He´d been waiting for this day, and when his doctor handed him the mirror, Andy Sandness stared at his image and absorbed the enormity of the moment: He had a new face, one that had belonged to another man. His father and his brother, joined by several doctors and nurses at Mayo Clinic, watched as he studied his swollen features. He was just starting to heal from one of the rarest surgeries in the world - a face transplant, the first at the medical center. He had the nose, cheeks, mouth, lips, jaw, chin, even the teeth of his donor.

Yet another reason to sign up as an organ donor and donor of other body components. I carry the donor card, but I also have told my immediate family of my wishes. Actually, I can´t think of a single reason NOT to donate.

By the way, if you "donate your body to science," the body parts are not given to patients----the medical school just uses the cadaver for instruction or research.

Paul Ryan is proving to be all

Now that President Trump has survived his first 100 days, a burning question in Washington is whether House Speaker Paul Ryan will survive the second 100 days. A miracle might be needed. Ryan’s repeated inability to pass anything resembling a repeal of ObamaCare goes beyond simple failure. It’s shaping up as a potential disaster for the Trump presidency and the GOP congressional majority. With every Republican talking about little else for seven years, and with Trump in the White House, producing a repeal-and-replace bill should have been relatively low-hanging fruit. But Friday’s second collapse of the effort suggests Ryan can’t

White House reporters launched a hard-hitting attack on Donald Trump Saturday at the annual Correspondents´ Association dinner - which the President pointedly snubbed. The president of the White House Correspondents Association, Jeff Mason, used the get-together at the Washington Hilton to strongly criticize a president who has used his first 100 days of power as an opportunity to attack the media. The absence of President Donald Trump, who has called the media ´fake,´ ´dishonest´ and even ´the enemy of the people,´ marks the first time a president has declined since Ronald Reagan in 1981, who was, at the time, recovering

The president of the White House Correspondents’ Association, Jeff Mason, claimed tonight that the media was not “Fake News.” Mason began by discussing the accomplishments of the media in recent months and their interaction with President Trump, saying, “We have worked very hard to build a constructive relationship with his [President Trump’s] press team. There are clear dividends from those efforts. The press is still in the White House briefing room, and we are still on Air Force One.” Mason continued: In fact, press access under President Trump has been very good. Michelle Obama´s healthy school lunches could be on the chopping block with the Trump administration expected to announce new measures as early as Monday to ease the program´s regulations. The US Department of Agriculture announced on Friday that its secretary Sonny Perdue is set to introduce new standards that will give schools more flexibility in relation to the National School Lunch Program. It is not yet clear how the rules will change school lunches or the regulations. A majority of White House reporters believe President Trump has already established himself as the most openly anti-media president in U.S. history, according to a report from Politico. Published on Mr. Trump’s 100th day in office, the report released Saturday indicates White House journalists overwhelmingly agree the current administration is the worst ever with respect to its interactions with the press. Sixty-eight percent of respondents answered “true” when asked recently if Mr. Trump is the most openly anti-press president in history, Politico reported; about one-third, or 32 percent, responded “false.” What’s more, three-in-four reporters described the president’s frequent attacks against

Hillary Clinton insisted on calling the FBI investigation into the private email system she established to conduct official business as Secretary of State a “security review.” She elaborated: “[T]here are lots of those that are conducted in our government all the time and you don’t hear about most of them.” Well, of course, as with all things Clintonian, the words are terms of art. It depends on the meaning of “security review.” For “security review” read “criminal investigation.” The FBI doesn’t do security reviews. But “criminal investigation” also needs to be understood in a Clintonian sense. When Judicial Watch announced

They’re just an anti-Trump protest by the same people who in January this year were marching around dressed as vaginas, and who in Berkeley the last few weekends have been beating people up wearing facemasks. President Donald Trump has racked up an historic amount of travel expenses in his first 100 days in office, by far surpassing the president who came before him. Mr Trump has made a point of repeatedly visiting his private Mar-a-Lago resort and golf course, which he and his administration have referred to as the “winter White House,” on the weekends. Those Florida trips require a nearly 1,000 mile flight aboard Air Force One south from Washington.
