The saga over alleged Russian interference in the U.S. elections took another sinister turn Tuesday, as it was revealed that U.S. intelligence officials provided President-elect Donald Trump with a charge that the Russians had obtained dirt on him. U.S. officials included a two-page synopsis of ´kompromat´ – Russian for compromising material – as part of their security briefing of Trump on Friday. The material was based on memos compiled by a British intelligence operative who was considered ´credible´ by the U.S. intelligence community, CNN reported. What is believed to be the document itself was published by Buzzfeed, which pointed out
Comments: This is just truly stunning. Who was the filthy political hack who leaked this? Why hasn´t there been the same deep diving investigations into Barack Hussein Obama? This one has shocked me. The Democrats and some Republicans must be giddy.
Nobody cares about that stuff anymore. Not since Billy Jeff used his cigar and stained the blue dress. Not since led Zeppelin and the fish. Not since, well, rap music. Not since Neve Campbell, Matt Dillon, and Denise Richards made Wild Things. The culture now celebrates freaky, and this nonsense has nothing to do with MAGA. Onward!!
Years ago, I wanted to visit Russia. The US Government told me I should not, since they pulled all kind of dirty tricks on people. As far as I am concerned, it is trash talk. Trump has been a Patriot and an American Hero in his determination, effort and expense to fight the Demoniacs to regain our country.
This is an attempted coup right before our eyes, before even an inauguration. The claims in this are just bizarre and ridiculous--that Trump arranged for p rostitutes to urinate on a hotel bed that the Obamas slept in!??! And by the way, one of the claims--that Trump´s lawyer met with somebody in Prague--has already been easily refuted with the p ublication t onight of his passport. Anyway, this is all just unbelievable.
Thanks to Bill Clinton and the cigar, everything is mainstream. Heck, in San Fran this sort of behavior would be considered quaint...sorta 1980´s kink. Assuming any of this is remotely true, so what. I like the Michelle Obama twist, tries to broaden the base of outrage. Only the press will hyperventilate about this.
Trump was never my candidate until after the primary. I always thought he was a shill for Hillary. This article foreshadows what´s to come as long as he´s in office. I don´t like his temperment and indiscipline, but I like his leadership and the team he´s creating. Whatever happens, WE won and Hillary lost. Nothing can diminish that.
This is what you get when you have the two worst candidates ever running for president. I´m at the point where I believe just about anything about politicians and the disgusting Hollywood crowd. None are saints and if you believe Trump is pure, you are naive. Unlike others, I do care, but there´s nothing I can do about it.
#25, if you go back and read the posts on this thread, you will see that nobody said they think Trump is pure. In fact, many said the opposite. They all care very much; they just have different priorities than you do. They´ve also learned to ignore a demonstrably, purposefully dishonest media, not because they refuse to believe anything bad about Trump, but because the media have proven themselves to be intentional, repeated liars.
The Republican plan to repeal and replace Obamacare would result in 14 million more people without health coverage next year but reduce federal spending by $337 billion compared to current law, according to an estimate Monday from Congress´ official scorekeeper. About 24 million people would lose coverage over the next decade under the American Health Care Act, the Congressional Budget Office said Monday. But the plan would reduce taxes by $883 billion over the next decade. The highly anticipated estimate holds major bearing on the task before President Trump and Republican House leaders, who are trying to sell their plan
Opposition is mounting on Capitol Hill and in conservative foreign policy circles over Defense Secretary James Mattis´s efforts to hire a former Obama administration official who lobbied in favor of engagement with the Muslim Brotherhood and spearheaded efforts to criticize Israeli counter-terrorism efforts, according to multiple sources close to the Trump administration. (Snip) Multiple sources on Capitol Hill and those close to the Trump foreign policy teams are voicing concerns about the pick, warning that Patterson would seek to continue some of the former Obama administration´s most controversial foreign policies, such as conducting outreach to the Muslim Brotherhood. Patterson, who
Snoop Dogg has never shied away from making political statements, and with Donald Trump currently President of the United States, the rapper has some thoughts he wants to share. For the music video ‘Lavender,’ a collaboration with BADBADNOTGOOD featuring Kaytranada, Trump is depicted as a clown who - at the video’s climax - gets held up at gunpoint. "The whole world is clownin’ around, and [Jesse Wellens, the director´s] concept is so right on point with the art direction and the reality, because if you really look at some of these mother*****, they are clowns,” he told Billboard of the
Rep. Mo Brooks (R-Ala.), a member of the House Freedom Caucus, is among the conservatives criticizing the Republicans´ repeal-and-replace bill, saying it is “not a repeal of Obamacare.” Speaking on Fox News’s “America’s News Headquarters” on Saturday, Brooks said “Well, let’s be clear by way of background, we are being asked to vote for the largest Republican welfare plan in the history of the Republican Party. That should be a hard swallow and a hard sell. We’ll see how it plays out. “To get my support, we have to keep our commitments to the American people. We promised that we were going
