´It´s like being stuck in a nightmare´: Madonna says she offered to devote her life to God while praying Donald Trump would lose on election night as she breaks down about his presidency Daily Mail (UK), by Chris Spargo
Madonna said in a new interview that she turned to a higher power the night of the election hoping that it would help Hillary Clinton defeat Donald Trump. ´On election night I was sitting at a table with my agent, who is also one of my very best friends, and we were truly praying. We were praying,´ revealed the singer in the February issue of Harper´s Bazaar. She goes on to say that her agent knew someone who worked on the Clinton campaign, and that early in the night they heard that things were not going well for the Democratic
I guess Madonna doesn´t understand that when you try to bargain with God it doesn´t work out unless it´s His plan to begin with and not yours. The let´s make a deal approach to God is mostly a fools errand. If hillary had won Madonna´s life devoted to God would have lasted about as long as the typical New Years Eve resolution - not very long.
I was praying regularly that we would be saved from the evils of Hellary and the country brought back to our former greatness, so we could honor our Christian roots. Too many good things have gone this country´s way in the last couple of centuries to believe that we are not special to the Lord. Sadly, we have not been living up to our end of the deal.
Another Hollyweird snowflake melting, melting, melting.
Consider the stupidity of her actions. She did a concert the night before the election in Manhattan. There was NEVER any doubt that Hillary would win New York. Why didn´t she go to Michigan to fire THEM up? Duh!
Light a few less candles dear and stop and think a little more.
Oh, after a life of debauchery and sexual abandonment NOW she is ready to devote her life to God? Since she was a hitlery supporter, she was obviously praying to the wrong god. She devoted her life to him, and now I hope she receives her reward.
So much leisure time to devote to worrying about something that ultimately will have NO affect on her. I had to go to work the day after Obama won two elections. Did not like the outcome, but I got over it! I have to say I was forlorn for my children imagining what the country would be like after 8 years of Hillary. I now have a very small perspective at the exuberance the Israelites felt when Moses raised his staff and the sea parted!
James 5:16 ´Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much. "
She evidently was not praying to Jehovah God and she is not a righteous person.
NONE of us are. Neither candidate was a saint, but perhaps the wickedness was exposed and many who voted in states not full of liberals made the difference by consulting and listening to their conscience and that "small voice´..
Republicans are rushing to begin confirmation hearings for Cabinet appointments even before the FBI has finished its background checks. For President-elect Donald Trump’s opponents, this makes uncovering flaws in his nominees all the more challenging. As a scholar of U.S. history, I have studied the many cases in which presidential nominees, particularly judges, have failed to gain Senate confirmation. However, according to the Senate Historical Office, there were four cases since 1970 in which a Senate controlled by the president’s party did not confirm the president’s nominees. In each case, the failed nominee had either ethical, financial or legal lapses
Ivanka Trump, the daughter of President-elect Trump and the wife of incoming White House Senior Adviser Jared Kushner, on Wednesday described her plans for taking "a formal leave of absence" from the Trump Organization. "When my father takes office as the 45th president of the United States of America, I will take a formal leave of absence from the Trump Organization and my eponymous apparel and accessories brand," Ivanka Trump wrote on Facebook. "I will no longer be involved with the management or operations of either company." Ivanka Trump said Abigail Klem will become president "to lead my brand." "She
Wednesday on CNN addressing media reports that he had turned over a dossier containing unverified claims about Russia and President-elect Donald Trump, Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) said, “I don’t know if it’s credible or not but I thought the information deserved to be delivered to the FBI, the appropriate agency of government.” Partial transcript as follows: MCCAIN: After looking at that information I took it to the FBI and have had no further involvement with it at issue. By the way, according to some media reports they already had that information, but I didn’t know that at the time. I
The Air Force has just released it´s annual collection of best pictures, which give a unique insight to the lives of America´s Airmen. The pictures show Airmen carrying out adventurous acts like speeding through the skies in jets, jumping out of airplanes at 10,000 feet and helping NASA launch rockets into space. The pictures also show them performing lesser-known military activities, like airlifting a donated firetruck to Nicaragua and evacuating American families from politically tumultuous Turkey. Other Airmen spend most of their time grounded - like Senior Airman Angelique Culver, a dental lab technician at the Joint Base San Antinio-Lackland
Sparks flew early in Wednesday’s secretary of state nomination hearing for Rex Tillerson when Republican Sen. Marco Rubio ripped the former ExxonMobil CEO for refusing to say outright that Russian President Vladimir Putin is a “war criminal.” “Is Putin a war criminal?” the Florida Republican asked. “I would not use that term,” Mr. Tillerson said. Mr. Rubio, who expressed skepticism when President-elect Donald Trump first named the former oil executive to be secretary of state, was being closely watched at the hearing. His tough line of questioning suggested he still had trouble with both Mr. Trump and Mr. Tillerson’s approach
