Fox Is Reportedly Preparing
for Bill O’Reilly’s Exit

New York Magazine, by Margaret Hartmann

Original Article

Posted By:MissMolly, 4/19/2017 4:56:26 AM

When Bill O’Reilly left for vacation on April 11, he stressed that the break was pre-planned to counter the notion that it had something to do with with the New York Times’ revelation that five women were paid $13 million to settle harassment claims against him. A week later, it looks increasingly unlikely that he’ll ever return to his show. New York’s Gabriel Sherman reported on Tuesday afternoon that “the Murdochs are leaning toward announcing that O’Reilly will not return to the air,” according to three sources. Later that evening multiple outlets said support for O’Reilly is eroding within Fox News.

The progressive weakening of Fox News is surely not happenstance. There are forces that want the only news network that is not fake news taken out...

Whether these allegations are true or not does not matter. They paid $13 million to shut these women up so that is a done deal. If he was truly innocent no money should have been paid.

It has gotten to the point where anybody could say something negative about O´Reilly and idiots will believe it. I could say I saw Bill twenty years ago while shopping at Macy´s in NYC and he glared at me while I was trying on shoes. BIG DEAL!

"Baby" Murdochs are lefties and BOR was effective in helping to elect Trump.
They want him out of way to weaken Trump- and Conservatives.
Sick of these whiny Feminists.
Stand up for yourself or leave.
Allegations that he " leered" at someone who wasn´t even an employee from 10 years ago are ludicrous.
Left wants to remove an effective Conservative voice- saw Bushie Perino tonight - no thanks- we know who she. Represents and not interested in Bush Dynasty.
Will DVD Tucker and Hannity and the rest can join CNN in oblivion.

Tucker Carlson is the rising star on FOX and should be moved to O’Reilly’s slot. Hannity is doing well and should be moved to Tucker Carlson’s slot. No one cares who takes Hannity’s slot.

Eric Bolling´s been doing Fridays for Bill for years, it seems. And Dana Perino has done the slot twice this week, and she seems to to be the risingest star there.
Good chance they´ll split the duties to see who the viewers like best (better?).

Not Dana peRINO!!! Beside her political views...her screechy voice when she stats to get obnoxious....wow, it´s like an ice pick in the ear! But how she screamed and screeched at Eric Boling accusing him of trying to get a job with TRUMP was totally unacceptable and unprofessional showing us what she´s really made of.

So screech on sister but do it on MSNBC!

I bet that if Bill wasn´t wealthy and made some pass at some woman they wouldn´t pay any attention to him. But because he has some money they will pounce on him for whatever they could get, either fame of fortune.

Rock on BIll even though you have fallen from where you were originally you should stand up to some of these woman that want your money. There will always be leaches...on both side. It would make for great TV. s/o

Guess that leaves me with Greg Gutfeld´s show to watch on Fox. I used to think he show was pretty lame, then got to liking it. Very tired of the Fox ´stable´ of long haired ladies. They must have long days. They´re on from early morning until late at night. Liked Tucker Carlson when he first started but now he gets muted too when the lib guests start running their mouths and won´t stop talking. Tired of Dana Perino´s dog (and Dana Perino too). She even had him on a show last week, it was his birthday and he was in a chair at the table. Gack. I guess it´s time to give up on Fox News. I did hear O´Reilly talking about fake lawsuits while he was still on the air so is he or isn´t he guilty.

If you can´t see that this OLD news being spun as NEW news is an orchestrated effort to pick off our conservative voices one by one, then there is no hope for us. The leftoid wagon of personal destruction is rolling down the street, aiming for our very few successful media figureheads---just like a literal version of the terrorists´ technique of mowing down victims with vehicles.
This BOR news is not NEW. You´ve got to ask yourself WHY is it being revived NOW? Can´t you see that this is an orchestrated effort to discredit WTP--- probably being run behind the curtain in Moorea? The goal is to have no media opposition left so that by the midterms in 2018 there will be no outlet for our viewpoint?
They won´t stop with O´Reilly. Rush, Hannity and Levin will be next. They all have skeletons in their closets. These guys need our support and they need it NOW! WHY is it the left can count on us bailing on each other---why can they count on us making judgments about a person who hasn´t said a single word on the subject? It doesn´t matter a bit if you like BOR or not. Can´t you see the forest through the trees? Instead of letting the MSM divide us by spoon-feeding us old news which they hope will spark our moral outrage, we should instead be calling FOX and demanding that they keep O´Reilly or we will collectively STOP watching ANYTHING on FOX at all.

