Fox Is Reportedly Preparing
for Bill O’Reilly’s Exit

New York Magazine, by Margaret Hartmann

Original Article

Posted By:MissMolly, 4/19/2017 4:56:26 AM

When Bill O’Reilly left for vacation on April 11, he stressed that the break was pre-planned to counter the notion that it had something to do with with the New York Times’ revelation that five women were paid $13 million to settle harassment claims against him. A week later, it looks increasingly unlikely that he’ll ever return to his show. New York’s Gabriel Sherman reported on Tuesday afternoon that “the Murdochs are leaning toward announcing that O’Reilly will not return to the air,” according to three sources. Later that evening multiple outlets said support for O’Reilly is eroding within Fox News.

The progressive weakening of Fox News is surely not happenstance. There are forces that want the only news network that is not fake news taken out...

Whether these allegations are true or not does not matter. They paid $13 million to shut these women up so that is a done deal. If he was truly innocent no money should have been paid.

It has gotten to the point where anybody could say something negative about O´Reilly and idiots will believe it. I could say I saw Bill twenty years ago while shopping at Macy´s in NYC and he glared at me while I was trying on shoes. BIG DEAL!

"Baby" Murdochs are lefties and BOR was effective in helping to elect Trump.
They want him out of way to weaken Trump- and Conservatives.
Sick of these whiny Feminists.
Stand up for yourself or leave.
Allegations that he " leered" at someone who wasn´t even an employee from 10 years ago are ludicrous.
Left wants to remove an effective Conservative voice- saw Bushie Perino tonight - no thanks- we know who she. Represents and not interested in Bush Dynasty.
Will DVD Tucker and Hannity and the rest can join CNN in oblivion.

Tucker Carlson is the rising star on FOX and should be moved to O’Reilly’s slot. Hannity is doing well and should be moved to Tucker Carlson’s slot. No one cares who takes Hannity’s slot.

Eric Bolling´s been doing Fridays for Bill for years, it seems. And Dana Perino has done the slot twice this week, and she seems to to be the risingest star there.
Good chance they´ll split the duties to see who the viewers like best (better?).

Not Dana peRINO!!! Beside her political views...her screechy voice when she stats to get obnoxious....wow, it´s like an ice pick in the ear! But how she screamed and screeched at Eric Boling accusing him of trying to get a job with TRUMP was totally unacceptable and unprofessional showing us what she´s really made of.

So screech on sister but do it on MSNBC!

I bet that if Bill wasn´t wealthy and made some pass at some woman they wouldn´t pay any attention to him. But because he has some money they will pounce on him for whatever they could get, either fame of fortune.

Rock on BIll even though you have fallen from where you were originally you should stand up to some of these woman that want your money. There will always be leaches...on both side. It would make for great TV. s/o

Guess that leaves me with Greg Gutfeld´s show to watch on Fox. I used to think he show was pretty lame, then got to liking it. Very tired of the Fox ´stable´ of long haired ladies. They must have long days. They´re on from early morning until late at night. Liked Tucker Carlson when he first started but now he gets muted too when the lib guests start running their mouths and won´t stop talking. Tired of Dana Perino´s dog (and Dana Perino too). She even had him on a show last week, it was his birthday and he was in a chair at the table. Gack. I guess it´s time to give up on Fox News. I did hear O´Reilly talking about fake lawsuits while he was still on the air so is he or isn´t he guilty.

If you can´t see that this OLD news being spun as NEW news is an orchestrated effort to pick off our conservative voices one by one, then there is no hope for us. The leftoid wagon of personal destruction is rolling down the street, aiming for our very few successful media figureheads---just like a literal version of the terrorists´ technique of mowing down victims with vehicles.
This BOR news is not NEW. You´ve got to ask yourself WHY is it being revived NOW? Can´t you see that this is an orchestrated effort to discredit WTP--- probably being run behind the curtain in Moorea? The goal is to have no media opposition left so that by the midterms in 2018 there will be no outlet for our viewpoint?
They won´t stop with O´Reilly. Rush, Hannity and Levin will be next. They all have skeletons in their closets. These guys need our support and they need it NOW! WHY is it the left can count on us bailing on each other---why can they count on us making judgments about a person who hasn´t said a single word on the subject? It doesn´t matter a bit if you like BOR or not. Can´t you see the forest through the trees? Instead of letting the MSM divide us by spoon-feeding us old news which they hope will spark our moral outrage, we should instead be calling FOX and demanding that they keep O´Reilly or we will collectively STOP watching ANYTHING on FOX at all.

