In the left-leaning Big Apple, it’s a fashion faux pas more fatal than walking around in sandals with socks, or strapping a fanny pack around your waist: wearing a “Make America Great Again” hat. To see for myself, I sported the fire-engine red baseball cap worn by Donald Trump on the campaign trail in liberal gin joints and shops across Manhattan and Brooklyn. I may as well have been wearing a Red Sox hat at Yankee Stadium. The mere sight of my cap nearly caused a riot at the historic Stonewall Inn on Christopher Street — site of the 1969 riots
Comments: Scenes of illiberal intolerance in the Progressively Rotten Apple. Amusing piece.
Funny, I wore that same hat all over the Alabama Gulf Coast this weekend and was complimented multiple times. In fact, a group of very well behaved college students asked to have their picture taken with me on the beach because of my hat--and they were very sincere in how happy they are that Trump won and that their futures are much brighter.
Lesson. Forget New York. Spend your money in great states like Alabama!
Funny how gays loved Obama, who let homosexual-hating Muslims into the country willy-nilly, but they loathe Trump, who would keep out those who would do them harm. Also, Obama was against gay marriage before he was for it.
Obama did not do anything for blacks in eight years, while Trump wants to stop the killing and gang violence. Funny which one of the presidents the blacks hate.
Just like schoolkids. They hate who the cool kids tell them to hate.
Next to that story is a girl who tried this out too and was asked by bar managers to remove the hat. Now would they ask people to remove Obama hats? Isn´t that total discrimination, can we sue them and hurt them like they hurt the bakers and the florist who do not want to serve gays. I want to get these people, and make them suffer and pay, like they do to all of us. They are the true authoritarians and such freaking hypocrites.
I suppose liberals don´t want to make America great again, because if everyone worked hard and got along, the liberals would be out of business.
Or worse, they think that an America with BLM snipers shooting sitting-duck cops in their cars, criminal flash mobs looting stores, gays suing Christian businesses and hairy perverts clad in dresses taking potty breaks in the ladies´ room is already great and needs no changes.
Nashville, Tenn. - A push by lawmakers to dig up President James K. Polk´s body and move it for the third time since his death nearly 170 years ago is riling people in Tennessee. Polk dramatically expanded the United States by annexing Texas and seizing California and the Southwest in a war with Mexico. He died of cholera in 1849 and is buried on the grounds of the state Capitol in Nashville. Some Tennessee legislators say his white-columned tomb is in such an out-of-the-way place that many visitors don´t even know it´s there. They say he deserves better
Cops caught the parolee who forced his way into a woman’s Lower East Side home and tried to rape her earlier this month, police said Saturday. Robert Adams, 41, grabbed a 25-year-old woman as she entered the front door of her building on Norfolk and Rivington Sts. just after midnight on March 3, cops said. (Snip) Adams has been arrested 40 times since 1998, mostly for robbery and drug possession, police said. He is on parole until 2020 after serving two years in prison for a 2012 perjury conviction. The homeless career criminal is also a suspect in four robberies
Police in Germany knew Anis Amri was planning a suicide attack nine months before he drove a lorry into a packed Christmas market in Berlin last December, killing 12 people, it has emerged. The German equivalent of CID warned in a confidential memo to regional authorities last March, that it has intercepted communications indicating Amri was planning a suicide attack, and recommended he be deported. But the state government of North Rhine-Westphalia ruled that an order to expel him was not legally enforcable. The new disclosures will add to questions over why Amri was allowed to remain in Germany
A Jordanian imam has prompted outrage by quoting an anti-Semitic verse that calls for Jewish people to be killed during a sermon at a Montreal mosque, a report said Thursday. The cleric, Sheikh Muhammad bin Musa Al Nasr, is believed to have been invited as a guest to the Dar Al-Arqam Mosque in the Canadian city´s Saint-Michel neighborhood in December, CBC reported. A Jewish advocacy group lodged a police complaint Monday against the imam, who quoted a verse stating: ´O Muslim, O servant of Allah, O Muslim, O servant of Allah, there is a Jew behind me, come and kill
The Russian distributor of Power Rangers has given the film an 18+ rating after criticism from several legislators who complained about the film’s inclusion of a LGBT character. WDSSPR, the Russian distributor of Power Rangers, informed cinemas on Friday that the film would have the highest possible age restrictions after the hardline legislator Vitaly Milonov suggested it should be banned. Milonov singled out the film’s director, Dean Israelite, and compared the film to fascist ideology. “If fascist ideology is banned in our country, then [movies by] the likes of Dean Israelite should be banned first thing,” he said, according to the Hollywood
Walnut Hills, OH - A driver was fatally shot after hitting a 4-year-old boy in Walnut Hills Friday, according to Cincinnati Police. The child was crossing the 2300 block of Kenton Street around noon when he was struck by a silver car. Three nearby pedestrians then confronted the driver and passenger, said Sergeant Eric Franz. At some point, an altercation broke out and shots were fired. The driver of the car was taken to the hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. (Snip) The victim has been identified as Jamie Urton, 44. The child suffered non-life threatening injuries.