I think the Murdoch "boys" should be careful. O"Reilly may flirt, or even leer (?) but he certainly never raped or bloodied as did our fabled ex President Clinton, nor slept with 1/2 the staff as did unlovable David Letterman, a Dem, or................I really don´t think this is about sexual harassment, but about wounding the brand. I am female, a Conservative woman, and old enough to know whether I am offended, without George Soros and Company pushing the issue. (I am also old enough to boycott the boycotting sponsors and remember when "they" pulled the same stuff with Rush Limbaugh years ago, Snapple in particular, and the brand went down 70% in sales and has never regained its glory.) The Murdoch youngness´ may be destroying the whole deal, ticking us all off.

I agree with #20. Since the Left’s dirty tricks have been unsuccessful against President Trump they have turned their arsenal towards any leading conservative voice. I’ve never cared for Mr. O’Reilly, even during his heyday, but this current smear job is blatantly obvious. It also highlights a major difference between the Left and the Right; the Left will uniformly support any of their number under attack whether the charges are true or false, while the Right will abandon those that the attackers have separated from the herd whether the charges are true or false. This point is made often and the reasons vary from publicly upholding conservative values, to just plain cowardice and complicity with the Uniparty agenda.

Allegations of ungentlemanly behavior have been a staple in the political arena since the first election was held casting seashells. Despite defiant calls of “girrrl power” and the feminists insisting they can handle anything “just like a man,” they’re still adamant that the culture protect them against cads. Even as they mock chivalry when it opens a door for them, they are adamant that the chivalric code be enforced when the supposed perpetrator is a non-Lefty. Cognitive dissonance is a way of life for those with the goal to “totally transform America.”

Since false sexual charges against men are not a new phenomenon by any means and unsubstantiated claims are the staple of the Left, the current O’Reilly flap spotlights the wisdom of VP Pence’s practice to never be alone with a woman not his wife. The obvious reason the Pence’s were attacked for their traditional ways of protecting their marriage was because those practices make it impossible to smear with easy sexual innuendo. I bet old Bill now wishes he had stayed with wife #1.

I agree with above posters that this is an attempt to pick off vocal and powerful voices that present politically incorrect stories.

Yes, O´Reilly has become way too full of himself, BUT, he is the only consistent media voice to talk about crime and illegal immigrants He gave voice to Kate Steinle and her family. He is the ONLY one. That started the entire movement of victims´ families coming forward and propelled Trump to embrace those families during the campaign.

O´Reilly has never, ever backed down on this issue and for that he must be silenced.

I´m sick to death of these so-called women´s groups who are marching around in dizzying distress over so-called sexual harassment claims. The fact that they never said ONE WORD about either President Clinton or Hillary Clinton as an enabler during her election, has shown they have ZERO credibility.

O´Reilly should be supported. I keep waiting for Roger Ailes to start another network. Do it Roger with your money, O´Reilly´s money and Rush and Hannity´s money. Do it now!

The accusations against BOR are much less serious than those about the actions of Clinton. . . mostly smart Alec comments which we KNOW is the norm for BOR. This whole thing is the definition of leftist smearing and I´m sorry it seems to be working. The network paying off theses snowflakes was just an invitation to all. . . invent whatever you want and we´ll pay you a bundle. What did they expect to happen after that?
Sadly, since it worked her in achieving the leftists´ goals, we´ll see it repeated ad nauseam.

I think O´Reilly should stay unless these harassment stories are true which would indicate he has a mental illness. I always am happy when Mark Steyn hosts for Rush. Much more amusing, less repetitious and far less in the tank for the Republican party. He´s so much better than Rush that I wonder whether he could keep it up day after day.

