Marco Rubio goes after Trump’s
pick for secretary of state. Hard.

Going into Wednesday´s hearing for President-elect Donald Trump´s secretary of state nominee, Rex Tillerson, all eyes were on Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.), who could choose whether to give deference to Trump´s pick — or try to tear him apart. In the opening hour of the two-day hearing, Rubio went on the attack. [Notably, Senate Foreign Relations Committee Chairman Bob Corker (R-Tenn.) let him go on that attack before many other senators had a chance to speak, and before Trump´s news conference was going to suck up all the political oxygen.] No matter when it happened, Rubio´s bull-dog approach could spell

Comments:
Rubio thinks that yelling louder at Russia will make them friendlier or more obedient or something. And yelling and finger pointing projects strength. The whole Bush-Neocon thing, barf. He made a complete fool of himself today. Lost my respect.

The thing to remember about some of these twerps like Rubio is they´re typically passive-aggressive. They´re too cowardly to take on their opponents directly, but they silently carry their grudge and find the time and circumstances when they can damage that opponent by attacking someone or something of value to them. This is despicable and Rubio is pretty much writing off any chance for his future options as a leader. The voters will remember.

Rubio appears to be a student of the McCain/Graham school of political backstabbing. He could have carved out a position of power and renewed his reputation but regretfully decided to revert to his primary adversarial self. He can´t quite seem to decide which persona to embrace. Pity. He has great political potential but zero discernment.

Sadly, I did vote for Rubio, twice. I will be calling his office today to express my outrage at the way he treated Mr. Tillerson. It made Rubio look small and nasty. Tillerson is extremely qualified, that much was clear yesterday at his hearing. Rubio should remember that FLORIDA voted for Trump and those voters will have no problem voting Rubio out next time around if he should join the Bobsey Twins and vote against Tillerson! That includes me!

Listened to the entire hearing on C-Span Radio. Rubio was second in order. My jaw dropped at the incompetent aggressiveness of his questions. I was also struck by how many Senators, including Rubio, asked the nominee what his reaction is to various newspaper articles. Given the media´s record, I found that laughable.

I too voted for Rubio twice... for Florida, but not for President. I voted for Trump for President. And I do think that Tillerson is a horrible choice for Sec of State. Bolton was the Ace pick for the job, hands down. But GWBush and Bob Corker and Gates and the elite establishment are behind the push for this guy to be SoS.

Tillerson wants Planned parenthood funded by tax payers. He was ´all in´ for Gay Scout Masters for the Boy Scouts. And he is on the same page as Algore inre to Global Warming. He agrees with the Paris Accords and would like to see a global carbon tax enacted. I suppose that if you have liberal tendencies you´ll be waving the pom-poms for this guy.

But I think Rubio is going a bit too far. I cannot understand what is motivating this much vitriol from him. With all these attacks by the left from the sewers, we need to back Trump now.

#8 Lou Dobbs described them to the teeth last night: Head Clown Schumer and the Three Amigos - McPain, Miss Lindsey and Little Marco. We know how McCain and Graham will act. Rubio is trying to have his moment in the sun and climb the ladder again, but this time, we all know who he really is. He is toast.

I moved from Florida just before election day so I didn´t HAVE to vote for Little Marco again, thankfully. If I was there, I would have been wearing a clothespin on my nose to the voting booth. I so hoped John Bolton would have had a spot in the new administration. Nikki Haley??

It´s Rubio´s revenge for Trump referring to him as "Little Marco" and knocking him out of the box during the presidential campaign. It has to be personal, as he could not do that politically, as the State of Florida voted for Trump, and by extension now opposing Tillerson, Rubio is going against the wishes of the majority of Florida voters.

Thursday´s New York Times has a report on how the highly suspicious dossier alleging that Donald Trump was compromised by Russian intelligence agents came into existence. Among the other interesting revelations was that the dubious opposition research report was put together by the research firm Fusion GPS: The story began in September 2015, when a wealthy Republican donor who strongly opposed Mr. Trump put up the money to hire a Washington research firm run by former journalists, Fusion GPS, to compile a dossier about the real estate magnate´s past scandals and weaknesses, according to a person familiar with the effort. From the moment Donald Trump picked Senator Jeff Sessions to be the next attorney general, it was clear what Democrats would need to defeat the Sessions nomination: a surprise witness. It was such a witness whose testimony led to the Senate´s rejection of Sessions for a federal judgeship in 1986. Back then, a reluctant Justice Department lawyer, Gerald Hebert, was drawn into testifying against Sessions by the staff of then-Judiciary committee chairman Joe Biden. At a confirmation hearing, he said Sessions had made racially tainted remarks when they worked together on civil rights cases in Alabama in the early 1980s. Hebert´s testimony

Venezuela is no longer a country with a government, institutions and a civil society. It’s a geographic area terrorized by a criminal enterprise that pretends to govern, with a civil society made up of two sets of people: accomplices and victims. More than 30 million of the latter. The Hugo Chavez-led looting spree began in 2000. By “looting,” I mean fraudulent government contracts, a celebration of bribery, phantom payrolls across all government ministries, bogus government-grant programs, the sacking of Venezuela’s gold reserves and a massive currency-exchange scam. More than $1 trillion has disappeared — some of it wasted on social programs that produced

Senator John McCain passed documents to the FBI director, James Comey, last month alleging secret contacts between the Trump campaign and Moscow and that Russian intelligence had personally compromising material on the president-elect himself. The material, which has been seen by the Guardian, is a series of reports on Trump’s relationship with Moscow. They were drawn up by a former western counter-intelligence official, now working as a private consultant. BuzzFeed on Tuesday published the documents, which it said were “unverified and potentially unverifiable”.
