Immigrants across the country are staying home from school, skipping work and putting off shopping trips today to show how vital they are to the US economy and way of life. ´A Day Without Immigrants´ protests are planned in major cities including Philadelphia, Washington, Boston, Houston, Chicago and New York. The movement gained momentum on social media and by word of mouth. It comes in response to President Donald Trump, whose administration has pledged to increase the deportation of immigrants living in the country illegally. Trump campaigned on building a wall along the US-Mexico border, and blamed high unemployment on
Why not a Day without Americans? Our soldiers in Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria, the Baltic states, Poland, South Korea and other places most Americans can´t find on a map would stand down for 24 hours after formal announcements that "You, your family and your country are on your own. Defend it! At least for a day."
I go to the post office several times a week for my business and about 95% of the time the person behind the counter is a HIspanic woman. She wasn´t there today. I wonder if the Feds are allowing their immigrant employees to stay home. If so, this is one more thing that President Trump needs to clean up.
Just got back from Aldi. I noticed traffic was pretty light. The store was not very busy. Got to the checkout & a 60ish white woman was commenting to the cashier how quiet it was, how everyone was out marching, and everyone should be doing so. The checker said the tortilla delivery man wasn´t delivering today. I so wanted to confront the customer, but better judgement prevailed. Actually, it was quite pleasant shopping today...a day without ILLEGAL immigrants.
As usual MSM is trying to confuse illegal and legal immigration. We L-Dotters are basically OK with legal. We all are descended from immigrants. Yes this includes the "native Americans" (no such critter in my book - they came from somewhere else as well). It´s the ILLEGAL that sticks. Shouldn´t be here, got no legal right to be here, should be sent back ASAP.
Lol, notice the cities. All democratic strong holds where the zombie populations are the highest. Cities where these idiots could care less about disrupting people´s lives and causing traffic jams. These are the bottom feeders of Obama´s army of protesters. Think about it, nobody ever said that foreign-born workers weren´t vital. Its fake news again, its democrats taking advantage of the low information voter base. Got it.
President Trump gave Pope Francis a first-edition set of Martin Luther King Jr.´s writings on Wednesday during their meeting at the Vatican, and the pope gave Trump books he usually gives out as gifts to heads of state. According to the White House, Trump gave the pope MLK´s "Stride Toward Freedom" (1958), "The Measure of a Man" (1959), "The Strength to Love" (1963), "Why We Can´t Wait" (1964) and "Where Do We Go from Here: Chaos or Community?" (1967). "This is a gift for you," the president said. "These are books from Martin Luther King. I think you will enjoy
The political Left struggled on Tuesday to find terminology sufficiently jarring to express their rage and disdain for President Trump´s just-released budget. That´s the price we pay for living in an age of political hyperbole. Liberal journalists, activists and politicians denoucned the president´s proposed cuts as "brutal!" "huge!" "shocking!" and "gutting the public sector!" House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi inventively suggested Trump was "assaulting the food we eat," which, conjuring up a mental image of the Cookie Monster, is a new way of looking at the 45th president. What´s actually remarkable about Trump´s budget is that its cuts are modest
Did anyone realize the onslaught that a Democratic loss would bring? Did anyone predict just how juvenile and inane the Democratic base would be? Did anyone understand the petulance and nastiness Democratic officials would display? Did anyone predict how hyperbolic and crazy the leftist media would become? It is disconcerting how many have become so unhinged over the past years. Even so, it’s not possible to have guessed just how extreme and hyperbolic the left would become. Championing “resistance” as if they were in a revolutionary cadre in a South American country was not expected. Acting like whining toddlers en
CIA Director Mike Pompeo made a blunt declaration Tuesday: "We are back in the business of stealing secrets.” The remark from Pompeo, made to a small group of reporters on Tuesday, was a tacit jab at his predecessor. Former agency director John Brennan turned heads in March of last year when he told National Public Radio that the U.S. doesn’t “steal secrets.” “We uncover. We discover. We reveal. We obtain. We elicit. We solicit -- all of that,” Brennan said at the time. Pompeo´s apparent swipe at Brennan came on the same day that his predecessor testified to a Senate committee
Troops are to be deployed onto Britain´s streets amid fears a further terror attack ´may be imminent´, the Prime Minister has announced. Theresa May revealed the move this evening, less than 24 hours after the bomb attack at a teen concert in Manchester, which left 22 dead and 59 injured. The Prime Minister confirmed the identity of the Manchester suicide bomber as 22-year-old Salman Abedi, a Mancunian of Libyan descent. But intelligence agencies fear he may not have acted alone - leaving open the possibility of an active Islamist terror cell on the loose. Britain´s Joint Terrorism Analysis Centre last