Two knife-wielding men driving a Peugeot Partner ploughed into revellers queuing for a pub and ´knocked them over like dominoes´ in a horrifying attack in Islington tonight. Two men and one woman were injured on the lively Essex road in north London before the driver and passenger sped off then got out and fled on foot. (Snip) She said: ´There were about twenty people in the queue and I was at the back with my friends. ´The car came screeching round the corner at about 50mph and was coming straight for me. ´I pushed over the barriers and fell to
North Dakotans will no longer need a permit to carry a concealed weapon after Republican Governor Doug Burgum signed legislation lifting restrictions, a victory for gun rights advocates that came a week after South Dakota´s governor vetoed a similar bill. The law, which takes effect on Aug. 1, mandates that gun owners only need a North Dakota driver´s license or state identification card for at least a year before they can carry a concealed firearm in public. (Snip) The legislation makes North Dakota the 12th state to allow gun owners to carry their weapons without a concealed-carry permit, according to
A Louisiana law enforcement officer was convicted Friday on a lesser charge of manslaughter in a shooting that killed a 6-year-old autistic boy, an encounter captured on tape by another officer’s body camera. Jurors found Derrick Stafford guilty of manslaughter and attempted manslaughter charges, multiple news outlets reported. He had faced charges of second-degree murder and attempted second-degree murder in the case. (Snip) Video from a police officer’s body camera shows the father, Christopher Few, had his hands raised inside his vehicle while the two deputies collectively fired 18 shots. At least four of those bullets hit Jeremy,
An illegal immigrant is alleged to have strangled a 49-year-old woman to death inside her home in the Boston suburb of Worcester, Massachusetts earlier this month. Sandra Hehir´s body was found in her apartment on February 5, according to The Boston Globe. The Worcester district attorney´s office said it obtained DNA evidence which links Jose Melendez, 54, to the crime. Melendez, who was arrested last week, has a history of run-ins with law enforcement. He reportedly defaulted on probation in 2014 in a breaking and entering case, and he also faces charges in two drug cases in Worcester.
A French -Tunisian has been arrested after trying to drive a car loaded with liquid gas, assault rifles and knives into a crowd of shoppers in Antwerp in an attempted terror attack. Belgian police, who confirmed the bomb squad had been sent to the area, said the car was being driven at high speed and that pedestrians had to jump out of the way to avoid being injured. (Snip) Belgian police arrested a man named as Mohamed R, 39, on Thursday after he tried to drive into a crowd at high-speed in a shopping area in the port city of
Stung by falling sales at Philadelphia stores since the city started taxing soda and other soft drinks last fall, Pepsi and Coca-Cola are selling smaller containers that incur less tax. Pepsi will be replacing 2-liter bottles with 1-liter bottles, which it called an example of the "products and package sizes working families are more able to afford," spokeswoman Jennifer Ryan told me. "We believe this will give our retail and foodservice partners the best chance to succeed in this challenging environment and will minimize the chance of product going out-of-date," she added.
