Is Colin Kaepernick being blackballed
by NFL teams? Prove he´s not

MSN Sports, by David Steele

Original Article

Posted By:NorthernDog, 3/19/2017 11:15:36 AM

It seemed a little early to condemn NFL teams for freezing out Colin Kaepernick. Barely a week had gone by in free agency. With one exception — albeit a grotesque, borderline-obscene one — not many quarterbacks had been coming off of the market. Bleacher Report’s Friday story on how front-office types still want nothing to do with him for his protests during the national anthem shined another light on it. (Snip) Come on. Stop it. Do not ever say Colin Kaepernick can´t get a job because he´s not good enough. Think of a better excuse. Think of a better lie.

Comments:
We can always hope so.

Would you hire him? Not that talented and a troublemaker who drives away fans and probably disrupts the team (it is supposed to be a team).

This will probably turn into another racialist deal. His radical girlfriend won’t help (is she still in the picture?)…

Sometimes people set up the blackball on themselves. That’s Kaepernick, in my book. His game is now Social Justice. Their game is Football. For money. Shut up and perform or buh-bye.

He and Michael Sam could go somewhere and have a good cry.

His stats the last few years is all the proof you need: as a quarterback he stinks. The Anthem nonsense is just a distraction from that inconvenient fact.

(A very unfortunate headline in our color blind society!)

Kaepernick tends to overlook open receivers down-field, upsetting the timing of lots of plays. His line cannot protect him efficiently unless they know what he is going to do, and the receivers down-field aren´t much use if the ball is not delivered to them on time.

And his political apeshit is a net debit.

Of course he is not being hired because he is a problem for any franchise that hires him.
Just like hiring the openly gay player or hiring Tebow.
They chose to have a profitable business, not a left wing propaganda tool.
I doubt that all of the owners contacted each other to conspire against Colin.
He has damaged his star by himself.

Colin´s fate was sealed when the ticket sales and NFL viewer ratings took a nosedive after his hate-America stunt. The left can´t stand it when their sick tricks backfire. I wish the worst for him and all others like him.

"Seems a little early to condemn NFL teams for freezing out Colin Kaepernick.."

The NFL was already condemned by real Americans for letting this POS diss the flag and the country. Kaepernick put himself in this position so there is no reason to condemn the NFL for not picking up a racist troublemaker.

Ditto #7. I´ve got news for Mr. Sportswriter-cum-social-justice warrior: nobody has to prove a darn thing to you; if you´re too stupid to see the picture for yourself, that´s your problem. The NFL´s problem is a decline in viewership, and they are doing a little something about it here.

The author is an idiot.

Kaepernicks "performance" includes more than stats which the author faintly praises as "not terrible".

Professional sports are ENTERTAINMENT. The ultimate measure of performance therefore is box-office revenue, not "stats"

If Kaepernick could make a team a boatload of money, he would be sitting on a juicy contract already.

Instead, more than one news source attributes a declined in NFL TV viewership to the politicization of football.

If the NFL loses half of its viewers, how secure does David Steele think MSN Sports, his job, or his income are?

Get over yourself dude. Football is entertainment. You get negative reviews, it doesn;t matter if you believe your performance is politically relevant. That´s not what the customer wants.

Let´s say the guy had really good skills as a quarterback. I still wouldn´t consider him because it doesn´t matter how good you are at the game if you can´t be a leader. As a Quarterback it is just as critical to be be a team leader as it is to see the field and hit the target. As a self-absorbed, left-wing, radical "victim" Kaepernick is not a leader of men. He´s a problem child.

It is to be expected that Kaepernick would have a hard time getting a new job in the NFL as his quarterbacking record has not been that good along, with the fact that NFL Head Coaches who are trying to win football games don´t need the off field distractions that Kaepernick has a history of initiating.

They dig up the most obscure things about a Supreme Court Nominee and don´t believe he is qualified to serve, but a guy who uses his star power to disrespect the national anthem based on his socioplitics, is a hero. Let him go out for a draft pick on a middle east soccer team in Iran see how that works out.

We need to adopt a policy in this country of go into politics join an Anti American group or leave it. You have a right to say what you please and do whatever stupid thing you wish, but the public also has the right to not want you messing with their country or being part of the sports choices. It´s like free speech you can go up to anyone and tell them what you think of them, that´s your right, what you risk however is getting punched in the nose. Not being popular any longer is his punch in the nose, live with it!. Simple, anybody?

He caused headaches and the fans to turn off football.

NOW...he says he´ll stand for the anthem. That alone proves it was a stunt to get attention.

I sure hope so.

At least now the NFL is showing some smarts.

They blew it when they didn´t kick him off the field on his first kneel.

Everyone is talking about his STATS as if HE were the team. If the teammates missed the block, or missed the pass, because KC and his kneeling - KC would have bad stats and the team would not win.

It´ll be interesting to see the 2017 49ers. I hope they bounce back.

I refused to watch the NFL all of 2016 (didn´t really miss it) - 2017 has a chance to come back, if I don´t see news articles about, pig socks, BLM t-shirts, hands-up-don´t-shoot gestures and Kneeling.

These overpaid entertainers can bloviate off the field, like actors Ashley Judd or Robert De Niro (that I´ll never pay to see again).

Re #35: Actually, "first kneel" isn´t quite accurate. At first, Kaepernick just kept his seat on the bench while everyone else stood for the anthem. It was some more media-savvy companions who convinced him that taking a knee looked a bit more like a legitimate, "respectful" protest than just the flagrant disrespect that he obviously intended. It´s a pet peeve of mine because his cheerleaders in the lefty media quickly changed the narrative to indicate that he simply "took a knee" all along.

