Brzezinski Slams CNN and Buzzfeed
For Letting ‘Their Bias Get in the

MSNBC’s Morning Joe on Wednesday has been wrestling with how to handle unverified reports that surfaced in the media yesterday evening, and cohost Mika Brzezinski called out two key media outlets for taking part in what she calls the same sort of behavior that many wrongly engaged with before the election. Before President Barack Obama gave his farewell address in Chicago Tuesday night, there was a dizzying array of reports regarding President-elect Donald Trump and his connections to Russia. First, it a four-byline story from CNN: “Intel chiefs presented Trump with claims of Russian efforts to compromise him,” from Evan

Comments:
I am sure no fan of Mika´s but I have to give her credit for speaking out. This all stinks so badly that it takes your breath away. Buzzfeed has always been a joke but Jake Tapper should know better. He should be fired for running with such a horrific, unconfirmed story. This is only going to help Trump.

This, as far as I can tell, is the pinnacle of CNN journalistic ethics. It only gets worse. CNN is nothing but a propaganda entertainment show (and not very good at that). As always, consider the source.

When bias takes an active role in destruction, there should be a heavy price to pay.

Suddenly remembered where I´ve heard this sort of thing before.

Story is Lyndon Johnson was involved in a tight race in Texas. He told his advisors to start spreading the rumor that his opponent, a pig farmer, enjoyed carnal knowledge of his barnyard sows.

The advisor said, "What? There´s no way people will believe something like that!"

LBJ: "I know that. But let´s make the S.O.B. have to DENY it!"

A media outlet that knowingly presents FALSE news as real news should be punished. There is NO journalistic integrity any longer. They are treasonous scum.

President Obama, as he concluded his farewell address in Chicago on Tuesday, called the U.S. Constitution “just a piece of parchment." “Our Constitution is a remarkable, beautiful gift,” said Obama. “But it’s really just a piece of parchment.” “It has no power on its own,” he went on. “We the people give it power. We the people give it meaning with our participation and with the choices that we make and the alliances that we forge…” He later said that as he steps down from the presidency, he plans to play an active role in "the most important office in a democracy: citizen."

Incoming White House Chief of Staff Reince Priebus slammed a newly reported document alleging that Russians might have had compromising information on President-elect Donald Trump as “offensive crap” and “garbage.” “[It’s] offensive crap that we shouldn’t even be talking about,” Mr. Priebussaid Wednesday on NBC’s “Today” program. “This is garbage … shameful is what it is.” Mr. Trump on Wednesday morning tweeted: “Russia has never tried to use leverage over me. I HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH RUSSIA - NO DEALS, NO LOANS, NO NOTHING!” The businessman also tweeted: “Russia just said the unverified report paid for by political opponents is “A

Army document leaker Chelsea Manning is on President Obama´s short list for a possible sentence commutation, NBC News reported Wednesday. The decision could reportedly come as soon as Wednesday, the network reported, citing a Justice Department source. "I have more hope right now than I have the entire time since she was sentenced," Manning´s aunt, Deborah Manning, told NBC News. "I do think it´s the last hope for a while." Manning, a former Army analyst, was sentenced to 35 years in prison after leaking thousands of classified documents related to the Iraq and Afghanistan wars to WikiLeaks. Manning pleaded guilty

In a fascinating retort by the NYT to the story of the day, namely the CNN-BuzzFeed narrative based on an unverified 35-page memo allegedly prepared by a UK intelligence officer, even the paper of record takes the two media outlets to town, and in an article titled "BuzzFeed Posts Unverified Claims on Trump, Stirring Debate" essentially accuses them of doing what CNN has accused so much of the ´alternative media´ in doing when distributing "fake news." Here are the key excerpts: The reports by CNN and Buzzfeed sent other news organizations, including The New York Times and The Washington Post,

