Fox News anchor Shepard Smith on Thursday criticized President Trump for bashing reporters gathered at a lengthy Thursday press conference, calling on him to answer legitimate questions from news outlets. "(Trump) keeps repeating ridiculous throwaway lines that are not true at all and sort of avoiding this issue of Russia as if we´re some kind of fools for asking the question. Really?" Smith said. "Your opposition was hacked and the Russians were responsible for it and your people were on the phone with Russia on the same day it was happening and we´re fools for asking the questions?" Trump was repeatedly asked
Comments: The hack Shemp has behaved terribly lately, but this took the cake. He was completely unhinged. Of course the dutiful John Bussey from the WSJ was totally in agreement, as well as the guy from Reuters. What a shock. s/o His behavior was outrageous and his extreme criticism of Trump was way over the top. Trump´s refusal to answer questions and divulge information regarding what exactly he would do related to Russia, Iran, etc. was legitimate.
I have stopped watching fox news completely now. they are neither fair nor balanced and if any thing very left of center now. None of Fox´s talking heads has anything nice to say about President Trump and are always twisting what words President Trump has spoken. And when they have their "non partisan panels" almost to a T all but one are very socialistic in their leanings, and they always over talk the more right person.
Contd. He was correct in pointing out that Obama and his ilk told the enemy in advance everything they were going to do. In addition, there has been NO reliable, concrete information given what was in the alleged conversations with representatives in Russia. That is reckless and irresponsible for him to cite such nonconfirmed information that was allegedly in those leaks.
I wish that jerk Shemp would just leave and go to MessNBC or CNN. They would be a much better fit. He really is shameful and his rant was appalling. Or better yet they should fire him. He is supposed to be a ´news´ anchor, not a ranting commentator.
Sorry, Shep, he did give answers. He did not give away his plans to deal with Russia in case of problems. That does not mean he has no plans. Why hasn´t any reporter talked about Hillary´s approval of Russia´s getting our uranium or about her cheating during the debates. He talked about those things but no one picked up on it. They keep asking the same questions over and over about Gen. Flynn after Pres. Trump answered them. The reporters ask questions over and over if they don´t like the answers. I am sooooo tired of the TV news shows. They are sooooo boring. Trump was entertaining.
Is Fox News trying to run all of us to another news source? Where do O´Riley numbers come from? He doesn´t report news any longer, he makes news. The talking heads have become what we call in the real military, heads are for body waste disposal. Smith, Rivera, Williams.. Lucianne offers more news in one segment than Fox News does by repeating the same news until something new drops in front of the network. Hurry back Ailes!
Hussien signed away our sovereignty behind closed doors. Sheep never said hussien owed the American people answers about doing that. Oh and did shep ask hussien what is in the Iran deal. I don´t recall him asking about that. I really believe the American people should know the details in that mess.
Did SS ever tell BO ´You owe the American people answers´? About Bengazi, his birth certificate, his US citizenship (or lack of citizenship), Fast & Furious, Iran deal, Affordable Health Care hoax, open borders, muslim connections, IRS (Lois Lerner) etc.
Maybe "Shemp" is upset because one of his boyfriends was taken to task during the presser. Or maybe he´s trying to maintain credibility with the gay community. It must be hard to work for Fox and try to be accepted by the mainstream LGBTQABCDEFG...XYZ community.
I´m with the others who have stopped watching FOX news. I find Fox Business News to be more informative anyway. Not just for business. I find Maria Bartiromo and Stuart Varney very good to listen too as well as Lou Dobbs and Charles Payne mentioned by #26 above.
I think Shep is the one who owes the American people an explanation. Shep was hired the same way Elizabeth Warren was hired at Harvard. Liz was hired because Harvard needed a woman American Indian. Shep was hired at FOX because they needed more "diversity" to balance out all the playmates in the anchor desk. "Not that there is anything wrong with that".
PS...You are still never going to get a Pulitzer Prize for crying during Hurricane Katrina.
Something very weird happened to 75% of Fox´s staff when Trump ran for president. Their hatred for Trump clouds their brains. No one watches Shep so he has to make statements to get his name in the news, just like McCain & Graham.
