BuzzFeed CEO Jonah Peretti on Wednesday defended his news organization´s decision to publish a document with uncorroborated allegations about President-elect Donald Trump and Russia. (Snip) “We stand with [editor in chief] Ben [Smith’s] decision to publish this newsworthy document, which was reported on by multiple news outlets and seen by high level government officials including the president and president-elect,” Peretti said Wednesday in a note to staff, according to Business Insider. He said Buzzfeed would not respond to Trump´s criticism. At a press conference, Trump called Buzzfeed "a failing pile of garbage." He said Buzzfeed would not respond to Trump´s

Comments:
This pathetic fool tries to defend the indefensible. What is really interesting is mentioned on FNC is that NBC has invested $400 million in Buzzfeed. Link below. Now that is a stunner. I didn´t even know that they were associated with NBC. It probably didn´t make them happy that Mika and Tom Brokaw were trashing them. It´s funny that they are going to sell t-shirts with the garbage reference on it. I bet they don´t sell as well as ´we are the deplorables´ shirts! Maybe Megyn Kelly can work for them.

Buzzard Feed decided to promote themselves by publishing the most bizarre nonsense I´ve ever had the displeasure of reading. I vow to never visit their den of rot.

If people in power created these false allegations, it´s newsworthy. However, the news should be that the allegations were created, and not the allegations themselves. In today´s age of salacious click-bait, truth and fiction are conflated for maximum effect.

U.S. Director of National Intelligence James Clapper said he spoke with President-elect Donald Trump on Wednesday evening to discuss media leaks of a classified intelligence briefing on Russian hacking that Trump received last Friday. Clapper said in a statement that he does not believe the U.S. intelligence community leaked a private security document alleging Russian intelligence operatives have compromising information on Trump. "I emphasized that this document is not a U.S. Intelligence Community product and that I do not believe the leaks came from within the IC," Clapper said.

President Obama was not supposed to go out like this. Since the improbable election of Donald Trump, he has been trying to salvage his legacy. After all, what could be a greater repudiation of a progressive Democrat’s presidency than Americans choosing Trump as your successor? Obama didn’t expect this. He even admitted at one point during the campaign that if Hillary Clinton didn’t win, he would “consider it a personal insult—an insult to my legacy.” So lately he’s been scrambling, not just to ram through last-minute regulations and executive orders but to convince the country that his presidency has been

Megyn Kelly´s blockbuster jump from Fox to NBC hasn´t wowed her viewers as much as her new bosses at 30 Rock. According to a new poll, in fact, Fox viewers don´t plan to shift stations to catch her new shows on the network news giant. A survey from Morning Consult found that more Republican viewers, in fact, plan to reject TV antagonist of President-elect Trump on NBC platforms. "Republicans and Trump voters are not following Fox News´ former star anchor to her new home base at NBC News," said the poll analysis. It added: Megyn Kelly is headed to NBC News, an

Donald Trump refused to take a question from CNN reporter Jim Acosta today, labeling Acosta´s employer as "fake news." Since then, mainstream media and celebrities are hyperventilating over Trump as if he bears the same viciously totalitarian impulses as, say, Fidel Castro -- and that Trump is SCARY and GOING TO GET THEM. (Snip) Yet back then, Obama´s Communications Director Anita Dunn gave an interview to the New York Times during which she proclaimed Obama´s administration had adopted as policy that Fox News was fake news. The search for motives in 26-year-old Esteban Santiago’s shooting spree at the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport continues, but the authorities say they cannot find any ties to the Islamic State (ISIS) or other international terrorist organizations. Miami Herald reports that, despite rumors to the contrary, nothing in Santiago’s social media history indicates he was “an Islamic convert inspired by terrorist organizations.” According to the Herald’s law enforcement source, the airport shooting was clearly a planned attack, but Santiago appears to have planned it on his own, for reasons known currently only to himself. By now it is well-known that Santiago approached the

The White House slammed President-elect Donald Trump Wednesday for comparing U.S. intelligence agencies to Nazi Germany, saying the comparison was “deeply misguided.” “As President Obama has said many times, the men and women of our intelligence community are patriots,” said White House press secretary Josh Earnest. He said it was misguided of anyone “at any level” to question the motives of U.S. intelligence operatives. Mr. Trump questioned whether intelligence officials were responsible for the leak of an unverified document with damaging allegations about his activities in Russia, invoking Nazi Germany. “I think it was disgraceful that the intelligence agencies allowed any information that turned

Barbra Streisand is standing with Meryl Streep, who used her acceptance speech at Sunday´s Golden Globe Awards to criticize Donald Trump for lacking empathy and infamously mocking a disabled reporter in 2015. A day after Streep delivered her blistering rebuke of the president-elect, Streisand called in to Hardball With Chris Matthews and expressed her solidarity. I thought that [Streep] said what she said beautifully, Streisand remarked. Regarding Trump´s ridiculing of journalist Serge F. Kovaleski 14 months ago, Streisand added, I completely agree with Meryl. It was a heartbreaking moment and so beneath the dignity of the presidency, let alone any respectful person. Senator John McCain passed documents to the FBI director, James Comey, last month alleging secret contacts between the Trump campaign and Moscow and that Russian intelligence had personally compromising material on the president-elect himself. The material, which has been seen by the Guardian, is a series of reports on Trump’s relationship with Moscow. They were drawn up by a former western counter-intelligence official, now working as a private consultant. BuzzFeed on Tuesday published the documents, which it said were “unverified and potentially unverifiable”.

President Obama, as he concluded his farewell address in Chicago on Tuesday, called the U.S. Constitution “just a piece of parchment." “Our Constitution is a remarkable, beautiful gift,” said Obama. “But it’s really just a piece of parchment.” “It has no power on its own,” he went on. “We the people give it power. We the people give it meaning with our participation and with the choices that we make and the alliances that we forge…” He later said that as he steps down from the presidency, he plans to play an active role in "the most important office in a democracy: citizen."

Hillary Clinton’s political career is probably over, but just because she lost the presidential election to Donald Trump doesn’t mean she wasn’t prepared to win. Axios reporter Mike Allen has revealed Hillary’s list of prospective nominees for important cabinet posts in her administration, and it includes a number of interesting choices. John Podesta, her campaign chairman who accidentally exposed his entire email account to Russian hackers, was listed as the frontrunner to be Hillary Clinton’s secretary of state. Vice President Joe Biden was reportedly also being considered for the position. Facebook executive and Lean In author Sheryl Sandberg was in

So the website BuzzFeed decided to publish a series of memos that have been floating around for months alleging all kinds of terrible things about Donald Trump. Some of those terrible allegations have to do with efforts to influence the American elections and Trump. Some of them have to do with Trump’s personal sexual conduct. Readers of this newspaper know well not to include me among Trump’s supporters. But the scurrilousness of what BuzzFeed has done here is so beyond the bounds of what is even remotely acceptable it should compel even those most outraged by Trump’s political excesses to come to