The saga over alleged Russian interference in the U.S. elections took another sinister turn Tuesday, as it was revealed that U.S. intelligence officials provided President-elect Donald Trump with a charge that the Russians had obtained dirt on him. U.S. officials included a two-page synopsis of ´kompromat´ – Russian for compromising material – as part of their security briefing of Trump on Friday. The material was based on memos compiled by a British intelligence operative who was considered ´credible´ by the U.S. intelligence community, CNN reported. President Obama will tell Americans Tuesday night in his farewell address that actively engaged citizens are the key to creating a more perfect union. “This is the great gift our Founders gave us,” Mr. Obama will say, according to excerpts of his speech released by the White House. “The freedom to chase our individual dreams through our sweat, toil, and imagination – and the imperative to strive together as well, to achieve a greater good.” He’ll speak to nearly 20,000 supporters in Chicago, where, he has said, “it all began.” Among the warmup entertainment are singer Eddie Vedder and a 24-member children’s

Barbra Streisand is standing with Meryl Streep, who used her acceptance speech at Sunday´s Golden Globe Awards to criticize Donald Trump for lacking empathy and infamously mocking a disabled reporter in 2015. A day after Streep delivered her blistering rebuke of the president-elect, Streisand called in to Hardball With Chris Matthews and expressed her solidarity. I thought that [Streep] said what she said beautifully, Streisand remarked. Regarding Trump´s ridiculing of journalist Serge F. Kovaleski 14 months ago, Streisand added, I completely agree with Meryl. It was a heartbreaking moment and so beneath the dignity of the presidency, let alone any respectful person. Professor Michael Eric Dyson thinks that white people should have an ‘Individual Reparations Account’ to make donations to black institutions and individuals. (Snip) I agree with reparations, but maybe this is my white privilege speaking: I can’t imagine actually doing that. That is what I meant by an I.R.A.: an individual reparations account. You ain’t got to ask the government, you don’t have to ask your local politician — this is what you, an individual, conscientious, “woke” citizen can do. But charity can’t be the end of it, right? The Gold Star father who blasted Donald Trump at the Democratic convention this summer is returning to the national stage this week, firing off a letter demanding the Senate reject Sen. Jeff Sessions, Mr. Trump’s attorney general nominee. Khizr Khan, the Pakistan-born father of a U.S. Army captain killed in the Iraq war, said his son’s service was a rejection of people like Mr. Sessions, who he accused of associating with racially divisive and ‘intensely anti-Muslim” groups. Mr. Khan also said Mr. Sessions has defended proposals “that would single Muslim immigrants out for discriminatory treatment on the basis of their religious beliefs.” “My

Hillary Clinton’s political career is probably over, but just because she lost the presidential election to Donald Trump doesn’t mean she wasn’t prepared to win. Axios reporter Mike Allen has revealed Hillary’s list of prospective nominees for important cabinet posts in her administration, and it includes a number of interesting choices. John Podesta, her campaign chairman who accidentally exposed his entire email account to Russian hackers, was listed as the frontrunner to be Hillary Clinton’s secretary of state. Vice President Joe Biden was reportedly also being considered for the position. Facebook executive and Lean In author Sheryl Sandberg was in

Senator John McCain passed documents to the FBI director, James Comey, last month alleging secret contacts between the Trump campaign and Moscow and that Russian intelligence had personally compromising material on the president-elect himself. The material, which has been seen by the Guardian, is a series of reports on Trump’s relationship with Moscow. They were drawn up by a former western counter-intelligence official, now working as a private consultant. BuzzFeed on Tuesday published the documents, which it said were “unverified and potentially unverifiable”.

One Silicon Valley executive had a few choice words to describe Americans living in the heart of the nation, and they were not flattering. Melinda Byerley, MBA and founder of Timeshare CMO, a Silicon Valley-based tech start-up, tweeted out Saturday afternoon describing what middle America could do to “get more jobs in their area.” Byerley says that the first thing those in middle America need to realize is that “no educated person wants to live in a sh**hole with stupid people.” Particularly, in a “sh**hole” filled with people who are “violent, racist, and/or misogynistic.” In Byerley’s opinion, “big corporations,” do