Senate Democrats announced a bill Monday to revoke President Trump’s latest extreme vetting executive order, saying it’s discriminatory and counterproductive to the country’s efforts to influence allies. Led by Sen. Dianne Feinstein, ranking Democrat on the Judiciary Committee, the new bill is succinct — it cancels the March 6 order that suspends the refugee program and puts a 90-day halt on most admissions from six Middle East and African countries. “President Trump’s discriminatory executive order isn’t about strengthening our national security. It’s a transparent effort to fulfill his campaign promise to implement a ‘Muslim Ban,’” Mrs. Feinstein said in a
An Arlington, Va., woman allegedly falsified welfare applications to receive more than $100,000 in benefits while her husband raked in $1.5 million salary. Police say Helen Agbapuruonwu, mother of four, collected food stamps and Medicaid benefits from 2010 to 2016, while here husband, Fidelis Agbapuruonwu, was earning $1.5 million as a lawyer in Washington, D.C., NBC News 4 reports. Helen Agbapuruonwu “fraudulently obtained public assistance in excess of $100,000 under false pretenses” police allege, and she has been charged “with felony welfare fraud and document forgery,” according to a police report. Dinesh D’Souza cheered the firing of U.S. attorney, Preet Bharara on Saturday. Today, he appeared on Fox & Friends and called him a ‘ruthless and deceitful guy’ who politically prosecuted him for being a conservative. "D’Souza: “…He (Preet Bharara) is a ruthless and a very deceitful guy. The first thing that’s highlighted inside my case file is ‘I’m a conservative’. This should be completely irrelevant in the decision whether to prosecute me. It should be beside the point. But of course in Bharara’s case it was the point. This was a political prosecution conducted by Bharara as a henchman for the
WASHINGTON — Concerned by the shortage of government experience and early missteps by Trump administration officials —including President Trump — a group of lawyers is launching a watchdog organization that will seek to track the administration´s ethics and expose potential conflicts, fraud or other wrongdoing. The organization, “American Oversight,” which says it is nonpartisan despite some of its founders having deep ties to Democrats, will focus on prying loose documents through public records requests and lawsuits under the Freedom of Information Act. Regardless of what they uncover, such efforts could haunt the administration much the way similar actions by conservative
Faced with students who won´t buy lunches low in salt and sugar and jacked up with bland-tasting grains, the nation´s 54,000 school cafeteria workers are urging Washington to junk health-focused rules pushed by former first lady Michelle Obama. Feeling that they have an ally on their side in the Trump administration, their lobby group, the School Nutrition Association, plans to press for less-strict restrictions on ingredients that taste good. The reason is simple: Studies show that public school students aren´t eating what cafeterias are serving, turning many operations into money-losers. While the school districts can opt out, doing so results Headline and link corrected*
All this talk about "draining the swamp" has the alligators worried. And some of the most aggressive gators in Washington, D.C., are actually state governments: they´re perpetually hungry for more tax revenue to fuel their burgeoning bureaucracies back home. One juicy morsel they´d like to snap up is a bigger piece of the e-commerce pie. They´re asking Congress to pass a law to help them pocket sales taxes on goods their residents buy online from out-of-state businesses. At first blush, that may sound reasonable. But requiring businesses in one state to collect and remit taxes to another state amounts to
A group of activists vandalized one of President Donald Trump’s golf courses Sunday morning because of the president’s “blatant disregard” for the environment. The group of anonymous demonstrators sneaked into the Trump National Gold Club in California and etched a seemingly incoherent message into one of the course’s greens. Golf Digest ranked the 18-hole, 7,300-yard course the 43rd best course in California. (Snip) “Repurposing what was once a beautiful stretch of land into a playground for the privileged is an environmental crime in its own right,” the activist added, on the condition of anonymity. Vandals have targeted Trump properties in
Former U.S. Attorney Preet Bharara, who was fired by Attorney General Jeff Sessions after he refused to resign, was probing whether Fox News executives illegally obtained reporters’ phone records, and committed fraud by hiding financial payments to some women who accused former CEO Roger Ailes of sexual harassment, according to a report by New York Magazine reporter Gabriel Sherman. Sherman reports, “Sources told me that that prosecutors have been offering witnesses immunity to testify before a federal grand jury that’s already been impaneled.” Last month, an attorney for former Fox News personality Andrea Tantaros said in court, as first reported
Former U.S. attorney Preet Bharara Sunday implied that he was fired by President Trump in order to kill an investigation. Bharara, whose district encompassed Manhattan, was one of 46 U.S. attorneys across the country who had been asked by the Trump administration to resign Friday afternoon. He refused to resign, setting up a public showdown with the Trump administration. A day later, he announced via Twitter that he had been fired. Then on Sunday, he tweeted a suggestion that his firing had something to do with an effort to squash an investigation.
Sen. John McCain predicted Sunday that the public would learn more about the relationship between President Donald Trump´s 2016 presidential campaign and the Russian government. In an interview on CNN´s "State of the Union," the Arizona Republican said there were "a lot of things about our relations with Russia that trouble me a lot." He cited the removal of a provision in the 2016 Republican party platform that supported sending lethal weapons to Ukraine, a move that was "not the will of most Republicans." "There´s a lot of aspects of this whole relationship with Russia and Vladimir Putin that requires further scrutiny.