Let’s say you’re a prosecutor in Washington. You are investigating a husband and wife, naturalized Americans, who you believe have scammed a federal credit union out of nearly $300,000. First, cut off the birth control

In January 2012, President Barack Obama finalized his regulation banning employers from offering their staff health insurance unless it paid the entire cost of birth control. The penalty for providing coverage without birth control was set at $100 a day per worker — more than 15 times as much as the penalty for offering no coverage at all. This mandate was not part of the Obamacare law passed by Congress. It probably wouldn´t have passed if the controversial proviso had been included. In the time since, the mandate has been battered by litigation. A unanimous Supreme Court recently rebuffed the Obama administration´s

Florida Gov. Rick Scott on Saturday evening issued an executive order removing the case of two police officers slain in Kissimmee, Fla., from a prosecutor who had previously stated she opposes the death penalty. “Today, I am using my executive authority to reassign this case to State Attorney Brad King to ensure the victims of last night’s attack and their families receive the justice they deserve,” Scott said in the order. King will replace State Attorney Aramis Ayala, who argued earlier this year that the death penalty is not a deterrent and causes cases to drag on for years, inflicting anguish

Growing debate over the removal of Confederate monuments Debate is heating up throughout the country over what to do with Confederate statues and memorials. But it appears, at least for now, that 10 major U.S. Army bases will keep the names of Confederate soldiers. The Army refused to answer questions last week on whether those bases – including Fort Bragg in North Carolina, Fort Hood in Texas, and Fort Benning in Georgia – will keep their names, the Charlotte Observer reported. All 10 U.S. military bases named for Confederate soldiers are located in

Last Sunday ABC News had absolutely no question about how to identify the van driver in Charlottesville: “REGISTERED REPUBLICAN.” I guess none of the terrorists in Barcelona yesterday were REGISTERED REPUBLICANS, but then, judging by the headlines last night, it’s somewhat unclear if a human being was even involved in this latest slaughter. Washington Post: “Van Rams into Barcelona Crowd.” MarketWatch: “Barcelona Truck Attack reportedly leaves at least 12 dead.” So was it a truck or a van that committed this atrocity? The New York Times at least said, “Van Driver Kills 13.” These Muslim terror attacks are like the old movie “Groundhog Day.” It’s

This month marks 40 years since NASA launched the two Voyager space probes on their mission to explore the outer planets of our Solar System, and Australia has been helping the US space agency keep track of the probes at every step of their epic journey. CSIRO operates NASA’s tracking station in Canberra, a set of four radio telescopes, or dishes, known as the Canberra Deep Space Communication Complex (CDSCC). It’s one of three tracking stations spaced around the globe, which form the Deep Space Network. The other two are at Goldstone, in California, and Madrid, in Spain. Between them they provide

On July 18, 2015, about a month into his long-shot campaign for president, Donald Trump famously attacked John McCain. "He´s not a war hero," he said. "He was a war hero because he was captured. I like people who weren´t captured." Campaigning in Iowa that summer, Trump mocked Jeb Bush for being "low-energy." In February 2016, Trump said Bush´s brother, the forty-third president, had lied in order to invade Iraq. When Mitt Romney attacked Trump the following month, Trump responded by calling the 2012 Republican nominee a "choke artist." On his path to the 2016 GOP nomination and then the

There´s a whiff of Weimar in the air. During the years of the Weimar Republic (1919-33), Germany was threatened by Communist revolutionaries and Nazi uprisings. Foreign Minister Walter Rathenau was assassinated, and violent street fighting was commonplace. Then Adolf Hitler took power in 1933. America is nowhere near that point. But many surely agree with The American Interest´s Jason Willick, who wrote Sunday that "this latest round of deadly political violence has" him "more afraid for" the United States than he has "ever been before." But as he pointed out, this political violence -- identity politics violence is a more precise term

