video)Senate Democrats are escalating their attack on Republicans’ plans to

Glyphosate is the active ingredient in RoundUp, the most widely used herbicide in the world. Glyphosate is a non-selective herbicide, meaning it will kill just about any plant. Since it would kill the crop as well as the weeds, for quite a few years it couldn’t be used over the top of an emerging crop. Instead, its use was restricted to lower-value burndown situations, where weeds in a field would be killed prior to planting, or, e.g., to keep down weeds on railroad rights of way. The first commercially successful genetic modification, carried out by Monsanto, which owned the patents on

Tuesday’s special election in Georgia’s sixth congressional district will decide whether Republican Karen Handel or Democrat Jon Ossoff occupies the seat once held by former House speaker Newt Gingrich. Former House Budget Committee chairman Tom Price, M.D. recently vacated GA-6 to become health and human services secretary. This constituency has been Republican since November 1978. If Democrats capture this reliably GOP territory, the Left will scream: “Republicans beware: Trump is political poison!” Squishy GOP senators and congressmen will race for the tall grass, as ambitious Democratic challengers head in after them. These nervous Republicans will bite their fingernails, rather than

During Kevin Steele’s successful election campaign for District Attorney of Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, in 2015, he attacked the longtime incumbent, Bruce Castor, for having “refused to prosecute Bill Cosby” and promised “tough sentences for sexual predators.” After taking office, District Attorney Steele immediately moved on his promise to vindicate Bill Cosby’s victims, arresting and charging Cosby for the sexual assault of Andrea Constand, one of nearly sixty women to have accused Cosby of sexual assault over several decades. But Cosby’s criminal trial, on three counts of indecent assault for the 2004 incident, ended in a mistrial due to a hung

Turns out…money can’t buy you love. Or a House seat in Georgia’s 6th District. Democrats pulled out all stops in their effort to show that the #Resistance isn’t just about marches and slogans and insulting the president, but also about flipping the House in 2018. They poured tens of millions of dollars into what became the most expensive House race ever, trying to elect 30-year-old nonentity Jon Ossoff to fill the seat of HHS head Tom Price. They cast the race as a referendum on Donald Trump, and a bellwether for 2018. Republicans will be elated with the outcome, and hopeful

Republican Karen Handel staved off a furious challenge from Democrat Jon Ossoff on Tuesday in a race to represent a suburban Atlanta seat in Congress, as the GOP and President Donald Trump avoided an embarrassing defeat in the most expensive U.S. House contest in history. A former Georgia secretary of state, Handel emphasized her experience and roots in Georgia’s 6th Congressional District to defeat Ossoff and keep a seat that’s long been held by Republicans in GOP hands. She becomes Georgia’s first female Republican member of the U.S. House.

MISSISSAUGA, Ont. -- Video of a woman demanding for her son to be seen by a "white doctor" at a walk-in clinic in Ontario has gone viral. CTV Toronto reports the four-minute argument was recorded by a patient in the waiting room at the Rapid Access to Medical Specialists clinic on Sunday. Republican Karen Handel has defeated her upstart Democratic challenger in a Georgia runoff election. Handel, an experienced politician and former Secretary of State for Georgia, emerged on Tuesday night with a narrow win over 30-year-old Jon Ossoff. Incomplete returns show she is on track to receive about 53 per cent of the vote. Her narrow victory in Georgia´s 6th Congressional District allows Republicans a sigh of relief after the hotly-contested race, which is considered the most expensive in US House history. The special election was considered one of the first tests for Donald Trump´s controversial presidency, with voters given a chance to put another

Democrat Jon Ossoff conceded the Georgia special election runoff to Republican Karen Handel Tuesday night, even as he argued that "fight goes on" for Democrats even after their latest election defeat. "This small community in Georgia, which has become the epicenter of politics — sometimes to my chagrin — for months now, it´s had nothing to do with me, it never has," Ossoff told the crowd at his campaign´s Atlanta watch party, soon after news outlets declared Handel the winner of the pivotal special election. Despite being under investigation, Clinton and her staffers still have security clearances to access sensitive government information. The department’s investigation aims to determine whether Clinton and her closest aides violated government protocols by using her private server to receive, hold and transmit classified and top-secret government documents. Ed Morrissey may be on vacation but he’s still keeping his ear to the door of American politics. He popped up on Twitter this morning, searching for his dictionary to look up the definition of “chutzpah.” The reason for his apparent confusion was a rather off-putting interview with Georgia-06 Democratic candidate Jon Ossoff conducted by NPR’s Rachel Martin. The subject of the massive, record-breaking amount of cash dumped into this race couldn’t be avoided, so Martin asked Ossoff to weigh in. He did so, but his take on the subject rang a bit hollow to say the least. (Emphasis added

Despite receiving an invitation to meet with President Trump, members of the Congressional Black Caucus have reportedly chosen to decline, per Politico. Both Trump and the Congressional Black Caucus met in March to discuss issues important to CBC members, yet many in the Caucus felt as if little to no progress has been made since that meeting three months ago and that any subsequent meeting would be merely lip service.
