The Conquering Loser
American Spectator, by George Neumayr

Original Article

In George Washington’s 1796 farewell address, he argued that of “all the dispositions and habits which lead to political prosperity, religion and morality are indispensable supports.” In Barack Obama’s farewell address, he congratulated himself for undermining them. He identified America’s progress in the diminution of its historic religion and morality and urged Americans to embrace greater and greater departures from them. The country’s future, he said, depends upon welcoming Islam and the transgendered, among other favored groups, and eschewing “discrimination,” his catch-all term for any lingering conservatism in the country. At one point, he even tried to turn George Washington into a

I made it! I never listened to one of Barry´s me speeches, press conferences or State of Union BS. Can´t wait to hear PE Trump today.

This is the part of his speech that I accidentally caught last night while flipping channels: “After all, if every economic issue is framed as a struggle between a hardworking white middle class and undeserving minorities, then workers of all shades will be left fighting for scraps while the wealthy withdraw further into their private enclaves. If we decline to invest in the children of immigrants, just because they don’t look like us, we diminish the prospects of our own children — because those brown kids will represent a larger share of America’s workforce.”

It was so infuriating. NO ONE, NO ONE on the right has ever "FRAMED" the argument this way or even implied it. I´ve never heard anyone say this, it´s all made up straw man arguments intended to drive people apart. It´s so irresponsible, and unfortunately, he is not going to go quietly into the night. He´s going to Chicago to continue to organize, and I´m betting everything I have that Michelle Obama will run for the US Senate in 2020. She says she´s not interested, but I guarantee she gets "heavily" recruited to the point that she just can´t say no. They are going to be the Clintons 2.0.

Saudis, Russia, shale. That is all ye need to know in order to understand the oil market. The Saudis lead the OPEC oil cartel, Russia is their largest potential fellow traveler, and the Permian Basin in the Southwest is the oil-rich shale that stands between the other two and $100 per barrel oil. There was a time when the Saudi-led cartel of 13 oil producers could more or less control the price of oil. If the market got so high as to encourage the development of alternatives to oil, the Saudis would open the taps and increase production to bring prices

The latest Leftist hypocrisy is in, and it´s a doozy. Progressives are losing their minds over President Trump´s budget proposal for all sorts of reasons. Under his legal obligation, President Trump submitted his proposed budget to Congress for approval. If you listen to the Democrat Media Complex, it will hurt the poor, the young, the elderly, the rural, the vulnerable, the arts, the sciences, Big Bird, and federal workers. In typical liberal self-unaware fashion, progressives fail to remember how President Obama blew off his legal obligation to submit a budget proposal by the statutory deadline in seven of his eight years

Liberals shrieked last week when President Trump proposed cutting American funding for the United Nations by 50 percent. Trump dismisses the United Nations as a “waste of time and money.” That’s the least of it. US taxpayers bankroll the organization to the tune of $10 billion a year. Our hard-earned money perpetuates an organization that validates the most savage human-rights abusers on the globe, regularly votes against America and targets America’s ally Israel for extinction. The worst example of UN failure and waste, however, is its peacekeeping missions. Past American presidents have poured billions into UN peacekeeping operations that have propped up autocratic

WASHINGTON — In a gamble with monumental political stakes, Republicans set course for a climactic House vote on their health care overhaul after President Donald Trump claimed he was finished negotiating with GOP holdouts and determined to pursue the rest of his agenda, win or lose. House Speaker Paul Ryan set the showdown for Friday, following a nighttime Capitol meeting at which top White House officials told GOP lawmakers that Trump had decided the time for talk was over. "We have been promising the American people that we will repeal and replace this broken law because it´s collapsing and it´s

I´m considering making each entry in this space for the next several weeks a continuation of the argument that today’s modern Left and the Democrat Party it drives is a movement by and for people incapable of doing a proper job. This wasn’t always true, mind you. Not completely. After all, it was Democrats who ran the antebellum South, and their idea of running a successful economy was forced agricultural labor to benefit a medieval-style aristocracy. But on the other hand, the Left demonstrated quite often in the past that it was awfully good at winning political arguments — so good,

President must close the ‘deal’ on Obamacare

President Trump is facing the first crucial test of his presidency — repealing and replacing Obamacare — and he needs to apply the negotiating chops and deal-making skills he bragged about in his bestselling book, “The Art of the Deal,” to fixing our broken health-care system. And given his low approval ratings, he needs a win. Dealing with the Obamacare mess has been the core focus of the Republican party for the past 7 years — not to mention a major campaign promise that helped propel Donald Trump to the White House. So it’s imperative that the president seal the deal and

The House of Representatives will vote Thursday on the American Health Care Act, a bill President Donald Trump has enthusiastically endorsed and what the administration considers its best and perhaps only chance to repeal and replace Obamacare. It´s the first and possibly biggest test so far of Trump´s ability to push forward his legislative agenda with a sizable Republican majority in the House and a marginal one in the Senate. Democrats ought to apply that reasoning and skip over Maxine Waters if they´re looking for a new conscience of the House. After three decades in Congress, the California Democrat has a more than checkered past. But that didn´t keep her from predicting President Trump´s political demise. "Get ready for impeachment," Waters cryptically tweeted out of the blue on Trump´s 61st day in office and without further explanation. Yet it’s almost certain they won’t get what they desire. Don’t get me wrong, I’m always rooting for an impeachment. Perhaps the FBI will ferret out emails that show Trump asking Vlad Putin to hack John Podesta’s emails. President Mike Pence would in every way — on trade, foreign policy, entitlements, and just overall competence and non-craziness — offer a more conservative White House than Trump does. Sears is on the verge of declaring bankruptcy. All department stores have faced increased competition from Amazon.com, but Sears is out of cash and about to fail. Why? Because the CEO, Eddie Lampert, is a guy with nutty ideas who treated Sears like a dotcom, conveniently forgetting that it has physical stores that need maintaining. A group of Senate Democrats is beginning to explore trying to extract concessions from Republicans in return for allowing Supreme Court nominee Neil Gorsuch to be confirmed, according to multiple sources familiar with the matter. The lawmakers worry that Gorsuch could be confirmed whether Democrats try to block him or not — and Democrats would be left with nothing to show for it. That would be a bitter pill after the GOP blocked Merrick Garland for nearly a year. The deal Democrats would be most likely to pursue, the sources said, would be to allow confirmation of Gorsuch in exchange for a