The liberal-leaning news site Slate published an obituary Thursday attacking former Fox News contributor Alan Colmes. Colmes passed away on Thursday at the age of 66 after a battle with an illness. (Snip) Fox News honored Colmes with a touching tribute. Slate took a different approach when remembering Colmes. Its obituary was titled, "Alan Colmes, Buffoon and Patsy, Was Fox News´ Original Liberal Weakling." The article attacked Colmes for being the "nice liberal" on Fox News. Colmes was the most absurd, useless, and mocked television personality in America for many years, precisely because he was nice. In the context of
On Thursday, The New York Times launched a new marketing campaign by releasing a TV ad set to air during Sunday’s Academy Awards with the tag line, “The truth is more important than ever,” seemingly taking a jab at President Donald Trump. Given the paper’s blatant liberal bias and willingness to report fake news stories, the notion of the Times being the arbiter of the “truth” is laughable. Organizers at the conference where President Trump spoke Friday confiscated Russian flags with Trump´s name on them that were handed out before his speech. Photos from the Conservative Political Action Conference showed Russian flags with "Trump" in the middle blue stripe being waved by people in the crowd as Trump spoke. The flags were handed out before the speech but were confiscated while the speech took place. Reports from the conference indicated organizers told people with the flags that if they were seen waving them during Trump´s speech they would be kicked out of the conference. One of the activists,
One of former President Barack Obama’s pet projects -- to drag federal bureaucracy into the digital age -- morphed into a rogue operation that disregarded information security policies, used unauthorized software and information systems on government networks, and exposed sensitive information to potential hackers, according to a watchdog report. Many of the most egregious security violations took place long after the Obama administration’s 2014 admission of one of the worst cyber-security losses in history: the theft by China-based intruders of 4.2 million personnel files from its Office of Personnel Management -- a revelation that set off a wide-ranging review of
Zac Petkanas, Democrat National Committee Senior Adviser, appeared on Tucker Carlson’s TV show to explain the DNC position that a persons gender is what they say it is. The argument is fraught with downstream impact, because if a person’s gender is what they say it is at any given moment in time – then there’s immediately no such thing as Sexism or gender driven ERA laws. You cannot be sued for hiring all males, because some of those males can instantaneously be women, and you’re not allowed to ask about their gender when hiring…. because it’s a protected category… see where
A billionaire Democratic megadonor, who is exploring a run for governor, encouraged men to use women´s bathrooms on Wednesday sparking criticism from transgender advocates and politicians. J.B. Pritzker, the billionaire heir whose father co-founded Hyatt hotels, floated the idea of switching bathrooms in the wake of President Donald Trump´s executive order reversing an Obama policy that could have stripped federal funds from schools that maintain separate bathroom facilities based on sex. "As a protest against Trump´s rescinding protections for trans kids, everyone should use the other gender´s bathroom today!" he tweeted at 8:36 a.m. (Snip) The tweet immediately provoked criticism from liberals.
According to an exclusive in Us Weekly, Hillary Clinton was approached about being on Dancing with the Stars‘s 24th season. The Democratic former nominee for president declined the offer, although her shimmy would have undoubtedly won her the popular vote. Top lawyers who helped the Obama White House craft and hold to rules of conduct believe President Donald Trump and his staff will break ethics norms meant to guard against politicization of the government — and they’ve formed a new group to prepare, and fight. (Snip) While other Trump opponents focus on taking the president to court over the travel ban and deportations, the new group plans to drill into issues that aren’t already hitting the headlines, like potential intervention in and intimidation of regulatory agencies by West Wing staff. “When people hear concerns about democracies declining into authoritarianism, they expect
A group of law professors have filed a misconduct complaint against Kellyanne Conway, claiming that she violated the Rules of Professional Conduct for attorneys by giving false statements to the media. (Snip) The complaint states that attorneys holding public office “have a higher obligation to avoid conduct involving dishonest [sic], fraud, deceit, or misrepresentation than other lawyers.” Conway allegedly failed to live up to that obligation when she referred to a “Bowling Green Massacre” as justification for President Trump’s travel ban, even though “Ms. Conway knew there was no massacre.” The complaint also says that Conway made another false statement
Texas Sen. Ted Cruz anticipates another vacancy on the U.S. Supreme Court will arise in a matter of months. “I think we’ll have another Supreme Court vacancy this summer,” Cruz said at the Conservative Political Action Conference Thursday. “If that happens, as much as the left is crazy now, they will go full Armageddon meltdown because the next vacancy is where we’ll have the ability to act and restore basic constitution protections.” Though Cruz was not more specific, as a former law clerk to Chief Justice William Rehnquist, he enjoys access to a network of former clerks privy to the plans of their former bosses.