President-Elect Donald Trump holds his first press conference of the new year. Trump spoke to far left reporters at Trump Tower in New York just days before taking the Oath of Office. (Photo) Trump told far left reporters “sick people” and political “opponents” released the “Fake News” story on the Russian “golden shower” hoax. “I was in Russia years ago with the Miss Universe contest which did very well, the Moscow area. It did very, very well. And I told many people be careful because you don’t want to see yourself on television. There’s cameras all over. Does anyone really
Almost minutes after President Barack Obama concluded his farewell address Tuesday night, CNN jumped into whining about not being able to hear such deep speech from President-elect Donald Trump. “Also as we think about the next president about to take office, I mean, their speaking styles could not possibly be any more different,” noted moderator, Anderson Cooper, as unseen members of his panel laughed. “We’re not going to be hearing a speech LIKE THIS from a sitting president for the next four or eight years,” he continued to bemoan, as CNN’s chief political correspondent Dana Bash chimed in to glorify
Barbra Streisand is standing with Meryl Streep, who used her acceptance speech at Sunday´s Golden Globe Awards to criticize Donald Trump for lacking empathy and infamously mocking a disabled reporter in 2015. A day after Streep delivered her blistering rebuke of the president-elect, Streisand called in to Hardball With Chris Matthews and expressed her solidarity. I thought that [Streep] said what she said beautifully, Streisand remarked. Regarding Trump´s ridiculing of journalist Serge F. Kovaleski 14 months ago, Streisand added, I completely agree with Meryl. It was a heartbreaking moment and so beneath the dignity of the presidency, let alone any respectful person. What we need more in this world
Senator John McCain passed documents to the FBI director, James Comey, last month alleging secret contacts between the Trump campaign and Moscow and that Russian intelligence had personally compromising material on the president-elect himself. The material, which has been seen by the Guardian, is a series of reports on Trump’s relationship with Moscow. They were drawn up by a former western counter-intelligence official, now working as a private consultant. BuzzFeed on Tuesday published the documents, which it said were “unverified and potentially unverifiable”.
Sworn Donald Trump enemy John McCain admitted Wednesday that he passed the dossier of claims of a Russian blackmail plot against the president-elect. The Arizona senator issued a public statement amid mounting questions of his exact role in the affair - and how a document riddled with errors and unverifiable claims came to be published. ´Late last year, I received sensitive information that has since been made public,´ he said. ´Upon examination of the contents, and unable to make a judgment about their accuracy, I delivered the information to the Director of the FBI. ´That has been the extent of
President Obama, as he concluded his farewell address in Chicago on Tuesday, called the U.S. Constitution “just a piece of parchment." “Our Constitution is a remarkable, beautiful gift,” said Obama. “But it’s really just a piece of parchment.” “It has no power on its own,” he went on. “We the people give it power. We the people give it meaning with our participation and with the choices that we make and the alliances that we forge…” He later said that as he steps down from the presidency, he plans to play an active role in "the most important office in a democracy: citizen."
Hillary Clinton’s political career is probably over, but just because she lost the presidential election to Donald Trump doesn’t mean she wasn’t prepared to win. Axios reporter Mike Allen has revealed Hillary’s list of prospective nominees for important cabinet posts in her administration, and it includes a number of interesting choices. John Podesta, her campaign chairman who accidentally exposed his entire email account to Russian hackers, was listed as the frontrunner to be Hillary Clinton’s secretary of state. Vice President Joe Biden was reportedly also being considered for the position. Facebook executive and Lean In author Sheryl Sandberg was in
Fox News anchor Shepard Smith on Wednesday criticized President-elect Donald Trump for his shouting match with a CNN reporter. (Snip) "President-elect Trump today told CNN´s Jim Acosta the his organization amounts to fake news. CNN´s exclusive reporting on the Russian matter was separate and distinctly different from the document dump executed by an online news property," Smith said during his closing monologue. "Though we at Fox News cannot confirm CNN´s report, it is our observation that it´s correspondents followed journalistic standards and that neither they nor any other journalists should be subjected to belittling and delegitimizing by the president-elect of the
So the website BuzzFeed decided to publish a series of memos that have been floating around for months alleging all kinds of terrible things about Donald Trump. Some of those terrible allegations have to do with efforts to influence the American elections and Trump. Some of them have to do with Trump’s personal sexual conduct. Readers of this newspaper know well not to include me among Trump’s supporters. But the scurrilousness of what BuzzFeed has done here is so beyond the bounds of what is even remotely acceptable it should compel even those most outraged by Trump’s political excesses to come to
