Historic Trump presser signals
mortal combat between MSM and president
now a two-way fight

American Thinker, by Thomas Lifson

Yesterday’s utterly compelling news conference by President Trump, held on short notice, signaled an entirely new era in relationships between a president and the major media. For decades, the ability of mainstream media to bully presidents has been part of the accepted landscape. In 2004, then-influential Newsweek journalist Evan Thomas admitted that media bias was “going to be worth maybe 15 points" to the Kerry-Edwards ticket, an estimate he alter scaled back to 5 points -- enough to swing most presidential elections. President Trump does not accept that status quo. He fights back. And he and the media both know

This media war is far from over. I am not surprised. They had much invested and much gained in these liberal administrations. The uni-party includes the media, you know.

But, now, the uni-party is out of jsut one small corner of Washington, - mostly out, anyway. President Trump probably is surprised by how deeply infected Washington is with these insane (there, I even did it- declared our opposition nuts) liberal cum-commies. Everything this nation once stood for is suspect to them. They want it destroyed and yet, like Republican-E´s over Obamacare, don´t have a clue on what to replace it with. A mis-mash as my departed mother would have said. A gobbeldy-guk of chaos, I guess. They want free speech, but only for themselves. They want open borders, but only for their select chosen. They want only half of what it is they want and don´t want the other half of it at all! In essence, they really are nuts and President Trump is now running - mostly - an insane asylum with the nuts all running around like ding-batty kooks.

That´s right, folks. We, The people, and the President and his people are in one helluva mess.

I watched most of the presser, and it was highly entertaining. What was shocking was how it was portrayed on the local news. They described a completely different event from what I watched. Trump was right - he predicted it.

President Trump said it in the Presser: People know that the media is publishing fake news. They understand what the media is doing. They are not fooled, as they may have been years ago.

The media ignores that and continues to make themselves look like fools. They are destroying themselves.

No matter what Trump does the media will never be with him & he knows it. They live in a different world, the same as congress. The presser was so good I bet next time Trump could take it to pay for view or Vagas & make lots of $$$ for the government. That´s one way to pay off the national debt. It did accomplish one thing it forced the non media to see what his campaign rallies felt like!

It certainly was different as President Trump stood there and took all questions for over an hour. Remember with President Obama, he would have pontificated over just about three questions in such a time frame. If President Trump ever hires a good comedy writer to coordinate some answers for him, he will blow the glum DC uniparty completely out of the water.

Mortal Combat indeed. And as such, it won´t end until one or the other is vanquished/eliminated. The enemedia will accelerate their efforts now. Their hatred is palpable. Trump/Sessions/Pompeo should start planting targeted fake revelations in various agencies to smoke out the moles, charge them, and jail them. Also expose the recipients of the leaks, and where possible charge them too.

The good news is that this is indeed a two-way fight now. No more one-way take-it-because-we´re-so-noble Bush type. We now have a bare-knuckle brawler in our corner, and he´s landing knockout punches. Thank God.

Buddy emailed this. I know smart folks:

I loved watching Trump’s press conference yesterday. In the past, the press bullied conservative leaders. Yesterday, Trump was in control – and having a ball – the whole time, bullying the press instead. I also finally figured out why he will be doing a rally in Florida this weekend. It’s because he wants to bring his message directly to the people.

This attack of Republicans began with Richard Nixon. The man did nothing all that worthy of impeachment. However, the media hounded him out of office. And they continued to run things … until now. I love seeing how Trump is handling them. Meanwhile, they are lost. Love it.

President Trump’s firing of FBI director James Comey has been pretty big news, and there will be no dearth of continued commentary about what it means. But what rings hollowest in all the commentary surrounding it have been the nearly uniform claims among the left that his firing represents a “constitutional crisis.” Does the left now care about the United States Constitution? Because that would certainly be newsworthy. This is the same left which, as David Harsanyi of The Federalist reminds us, didn’t utter a peep of disapproval about President Obama’s efforts to “unilaterally legalize millions of people without Congress.” What

Mr. Smartpants may have outsmarted himself. James Comey has painted himself into a corner by indirectly leaking a memorandum to the New York Times (a person who read the memorandum shared excerpts from it to reporter Michael Schmitt), and may even have placed himself in legal jeopardy. Gregg Jarrett of Fox News, a former defense attorney, explains: Under the law, Comey is required to immediately inform the Department of Justice of any attempt to obstruct justice by any person, even the President of the United States. Failure to do so would result in criminal charges against Comey. (18 USC 4 and 28 USC

The cancellation by ABC of Tim Allen’s hit comedy “Last Man Standing” comes on the heels of CBS’ Stephen Colbert’s obscenity-laced rant against Donald Trump and underscores how far the media thought police have gone in their war on conservatives, conservative thought, and even conservative comedy. Allen’s show, in which he plays the manager of a sporting goods chain, features Allen’s biting and genuinely funny witticisms poking fun at all things liberal. Its humor is balanced, with the show featuring a Canadian liberal son-in-law who gets his points across. But it is a rarity among sitcoms, in that any conservative viewpoints