Michelle Obama was spotted getting in an early afternoon workout at SoulCycle in Washington DC on Thursday. The former first lady was photographed making a quick exit from the spin studio after taking a noon class and heading straight towards the small envoy of Secret Service cars waiting to take her back to the $4.3million home she and husband Barack are living in with daughter Sasha. Michelle seemed eager to go unnoticed during the outing, a goal she successfully achieved thanks in large part to the black hat and dark sunglasses she wore to cover her face, which paired perfectly
Democratic congressman and DNC chair front-runner Keith Ellison once said that “black people don’t live in a democracy” and “don’t have an obligation” to obey the government. Ellison made the comments at a 1992 protest after white police officers were acquitted in the beating of Rodney King. At least 63 people died in the racially charged riots following the verdict. Minnesota newspaper the Star Tribune quotes Ellison as telling a group of protesters in Minneapolis that “Black people do not live under a democracy.” “You don’t have an obligation to obey a government that considers you to be less than
Mika Brzezinski, co-host of MSNBC’s Morning Joe, had an unfortunate turn of phrase the other day. She said it’s the mission of the press to “control exactly what people think.” My suspicion is that this was less a Freudian slip than a simple slip-up. Brzezinski was referring to her fear that President Trump may be trying to control the way people think by discrediting the media — whom he calls “enemies of the American people” — and she lost her rhetorical footing, stumbling into saying that mind control is “our job.” But the misstatement resonated with a lot of people,
An upbeat Hillary Clinton popped back into the political spotlight Friday with a three-minute address to Democrats, applauding them for being the ´resistance´ against President Donald Trump. She urged her party to ´keep fighting and keep the faith,´ while adding, ´I´ll be there right with you every step of the way.´ Clinton´s message was released in conjunction with the Democrats´ meeting in Atlanta, Georgia, where they´ll decide new Democratic National Committee leadership tomorrow. But Clinton´s frequent forays back into the limelight suggest she could still write another political chapter post-2016. She´s called out the new president several times on Twitter, writing simply ´3-0´
A transgender advocate struggled to answer simple questions about the science of gender identity in a discussion about former President Obama’s transgender bathroom decree Thursday on Tucker Carlson Tonight. “Let’s move from the politics to the science,” Carlson said to Zac Petkanas, Democratic National Committee senior advisor, launching into a series of questions about the implications of allowing people to determine their sex. “There’s no biological anchor to sex anymore. It’s all determined by the individual,” he said. “So my obvious question for you is, how do I know if a person’s male or female? Is there some absolute standard people
President Donald Trump has announced that he will not be attending the White House Correspondents´ Dinner this year in a shocking break with tradition. ´I will not be attending the White House Correspondents´ Association dinner this year. Please wish everyone well and have a great evening!´ Trump tweeted on Saturday afternoon. His announcement comes amid growing tensions between his administration and media outlets. Trump attended the dinner in 2011 with his wife Melania where he was repeatedly mocked by then-president Barack Obama. He skipped the dinner in 2016 during the presidential campaign where Obama again took aim at the then-candidate, saying: ´I´m a little
The White House blocked a number of news outlets from covering spokesman Sean Spicer’s question-and-answer session on Friday afternoon. Spicer decided to hold an off-camera “gaggle” with reporters inside his West Wing office instead of the traditional on-camera briefing in the James S. Brady Press Briefing Room. Among the outlets not permitted to cover the gaggle were news organizations President Trump has singled out for criticism, including CNN. The New York Times, The Hill, Politico, BuzzFeed, the Daily Mail, BBC, the Los Angeles Times and the New York Daily News were among the other news organizations not permitted to attend.