I think the Murdoch "boys" should be careful. O"Reilly may flirt, or even leer (?) but he certainly never raped or bloodied as did our fabled ex President Clinton, nor slept with 1/2 the staff as did unlovable David Letterman, a Dem, or................I really don´t think this is about sexual harassment, but about wounding the brand. I am female, a Conservative woman, and old enough to know whether I am offended, without George Soros and Company pushing the issue. (I am also old enough to boycott the boycotting sponsors and remember when "they" pulled the same stuff with Rush Limbaugh years ago, Snapple in particular, and the brand went down 70% in sales and has never regained its glory.) The Murdoch youngness´ may be destroying the whole deal, ticking us all off.

I agree with #20. Since the Left’s dirty tricks have been unsuccessful against President Trump they have turned their arsenal towards any leading conservative voice. I’ve never cared for Mr. O’Reilly, even during his heyday, but this current smear job is blatantly obvious. It also highlights a major difference between the Left and the Right; the Left will uniformly support any of their number under attack whether the charges are true or false, while the Right will abandon those that the attackers have separated from the herd whether the charges are true or false. This point is made often and the reasons vary from publicly upholding conservative values, to just plain cowardice and complicity with the Uniparty agenda.

Allegations of ungentlemanly behavior have been a staple in the political arena since the first election was held casting seashells. Despite defiant calls of “girrrl power” and the feminists insisting they can handle anything “just like a man,” they’re still adamant that the culture protect them against cads. Even as they mock chivalry when it opens a door for them, they are adamant that the chivalric code be enforced when the supposed perpetrator is a non-Lefty. Cognitive dissonance is a way of life for those with the goal to “totally transform America.”

Since false sexual charges against men are not a new phenomenon by any means and unsubstantiated claims are the staple of the Left, the current O’Reilly flap spotlights the wisdom of VP Pence’s practice to never be alone with a woman not his wife. The obvious reason the Pence’s were attacked for their traditional ways of protecting their marriage was because those practices make it impossible to smear with easy sexual innuendo. I bet old Bill now wishes he had stayed with wife #1.

I agree with above posters that this is an attempt to pick off vocal and powerful voices that present politically incorrect stories.

Yes, O´Reilly has become way too full of himself, BUT, he is the only consistent media voice to talk about crime and illegal immigrants He gave voice to Kate Steinle and her family. He is the ONLY one. That started the entire movement of victims´ families coming forward and propelled Trump to embrace those families during the campaign.

O´Reilly has never, ever backed down on this issue and for that he must be silenced.

I´m sick to death of these so-called women´s groups who are marching around in dizzying distress over so-called sexual harassment claims. The fact that they never said ONE WORD about either President Clinton or Hillary Clinton as an enabler during her election, has shown they have ZERO credibility.

O´Reilly should be supported. I keep waiting for Roger Ailes to start another network. Do it Roger with your money, O´Reilly´s money and Rush and Hannity´s money. Do it now!

There will be no holding of breath to see who is chosen to replace Bill. We now realize these boys have a plan to silence the majority of voters in giving them no choice, no refuge.

The accusations against BOR are much less serious than those about the actions of Clinton. . . mostly smart Alec comments which we KNOW is the norm for BOR. This whole thing is the definition of leftist smearing and I´m sorry it seems to be working. The network paying off theses snowflakes was just an invitation to all. . . invent whatever you want and we´ll pay you a bundle. What did they expect to happen after that?
Sadly, since it worked her in achieving the leftists´ goals, we´ll see it repeated ad nauseam.

I think O´Reilly should stay unless these harassment stories are true which would indicate he has a mental illness. I always am happy when Mark Steyn hosts for Rush. Much more amusing, less repetitious and far less in the tank for the Republican party. He´s so much better than Rush that I wonder whether he could keep it up day after day.

It’s fitting that Dan Rather is best known for bringing to the world a piece of fake news about George W. Bush’s Air National Guard service in Texas, because that’s where he began his career in shoddy journalism. The bungling goes all the way back to 1963 Dallas. His presence there on the day President Kennedy was assassinated helped create the legend of Dan, but he actually blew the story that made his name. Rather had heard from a priest that the president was dead, but knew that wasn’t a strong enough source to back up such a huge story,

The rise of Donald Trump began a debate about the proper place of nationalism in American politics. A growing chorus on the political right, including even many who opposed his candidacy, has been praising the president’s "America First" agenda as a healthy restoration of nationalism and fleshing out an intellectual framework to fit his worldview. It is right to give his ideas serious and thoughtful examination, as it is to consider any ideas that seek to protect our country and unite its people. But there are good ways and bad ways to pursue these goals, ways that stay true to

The squalid sanctimony of the United Nations

Hand it to the United Nations: It manages to be both sanctimonious and squalid. It turns out the Office of the UN High Commissioner on Human Rights has cautioned President Trump that repeal of ObamaCare would put the United States “at odds with its international obligations.” The five-page “urgent appeal” from the UNHCR office in Geneva warned that taking away health coverage would violate “the right to social security of the people in the United States.” Meanwhile, the world body just showed its own contempt for human rights by electing Saudi Arabia to serve on the UN Commission on the Status of

