Wednesday on CNN addressing media reports that he had turned over a dossier containing unverified claims about Russia and President-elect Donald Trump, Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) said, “I don’t know if it’s credible or not but I thought the information deserved to be delivered to the FBI, the appropriate agency of government.” Partial transcript as follows: MCCAIN: After looking at that information I took it to the FBI and have had no further involvement with it at issue. By the way, according to some media reports they already had that information, but I didn’t know that at the time. I

Mr. McCain, why didn´t you call Trump and ask him? Mr. Trump is the leader of your party, yet when you get a salacious accusation against him, you, Mr. McCain go running to the FBI, and don´t even have the courtesy of giving your party leader an opportunity to advise you that it is not true. That is the difficulty I have with you, Mr. McCain. You say you are friends, but it seems from everything I have seen that is only your way of getting behind so you can stab them in the back.

Yeah, you get a story that several years ago a private citizen watched a nasty performance in a foreign country and you need to secretly notify the FBI. Senility setting in if this is the best he can come up with.

If the Clintons´ mudslinging machine is a Ford, then McCain has been operating his own Chevy-powered mudslinger for as long as the Clintons.

McCain´s model has a spatter shield so Mr Straight Talk Express doesn´t get his suits dirty and he can do his 25 TV appearances per day without interruption (has McCain actually been to the Senate chamber to represent AZ or is he stationed permanently in the Capitol rotunda and the TV studios?).

McCain lets the muck fly often while claiming to be appalled at all the mess.

But like the Clintons, McCain is finding that the 2010s are very different to the 1990s and that his tired tactics don´t work anymore. In fact, the smears and narratives he attempts to push are being debunked rapidly - in most cases within a 24 hr window. We are on to his game and so is Trump.

McCain had better wind his neck in.

He thought he caught Trump in something that would be the last straw, something that would take Trump down. Unfortunately for McCain, it backfired and he´s the one that just opened that curtain for the World to see the REAL McCain. The one who could hardly wait to hand this garbage over to the FBI in hopes it would smear Trump. I can´t wait to see how his Snotty little daughter spins this on FOX tomorrow! I can´t stand either of them anymore!

McCain is an absolute disgrace, and he is disgracing the people of Arizona. He needs to be recalled, which requires a statewide effort and a lot of signatures, but it would be worthwhile. The Republican Party should disown him and ask him to resign his office. Also, he should be censured. War hero aside, he is no longer serving with honor.

What an arrogant and filthy liar he is now. Even Hillary knew this was not a usable report.
There must be something really bad from the past 8 years that could land McCain in the legal soup.

I am guessing he helped Obama arm terrorists in Syria. The same kind of terrorists who have no problems with doing something horrifying on American soil.

I suspect that Trump either knows or will know shortly after taking office. McCain is desperate to avoid that.

Just look at his face. he is white as a sheet, muscles taut, eyes jittery. He in deep trouble and he knows it. Even if he stays as Arizona´s Senator, he will be avoided like the plaque. He just might have committed a felony.

He knows now, for certain, the President, who does not suffer fools or enemies, will be gunning for him big time. McCain is dirty enough to know Trump will eventually get something good on him and will bring him before the mast. McCain´s days are finished.

That alone delights me.

He is walking proof of the theory that torture causes lasting, permanent incurable brain damage.

Just to be a nit-picker, but I thought the FBI was for domestic problems, and the CIA was for anything with international implications. Was that report not generated by a British "former spy" with information purported to be from Russia...why didn´t the dossier go to the CIA?

New York is poised to become the first state in the nation to provide free tuition to public colleges and universities, after a deal struck as part of larger budget negotiations announced Friday night. New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo, who announced the proposal in January alongside former Democratic presidential candidate Sen Bernie Sanders, hailed the deal as an historic opportunity for hundreds of thousands of families in the Empire State. Under terms of the deal, the program would be phased in over three years. This year, students whose families earn less than $100,000 per year would be eligible for free

In her first interview since November about November, here´s how Hillary Clinton diagnosed her loss to Donald Trump: “Certainly, misogyny played a role. I mean, that just has to be admitted. And why and what the underlying reasons were is what I´m trying to parse out myself.” Clinton was speaking Thursday night to the New York Times´ Nicholas Kristof at the Women in the World Summit in New York. We´ll probably never know whether voters´ prejudice against a female potential president contributed to Clinton´s loss — or if it did, to what degree. But we do know that research has