The team managers and coaches will have the opportunity to draft young, healthy QBs, each with a world of potential. The QBs drafted will most likely used as be back ups, where they will have time to learn the team´s system and playbook, and make the adjustment to being instant millionaires.
Or they can draft Colin the Complainer. (He has been a whiner throughout his athletic career. UNLV was the only school to offer him a scholarship because of his size. SF got him relatively cheap, without having to use high draft picks to do it. (See Cleveland Browns, famous for drafting QBs badly.)
And finally, Colin can´t even operate on his principles. He says he will no longer do the protest stuff.
(Ironic that Colin, half black, was saved from the ghetto, or the Planned Parenthood abortion clinic, when his white teenaged mother, abandoned by her black sperm donor, entered into an open adoption with the Kaepernicks. Colin grew up in a loving white family who tried to help him maintain his black heritage. He had every advantage.
Yet he despises whites.)

He won one game last year. There is your proof. He´s not good enough.

Tebow was unconventional but won games. Osweiler was in his first year as a starter and won more games than he lost. Both took their teams to the playoffs and each won a playoff game. Both are spoken of as worthless, no-talent scum by the sports writers.

I do not feel sorry for Kaepernick at all. I think he started his "protest" when he knew he was on his way out, so that he could blame any ouster on that, rather than on his performance on the field.

I´ve been on several magazines, columns, and comment sections regarding some news about Kappy. Never have I seen a greater number of people say they would not watch him or any other 49er´s games because of him. The coaches considering him as a free agent are only listening to them and deciding he´s just not worth the loss of viewership. The whole NFL suffered last year. I, myself, only watched Seattle... It´s called natural consequences. Maybe now that he´s gone the NFL will be more enjoyable.

There are plenty of other mediocre quarterbacks out there that won´t cause massive PR headaches for your team.

So why would you waste time even talking to this idiot if you want your team to be popular (which equates to profitable)?!?!?

German Chancellor Angela Merkel expressed shock at the attack in which four people were killed and at least 20 injured in London on Wednesday, and she said her thoughts were with the British people and everyone in the capital. In the attack close to the British parliament a car plowed into pedestrians and an attacker stabbed a policeman, in what police called a terrorist incident. Today´s incident in Parliament comes on the one-year anniversary of the deadly Brussels airport attack. Armed cops swarmed around the Palace of Westminster this afternoon amid reports of gunfire and several people lying wounded in the street. Up to a dozen innocent pedestrians were mowed down by a vehicle on Westminster Bridge which then crashed into the gates outside Parliament. The incident had chilling echoes of Lee Rigby’s killingand the Nice lorry attack. Shocking pictures showed people lying stricken on the floor while paramedics worked on them as cops confirmed they were treating the incident as a terror attack. The incident, which

Sears Holdings Corp. acknowledged “substantial doubt” about its ability to keep operating, raising fresh concerns about a company that has lost more than $10 billion in recent years. The retailer added so-called going-concern language to its latest annual report filing, suggesting that weak earnings have cast a pall on its future as a business. “Our historical operating results indicate substantial doubt exists related to the company’s ability to continue as a going concern,” the Hoffman Estates, Illinois-based company said in the filing. But the company added that its comeback plan may help mitigate the concerns, “satisfying our estimated liquidity needs

WINNIPEG, Manitoba/OTTAWA - Nearly half of Canadians want to deport people who are illegally crossing into Canada from the United States, and a similar number disapprove of how Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is handling the influx, according to a Reuters/Ipsos opinion poll released on Monday. (Snip) There has been broad bipartisan support for high levels of legal immigration for decades in Canada. But Trudeau has come under pressure over the flow of the illegal migrants. With Democrats facing tough prospects in the midterm elections, will they also have to worry about primary challenges from their left flank? During his presidential campaign, Sen. Bernie Sanders never quite decided whether his "political revolution" could coexist with the Democratic Party or needed to overthrow it. Now, Sanders is one of the most popular political figures in the country and the activists he galvanized have gone on to start new groups, join old ones, or run electoral campaigns. The path of Sanders´ former staffers reflects the split in his movement, and the some are already galvanizing for the 2018

Gorsuch Confirmation Presents

WASHINGTON — When it comes to the Supreme Court nomination of Judge Neil M. Gorsuch, Senate Democrats appear to have two options: Get out of the way or get run over. Senate Republicans’ enthusiastic backing of President Trump’s nominee ensures majority support even before the confirmation hearing begins Monday. But the Republicans also hope that enough Democrats are won over by Judge Gorsuch — or recognize the inevitability of his confirmation — that they join in efforts to head off an explosive showdown over a filibuster. Should Democrats ultimately deny the judge the necessary backing to clear the way for

CHICAGO -- Police warn CTA commuters who take the Red Line to look out for thieves. There have been three robberies this week. During the robbery, three-to-four offenders approach the victims outside of a CTA Red Line Station or on the train. One asks a question to distract the rider -- then the others punch the victim in the face multiple times and goes through their pockets or purse. Two of the robberies happened just after 1 a.m. Friday; the first incident in the 100 block of West Adams -- then 20 minutes later again, in the 100 block of West Van Buren.

It seemed a little early to condemn NFL teams for freezing out Colin Kaepernick. Barely a week had gone by in free agency. Bleacher Report’s Friday story on how front-office types still want nothing to do with him for his protests during the national anthem shined another light on it. (Snip) Come on. Stop it. According to the study, which examines “alphabetism,” people with surnames beginning with a letter in the last half of the alphabet may face a tougher time academically, landing a first job and getting through life in general. The study, published last month, is not necessarily grounded in indisputable science. One of the lead researchers in the study said the results, however, were surprising. “Statistically, we were looking at two people