A federal judge on Thursday ordered the IRS to name the specific employees the agency blames for targeting tea party groups for intrusive scrutiny and said the government must prove it has ceased the targeting. Judge Reggie B. Walton also said the IRS must explain the reasons for the delays for 38 groups that are part of a lawsuit in the District of Columbia, where they are still looking for a full accounting of their treatment. Judge Walton approved another round of limited discovery in the case and laid out six questions that the IRS must answer, including the employees’ names, why

“There must always” be a flow low-skilled immigration to the United States, no matter its impact on American workers, according to Republican establishment figure Senator Jeff Flake (R-AZ). Flake slammed the idea of potentially cutting legal immigration levels in half to raise the wages of American workers and end the current low-skilled oriented system to make only admit immigrants based on their skills and merit in a New York Times op-ed. Senators Tom Cotton (R-AR) and David Perdue (R-GA) introduced the specific plan, known as the “RAISE Act.” President Donald Trump endorsed the plan and said the legislation “will reduce poverty, increase

Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner are among a set of White House aides pushing President Trump to allow illegal immigrants brought to the U.S. as children to stay, in an effort to get Democrats to fund the president´s border wall. McClatchy reported that the group of White House officials have suggested using so-called ´Dreamers´ as a bargaining chip, in order to check off some of the president´s campaign promises on immigration, including the wall, additional detention facilities, an E-verify system for employers and cuts to legal immigration. However, such a move would break another campaign promise, as candidate Donald Trump had pledged

The Rev. Jesse Jackson on Sunday gave a strong endorsement to the movement for removing monuments to leaders of the Confederacy and called for the electoral college to be abolished. Speaking at the Islamic Center of Southern California, Jackson blamed the electoral college system, giving disproportionate influence to less populated states, for the 2000 and 2016 loss of Democratic presidential candidates Al Gore and Hillary Clinton despite their winning the popular vote. “Today we are looking at a structural problem,” Jackson said. “These monuments must go. WASHINGTON — The Secret Service can no longer pay hundreds of agents it needs to carry out an expanded protective mission – in large part due to the sheer size of President Trump´s family and efforts necessary to secure their multiple residences up and down the East Coast. Secret Service Director Randolph "Tex´´ Alles, in an interview with USA TODAY, said more than 1,000 agents have already hit the federally mandated caps for salary and overtime allowances that were meant to last the entire year. The agency has faced a crushing workload since the height of the contentious election season, and it

The eclipse that occurred over Chicago led thousands to the beaches and streets, where they gasped and cried out as the sun partially disappeared. For WGN meteorologist Tom Skilling, it was an especially awe-inspiring event. The famed meteorologist hugged and high-fived people around him and wept as the eclipse occurred Monday afternoon. "Oh, my word," Skilling said. "Wow. This is amazing. What do you think of this, this?" At another point, he told viewers, "I´ll get my act together, guys." His voice cracking, Skilling apologized for his tears. Skilling´s heartfelt reaction earned him praise from fans:

As the face of CNN, Anderson Cooper makes a very good living as wealthy, privileged white man casting judgments of affiliation upon his political enemies. This includes taking a handful of idiotic white supremacists and declaring they represent millions of Republicans/conservatives, pro-America, Trump supporters, etc. And yet Mr. Cooper himself has a much closer affiliation to slavery than he likely wants his leftist viewers to know. As a descendant of the Vanderbilt family, one of the wealthiest “old money” families in American history, Cooper is a direct descendant of big time slave owners. Cooper’s great-great grandfather, Cornelius Vanderbilt, owned several plantations,

President Trump’s “America First” base was the biggest loser of Trump’s speech on Afghanistan Monday night, and many quickly expressed their disappointment at the business-as-usual address from the president who had once promised to limit American intervention abroad and focus on nation-building at home. Trump’s speech, in which he pledged to increase the number of troops in the 16-year-war, was the first since the departure of Chief Strategist Steve Bannon and confirmed the fears of many on the right that without a strong nationalist voice in the West Wing, the President would revert to the same old fare that Americans had

Students at Howard University, a top-rated historically black college in Washington D.C., took to social media to express their anger over a group of white high school girls wearing pro-Trump clothing who visited the campus on Saturday. Some tweets referring to their visit also suggested the white high school girls should be beaten up.
