Meals on Wheels Program Will Not
Be Eliminated by Federal Budget

Washington Free Beacon, by Andrew Kugle

Various media outlets have published articles claiming that the Trump administration´s federal budget will eliminate funding for the Meals on Wheels program, whose volunteer drivers deliver hot meals to senior Americans across the country. But the federal budget is cutting funds to a federal grant program that provides just three percent of the Meals on Wheels revenue budget, and the program will still receive significant federal funding. Articles like the Hill´s "Trump proposed budget eliminates funds for Meals on Wheels," or the Huffington Post´s, "#LetThemDie: ‘Heartless’ Donald Trump Blasted For Slashing Meals On Wheels Funds," have been shared thousands of

I knew this last week, (link below) but that didn´t change even FNC from making outrageous, erroneous comments about this. Chris Wallace and Eric Shawn but were guilty of that. Shawn has been very good on reporting on voter fraud. He should know better than that. Those of us here are very well informed, but the huge number of people who are not is terrifying. The lies and fraud in the media is terribly disturbing. I don´t know how we survive as a nation when practically all you get is propaganda.

You also realize that this will be the first actual budget by appropriations in nearly 10 years.

And, any consideration of a reduction in spending increase from what Democrats "want" will be considered a cut.

So, if they want 8% increase and only get 6% increase it´s a catastrophe, in the minds of democrats.

Republicans need to call them on this "fake cuts" and make them provide proof.

For some reason the sheer amount of lies and propaganda today is depressing me. That rat Comey comes out and says there is zero evidence that the Russians had anything to do with the election but all the headlines choose to feature, is no wiretapping. Then so much hate on all the left wing websites comment sections. It is like a huge lies and hate fest and it is getting to me.

I used to rent a room from an elderly person who received the meals on wheels every day. His refrigerator was filled with them. I asked why they didn´t get eaten, and he said because they are disgusting, tasteless and nasty. Most of the time he fed the small portion of meat to his dog, kept the tiny carton of milk for his coffee, and the rest ended up in the trash after turning into a mold experiment. A total waste of money due to inedible food.

In central Indiana, Meals on Wheels requires a doctor´s prescription to even start the process.

Then there´s a $5 application fee, and an initial $60 payment to cover the first 2 weeks of deliveries. With $30 per week after that.

What´s the need for government subsidy after private charitable donations and user fees are taken into account??

I think that for $30 a week, I could feed myself pretty well. What is the purpose of Meals on Wheels anyway? Is it for the indigent? Or for those who cannot get to the grocery store? Or those unab le to cook for themselves?

White House officials Monday denounced a Washington Post report that President Trump revealed classified information about ISIS to Russia´s foreign minister and Moscow´s ambassador to the United States during a White House meeting last week. Current and former IRS officials are asking not to publicly testify about the agency´s alleged bias against Tea Party and other conservative organizations, claiming they are in danger if they do so. Former official Lois Lerner and Holly Paz both argued in recent filings under seal in the U.S. District Court in Cincinnati that the death threats and other harassment they have faced take precedence over the public´s right to hear their testimony on the case of IRS bias against conservative groups, USA Today reported. The officials during the Obama administration were accused of singling out Tea Party and other conservative groups

An April 27 report from the Office of the Director of National Intelligence revealed that during 2016 the National Security Agency (NSA) collected some 151 million phone records of Americans, despite passage of the USA Freedom Act of 2015. While that law supposedly ended the program enabling the NSA to collect the phone records of Americans in bulk, it nonetheless allowed the NSA to continue accessing records from phone numbers of suspected terrorists via court orders. The report revealed that the NSA still collected 151 millions phone records the next year under the new system, while obtaining court orders on

Trump has frequently spoken about the need to protect police from targeted acts of violence, and said during his candidacy that he would be the "law and order candidate."

American retail culture may well have reached a tipping point. Major department stores are floundering about like fish in a rapidly draining pond after reporting dreadful earnings last week. The time-honored multigenerational giants like Macy’s, Sears and JCPenney are all looking at a dramatically different future. Macy’s stock collapsed 17 percent after Thursday’s first-quarter report. And high-end retail behemoths like Nordstrom are getting clobbered, too. Shares of that politically petulant retailer fell 11 percent Thursday on news of its first-quarter results. Better take a good look, because this may be last call for the mall.
