A mob of supporters of Venezuela’s socialist dictator Nicolás Maduro stormed a Catholic Mass celebrating Holy Week on Wednesday, assaulting Archbishop of Caracas Cardinal Jorge Urosa Savino, injuring both believers attending the mass and media recording the scuffle, and reportedly looting the church. The incident took place at Santa Teresa Basilica, following the traditional procession of the Nazarene of St. Paul in the nation’s capital. El Universal, based in the capital, reports that those attending the Mass identified the individuals storming into the basilica as supporters of Maduro’s, as they attacked
Comments: This guy denounces is communism and has schooled Pope Francis.
Can we send Nasty Nancy and Chuckie Shummer and Sen. Schief and Bernie Sanders and Hillary Clinton to Venezuela to see how well Socialism/Communism works for the people. Maybe they could stay there and the Obama´s can join them.
Radical Muslims, socialists and our own modern day liberals all attack Christianity because the Christian God is competition for the one they worship. For Muslims it is Allah. For socialists and modern liberals (who are not liberal at all) is is the great god Government - with them in charge.
FTA:"The archbishop has condemned the government for its previous acts against his religion, including the rewording of a Christmas carol to honor socialist ration brigades and the government’s release of a new Lord’s Prayer that begins, “Our Chávez, who art in Heaven.” Of the latter, Urosa Sabivo said it was an act of “idolatry.”
Coming to our country, courtesy if the DUHmocrats.
Just yesterday I read Marx & Satan by Wurmbrand, which proves pretty conclusively that Marx and Engles were satanists, who hated humanity. Lenin and Stalin were obviously possessed, and took delight in murdering and starving people to death. Alinsky dedicated Rules for Radicals to satan, the "first rebel." This is the same language that satanists use.
If communists are atheists, and no god exists, why would they be so full of hatred for Christianity? This is a spiritual warfare, and evil is being let loose upon the world.
The view looking east and south from here in Colombia looks pretty bleak.
Venezuela is a Socialist hellhole, and no one knows what´s going to happen when everything there collapses -- as surely it will. The president, Nicolas Maduro, is an uneducated, boorish, bloviating dolt who manages to screw up everything he touches (which includes practically anything he can steal). Venezuela is having food riots -- food riots! -- despite having the world´s largest proven petroleum reserves, and a lot more national wealth. And now, a "Socialist mob" assaults the archbishop in Caracas during Holy Week, which is a national, week-long holiday down here. Good Lord.
To the south, Ecuador just elected a new president named Lenin (!!) Moreno, the chosen successor to the odious anti-American Socialist Rafael Correa. (Correa earned his Ph.D. in Economics at the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana -- what went wrong?!?) Lenin looks just as bad as Correa. Who might have imagined that a guy named Lenin would be bad news?
Peru is doing well, as is Panama. Colombia is stable and prospering overall. Crime is way down and people here are naturally happy, despite not having much in the way of material comforts. Socialism remains a menace everywhere, though it seems on the wane.
The "Mother Church" has not layed down with any one. Our beautiful and blessed church has been used and abused by evil vile humans of all stripes. No matter how many times Our Lord God has given his people a new beginning, more than once. The gift of free will has been used to enslave the innocent over and again. This is the work of Satan. God will not have this. The evil one tried the same with Jesus, offering him reign over all he could see. We know how that went.
There is a reckoning coming and it will makes all wars put together look like playground games. Mankind never learns it seems. When Obama meets his maker he will be asked "With all the power and opportunities I gave you, what did you do to help my people?" The wrath of God is something I never want to encounter. Some seem to think they have the ability to get around it.
It is the people who comprise the Mother Church established by our Lord Jesus Christ. No one has laid down. We were infiltrated over a long period of time - similar to our government - but will prevail.
A thought to ponder this Good Friday: Why are these worldwide attacks committed only on Catholic churches?
That´s a good question #16. My sense of this craziness is that the crazies hate the Catholic Church in particular because the Church jealously protects and guards the sacraments. All seven of them.
I´m an Episcopalian, and the Anglican Communion now allows the ordination of women, openly gay bishops, and more. I admire the Catholic Church for her refusal to give in on key issues. The nutters despise the sacraments -- and the Church that protects them more so stubbornly.
