Trump´s ´fake news´ attack

CNN is defending its decision to publish a story based on an unverified report that claimed the Russian government has compromising financial and personal information related to President-elect Trump. The network released a statement Wednesday following a press conference Trump hosted in New York, wherein the president-elect called CNN "fake news" and called BuzzFeed "a failing pile of garbage" for posting the actual unverified report, along with a story that called on Americans to decide on their own whether it´s true. "CNN´s decision to publish carefully sourced reporting about the operations of our government is vastly different than BuzzFeed´s decision

Mr Trump, please have your press secretary do the smart and right thing. Make an example out of buzzfeed, cnn and any other organization who participated in this smear.

Remove their press credentials.

Use your alternate means of communication to go directly to Americans and inform them as to who, by name, and organization tried to undermine the will of WTP and the election with Fake news.

Fake news organizations should no longer have the protection of the First Amendment.

There is no defense. CNN´s attitude is inexcusable. They should apologize and change their ways if they wish to continue to exist.

Unverified indeed. National Enquirer is probably jealous of CNN´s "breaking news".
CNN has crossed the line and should be made to pay...in court and/or advertising dollars.

As a totally corrupt Fake News organization, CNN should be barred from the press briefing room. As should fake journalists.

The enemedia needs to understand that freedom of the press does not permit them to lie. Good for President Trump. I would have started the press conference by telling the idiot of CNN get out of here.

CNN got their "Clinton News Network" moniker the old fashioned way: they earned it.

We all know it´s true.

CNN can ´defend´ itself - but they are the true proffers of fiction - while omitting truthful, newsworthy segments because they didn´t favor The Beast.

The National Enquirer has more credibitlity at this moment.

How can they defend their lying other than make up more lies?

It´s about time CNN got called out. About time!

CNN´s "defense" that the American people should be allowed to make the decision themselves about the information flies in the face of their hiding negative information about the Obama administration for eight years or downplaying it once revealed, and their unethical complicity in cheating with Clinton´s campaign. They are laughable, completely lack ethics, are liars, and dangerous to our country.

Several media outlets pushed this bizarre story yesterday that Trump hired hookers in Moscow for a “golden shower.” You just can’t make this stuff up! According to BuzzFeed and CNN: Trump partook in “golden showers” in Russia with prostitutes on a bed Obama once slept on… Russia then blackmailed Trump, not by asking for money or influence in his business deals, but by forcing him to run for president against all odds and win? Here is the story that the CIA and idiots in the FAKE NEWS Media are pushing on America– Here’s what they want us to believe —

WASHINGTON- At the urging of President-elect Donald Trump, the U.S. Senate is prepared to go late into the night Wednesday with efforts to begin repealing the Affordable Care Act. Senators could mount a marathon session in the upper chamber to get the votes needed to start stripping President Barack Obama´s signature health care law. Trump has encouraged senators in recent days to craft the framework for a repeal, even though it doesn´t appear his administration or congressional Republicans have a replacement program ready to go -- a prospect outgoing Health and Human Services Secretary Sylvia Mathews Burwell said this week

This week we saw a few perfect examples of why liberal coastal elites are so resentful of middle America: It’s because the supposed rubes and rednecks aren’t more resentful of the elites — or, more specifically, the elites’ “success.” They don’t aspire to be like their self-appointed betters. Some Americans just don’t need much; they don’t think there’s anything wrong with wanting to have a 1,500-square-foot house, watch football and go to church on Sunday. They don’t want to leave their hometowns to come to Silicon Valley or Washington, DC, or Manhattan. They place great value on community and living

While BuzzFeed weathers criticism for publishing a document cache containing unsubstantiated and scandalous allegations about President-elect Donald Trump and his confidantes, they also could face legal consequences. The organization elected to publish a 35-page dossier claiming Russian operatives had compromising personal and financial information about the president-elect and others in his orbit. The documents were compiled by a former British intelligence officer working for a private intelligence firm in London at the behest of Trump’s political opponents. They were later shared with Democratic political operatives and members of Congress. If the salacious allegations in the document cache prove false, an

Republicans are rushing to begin confirmation hearings for Cabinet appointments even before the FBI has finished its background checks. For President-elect Donald Trump’s opponents, this makes uncovering flaws in his nominees all the more challenging. As a scholar of U.S. history, I have studied the many cases in which presidential nominees, particularly judges, have failed to gain Senate confirmation. However, according to the Senate Historical Office, there were four cases since 1970 in which a Senate controlled by the president’s party did not confirm the president’s nominees. In each case, the failed nominee had either ethical, financial or legal lapses

Barbra Streisand is standing with Meryl Streep, who used her acceptance speech at Sunday´s Golden Globe Awards to criticize Donald Trump for lacking empathy and infamously mocking a disabled reporter in 2015. A day after Streep delivered her blistering rebuke of the president-elect, Streisand called in to Hardball With Chris Matthews and expressed her solidarity. I thought that [Streep] said what she said beautifully, Streisand remarked. Regarding Trump´s ridiculing of journalist Serge F. Kovaleski 14 months ago, Streisand added, I completely agree with Meryl. It was a heartbreaking moment and so beneath the dignity of the presidency, let alone any respectful person. Senator John McCain passed documents to the FBI director, James Comey, last month alleging secret contacts between the Trump campaign and Moscow and that Russian intelligence had personally compromising material on the president-elect himself. The material, which has been seen by the Guardian, is a series of reports on Trump’s relationship with Moscow. They were drawn up by a former western counter-intelligence official, now working as a private consultant. BuzzFeed on Tuesday published the documents, which it said were “unverified and potentially unverifiable”.

President Obama, as he concluded his farewell address in Chicago on Tuesday, called the U.S. Constitution “just a piece of parchment." “Our Constitution is a remarkable, beautiful gift,” said Obama. “But it’s really just a piece of parchment.” “It has no power on its own,” he went on. “We the people give it power. We the people give it meaning with our participation and with the choices that we make and the alliances that we forge…” He later said that as he steps down from the presidency, he plans to play an active role in "the most important office in a democracy: citizen."

Hillary Clinton’s political career is probably over, but just because she lost the presidential election to Donald Trump doesn’t mean she wasn’t prepared to win. Axios reporter Mike Allen has revealed Hillary’s list of prospective nominees for important cabinet posts in her administration, and it includes a number of interesting choices. John Podesta, her campaign chairman who accidentally exposed his entire email account to Russian hackers, was listed as the frontrunner to be Hillary Clinton’s secretary of state. Vice President Joe Biden was reportedly also being considered for the position. Facebook executive and Lean In author Sheryl Sandberg was in

So the website BuzzFeed decided to publish a series of memos that have been floating around for months alleging all kinds of terrible things about Donald Trump. Some of those terrible allegations have to do with efforts to influence the American elections and Trump. Some of them have to do with Trump’s personal sexual conduct. Readers of this newspaper know well not to include me among Trump’s supporters. But the scurrilousness of what BuzzFeed has done here is so beyond the bounds of what is even remotely acceptable it should compel even those most outraged by Trump’s political excesses to come to