Hillary Clinton is writing a book on her loss to Donald Trump that she says will "spend a lot of time" wrestling with the role misogyny played in the election. If her recent public statements are any indication, the secretary´s treatise is bound to wallow in the tired and indulgent cliches of contemporary feminism, spouting broad sociological observations about our allegedly repressive society with less discipline than a broken sprinkler. With so many good options from which to choose - corruption, policy positions, trustworthiness — that Clinton has elected to explore alleged misogyny at such length is an indication she´s spent more

MEXICO CITY — The United States invasion of Mexico in 1846 inflicted a painful wound that, in the 170 years that followed, turned into a scar. Donald Trump has torn it open again. Among the many lies that he has constructed, none is more ridiculous than his attempt to contradict history by presenting the United States as a victim of Mexico, a country that supposedly steals jobs, imposes onerous treaties and sends its “bad hombres” across the border. To confront this fake history, some Mexicans are proposing to remind Mr. Trump exactly what country was the first victim of American imperialism. They

The California Senate Democrats has approved a multi-billion-dollar increase in the state’s gas tax to pay for road and infrastructure projects. The so-called Road Repair and Accountability Act would ratchet up the state’s gas tax by 12 cents a gallon, and raise the tax on diesel fuel by 20 cents a gallon. It also etches out an additional charge to annual vehicle license fees ranging from $25 to $175 depending on the car’s value. (Snip) Brown poked fun at the Republicans for holding what he believes are backward positions concerning gas taxes – they argue an increase in the gas tax is not

A history professor at California State University, Fresno, appears to have advocated for the death of President Donald Trump on Twitter. Tweets from an account purportedly operated by Professor Lars Maischak call for Trump to “hang” in order to “save American democracy,” and say the only “cure” for racist people is a bullet to their head. The account is not verified, although the bio and interactions between the user and other Twitter users indicate it belongs to the professor. “To save American democracy, Trump must hang,” Professor Lars Maischak appears to have tweeted in February. “The sooner and the higher,

National Security Adviser H.R. McMaster delivered remarks in Florida today to give some background on the strikes against Syria Thursday. He made one curious comment that raises a lot of troubling questions: And the one thing that I will tell you though, there was an effort to minimize—to minimize risk to third-country nationals at that airport—I think you read Russians from that—but that—and we took great pains to try to avoid that. Of course, in any kind of military operation, there are no guarantees. And then there were also measures put in place to avoid hitting what we believe is

President Trump believes that he will have the opportunity to pack the Supreme Court with five judges, making him only the seventh president to appoint a majority and potentially cementing his legacy and that of the conservative court well past 2055. Buoyed by the Senate´s expected confirmation today of Neil Gorsuch to replace the late Antonin Scalia, Trump has told associates that he fully expects to name four more justices. "He expects to name five to the court," said one of those associates. It´s not a radical idea. A new report on the court reveals that the average age of

He says the whistleblower is “seth” (Photo) This may explain why the DNC did not allow the FBI to look at its servers.

Ever since his forced resignation in disgrace, Dan Rather has continued on a downward spiral. His career, such as it is, has been kept alive by appearances on the Rachel Maddow show on MSNBC, where he takes potshots at his former employer and President Donald Trump. It is a sad spectacle. Rather has now suffered another major embarrassment. The former anchorman of the CBS Evening News has been accused by a website devoted to exposing military corruption of falsely claiming to have been a member of the U.S. Marine Corps. The editor-in-chief of the website www.MilitaryCorruption.com, retired U.S. Army Major Glenn MacDonald,

President Trump did more than retaliate for Bashar al-Assad’s illegal and inhumane use of nerve agents against civilians when he ordered the launch of 59 Tomahawk missiles to destroy al-Shayrat airbase in Syria. He also detonated a few shibboleths of his predecessor’s foreign policy. First is the idea that President Obama’s 2013 deal to remove Assad’s weapons of mass destruction was a success. Susan Rice and John Kerry have lauded the agreement with Russia to supervise the extraction and destruction of Assad’s weapons stockpiles as recently as the last year. But Assad’s brazen attack on civilians in Idlib Province exposed

The establishment press, even as it works to censor known but inconvenient facts and shout down or constantly interrupt guests who attempt to present them, continually lectures new media, particularly center-right media, about the need for evidence before reporting or even discussing anything in print or on the air. There´s hardly a better illustration of what a hypocritical stance this is than Lawrence O´Donnell´s wild theory, recklessly speculated on Rachel Maddow´s MSNBC show on Friday, that Vladimir Putin "might have orchestrated what happened in Syria this week" to benefit "his friend in the White House," Donald Trump. The morning crew
