BuzzFeed Could Be In Legal Trouble
For Publishing Trump Doc

Daily Caller, by Kevin Daley

While BuzzFeed weathers criticism for publishing a document cache containing unsubstantiated and scandalous allegations about President-elect Donald Trump and his confidantes, they also could face legal consequences. The organization elected to publish a 35-page dossier claiming Russian operatives had compromising personal and financial information about the president-elect and others in his orbit. The documents were compiled by a former British intelligence officer working for a private intelligence firm in London at the behest of Trump’s political opponents. They were later shared with Democratic political operatives and members of Congress. If the salacious allegations in the document cache prove false, an

Forgive me if this has been discussed elsewhere, but NBC in November 2016 doubled down on it´s initial investment of $200 million in Buzzfeed - for purely noble purposes, I´m sure.

House Speaker Paul D. Ryan said Thursday that lawmakers plan to advance legislation both to repeal and to replace Obamacare at the same time, a day after President-elect Donald Trump said repealing and replacing the law would be done “essentially simultaneously.” “What … the president-elect said yesterday is what we’ve been saying all along is we’re advancing these things at the same time,” Mr. Ryan, Wisconsin Republican, told radio host Mike Gallagher. “We’re advancing the legislation to repeal and replace Obamacare at the same time, and it will take time to put all of that into place, all those moving

The United States taxpayer must stop paying into the United Nations until it reverses its vote condemning Israel´s occupation of the West Bank and East Jerusalem, two top senators said Thursday. Sens. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., and Ted Cruz, R-Texas, appeared together on MSNBC about a new bill introduced Thursday that would block taxpayer dollars from going toward the U.N. Graham said the resolution passed last month, which the United States abstained from, was a step too far in attacking Israel and it must be undone. Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani announced on "Fox and Friends" Thursday that he will be heading up a new cyber security committee for President-elect Donald Trump. The committee is set to meet with Trump on a regular basis to bring together leaders of the private sector to share their thoughts on the best cyber security methods. "It´s his belief, which I share, that a lot of the solutions are out there. We´re just not sharing them. ... My belief is, as always, that the answer to cyber security is gonna be found in the private sector," Giuliani said.

Cabinet hearings’ only ‘surprise’

Confirmation hearings for President-elect Trump’s Cabinet picks are now under way and — despite some Democratic posturing — the nominees are acquitting themselves well. The most blatant pandering came from New Jersey Sen. Cory Booker, who essentially launched his 2020 presidential campaign with a broadside against Attorney General-designate Jeff Sessions. It was the first time a senator has ever testified against a sitting colleague at a confirmation hearing, but Booker sanctimoniously claimed he had to defer to his “conscience and country.” (As if Republicans don’t care about either.) Then again, the Cory Booker who accused Sessions of “hostility” to civil

Bernstein weighed in on the latest chapter in this relationship involving an unsubstantiated dossier being reported by BuzzFeed and CNN and suggested it was reporting “the best obtainable version of the truth.” However, he also mentioned Trump aide Kellyanne Conway, who was a guest on the show earlier and described her to be a “propaganda minister” because she has acted as an anonymous source in her dealings with the press. “Let’s talk about what reporting is,”

Senator John McCain passed documents to the FBI director, James Comey, last month alleging secret contacts between the Trump campaign and Moscow and that Russian intelligence had personally compromising material on the president-elect himself. The material, which has been seen by the Guardian, is a series of reports on Trump’s relationship with Moscow. They were drawn up by a former western counter-intelligence official, now working as a private consultant. BuzzFeed on Tuesday published the documents, which it said were “unverified and potentially unverifiable”.

While we learned earlier that John McCain was responsible for handing over the 35-page "dossier" of compromising, if arguably fake, revelations about Trump´s connections to Russia over to the FBI, the identity of the actual creator, who was said to be an ex-British intelligence service, remained a mystery. No longer. Courtesy of the WSJ, we now know his name: the former MI-6 officer, now working for a private security-and-investigations firm "who produced the dossier of unverified allegations about President-elect Donald Trump’s activities and connections in Russia" is Christopher Steele, a director of London-based Orbis Business Intelligence.... and before readers google

President Obama, as he concluded his farewell address in Chicago on Tuesday, called the U.S. Constitution “just a piece of parchment." “Our Constitution is a remarkable, beautiful gift,” said Obama. “But it’s really just a piece of parchment.” “It has no power on its own,” he went on. “We the people give it power. We the people give it meaning with our participation and with the choices that we make and the alliances that we forge…” He later said that as he steps down from the presidency, he plans to play an active role in "the most important office in a democracy: citizen."

Hillary Clinton’s political career is probably over, but just because she lost the presidential election to Donald Trump doesn’t mean she wasn’t prepared to win. Axios reporter Mike Allen has revealed Hillary’s list of prospective nominees for important cabinet posts in her administration, and it includes a number of interesting choices. John Podesta, her campaign chairman who accidentally exposed his entire email account to Russian hackers, was listed as the frontrunner to be Hillary Clinton’s secretary of state. Vice President Joe Biden was reportedly also being considered for the position. Facebook executive and Lean In author Sheryl Sandberg was in