WASHINGTON — Democrats have invited immigrants and foreigners to President Donald Trump´s first address to Congress in an effort to put a face on those who could be hurt by the Republican´s policies. Lawmakers typically get one guest ticket apiece for presidential addresses, as they will for Tuesday´s prime-time speech, and the invites often go to family, friends or someone from back home. To send a message to Trump, Democrats have invited the Iraqi-American doctor who discovered elevated levels of lead in the blood of many children living in Flint, Michigan; a Pakistani-born doctor who delivers critical care to patients
Pope Francis continues to argue for two interrelated points that, while seemingly humane, compromise Western nations and expose their citizens to danger. He reiterated his first point earlier this month when he said, “I appeal not to create walls but to build bridges.” Francis has made this appeal frequently, both figuratively (when imploring Western nations not to close their doors against more incoming Muslim migrants), and literally—including by characterizing Donald Trump’s proposal to build a U.S.-Mexico wall as “not Christian.” Francis reiterated his second point a few days ago when he said, “Muslim terrorism does not
In his press conference last week, in which President Trump ranted and raved that he wasn´t ranting and raving, he answered a question about his wife, Melania. "That´s what I call a very nice question," he said, apparently relieved to stop talking about his own policies, before saying the first lady feels very strongly about "women´s issues" and "women´s difficulties." Trump didn´t specify what these "issues" and "difficulties" might be. One presumes that, despite the phrasing, he probably meant things like equal pay and health care, and not what old men usually mean when they cryptically speak about our "difficulties."
On the grassy slope of a fjord near the southernmost tip of Greenland stand the ruins of a church built by Viking settlers more than a century before Columbus sailed to the Americas. The thick granite-block walls remain intact, as do the 20-foot-high gables. The wooden roof, rafters and doors collapsed and rotted away long ago. Now sheep come and go at will, munching wild thyme where devout Norse Christian converts once knelt in prayer. The Vikings called this fjord Hvalsey, which means “Whale Island” in Old Norse. It was here that Sigrid Bjornsdottir wed Thorstein Olafsson on Sunday, September
Tonight is the big night: all across the country, witches will gather to light candles and mutter incantations in hopes of evicting President Trump from the White House: "Men and women from around the world are planning to gather and cast a spell at midnight that will stop President Trump from doing harm while also possibly banishing him from office." (Snip) The idea is that these witchcraft events will continue until Trump is “driven from office.” There is a chant, too. It begins: Hear me, oh spirits / Of Water, Earth, Fire, and Air / Heavenly hosts / Demons of the infernal
Milo Yiannopoulos is neither a free speech martyr nor a conservative. Rather, he is a flamboyant and provocative troll. Ross Douthat accurately describes him this way: [He is] a gay cross-dressing Catholic part-Jewish Brit who likes to boast about his sexual appetite, favors "ironic" racial and misogynist humor, and not occasionally describes the president of the United States as “Daddy.” Daily Beast media columnist Lloyd Grove views him as: ... [an] embattled Donald Trump groupie and alt-right provocateur -- who usually baits African Americans, Jews, women, transgender people, and his fellow gay men at his various speaking engagements in a merry tone of
(Video) - Could France elect Barack Obama president? Not really -- but that´s not stopping the organizers of Obama17, a guerrilla campaign trying to entice the former U.S. president to head to Paris. "It´s totally crazy, but the cool thing is that once you get past that, you start thinking that maybe it´s possible. Who cares that he´s not French? He´s Barack Obama," one of the campaign organizers told CNN. They´ve launched a website and they put up 500 posters of Obama around Paris last weekend, said the organizer. He asked to be identified only as Antoine. They're hoping to get 1 million people to sign a petition urging Obama to
