After suffering decades of liberal bureaucrats re-writing laws without congressional oversight, Republicans had enough and in 1996 passed the Congressional Review Act to override the bureaucracy. This worked only once in 20 years when President Bush 43 signed off on repealing a Clinton era requirement for workplace ergonomics (then the big fad among the latte liberals). Trump already signed off on two -- a Dodd-Frank rule and an EPA coal-mining rule, neither of which help anyone but are costly nevertheless. That´s not all. From the Daily Caller: The Trump administration withdrew 24 economically significant rules –those costing more than $100 million — in his

What 2 Obama Judges Got Wrong in

Two federal judges, both nominated by President Barack Obama, have issued injunctions against President Donald Trump’s revised executive order temporarily restricting travel from six terrorist safe havens in the Middle East and Africa. (Snip) These rulings ignore or misinterpret federal immigration law that gives the president the clear authority to act and prior Supreme Court precedents that support the legality of the president’s actions. Watson issued a nationwide injunction against enforcement of Section 2 and Section 6 of Executive Order 13,780, “Protecting the Nation From Foreign Terrorist Entry Into the United States.” These are the provisions that would have suspended

A full audio file has been provided CLICK HERE (will open in separate window) The interview is almost 30 minutes in duration and takes place aboard the flight. Perhaps you have a gas stove in your kitchen. When you turn it on, do you worry that it might pollute your water? Probably not. But the alleged threat to the water supply from natural gas is a primary argument employed by the radical environmentalists who oppose the construction of gas pipelines in New Jersey. We already have more than 35,000 miles of oil and gas pipelines in the state. Why this sudden rise in protests over a few minor additions to an existing network? Blame a guy by the name of Bill McKibben. He´s an environmental activist who has

The world´s top economic powers have dropped a pledge to oppose trade protectionism amid pressure from the US. The administration of President Donald Trump wants trade to more clearly benefit American companies and workers. Finance ministers from the G20 countries meeting in the German town of Baden-Baden issued a statement that said only that countries "are working to strengthen the contribution of trade" to their economies. Last year´s meeting called on them to resist "all forms" of protectionism, which can include border tariffs and rules that keep out imports to shield domestic companies from competition. The statement from the G20 finance ministers and central

Finance ministers from world´s biggest economies have dropped an anti-protectionist commitment after opposition from the US. G20 ministers left the two-day meeting without renewing their long-standing pledge to bolster free trade. Last year, the group of the world´s 20 largest economies vowed to "resist all forms of protectionism". But since then, President Donald Trump has taken office, and is aggressively pursuing an "America First" policy. (Snio)The communique, which was published at the end of the meeting in Baden-Baden with the agreement of all attending delegates, also failed to include a vow on climate change. Mr Trump has already promised to slash environmental funding.

WASHINGTON — President Donald Trump said Saturday that Germany owes “vast sums of money” to NATO and the U.S. “must be paid more” for providing defense, reiterating his stance that European allies need to meet their end of the bargain if they are to continue benefiting from the military alliance. Trump’s tweet from his Florida resort, where he is spending the weekend, came the day after his first meeting with Germany’s leader. “Despite what you have heard from the FAKE NEWS, I had a GREAT meeting with German Chancellor Angela Merkel,” the president wrote. “Nevertheless, Germany owes ... vast sums of money

BADEN-BADEN, Germany — The Trump administration on Saturday rejected a statement from other leading economies that warned against the perils of trade protectionism, the latest sign of how the administration’s more combative approach to diplomacy could create rifts with U.S. allies and leave traditional partners in the dark about the direction of U.S. policy. Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin, appearing at a gathering of economic ministers and central bankers from the 20 largest economies, rebuffed multiple entreaties from German officials to include in the meeting’s joint statement language stressing the importance of free trade and that it should be conducted in a

By about 3 p.m. Friday, a county morgue in east Ohio was already full — and more bodies were expected. Rick Walters, an investigator for the Stark County coroner´s office, had just left for two death scenes: a suicide and an overdose. From the road, he called the director of the Ohio Emergency Management Agency to ask for help. He needed more space, he explained — specifically, a cold-storage trailer to act as an overflow morgue. As with much of the United States, Ohio is in the throes of a heroin and opioid epidemic that shows no signs of abating.

While the block grants fund only a small portion of Meals on Wheels’ operations nationwide, spokeswoman Jenny Bertolette told CNN that some of the group’s 5,000 local branches rely on the money to bring food to elderly

Why Republicans Cannot Bear Trump’s

The White House on Thursday released what officials variously described as a “skinny budget,” a “hard power budget,” and—most memorably—an “America First” budget that begins “a New Chapter of American Greatness.” (I’m partial to the last one.) As flattering as that sounds, the truth is President Trump’s first budget outline is far from “great.” The $54 billion defense component represents only a 3 percent increase over current spending—not 10 percent as the administration says. Even with the wholesale elimination of programs and double-digit cuts to departments to offset the defense hikes, the plan does remarkably little to reduce the overall $7 trillion

So King has been exercising a Trump-like knack for trolling the Establishment with blunt truths that enrage goodthinkers into revealing just how much their worldview is founded upon hatred of average Americans. Over the weekend, King tweeted: [Geert] Wilders understands that culture and demographics are our destiny. We can’t restore our civilization with somebody else’s babies. Those last three words set off a paroxysm of tut-tutting, with The New York Times declaring King to stand revealed as a “white nationalist.” Chris Hayes of MSNBC lamented:

Hillary Clinton and Huma Abedin were spotted together for the first time in months on Thursday - with the pair stopping by the Bergdorf Goodman salon for a quick cut and color. Expedia just named Chelsea Clinton to its board of directors. In a public filing posted Friday, the travel site said it named Clinton -- the daughter of Hillary Clinton -- as a member of its board on Thursday. Expedia (EXPE) said Clinton will be paid "in accordance with the company´s standard compensation policies" for board members. According to an Expedia proxy statement from August, non-employee directors were paid a $45,000 "annual retainer" and awarded $250,000 worth of stock in 2015. Board members who served on various committees were paid an additional $10,000 to $20,000. But Expedia said in a filing

Bleacher Report’s Friday story on how front-office types still want nothing to do with him for his protests during the national anthem shined another light on it. (Snip) Come on. Stop it. The Trump administration wants to build a 30-foot-high border wall that looks good from the north side and is difficult to climb or cut through, according to a pair of contract notices posted to a government website further detailing President Donald Trump´s promise to build a "big, beautiful wall" at the Mexican border. The notices were made public late Friday by Customs and Border Protection, the Homeland Security Department agency that will oversee the project and eventually patrol and maintain the wall. The proposals are due to the government by March 29.
