Supreme Court refuses to dismiss

The Supreme Court has rejected Sen. Bob Menendez´s attempt to throw out the bribery and corruption charges against him, setting the stage for a trial for the New Jersey Democrat this fall. With Monday´s announcement, Menendez can no longer block the proceedings against him from moving forward, a major setback for his efforts to avoid criminal trial. Abbe Lowell, Menendez´s lead defense attorney, said the Supreme Court´s decision not to hear the appeal was "disappointing," but still said Menendez will be "vindicated when all the facts are heard at trial." "It´s disappointing that the Supreme Court did not take this opportunity to set

Isn´t it funny that Menendez and his attorney are bringing up separation of powers as a concern. What BS. Didn´t hear that argument when they were looking into Sen Stevens.

Good old Abbe Lowell. I guess Menendez knows what kind of trouble he is up against.:

"Lowell has defended political figures including John Edwards,[7] Jim Wright, Dan Rostenkowski, Charles Keating,[8] and Gary Condit[9] former Nevada Governor Jim Gibbons,[10] U.S. Rep. Joseph McDade[11] and lobbyist Jack Abramoff."

He keeps great company.
Also minority attorney in Clintons impeachment.

The irony of this is if Menencez is convicted and removed from offfice, his replacement will be worse.
It is, after all, New Jersey.

#3, we know we can count on Christie to NOT support the actual conservative pick, which is how we got Booker.

Wednesday, the House Intelligence Chairman Rep. Devin Nunes (R-CA) said the U.S. intelligence community “incidentally collected” information on President Donald Trump transition team. Nunes said, “So first I recently confirmed that on numerous occasions, the intelligence community incidentally collected information about U.S. citizens involved in the Trump transition. Details about U.S. persons associated with the incoming administration, details with little or no apparent foreign intelligence value were widely disseminated in intelligence community reporting. Third, I have confirmed that additional names of Trump transition team members were unmasked. And fourth and finally I want to be clear, none of this surveillance

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) estimates 20,484 migrants have arrived in Europe by sea since the beginning of 2017, with numbers likely to explode as the continent heads into spring. These totals do not include 3,312 migrants picked up off Libya on the 19th of March who are currently en route to Italy, according to the text of the IOM’s report. Including these migrants puts the number of Italian arrivals well ahead of the total for the first three months of 2015 (10,165) and the first three months of 2016 (18,777) – and March 2017 has over a week

Failing to repeal Obamacare would be “the ultimate betrayal of the electorate.” That’s what Charles Krauthammer said just last month. He was right. Congressional Republicans have been defined by nothing so much as their opposition to Obamacare since 2009. That opposition has been the source of four successful elections that have seen Republicans gain 62 seats in the House, 12 seats in the Senate, and now control of the White House. Given the dubious circumstances surrounding the passage of Obamacare in 2010, it should be no surprise that resistance to its mandates has proved so durable. Throughout the entire debate

The Montgomery County Public School superintendent, Jack R. Smith, held a press conference last night to discuss the rape of a 14-year-old ninth grade student by two illegal alien students, also enrolled in the ninth grade, aged 17 and 18. Mr. Smith begins the press conference by stating anyone who opposes undocumented adult illegal aliens being allowed to enroll in Montgomery County Public Schools with young students is a bigot and a racist. The far-left political advocacy of this progressive School Superintendent is stunning. This school district is so far over the ideological deep end, it seems hopeless for the residents and

Alex Skatell, the conservative website’s founder, suspended Mr. Johnson, viral editor Kyle Becker and content editor Becca Lower for publishing the report last week that suggested Mr. Obama may have influenced a Hawaii judge’s ruling blocking President Trump’s second travel ban, Business Insider reported. IJR later retracted the story, saying in an editor’s note that it didn’t meet the outlet’s editorial standards. A person familiar with the matter told Business Insider that

Will Judge Neil Gorsuch get "Borked?" Some Democrats, still seething over the stalled U.S. Supreme Court nomination of Merrick Garland, are trying. But their dream of delivering political retribution has, thus far, fizzled. That is not likely to change. Gorsuch’s credentials are too impeccable, his intellect too keen and his temperament too even to fall victim to the kind of debasement that felled Judge Robert Bork and coined an infamous phrase. If the Gorsuch confirmation hearings have proven anything, it’s that his opponents have no powder in their guns. Try as they may, there is little in the record of Neil Gorsuch that
