BuzzFeed CEO Jonah Peretti on Wednesday defended his news organization´s decision to publish a document with uncorroborated allegations about President-elect Donald Trump and Russia. (Snip) “We stand with [editor in chief] Ben [Smith’s] decision to publish this newsworthy document, which was reported on by multiple news outlets and seen by high level government officials including the president and president-elect,” Peretti said Wednesday in a note to staff, according to Business Insider. He said Buzzfeed would not respond to Trump´s criticism. At a press conference, Trump called Buzzfeed "a failing pile of garbage." He said Buzzfeed would not respond to Trump´s

Comments:
This pathetic fool tries to defend the indefensible. What is really interesting is mentioned on FNC is that NBC has invested $400 million in Buzzfeed. Link below. Now that is a stunner. I didn´t even know that they were associated with NBC. It probably didn´t make them happy that Mika and Tom Brokaw were trashing them. It´s funny that they are going to sell t-shirts with the garbage reference on it. I bet they don´t sell as well as ´we are the deplorables´ shirts! Maybe Megyn Kelly can work for them.

If people in power created these false allegations, it´s newsworthy. However, the news should be that the allegations were created, and not the allegations themselves. In today´s age of salacious click-bait, truth and fiction are conflated for maximum effect.

The Trump administration will end federal involvement with the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, according to Office of Management and Budget Director Mick Mulvaney. On a background call with reporters Wednesday, Mulvaney said defunding public television and public radio, including National Public Radio, will not be immediate because of the nature of government contracting. "We proposed ending funding, but technically what you´ll see—it´s an elimination—but you´ll see an amount of money in the budget, and it is some amount of money that´s necessary for us to unwind our involvement with CPB," Mulvaney said during the briefing on the administration´s budget blueprint. Liberal MSNBC host Rachel Maddow is defending herself from critics who said she misled her audience into believing she had a bombshell report on President Trump´s taxes. In an interview with the Associated Press, Maddow said she had never intended to create the impression that she was going to expose "damning information" about Trump. "Because I have information about the president doesn´t mean that it´s necessarily a scandal," she said Wednesday. "It doesn´t mean that it´s damning information. House Speaker Paul Ryan said he´ll "improve" and "refine" a plan to repeal and replace Obamacare, based on feedback from rank-and-file Republicans who don´t like the plan. Ryan, R-Wis., addressed reporters following a meeting in the Capitol basement with House Republicans and Vice President Mike Pence, who tried to rally lawmakers around what he described as an historic opportunity to reform the nation´s health insurance system. But the bill appears to lack enough support to pass in either the House or the Senate. In the House, the largest GOP faction of conservatives consider the GOP plan "Obamacare 2.0." New York Senator Charles Schumer was instrumental in getting Bharara appointed to that position and in return was asked from time to time to do favors for the senator and his allies. Up until recently, President Trump had no idea what was really going on. Once President Trump’s staff understood the quid pro quo, they had no choice but to ask for Bharara’s resignation.
