What happens if New York gets nuked? Scientists
simulate 20 MILLION people in massive computer
system to see how state would respond to a
nuclear attack

Daily Mail (UK), by James Wilkinson

Original Article

Scientists are conducting a massive computer simulation to work out how New York would respond to a nuclear attack in the heart of Manhattan. The three-year, $450,000 project will simulate two nuclear detonations and their effects on up to 20 million virtual ´agents´ each representing civilian, first responder or other official over the course of 30 days. But first they need to input data - a lot of data, taken from disaster reports across the US - to figure out how individuals really react to catastrophe. ´Computational social science is not experimental.´ Professor William Kennedy of Virginia´s George Mason University

Just like the weather ´scientists´ - they´ll input the data to make the outcome say what they want.

Specifically, what ever it takes to get another GRANT of federal (our tax) dollars to continue the experiment.

Anything to scare the public into giving them money or our rights.

This reminds me of the threat of the ocean rising and covering New York, Boston, Washington DC, San Francisco, etc., etc. - I don´t see the down side.

Dirty denim is the new black, selling for hundreds of dollars at pricy retailers like Nordstrom. Nordstrom is offering "heavily distressed," muddy jeans for $425 on its web site. Nordstrom says that the jeans "embody rugged, Americana workwear that´s seen some hard-working action with a crackled, caked-on muddy coating that shows you´re not afraid to get down and dirty." The mud has a shiny sheen to it, as if the jeans were dragged down a filthy hill and left in a wet ditch. The filthy fashion statement isn´t actually new -- the jeans have been for sale at Nordstrom as well as at Neiman Marcus and Saks Fifth Avenue for quite some time.
