“If I will have to choose between losing more lives of Israelis, whether they are civilians or soldiers, or losing you, I will sadly, sorrowfully, rather lose you.” The divide between Israelis and American Jews seems to be growing. Indications of the widening gap came last week with reports of a confrontation between an American Jewish activist and four members of Knesset, from across the political spectrum, at a synagogue near Boston. As reported at The Algemeiner, at the end of a forum at Brookline’s Congregation Kehillath Israel, an audience member named Shifrah told the four Israeli lawmakers, “You are losing

American Jews have most always been known in recent history to be quite thoroughly liberal. To not be, is the exception. Even in the Old Testament. Heck, when the NYSlimes was owned by a liberal when Hitler was slaying Jews in prison camps, the NYSlimes was famously ´silent´ about this genocide. They have slided even further leftward today. Rather an amazing thing to behold.

Allowing leftoid sympathies to overshadow their good sense and the fact that, at least ethnically, they are Jews. Sad, sad, that they cannot make such elementary factual and moral distinctions. Apparently they do not want to claim God´s promise that He has given the descendants of Abraham, that is thru Isaac´s line, given them the Promised Land as an ETERNAL inheritance.

I left the Reform Congregations of my youth because of their liberal politics.

I started going to Chabad, and found both conservatism and real Judaism.

I have to wonder if American Jews have not suffered the same Relativism that has eroded a lot of Christian churches and separated the faith from the people. It seems to me that a lot of people claiming Jewish ancestry are quick to point out that they are not "religious" but find a substitute in the more New Age/Relativism that infected a lot of faithful discourse back in the 50s - 70s. So many faithful claim to be part of a faith but then eschew the tenets of their faith with the speed of Peter denying Christ.

"I am [fill in blank]...but not like THAT. I don´t do THAT."

Its sad, really. A couple of years ago, I discovered I am a 1/4 Ashkenazi, which thrilled me to no end, because I have always been drawn to Judaism...and not just because I was raised Christian. But so many others that I have met that were Jewish liked to claim the culture/tradition/history/genetic association, but not the FAITH. This upsets me so much.

From the days of Moses, there has been division among Jews. That the hypocritical chickens of the secular liberals have come home to roost was inevitable, and is a good thing.

How ironic that in addition to the orthodox Jews, evangelical Christians are the most reliable supporters of Israel. The common thread is genuine belief in the Bible, and the Bible tells them so.

History is replete with ironies.

Republican senators could investigate U.S. tax dollars funding liberal billionaire George Soros’ networks abroad “through other means” if the Trump administration’s State Department doesn’t provide answers. Six GOP senators wrote Secretary of State Rex Tillerson in March to ask for a State Department probe into how the federal grants are being used by Soros-funded Open Society Foundations, specifically in Macedonia and Albania, to promote progressive causes and undermine conservative and moderate political leaders in those countries. The State Department Bureau of Legislative Affairs responded not by addressing the question of a probe, but defending the U.S. Agency for International Development, or

Without Trump, Vietnam War veterans would have never gotten their heroes´ welcome. Last month for the first time in more than 25 years, there was a White House celebration of Medal of Honor Day. Twenty-five Medal of Honor recipients joined President Trump, Vice President Pence, Secretary of Defense Mattis and the head of the Veterans’ Administration, David Shulkin, for an Oval Office commemoration of their courage and service to the nation. But was this a sincere gesture or just a cynical play to win over American veterans for a stronger role in Trump’s base of support? In January, a year earlier, in

President Donald Trump’s nomination of Judge Neil Gorsuch to the Supreme Court almost certainly will lead to his swearing in as the ninth member of that tribunal by the end of April. With any luck, it will lead to an even more important reform: elimination of the Senate filibuster. The Senate filibuster is the modern descendant of the Senate’s one-time tradition of unlimited debate. Unlike in the far larger House of Representatives, where every speech is of limited duration, a senator who has the floor can keep it until overcome by exhaustion or an irresistible call of nature. Differential access to safe neighborhoods with good schools, decent jobs and unbalanced treatment by police and the courts surely have much to do with the stubborn disparities in wealth and well-being among blacks and whites, in particular. Yet it may be just as important to consider what happens when we’re asleep. Race shapes our sleep, a relationship that has surprising roots deep in our national past. A review of Donald Trump´s business career would lead one to say that he has always over-promised and under-delivered. Whether his long list of bankruptcies in the ever-profitable casino business, the failures of his "university,´ steak, vodka or clothing lines, there has been a history of putting himself first, while ignoring the needs of his constituents. We may be seeing that play out in his approach to government, as well. Ex-President Barack Obama is the mystery man of American politics. Given the absence of a viable paper trail, nobody can say for sure who he is. He manifests for us as a figure of multiple identities: a Christian, a Muslim, a secularist, a socialist, a humanist, an intellectual, a man of the people. His lack of definable substance, his inner absence, has been an important political advantage. As Obama himself confessed (or boasted) in The Audacity of Hope, this layering of anonymities enabled him to “serve as a blank screen on which people of vastly different political stripes project their