Nearly three months after the Trump clan moved into their new posh Washington neighborhood, neighbors of Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner have expressed their fury over the presidential family´s lack of community etiquette that is ´ruining´ the suburb. Residents have complained their new neighbors have been hogging parking on an already crowded street and leaving trash bags rotting on the curb. A big part of the complaint: a huge security presence, with even a trip to the playground requiring three vans. They have groused that sidewalks have been closed, public parking overrun and that the family and their staff can´t
President Obama’s oldest daughter can’t control her temper like daddy taught her to. (Photos) Saturday, March 25, 2017, found Malia Obama, the 44th President’s oldest daughter, at the Parlor, an exclusive Soho club, for a 21-and-over event. Martina Markota was with Lucian Wintrich and was the first to make note of Malia Obama being there: (Tweet) The minor had been rubbing shoulders with other guests all night until she spotted the Gateway Pundit’s own White House correspondent Lucian Wintrich. She was quick to confront him: (Tweet) Multiple witnesses watched as Malia Obama, Obama’s oldest daughter, ran up to Wintrich with
Donald Trump had heard enough about policy and process. It was Thursday afternoon and members of the House Freedom Caucus were peppering the president with wonkish concerns about the American Health Care Act—the language that would leave Obamacare’s “essential health benefits” in place, the community rating provision that limited what insurers could charge certain patients, and whether the next two steps of Speaker Paul Ryan’s master plan were even feasible—when Trump decided to cut them off."Forget about the little "stuff", Trump said, according to multiple sources in the room. "Let´s focus on the big picture here."The group of roughly 30
House Speaker Paul Ryan didn’t just step in it again, big time, on the Ryancare bill this week. The Wisconsin Republican unmasked himself as the man most capable of demolishing his own party and the Trump presidency. The Ryan American Healthcare Bill is a piece of moderate GOP trash that Mr. Ryan owns and has been trying and failing miserably to sell as the long-promised Republican repeal and replacement of Obamacare. By telling conservatives in the House and across America to go have intimate relations with themselves and not meddle in the medical-care matters of him and the rest of
Matryoshkas are Russian nesting dolls. Inside each doll are several others smaller but identically shaped characters until you get to the smallest one inside. Studying what we have learned of the timeline -- and we still don’t have the entire story -- we see Wikileaks, the smallest, at the core, and Obama as the largest piece in what is the most historically outrageous misuse of the people and institutions of government for partisan advantage.
Former President Barack Obama´s journey to French Polynesia was undertaken so he could write his memoir. Obama arrived at a luxury resort frequented by Hollywood stars in mid-March, though it was unknown at the time what he was doing there. The Washington Post reported Sunday that Obama is writing his White House memoir during his extended stay at the eco-friendly resort in French Polynesia´s atoll of Tetiaroa. Bidding for the former president and first lady Michelle Obama´s book rights surpassed $60 million.
Broken promises are as old as politics itself, and there are many famous examples of them in modern history. President George H.W. Bush´s "read my lips, no new taxes" pledge comes immediately to mind, as does President Bill Clinton reneging on his middle-class tax cut, and President Barack Obama never closing Guantanamo Bay. But in each of those cases, those were promises that were made in a given campaign by a given politician. The promise of Obamacare repeal is much different. Republicans ran on repealing and replacing Obamacare for seven years, over the course of four election cycles. They won the
Brexit was caused in part by climate change, former US Vice-President Al Gore has said, warning that extreme weather is creating political instability “the world will find extremely difficult to deal with”. Mr Gore, speaking at an event in which he previewed a sequel to his landmark 2006 documentary, An Inconvenient Truth, said the “principal” cause of the Syrian Civil War had been the worst drought in 900 years, which forced 1.5 million people to move from the countryside to the cities. There they met a similar number of Iraqis who had fled the conflict in their homeland, creating powder keg conditions
It is hard to overestimate the damage the Freedom Caucus has done to the fledgling presidency of Donald Trump, and to the country. By blocking the American Health Care Act of 2017, the conservative group has guaranteed that Americans will struggle forward under the burden of Obamacare. In the next few months insurers will announce their premium hikes for the coming year; chances are, given the continuing withdrawal of major companies from the marketplaces and the ongoing failure of the bill to attract enough young and healthy participants, the new rates will not be pretty. Last year premiums went up
Fool me once, shame on you. Fool Huma Abedin four times, and she’ll still take you back. After years of public humiliation by her sext-a-holic husband, Anthony Weiner, 40-year-old Abedin finally separated from the former congressman in August, one day after The Post reported that he had sent yet another explicit photo to a woman — this one showing his toddler son asleep beside him. But sources tell The Post that Hillary Clinton’s righthand woman is now giving the marriage another try. “Huma has been working hard on her relationship with Anthony,” said a source close to the Abedin family. “He has been
Former Vice President Joe Biden expressed some regrets at not becoming the 45th President of the United States this week. Biden spoke at Colgate University on Friday in New York and said that while he knew not becoming a candidate was the best decision for his family, he regrets not becoming president. “I had planned on running for president and although it would have been a very difficult primary, I think I could have won. Maybe not, I don’t know,” he said. Biden lost his son Beau Biden to brain cancer in 2015. He said that he felt running for
The first cocktail party at Barack Obama’s new office last month was certainly more casual than any he had hosted in recent years. The wine bore a random assortment of labels, as if assembled potluck-style. The self-serve appetizers were set out in the narrow hallway. The host, tieless, eschewed formal remarks, as a few dozen of his old administration officials — Joe Biden and former chief of staff Denis McDonough, as well as more junior ones — mingled in a minimalist wood-paneled suite that could be mistaken for a boutique law firm. “It was a bit of a shock to
