WASHINGTON — Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-Ala.) had barely entered the room for his Attorney General confirmation hearing when he was met by protesters. A pair of men dressed as KKK members jumped up on their seats in the back of the Senate hearing room the moment Sessions walked in, adopting seemingly fake southern accents to troll the controversial senator. "Thank you so much for being here for the people. White people don´t get arrested. You can´t arrest me, I´m white! What do we have to do, wait for the inauguration? This is craziness!" one of the men said as he

Does anyone doubt had Hillary won, the Senate would be confirming Eric Holder again as Atty Gen today, and he´d be telling them to hurry up?

How in the bloody hell did they get past security into the hearing dressed up as the Klan and carrying signs? Coordination with the DNC?

Democrats dressed in Klan garb and spewing hate, sounds like an accurate depiction of history to me.

I guess the Klan would protest, given that he sent their leader to the electric chair.

You can see how they´d be upset.

I suppose it is to be expected, I mean heck Democrats have easy access to those ´uniforms´, it is a fundamental part of their history.

I want to know who´s senate office held their paraphernalia for them and distributed it. I know without help they would have never gotten that stuff past security.

You can take the Dems out of the KKK robes, but you can´t take the Klan out of the Democrats.

How do these haters get into the hearing room? I suspect the answer is this: They´ve been given visitors´ passes by their DEMOCRAT legislators.

There should be a penalty for any congressperson who has given admittance to a "protestor" who disrupts a hearing. E.g., take away that congressperson´s privilege of awarding the passes.

At a hearing some years ago, a Code Pink nutter approached Condi Rice with "bloody" hands, and got within inches of Secretary Rice. It was terrifying to watch.

I agree there needs to be a serious investigation on how these people got past security and WHO aided them. This is not one bit amusing. Ryan needs to get tough on some of these outlandious actions the Democrats are doing (the police "art" piece, for example.). We deserve better from our Congress.

You can bet that not one of them has a clue that the KKK is a wholly owned entity of the demonrat party. They see the word "Alabama" and the think "racist"

BALTIMORE — With just days until Donald J. Trump is sworn in as president, the Obama administration is making a last-minute push for police overhauls in two of the nation’s most violent cities, Baltimore and Chicago, where officers have been accused of routinely mistreating African-Americans. In Chicago, where a city task force appointed by Mayor Rahm Emanuel concluded that “the police have no regard for the sanctity of life when it comes to people of color,” the Justice Department is rushing to wrap up a sweeping investigation into police patterns and practices, prompted by the release of a chilling video

Sen. Cory Booker is set to make history this week when he testifies before the Judiciary Committee against Sen. Jeff Sessions´ nomination for attorney general in hearings that begin Tuesday morning. Booker´s office said Monday that the Senate historian had been unable to find any previous instance of a sitting senator testifying against a fellow sitting senator nominated for a Cabinet position. Noting that "I´m breaking a pretty long Senate tradition," the New Jersey Democrat said Monday on MSNBC´s "All In": "We´ve seen Jeff Sessions — that´s Senator Jeff Sessions — consistently voting against or speaking out against key ideals

San Francisco - Indigenous activists have set up camps in the Texas desert to fight a pipeline project there, the latest sign that the Standing Rock “water protector” movement is inspiring Native American-led environmental protests across the US. The Two Rivers camp, located south of Marfa near the border, has attracted dozens of demonstrators in its first week to protest the Trans-Pecos pipeline, a 148-mile project on track to transport fracked natural gas through the Big Bend region to Mexico. Citing concerns about damage to the environment and sacred indigenous sites, the camp parallels the high-profile effort to block the

Meryl Streep didn´t just take a dig at President-elect Donald Trump in her speech at last night´s Golden Globe Awards. The actress also dissed fans of football and MMA fighting. And UFC President Dana White is not happy about it. Calling the actress an "uppity, 80-year-old lady," White said he´s not surprised to find out Streep isn´t in the UFC´s top demographic. "So Hollywood is crawling with outsiders and foreigners," Streep said as she accepted the Cecil B. DeMille Award. After years of promising to "repeal and replace Obamacare" the Republican Party is finally in the position to follow through this year, and party leaders are beginning to understand the challenges that come with the promises they´ve made regarding the Affordable Care Act. One of the big issues the GOP is facing: many of the communities with the biggest increases in health insurance coverage since 2008 were Republican-leaning places that voted for President-elect Donald Trump. In December, a Wall Street Journal story outlined how many counties that voted heavily for Trump also saw increases in health insurance coverage greater than

Donald Trump has hit back at Meryl Streep calling her a ´Hillary lover´ after her Golden Globes acceptance speech took aim at the president-elect. Streep, who was honored with the Cecil B. DeMille lifetime achievement award on Sunday, slammed Trump in front of a room of stunned Hollywood stars. She said the moment he mocked and humiliated a disabled reporter ´broke her heart´ as Streep labelled it the year´s most stunning performance. Turning attention away from her and toward Donald J. Trump, Meryl Streep used her acceptance speech for the Cecil B. DeMille Award at the Golden Globes to call out the president-elect for appearing to mock a disabled New York Times reporter in 2015, and warned that a free press would need to be defended. Ms. Streep campaigned for Hillary Clinton in the 2016 election. Some conservative commentators immediately criticized her decision to bring politics so vividly into the show. But the room roundly applauded her remarks, which included a plea to support the Committee to Protect Journalists.

Professor Michael Eric Dyson thinks that white people should have an ‘Individual Reparations Account’ to make donations to black institutions and individuals. (Snip) I agree with reparations, but maybe this is my white privilege speaking: I can’t imagine actually doing that. That is what I meant by an I.R.A.: an individual reparations account. You ain’t got to ask the government, you don’t have to ask your local politician — this is what you, an individual, conscientious, “woke” citizen can do. But charity can’t be the end of it, right? She is among the most famous and easily recognized women in the world, but first lady Michelle Obama feels "invisible" when she steps off her official stage, according to her best friend and ally in the White House. And the reason is a remarkable one considering that she and her husband, President Obama, are America´s first African-American presidential couple. According to top adviser Valerie Jarrett, Obama is invisible because she is black. In her new book about the importance of black mothers in America and how they walk a tightrope in society, White House correspondent April Ryan revealed that Jarrett

The Gold Star father who blasted Donald Trump at the Democratic convention this summer is returning to the national stage this week, firing off a letter demanding the Senate reject Sen. Jeff Sessions, Mr. Trump’s attorney general nominee. Khizr Khan, the Pakistan-born father of a U.S. Army captain killed in the Iraq war, said his son’s service was a rejection of people like Mr. Sessions, who he accused of associating with racially divisive and ‘intensely anti-Muslim” groups. Mr. Khan also said Mr. Sessions has defended proposals “that would single Muslim immigrants out for discriminatory treatment on the basis of their religious beliefs.” “My