What kind of Good Friday would it be without a few derisive remarks against Catholics from #10? Holy God, in the immeasurable vastness of your love, have mercy on us, our advocates, our adversaries, and the whole world...
Great example #2 and #11. I hadn´t heard Richard Wurmbrand´s name mentioned since the 70´s when he gave a talk at our church and showed us the whip scars across his back. I wonder if the Pope has met Wurmbrand or read his books.
#15- “…meets his Maker he will be asked, “With all the power and opportunities I gave you, what did you do to help my people?” That also may apply to ChiefExecutiveOfficers in the entertainment/publishing industries, through and including writers/directors/actors, in light of the filth/garbage/violence that destroyed the moral fiber of this country. The Left owns that desecration.
#17- Twenty-some years ago, transferred from the synod of baptism due to its descent into liberalism for a conservative synod and am blessed, “at home.” This church has been blessed with former Episcopalians who exited the Episcopal Church due to the same descent.
I spent the last 50 minutes listening to an interview of neocon Iraq war architect Paul Wolfowitz, a truly unfortunate experience which felt like a tomahawk missile attack against my cerebrum. Regrettably, we still live in a world where you have to listen to the musings of such war criminals, as they continue to have considerable influence in certain circles of American power, and quite possibly within the Trump administration itself. There were four main takeaways from the man’s monstrous, deluded ramblings. First, he hates being called a neocon, so make sure you continue to do so — publicly and with
US President Donald Trump is calling Venezuela´s situation "a mess." Trump was asked on Thursday about the political crisis in Venezuela that has already been blamed for almost 30 deaths. Speaking briefly to reporters at the White House alongside visiting Argentine President Mauricio Macri he said "Venezuela is a mess". "I´m very sad for Venezuela. I´m very sad to see what´s happened in Venezuela. Venezuela is a very sad situation."
A mother of two is facing deportation after being swept up in a massive drug raid and despite the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department clearing her of involvement. Protesters say she was unlawfully detained and are calling for her release. Teresa Vidal-Jaime was detained by federal immigration officers on Monday after her husband, Hugo Rueda, was arrested in a massive drug bust. Now, her daughter, Claudia Rueda, an immigration activist in Los Angeles, claims that her mother was unlawfully detained. “That has nothing to do with my mother, she did not know anything about it, because she did not have papers,
A Russian Navy reconnaissance ship has sunk after colliding with another vessel near the Bosporus, the Russian Defense Ministry reported. The hull of ‘the Liman,’ a 1,560-ton reconnaissance ship of the Russian Black Sea Fleet, was breached below the waterline in the collision, the Defense Ministry said. The Turkish coast guard said it rescued 78 people from the Russian ship, which was later confirmed by the Russian authorities.
Iraq might descend into “chaotic violence”—or worse. The broader Middle East could “go to hell” all over again. If the United States doesn’t step up under President Donald Trump, Paul Wolfowitz warns in a new interview for The Global POLITICO, our weekly podcast on world affairs in the Trump era, it would represent an “opportunity” blown, a missed chance that would result in “lost American influence” and a win for “hostile actors.” Wolfowitz, a hawkish Republican known as the architect of the Iraq war for his role in advocating President George W. Bush´s 2003 invasion, rarely wades back into the public
It is said that the rich man thinks only about money. But, in truth it is the poor man who can think of nothing else. In “Asia’s (most expensive) world city”, you would be surprised who considers themselves to be poor. You can’t measure or hide behind anecdotal evidence showing the deteriorating quality of Hong Kong’s basket of economic goods that constitute quality of life. A locally based senior executive at an international asset manager, frustrated at paying HK$68,000 a month for a flat in Aberdeen for his wife and two kids, decided to move to the suburbs of Taipei where
President Trump has trumped his enemies in the White House Correspondents Association. Not only did he decline to walk into their trap at the annual dinner, where he would have been roasted continuously by (as Twtichy reminds us) “’Daily Show’ comedian Hasan Minhaj (who has referred to Trump as ‘white ISIS’”) and…well…everyone. He yesterday announced counterprogramming that will force many of the presumptive attendees to miss the event”