Criminal investigators from the Internal Revenue Service and the U.S. Postal Service raided the Grapevine, Texas offices of televangelist Benny Hinn on Wednesday afternoon. Hinn is famous for his stadium-filling “Miracle Crusades.” At these revival-style events, held worldwide, Hinn claims to use special, supernatural power to heal people suffering from terminal diseases and various handicaps. Several IRS and Postal Service agents participated in the Wednesday raid. The investigators entered Hinn’s offices, then left with boxes — and boxes, and boxes — of documents. The investigators then placed the boxes on trucks at the scene.

President Trump’s executive order on Wednesday for the Department of the Interior to review two dozen national monuments created by several of his predecessors has garnered widespread praise from many western state lawmakers, anger from conservationists and Native American groups and raised the question of whether one executive has the power undo the decisions of a previous White House. Speaking during a signing ceremony at the Interior Department, Trump derided the national monument protection efforts of the last three presidents. He called them “a massive federal land grab,” while specifically criticizing President Obama’s use of the Antiquities Act as a way

It seems like only yesterday Melania Trump was being ridiculed for “borrowing” remarks from her predecessor, Michelle Obama, while Ivanka Trump was being touted as the calm, classy yin to her father’s never calm, not so classy yang. But what a difference 100 days can make. While Ivanka Trump and her business ventures have become yet another ethical distraction in an administration plagued by them, Melania Trump has emerged as…well, a surprisingly calm, classy counterbalance to her husband and those he surrounds himself with, including her stepdaughter. It wasn’t supposed to be this way. During the presidential campaign the commonly

So we don´t even need a wall. We just needed to let everybody know they´re not going to take advantage of us anymore. And believe me, they know it. And why would I make Mexico pay for a wall when they´re helping us out like they never did before? You wouldn´t believe the cooperation we´re getting now. The Mexicans have been tremendous!" The United Nations warned the Trump administration earlier this year that repealing ObamaCare without providing an adequate replacement would be a violation of multiple international laws, according to a new report. Though the Trump administration is likely to ignore the U.N. warning, The Washington Post reported the Office of the U.N. High Commission on Human Rights in Geneva sent an "urgent appeal" on Feb 2. The Post reported that the confidential, five-page memo cautioned that the repeal of the Affordable Care Act would put the U.S. “at odds with its international obligations.” The warning was sent to the State Department and reportedly said

Are you freaking kidding me? Thirteen-term Democratic congresswoman Maxine Waters, Beltway barnacle permanently affixed to USS Government, is now the fresh-faced “rock star” of the Democratic party. “Auntie Maxine” is stoking the resistance, inspiring Millennials, combating hate, crusading against corruption, and invoking the counterinsurgent cry to “stay woke!” I do not have enough guffaws to give. This new spokesmodel for civility and clean government has stoked division and exploited taxpayers for decades. Change agent? She has served on the Democratic National Committee since 1980 — when the Atari 2600 was cutting-edge, Kim Kardashian was a newborn, and Al Franken was

Looking refreshed and relaxed after her three-month vacation, the former first lady greeted the audience with a smile and a wave at the AIA Conference on Architecture 2017 in Florida on Thursday. So how much of our money did Obama ship to the terrorist regime in Iran? We hear $150 billion. We are not sure. Could be a dollar less, a dollar more. We’ll never know for sure. That’s because his entire administration operated in the dark. That’s how he governed and that’s how he got himself elected, in lies and in stealth, and the news media did the rest. They covered for him. They let him get away with murder – and in this case, that is not a cliché, it’s fact. Today, in eye-popping news, we learn, from the New York Post via

Saturday marks President Trump’s 100th day in office, and to celebrate the occasion he got a bit too candid in an Oval Office interview with Reuters. Obviously certain elements of being president are pretty fun, but President Trump has discovered that it isn’t all playing with trucks and pressing a button that makes Cokes appear. Sometimes there’s work to be done, and as it turns out being leader of the free world is a lot harder than running a fake university and playing a caricature of a rich person on TV.“I loved my previous life. He has floated some conspiracy theories for years, but now President Donald Trump will get to play a crucial role in the long-running saga over the government´s Kennedy assassination records. The 1992 JFK Assassination Records Collection Act, signed by President George H.W. Bush, set a 25-year timetable for declassification of assassination records dealing with President Kennedy. The law set up a single collection of records at the National Archives, and set up a process for declassification. The law required the release of all government records dealing with the assassination within 25 years – with the exception of those the president certifies for

Muslim reformer Zuhdi Jasser has recently attacked leaders of the anti-Jihad movement in America.
