Former beauty queen was
roughed up on United flight: suit

New York Post, by Susan Edelman

Original Article

A former Miss Venezuela is suing United Airlines over a nightmarish midair incident in which a flight attendant handcuffed her and enlisted two burly men to forcibly remove her in a dispute that escalated after she asked for a pillow. Carmen Maria Montiel, a Houston journalist and mom, recounted her ordeal in sympathy for Dr. David Dao, the United passenger who was dragged off a flight last week after he refused to relinquish his seat. “I can only imagine how he felt,” she told The Post. “I will forever be terrorized for what happened to me.” Montiel was sitting in first-class aboard a

When you fly in the U.S. You are at their mercy. It is not going to change soon. For me, I will never fly the "not so friendly skies".

So, she read about the Dr. issue and suddenly decided to go public and file a lawsuit? Um, I know, United is the worst airline ever, etc. but this sounds like a bid for money and publicity. And like this woman was fighting with her husband more than with the flight attendant.

Maybe this is why I like Southwest.

One evening, I´m flying back home on a SW flight. Grab my aisle seat and get ready for the ride home. An attractive young lady asks if she can have the window seat (the middle seat remained vacant), and of course, I being the gentleman I am, arose and let her in.

Plane takes off and I immediately go to sleep. Awhile later, the flight attendant is bent over my seat, welcoming Miss Texas on the flight.

Which is how I slept with Miss Texas.

Read the article. Why she was flying with and sitting next to a husband with whom she was engaged in a bitter divorce is anyone’s guess. It ended up in a brouhaha in First Class, the husband (who had reported her misconduct to the flight attendants) apparently succeeded in having her moved to another part of the plane. Flight attendants believed she’d had too much to drink. She denies.

We end up at the end with a nice PR blurb on the former Venezuelan beauty queen and what she’s up to now. Oh, and she’s a “mom”.

Think about these stories from the point of view of keeping peace on a planeload of maybe hundreds of passengers. At what point does a disruptive passenger have to be dealt with for the wellbeing of all the others?

The left is really scraping bottom in its serial attacks on Dr. Sebastian Gorka. Gorka, if you have not seen him on Fox News or at other outlets, is President Trump´s counterterrorism advisor. He´s an effective spokesman for the administration and has an interesting role: He´s kind of the Sean Spicer for nerds and intelligent members of the public, not the person who issues sound bites and takes ´gotcha´ questions from a hostile press pool. But it´s his very effectiveness that makes him subject to a kitchen sink of personal and professional attacks, most of which have the fingerprints of an embittered

The green eyeshades economics crew at Investor´s Business Daily has taken a look at a new IBD/TIPP poll and found a pattern based on time patterns seen earlier. What did it find? President Trump could be in for some winning – so much winning that he might get tired of winning. The poll shows that while President Trump´s overall poll approval is now low at 37%, economic optimism as he cures the economy and growth returns is up. The superimposition of the charts on one another shows that when the economy goes up, the president´s polls do, too. There´s a fairly good

The deadly collision between a U.S. destroyer and a container ship June 17 took place while the freighter was on autopilot, according to Navy officials. The Philippines-flagged cargo ship ACX Crystal was under control of a computerized navigation system that was steering and guiding the container vessel, according to officials familiar with preliminary results of an ongoing Navy investigation. Investigators so far found no evidence the collision was deliberate. Nevertheless, an accident during computerized navigation raises the possibility the container ship´s computer system could have been hacked and the ship deliberately steered into the USS Fitzgerald, an Arleigh Burke-class guided missile destroyer.