A review of Donald Trump´s business career would lead one to say that he has always over-promised and under-delivered. Whether his long list of bankruptcies in the ever-profitable casino business, the failures of his "university,´ steak, vodka or clothing lines, there has been a history of putting himself first, while ignoring the needs of his constituents. We may be seeing that play out in his approach to government, as well. As in business, Trump has a constituency of one … himself … just ask his stock and bond investors, his suppliers, contractors, laborers, or even his customers. Unlike Trump, they rarely,
The United States has announced that a secret military ground operation killed an Islamic State operative seen as a close associate of leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi and linked to an attack on a Turkish nightclub that left 39 people dead. Abdurakhmon Uzbeki, who was believed to be from Uzbekistan, was killed during the ground assault near Mayadin, Syria, on 6 April, said Colonel John Thomas, a spokesman for the US military’s central command. “It was a ground operation. I think that’s all we’re willing to say about that,” Thomas said, declining further comment. He specified that Uzbeki did not die in
Syrian parents are naming their children after the Russian President as a sign of gratitude, while millions of students, including Bashar Assad’s own children, are learning Russian, Syria’s Ambassador to Moscow Riad Haddad said. “Thanks to the efforts of the Moscow embassy, and with the approval of President Assad, Russian is the second language taught in Syrian schools. We have opened Russian faculties in all of the country’s universities, while children receive tuition from the seventh grade,” said the official, addressing Russia’s upper chamber of parliament, the Federation Council, in Moscow. Russian was first put on the curriculum in government-controlled schools in
A team of inspectors from China’s environmental protection agency was held against their will for over an hour while they were carrying out pollution checks at a factory. The case reflects the difficulties inspectors face as they attempt to tackle the nation’s chronic air pollution. The inspectors were carrying out checks at Lujie Energy-saving Technology Co in Jinan in Shandong province, the ministry said in a statement. The team found the factory was still using a coal-powered boiler that should have been demolished as well as other problems in tackling emissions. The factory owner became angry, refused to supply documents and locked the factory
WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Jared Kushner and his wife Ivanka Trump enlisted the services of Risa Heller, a New York City public relations figure known for her work with Democrats — including former Rep. Anthony Weiner (D-NY), Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY), and Gov. David Paterson (D-NY) — when they came to Washington to take up their official posts in the Trump White House, according to a report in Buzzfeed. The revelation came amid reports that a New York City set with a history of friendly ties to the Democratic party is gaining traction in President Donald Trump’s White House, much to the
After a leisurely three month vacation, Michelle Obama has made her first public appearance since the inauguration. Looking refreshed and relaxed after her three-month vacation, the former first lady greeted the audience with a smile and a wave at the AIA Conference on Architecture 2017 in Florida on Thursday. Obama was the keynote speaker at the event, organized by the American Institute of Architects, where she spoke about her time as Chicago´s assistant commissioner of planning and development. The former first lady wore a long black, white and beige dress which showed off her toned arms at the event as she also
Saturday marks President Trump’s 100th day in office, and to celebrate the occasion he got a bit too candid in an Oval Office interview with Reuters. Obviously certain elements of being president are pretty fun, but President Trump has discovered that it isn’t all playing with trucks and pressing a button that makes Cokes appear. Sometimes there’s work to be done, and as it turns out being leader of the free world is a lot harder than running a fake university and playing a caricature of a rich person on TV.“I loved my previous life. I had so many things
So how much of our money did Obama ship to the terrorist regime in Iran? We hear $150 billion. We are not sure. Could be a dollar less, a dollar more. We’ll never know for sure. That’s because his entire administration operated in the dark. That’s how he governed and that’s how he got himself elected, in lies and in stealth, and the news media did the rest. They covered for him. They let him get away with murder – and in this case, that is not a cliché, it’s fact. Today, in eye-popping news, we learn, from the New York Post via
He has floated some conspiracy theories for years, but now President Donald Trump will get to play a crucial role in the long-running saga over the government´s Kennedy assassination records. The 1992 JFK Assassination Records Collection Act, signed by President George H.W. Bush, set a 25-year timetable for declassification of assassination records dealing with President Kennedy. The law set up a single collection of records at the National Archives, and set up a process for declassification. The law required the release of all government records dealing with the assassination within 25 years – with the exception of those the president certifies for