President Trump has selected Marc Kasowitz to serve as his private, outside attorney during the federal and congressional investigations into any possible collusion between his campaign and the Russian government, according to multiple reports Tuesday evening. Kasowitz is a New York trial lawyer who has previously represented Trump. On Monday, the White House was said to be nearly finished with its search for outside lawyers to work with the Trump administration. The White House had been expected to select a team of outside attorneys, not just one person. Among the final choices for the position were Kasowitz, Robert J. Giuffra
Sean Hannity announced tonight on his Fox News show that he will no longer discuss the July, 2016 murder of DNC staffer Seth Rich — for now, anyway. “I totally completely understand how upset… how hard this is on this family, especially over the recent coverage of Seth’s death,” Hannity said, adding that he had reached out personally to the Rich family to offer his condolences. “Out of respect for the family’s wishes, I am not discussing this matter at this time,” Hannity said. You can see Hannity’s comments in the video above. Hannity’s announcement came after he received considerable
TGP reported earlier that former CIA Director, John Brennan testified before the House today about the 2016 election interference. When Dem. Rep. Adam Schiff asked Brennan if Trump or his aides pressured the Intelligence Community to drop the Flynn investigation, he said a clear and concise, ‘No, sir”. (Photo) Then, Trey Gowdy asked Brennan specifically, “Did you have evidence of a connection between the Trump campaign and Russian state actors?” Brennan responded saying, “As I said, Mr. Gowdy, I don’t do evidence.” Brennan insisted that the Russians did interfere with the 2016 election, however; he says it’s something that the
Rep. Trey Gowdy (R., S.C.) could become chairman of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee following the June 30th departure of the current chairman, Rep. Jason Chaffetz (R., Utah). Gowdy, who led the two year House Benghazi probe, has "near unanimous" support from the 36-member House Republican Steering Committee that determines chairmanships, the Washington Post reported Tuesday. Gowdy has declined to comment on his interest, and a Gowdy spokeswoman told the Post that the congressman "is continuing to speak with members in the conference about the qualities they believe are most important for the next Chairman to possess." Several
Office of Management and Budget director Mick Mulvaney delivered a tough message on Tuesday as he explained the cornerstone of the Trump administration’s budget blueprint for fiscal year 2018; ween capable, low income Americans off of welfare programs and put them back to work. “We’re no longer going to measure compassion by the amount of money we spend, but by the number of people we help. That is how you can get 3 percent economic growth … Everything that we do in this administration, every single time I’m called into the Oval Office … the focus is sustained 3 percent
Two explosions went off tonight at Manchester Arena where popstar, Ariana Grande was performing killing over 20 people and injuring over 50. While the majority of us are in shock and sending out prayers to the victims families, vile CBS reporter, David Leavitt is making jokes about it. (Tweet) Leavitt also joked that he thought Ariana Grande was ‘something you order at Starbucks’. Innocent people were killed and injured at this concert including children and he thinks this is appropriate? This is liberalism, folks. Zero decency. Zero compassion. There is nothing remotely funny about this. A terrorist attack that takes
House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D., Calif.) appeared to confuse the National Rifle Association with the National Security Agency during remarks Tuesday at the Peter G. Peterson Foundation´s 2017 Fiscal Summit. While being interviewed by CNN´s Dana Bash, Pelosi discussed the ongoing investigation into whether there was collusion between Donald Trump´s campaign and the Russians, and whether he may have obstructed justice, according to NTK Network. "To have a president say, if he did, to the director of the FBI, or the DNI, the Director of National Intelligence, or the NRA person that—um, uh, that they should not go forward, it
Climate change” and “child marriage” are “interconnected” issues, said Chelsea Clinton on Monday. Participating in a left-wing discussion panel framed as a meeting for “social justice,” she was introduced as an “activist, thought leader, and change agent.” Using "climate change" as a euphemism for the narrative of anthropogenic global warming, Clinton framed the burning of fossil fuels as exacerbating other perceived social and political issues (emphasis added): “[We] carry multiple concerns in both our head and our heart. Just listening to the concerns around education and climate change, women’s health, child marriage, access to technology, all of those are of
Michelle Obama has been enjoying her Italian vacation in style—and got a welcome fit for a star as she and her husband visited the city of Siena, Tuscany today. The former First Lady looked especially glamorous as she stepped out in a flirty shoulder-baring top, paired with a high-waisted khaki-colored pants. Her husband, who previously went out for a scenic bike ride in the countryside, had ditched his sporty outfit for a polished shirt and pants. A massive crowd cheered after spotting the former presidential couple, with some fans yelling: ´President Obama!´ Scroll down for video The pair, who arrived in Italy Friday
Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) blasted President Trump´s budget on Tuesday, calling the overall proposal "dead on arrival." “President Trump’s $603 billion defense budget request is inadequate to the challenges we face, illegal under current law, and part of an overall budget proposal that is dead on arrival in Congress," McCain, a frequent critic of the president, said in a statement. The Trump administration on Tuesday unveiled a budget that would shift $54 billion from nondefense to defense spending for fiscal year 2018. That´s roughly $19 billion more than former President Barack Obama´s last plan. McCain added that Trump´s budget proposal
Fox News staffers are growing increasingly dismayed as network star Sean Hannity and others continue to promote the unfounded conspiracy theory that Seth Rich, a Democratic National Committee staffer was murdered last year for talking to WikiLeaks. The Daily Beast spoke to nearly a dozen reporters, pundits, and hosts inside Fox News who all conveyed the same sentiment: Hannity is “embarrassing” the network, and the promotion of the Rich conspiracy theory is senselessly cruel to a grieving family. “ARE WE STILL AIRING THAT SH*T?!” one Fox News political reporter, who says they are furious that the conservative cable-news giant is
Following the death of former Fox News Chairman Roger Ailes last week, tributes were offered in print and on air both from likely, and perhaps unlikely, sources. But in the opening paragraph of a New York Times op-ed out Monday, Monica Lewinsky said that she did not plan to have her piece serve as another Ailes obituary. “It is, I hope, instead an obituary for the culture he purveyed — a culture that affected me profoundly and personally,” Lewinsky wrote. Calling it a “culture of exploitation,” Lewinsky blasted the environment at Fox News and other cable news outlets — where
Former late-night television host David Letterman eviscerated President Trump in a rare interview, calling the president a “goon” who lacks any core principles. The 70-year-old comedian told GQ magazine in its upcoming June issue that while he has “no reason” to regret hosting Mr. Trump multiple times on “Late Night,” he is very “disappointed” that his former guest is now representing the country. “It makes me sick,” Mr. Letterman said. “But we always looked forward to having him on. He was a great guest. He was just a big, wealthy dope who’d come on and we would make fun of
A University of Hawaii assistant math professor who holds a PhD degree in mathematics from Princeton University has a new racist equation she wants to promote: white + man + job = her order for white males to quit or be demoted. Piper Harron wrote on a blog for the American Mathematical Society (AMS), titling her piece, “Get Out The Way.” Harron began with her demand: Not to alarm you, but I probably want you to quit your job, or at least take a demotion. Statistically speaking, you are probably taking up room that should go to someone else.
UPDATED: June 14, 2016: The Washington Post reports "Russian government hackers penetrated the computer network of the Democratic National Committee." On what did the paper base this claim? The Post cites "committee officials and security experts who responded to the breach." These "security experts" are with CrowdStrike, a private cyber security firm hired and paid by the DNC. While reading the following chronology, it is important to bear in mind that the FBI has never examined the DNC computer network because the DNC prohibited the FBI from doing so. Also, that the FBI, under former Director Comey, not to mention President Obama and
Fox News dolt, Juan Williams praised the people in government who are leaking to the media in order to damage the Trump administration. He also told the leakers to call him because leakers are ‘good for democracy’. (Snip) Juan Williams: “Just give me a moment here to say if you have a leak please call me at FOX News. I’m all for leakers. I think leakers are good to contribute to democracy. I don’t think trying to undermine government but I don’t think we condemned Obama for going harshly against people who were disclosing information acting as if they were
The brother of slain Democratic National Committee staffer Seth Rich wrote a letter on Tuesday to the executive producer of Sean Hannity´s Fox News show pleading with him to find "decency and kindness" in his heart and stop spreading an unproven conspiracy theory about the unsolved murder. "Think about how you would feel losing a son or brother. And while dealing with this, you had baseless accusations of your lost family member being part of a vast conspiracy," Aaron Rich wrote in the letter to "Hannity" executive producer Porter Berry, a copy of which was provided to CNN. "As the family, we
Former FBI Director James Comey´s father says his son was fired because President Trump was "scared to death of him," according to CNN. J. Brien Comey spoke to CNN by phone on Saturday about his son´s dismissal as the nation´s top law enforcement officer. "[Comey] didn´t give him 100 percent loyalty, and he demands that of people who work with him," he said, according to CNN. "[Comey] said he would give 100 percent honesty, but not loyalty." "Why he was fired, I think, is Trump changes every day," he added. "He had three reasons three days in a row." Comey´s
CNN’s Fareed Zakaria on Monday praised President Trump´s weekend speech in Saudi Arabia, saying former President Obama could have given it. “It was nuanced. It was frankly the kind of speech that President Obama could have given. It had the kind of empathy and nuance that people look for," Zakaria said Monday on CNN, praising "both the symbolism and ... the substance." “Because ultimately what you’re trying to do is convince these Muslim countries to in some way take on, battle, expel as President Trump said, the scourge of Islamic terrorism.” Zakaria added that Trump’s remarks pleased Arab leaders by sounding “more
