Feinstein: Constitution A ´Living Document;´
´Originalism... Very Troubling´

Daily Wire, by Robert Kraychik

Several Senate Democrats were unified in deriding originalism as a judicial philosophy during Monday’s Senate Judiciary Committee hearing on the nomination of Judge Neil Gorsuch to Supreme Court justiceship Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.), ranking Democrat of the committee, described originalism as a "very troubling” jurisprudential approach. The Framers, she added, intended for the Constitution to be continuously reinterpreted over time (emphasis added): “Judge Gorsuch has also stated that he believes judges should look to the original public meaning of the Constitution when they decide what a provision of the Constitution means. This is personal, but I find this originalist judicial

I can´t find anywhere in the United States Constitution where it says open to interpretation in the future...

There is a section that talks about amending said Constitution though.

Most democrats that I know don´t believe in rules. They believe in fairness which they get to determine on a case by case basis.

I often ask them how the would like the idea of interpreting the Constitution to round up all Jews in concentration camps.

Well I never want that to happen.

It is very troubling for brain dead idiots like her for a judge to actually decide cases based on the law, and not what they wish the law was. Living things can be killed and die. Sorry but our beloved Constitution is the rules of the game, and are not changeable based on mobocracy. Try going to Brazil and undermining their country´s constitution and government and leave ours alone. Hey girl, it´s happy hour! You better get going!

The Democrats want no document (Constitution) or law to hinder their quest to control American´s lives. They want to be able to tell Americans what they can think, what they can eat, what they can breath, what they can read, where they can read, what kind of healthcare they can have etc. Thus any document that prevents that must be dissed, disregarded or attacked.

When you listened to those liberal Democrat Senators today give their opening statements at the confirmation hearing, it sounded like they were pushing an ultra liberal political agenda from Mars. Their ldeology seemed centered on only confirming liberal Democrat activist judges whose primary agenda was to issue what they considered to be a "fair" ruling in a liberal Democrat political sense while ignoring the US Constitution and laws passed by the Congress. They had no problems at all with judges making new law on the bench, as long as those judicial edicts were in confirmation with the liberal Democrat social agenda. There is no doubt if the liberal Democrats don´t implode politically, and someday obtain the majority in the Supreme Court that they will immediately attempt to ban all modern semi-automatic handguns, rifles, and shotguns that they consider to be "assault" weapons, even if by doing so they cause what amounts to a second civil war.

When you throw out "originalism" you have a document which means absolutely nothing. My opinion has just as much value as some brain dead liberal, and vica versa of course, but in the end the document, which is intended to rein in and limit the federal government and guarantee liberty to the individual, does neither.

Law that can be reinterpreted to someone´s (a judge´s) will or agenda is NO law. The next judge that comes along might decide something entirely different. This would redefine what is legal as a beast that lurches in one direction and another based on the prevailing winds. As a citizen, I could be acting lawfully today and on someone´s whim, tomorrow I am a criminal.

That is insane.

It is the same consideration they give the Bible. They don´t like what it says, therefore, it can´t possibly be relevant today. Progressives hate any authority but their own. Truth be told, if they could they would get rid of both and replace them with their most learned wisdom. Instant chaos and mayhem would ensue. They would be at the mercy of their own failed ideology. They are quite like toddlers screaming, you aren´t the boss of me!

When it comes to repealing and replacing Obamacare, defenders of President Barack Obama´s signature domestic law constantly ask, "What about those with pre-existing illnesses?" After all, the most popular feature of Obamacare is that it prohibits insurance companies from denying coverage because an applicant has a pre-existing illness. And President Donald Trump and House Speaker Paul Ryan insist that those with pre-existing conditions will be covered. But by agreeing with Obama on the issue of pre-existing illnesses, by promising to replace Obamacare "with something better," Republicans are making a massive concession: That access to health care insurance should be guaranteed by
