My focus this week is on the “wiretapping” (electronic interception of communications, if you insist) of President Trump and his associates during the campaign. It seems to me this story is rapidly unfolding -- if only mostly in overseas press and online -- and promises to be far more explosive than the Watergate story, an account that says frightening things about our intelligence agencies and those of some of our allies, most particularly Great Britain. It has become increasingly clear to me that there was widespread wiretapping of President Trump and his associates and that the underlying justification was pretextual

The now decades-long American tradition of not holding high-ranking Democrats accountable for crimes is a tradition that must now come to an end.

Amen, OP, but I won´t hold my breath. I just do not believe that Washington has the moral fortitude to tackle the wide reaching and obviously illegal activity of our first black President. If serious charges are leveled at the boy King and his administration, the democrats will burn the country down before they will allow their messiah to be held accountable. Unfortunately, we have seen the utter disregard for the rule of law by the very agencies tasked to uphold the bedrock construct of equality under the law. I frankly can´t see this group of Republicans having the resolve to confront the media and the left without someone at the highest level in the Obama administration who is willing to testify under oath that the spying was done and who ordered it. The MSM is not interested and the democrats, I believe, know where all the bodies are buried. It will take divine intervention and providence to bring the guilty to justice.

If the CIA/NSA can create IP addresses as a pretend to accuse anyone of colluding with Russia or anywhere else, then absolutely no one, no one, is safe in this country. Think what would happen if any demonrat in political power anywhere in this country had access to this trick. I wouldn´t be surprised if it´s already being used.

When all this unravels, the evil mind, black heart and dirty hands of John Muhammed Brennan will be at the center of things, working not only with other foreign intelligence agencies, but with the confederacy of criminals at the top of the feckless and feculent regime of the fraud Barack Hussein Obama: Susan Rice, Ben Rhodes, Valerie Jarrett, Loretta Lynch, Sally Yates and many others, working with and through an army of dunces such as James Clapper, Ashton Carter and, most importantly, the hopelessly corrupted and compromised James Comey. Comey is a perpetrator and inevitably a target here, and neither he nor the equally compromised FBI he nominally leads can be allowed any role in the investigation -- crooks can´t investigate themselves. This requires the appointment by AG Sessions of an independent counsel with competence, integrity and courage to pursue a vigorous criminal investigation. An honest investigation will also, happily, yield the scalps of John Songbird McCain as well as jerks like Evan McMullin.

If former President Clinton can give secret missile technology to China, which North Korea now has and Iran will likely get also, in exchange for illegal campaign contributions and nothing happened why would anyone think obama or any of his sycophants would be convicted of anything? The Washington DC elites and uniparty types take care of their own. No one will admit to any wrongdoing and any evidence has long been destroyed. Marathon hearings on the Hill will produce Benghazi results - nothing.

The point here is that the intelligence community can manufacture whatever it likes for whatever reason, hand it to a judge who will almost always slam the gavel in favor of surveillance in the name of national security. The public is ignorant, mostly uncaring.

Since 9/11 the government has taken, with the public´s full assent, gobs of liberty while promising security. Nearly everyone rationalized "I got nothing to hide." Now we find out that increasingly there is nothing one can hide if government wants to know. Ask Sharyl Attkisson how her own property was used to spy on her by the government...and, really, who is she but a private citizen? We surrendered liberty and we deserve the "security" it provided.

The use of foreign intel agencies can be a sham, too. It appears those "five eyes" operate with the other five eyes cocked to see if anyone is looking. Add in the weaponization of Federal agencies, like the IRS. Now, try to reform this morass.

Knowing the SOP of the past administration, I suspect there will be many more.

Sarah Palin issued a not-so-veiled warning to the New York Times on Thursday over a controversial editorial in the newspaper, one that prompted two corrections and an apology. In a tweet, Palin said she is "talking to attorneys this AM and exploring options." It all stems from an editorial, written in the wake of the Steve Scalise shooting, that linked a map put out by Palin´s political action committee in 2011 to the shooting of former congresswoman Gabby Giffords. Some background and new developments: What it said: In criticizing incendiary political rhetoric, the editorial mentioned the 2011 shooting of Giffords and

The rush to impeach President Trump is on by an opposition party that lacks the votes, evidence or legal basis for such a move. But since when did an illegal left-wing coup need any of those things? No Dem has been more honest about the real motive for impeachment than Congressman Ted Lieu. “We should not give him a chance to govern,” Lieu had declared after Trump had been in office for ten days. And he predicted that, “I do believe that if we win back the House of Representatives, impeachment proceedings will be started.” What was the basis for impeaching President Trump

Forget all the nervous gasps. When President Trump tweeted that his measure to protect Americans from Islamic terror was a “travel ban” and that it should never have been watered down, he was right. Calling it a pause hasn’t appeased a single of the radical judges abusing their authority. It doesn’t matter what the lawyers call it, when courts insist on referencing President Trump’s campaign rhetoric instead. Watering down the ban achieved nothing. The judicial coup can’t be appeased with a “moderate” ban. Stripping Iraq from the list of countries undermined the effectiveness of the measure considering that the vast majority of refugees

The Philippines-flagged cargo ship ACX Crystal was under control of a computerized navigation system that was steering and guiding the container vessel, according to officials familiar with preliminary results of an ongoing Navy investigation. Investigators so far found no evidence the collision was deliberate. Nevertheless, an accident during computerized navigation raises the possibility the container ship´s computer system could have been hacked and the ship deliberately steered into the USS Fitzgerald, an Arleigh Burke-class guided missile destroyer.
