I lived near Baton Rouge, and worked there until the late 90s when I moved 500 miles away. You couldn´t pay me enough to move back there. God bless the family of this officer, may he rest in peace.

President Trump can take heart from Ernest Hemingway… Those last years of his life were a nightmare for Hemingway. In the end he was being zapped with electric currents to bring him back to his senses. Or so the doctors assumed as a solution to his delusions and paranoia. But he suffered greatly from that procedure – and he may not have been so delusional, after all. Certainly he could write no more. Not after his brain was fried. Enfeebled, he could not help but submit to a System that demanded his compliance. Instead of getting better, he got worse,

As Islamic State loses ground in Iraq and Syria, the Sunni militant group which once held territory amounting to a third of those countries is turning to sabotage to ensure its enemies cannot benefit from its losses. As the Syrian army and allied militias advanced under heavy Russian air cover on the ancient city of Palmyra three weeks ago, Islamic State leaders ordered fighters to destroy oil and gas fields. "It is the duty of mujahideen today to expand operations targeting economic assets of the infidel regimes in order to deprive crusader and apostate governments of resources," an article in the

The hearing before the House Intelligence Committee comes amid the controversy fired up by Trump two weeks ago when he tweeted, without providing evidence, that President Obama ordered his phones tapped at Trump Tower. Professor Hans Joachim Schellnhuber (shown) wants to take us back to the Stone Age — literally. In a March 15 interview with the German newspaper Deutsche Welle, the German physicist declared that global warming is so serious that not only must we all give up the use of coal and our internal combustion vehicles in the next 13 years, but we must also ditch concrete and steel — for “wood, clay and stone.” If we don’t do this, along with other drastic measures, we are headed toward planetary warming of “4, 5, 6 or even 12 degrees,” he claims. Several Senate Democrats were unified in deriding originalism as a judicial philosophy during Monday’s Senate Judiciary Committee hearing on the nomination of Judge Neil Gorsuch to Supreme Court justiceship Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.), ranking Democrat of the committee, described originalism as a "very troubling” jurisprudential approach. The Framers, she added, intended for the Constitution to be continuously reinterpreted over time (emphasis added): “Judge Gorsuch has also stated that he believes judges should look to the original public meaning of the Constitution when they decide what a provision of the Constitution means. Last week, the British intelligence agency GCHQ took the rare step of debunking as “utterly ridiculous” the Trump administration’s insinuation that Britain spied on Donald Trump during the 2016 campaign. On Monday, FBI Director James B. Comey testified plainly that “I have no information that supports” President Trump’s accusations that his predecessor ordered the “wires tapped” at Trump Tower. These false statements from the White House are part of a disturbing pattern of behavior that poses real and potentially profound dangers to U.S. national security. The foundation of the United States’ unrivaled global leadership rests only in part on our military