Baltimore’s mayor asked the FBI to send in reinforcements Wednesday to help the city get its murders under control. Mayor Catherine Pugh, speaking at a news conference, explained she went to the FBI’s Baltimore office for extra agents to join with police officers in combating a skyrocketing murder count, reports CNN. “Murder is out of control. There are too many guns on the streets. We’re looking for all the help we can get,” Pugh said. The city already has 101 murders for the year, a number not seen in almost 20 years. The mayor’s spokesperson warned the violence could rise
Muslim reformer Zuhdi Jasser has recently attacked leaders of the anti-Jihad movement in America. He equated them with jihadists when he called them the derogatory word, alt-jihadists, meaning that Americans who speak and write against the evils of Islamic jihad and sharia are just as bad as jihadists. (snip)I have always respected what Zuhdi Jasser was trying to do and avoided contradicting him in public, even though I do not believe that Islam is reformable. I have kept my opinion to myself regarding the false hope Muslim reformers are giving to the Americans regarding Islam. But when Jasser attacked leaders
The many versions of Caitlyn Jenner, chronicled in her new book, The Secrets of My Life, have passed through a dizzying series of variations, from a Wheaties box-ready, gold medal-winning Olympian in her former identity as Bruce, to the henpecked husband and paterfamilias of the Kardashian clan and featured player in their reality-television juggernaut, to—at age 65, when she announced her biggest secret to the world—the planet’s most famous transgender woman. (Video)The now 67-year-old Jenner, who has been a celebrity for most of her time on earth and spent the past two years as the nation’s highest-profile activist for LGBTQ
Governor of Ohio John Kasich urged Donald Trump to “take out” the top leadership in North Korea in order to solve the looming nuclear weapon problem. “We are getting very serious that they cannot have an ICBM. There’s a point at which saber-rattling is not effective, and you have to be very careful on how you approach that,” Kasich said at the Monitor Breakfast in Washington Friday. “I think you have to be careful that you get to a certain point. What do I think is going to happen there? I think the THAAD is the first big leverage I’ve
When someone is honestly 55 percent right, that’s very good and there’s no use wrangling. And if someone is 60 percent right, it’s wonderful, it’s great luck, and let him thank God. But what’s to be said about 75 percent right? Wise people say this is suspicious. Well, and what about 100 percent right? Whoever says he’s 100 percent right is a fanatic, a thug, and the worst kind of rascal. — An old Jew of Galicia In the final stretch of last year’s presidential race, Hillary Clinton and her team thought they were, if not 100 percent right, then very close.
(Washington, DC) — Judicial Watch today released new State Department documents including a declaration from FBI Special Agent E.W. Priestap, the supervisor of the agency’s investigation into Hillary Clinton’s email activities, stating that the former secretary of state was the subject of a grand jury investigation related to her BlackBerry email accounts. (Snip) In the filing Priestap declares under penalty of perjury that the FBI “obtained Grand Jury subpoenas related to the Blackberry e-mail accounts, which produced no responsive materials, as the requested data was outside the retention time utilized by those providers.” On April 30, 2015, Judicial Watch sued
Sergio Canavero, a controversial professor and neurosurgeon, wants to perform the first human head transplant in December. He told German magazine OOOM that the procedure will take place in China. According to the Observer, it will take 80 surgeons, 36 hours and $10 million to execute. Like a sci-fi tale come to life, Canavero, who’s also the former director of the Turin Advanced Neuromodulation Group, claims that people whose brains have been cryogenically frozen could be revived within three years. “At the moment, I can only disclose that there has been massive progress in medical experiments that would have seemed
Britain’s largest national student union has told attendees of its annual conference they would face “consequences” for cheering and clapping because these forms of expression exclude deaf people. The National Union of Students (NUS), which includes most university student unions, held a two-day conference on Tuesday. During the conference, audience members were repeatedly warned that they must stop whooping and expressing support for a speaker because it has “serious impact” on the accessibility of the conference, The Daily Telegraph reported. Instead of clapping, the students were advised to use “jazz hands” – a gesture when people wave their hands in