New York education officials are poised to scrap a test designed to measure the reading and writing skills of people trying to become teachers, in part because an outsized percentage of black and Hispanic candidates were failing it. The state Board of Regents on Monday is expected Monday to adopt a task force´s recommendation of eliminating the literacy exam, known as the Academic Literacy Skills Test. Backers of the test say eliminating it could put weak teachers in classrooms. Critics of the examination said it is redundant and a poor predictor of who will succeed as a teacher. "We want
Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., Sunday went on a tweetstorm against President Trump a day after he fired a top federal prosecutor in New York. Warren suggested that Preet Bharara was fired because he "had authority over Trump Tower." "Preet Bharara had authority over Trump Tower. [Trump] called him directly, breaching protocol. 24 hrs later he was asked to resign," Warren tweeted, referring to Trump´s reported phone call to the attorney Thursday, which broke rules prohibiting sitting U.S. attorneys from speaking with the president. (Tweets) Bharara was one of 46 U.S. attorneys across the country who had been asked by the
Students from one Iowan high school recently apologized to the principal of another Iowan high school when people found their choice of red, white and blue attire offensive. Supporters of the Des Moines North High School basketball team, many of whose players are from refugee families, were offended when fans of Valley High School’s basketball team wore red, white and blue last week, The College Fix reports. “This is an example of BLATANT racism,” said Ty Leggett, a Valley High School alum, on the Valley High School – WDMCS Facebook page. “ALL participating should have been pulled and banned from
Connecticut State Sen. Ted Kennedy Jr. (D-Branford) — son of former U.S. Sen. Ted Kennedy (D-Mass.) — wants to give state government control over what happens to citizens’ organs after they die. Kennedy recently introduced SB 750, which would automatically enroll Connecticut’s citizens in the organ donation program. [snip] “If people want to donate their organs after death, I have no problem with that at all, but it should not be coercive in any way,” state Sen. Len Suzio (R-Meriden) told the local Connecticut newspaper The Record-Journal. As is the case in most states, citizens currently must choose to opt
Frightened immigrants are creeping into Canada through a quiet border town in northeast New York to escape Donald Trump. The families are fleeing through the town of Champlain which shares a border with Quebec. They make their crossing on Roxham Road which leads them directly towards the village of Hemmingford and in to the path of Royal Canadian Mounted Police officers who take them to immigration offices where they can apply for asylum. Since Donald Trump tried to implement a controversial travel ban stopping citizens from Muslim majority countries from entering the US, foot traffic on the road has increased.
Former Democratic U.S. Vice President Joe Biden said on Sunday in one of his first major speeches since leaving office this year that he would have liked to have been the U.S. president who ended cancer as we know it. Biden, whose son Beau died from brain cancer in 2015, delivered an emotional speech at the South by Southwest technology summit in Austin, Texas, about continuing the work he led under former Democratic President Barack Obama in the so-called "Cancer Moonshot," an initiative aimed at speeding up research into new cancer therapies. He spoke of the need for prevention, research
The revelation making the rounds again about Obama, how he sneaked through $221 million to his terrorist friends the Palestinian Authority during the last hours of his presidency, makes it elaborately clear that he was always in it for himself and for his pals. For eight years Israel was betrayed and America was duped by a charmer. I remember a movie that starred Tony Curtis in “The Great Impostor.” But there have been others like it, like Matt Damon in “The Talented Mr. Ripley” -- about men skilled in the art of deception. Through guile, a ready smile, a quick tongue, they
President Trump’s budget proposal this week would shake the federal government to its core if enacted, culling back numerous programs and expediting a historic contraction of the federal workforce. This would be the first time the government has executed cuts of this magnitude — and all at once — since the drawdown following World War II, economists and budget analysts said. The spending budget Trump is set to release Thursday will offer the clearest snapshot of his vision for the size and role of government. Aides say that the president sees a new Washington emerging from the budget process, one that prioritizes
The Congressional Budget Office’s (CBO) report on the House Republicans’ healthcare plan says the included provision to defund Planned Parenthood would result in “additional births stemming from the reduced access” to “services that help women avert pregnancies.”(Snip)The CBO report states: To the extent that there would be reductions in access to care under the legislation, they would affect services that help women avert pregnancies. The people most likely to experience reduced access to care would probably reside in areas without other health care clinics or medical practitioners who serve low-income populations. CBO projects that about 15 percent of those people would
American Bandstand hid the fact that many of its teenage dancers were gay, former stars of the show claim. Arlene Sullivan, now 74, is among them. Despite forming an on-screen partnership with Kenny Rossi, Sullivan knew she was a lesbian and ´came to terms´ with it with the support of co-stars. Many of the male dancers, some of whom were just 14, were also sleeping with each other but producers including Dick Clark were ´determined´ to keep it a secret. The dance hall show was a household favorite in the 1950s and 60s. Sullivan appeared on it between 1956 and
