Gunfire has been heard outside a Turkish police station as suicide bombers cause mass casualties in Kabul. Two loud explosions rocked the Afghan capital killing an unconfirmed number of people, while local media in Turkey say a terrorist has been shot dead in an attempted attack in Gaziantep. Two suspected accomplices are believed to have fled the scene, the station said, citing local journalists. The attacker shot at police who returned fire at the assailants who may have been planning a suicide bombing, NTV reported. Several ambulances are said to have been set to the area. Turkey is on edge following a spate of

Clearly ISIS followers and admirers across the globe are obeying the call to attack the public where they can.

And Western idiot-leaders keep silly smiles on their faces, humming nah-nah-nah-nah to keep from hearing objections from the public at risk.

Think twice, Hillary: Former New York

Hillary Clinton has another reason not to run for mayor of New York – longtime nemesis Rudy Giuliani is hinting that her reentry into the political arena would cause the resumption of investigations against her. Giuliani got asked about Clinton´s future prospects after Newsmax reported on aides and donors floating the failed presidential candidate as a potential candidate for his old job. ´Youv´e gotta be kidding,´ Giuliani told ´Fox and Friends´ on Tuesday. ´No – not again not that story again,´ he added. Then, playing out the scenario, Giuliani said: ´I don´t´ know – I guess all of the investigations

France is trying to use Brexit to take over

France could replace Britain as the leading European power in Nato after Brexit, it emerged today. A briefing paper by the military think tank the Royal United Services Institute said there is ´some discussion´ within Nato over the future of Britain holding the No 2 position in the organisation. France is understood to want to exploit Britain´s decision to leave the EU, arguing that the deputy leadership of Nato should be an EU member state. Britain has held the deputy supreme allied commander position (DSACEUR) almost entirely since 1951, while the organisation has always been led by an American. A French military delegation visited

FORESTVILLE, Calif. (AP) — Northern California and Nevada braced for another powerful storm after getting lashed by downpours that flooded roads, homes and vineyards and toppled a storied giant sequoia. Parts of Northern California were soaked by more than a foot of rain over a 72-hour period that ended early Monday, forcing hundreds of people to evacuate and leaving thousands without power. The heavy rains forced rivers out of their banks and toppled trees, among them the famed “Pioneer Cabin” in Calaveras Big Trees State Park that had a drive-thru tunnel carved into its base more than a century ago.

Vice president-elect Mike Pence made his official D.C. debut on Monday afternoon, flying into the Washington area from Indiana on an official plane with his family - and their beloved pets. Arriving at Joint Base Andrews in Prince George´s County, Maryland, Pence, 57, his wife Karen, 58, and their daughter Charlotte, 22, made their way off the Air Force plane into the cold, blustery weather. But the most important passengers were the family´s three pets: cats Oreo and Pickle, and rabbit Marlon Bundo. Marlon was taken off the plane in his cage by aides, while the two cats were carried off in Mrs

President Obama is leaving the White House with majority disapproval among members of the military for his role as commander in chief, according to a new survey at the tail end of his presidency. Obama´s move steep reduction of U.S. forces stationed in Afghanistan after a troop surge, and his withdrawal of forces from Iraq in keeping with a status of forces agreement, doesn´t appear to have carried support in the the military. Forty three per cent said the U.S. should deploy more troops to combat zones, while 32 per cent favored reductions, according to the poll by Military Times and the

Hillary Clinton returns to Washington – and to the site of her last government gig – to celebrate the completion of new museum space at the State Department. Clinton will be joined by other secretaries at an opening ceremony for the U.S. Diplomacy Center Pavilion, a 40,000-foot addition to the Foggy Bottom compound, where members of the public can learn about American diplomacy through artifacts and simulations. One of the four exhibition halls will be named after Clinton who, according to the Washington Post, revived the project when she was at the helm of the State Department, tasking Clinton donor and pal

Donald Trump has hit back at Meryl Streep calling her a ´Hillary lover´ after her Golden Globes acceptance speech took aim at the president-elect. Streep, who was honored with the Cecil B. DeMille lifetime achievement award on Sunday, slammed Trump in front of a room of stunned Hollywood stars. She said the moment he mocked and humiliated a disabled reporter ´broke her heart´ as Streep labelled it the year´s most stunning performance. Trump told the New York Times early Monday that he had not seen Streep´s speech or the Golden Globes coverage. Trump told the New York Times early Monday that he

Turning attention away from her and toward Donald J. Trump, Meryl Streep used her acceptance speech for the Cecil B. DeMille Award at the Golden Globes to call out the president-elect for appearing to mock a disabled New York Times reporter in 2015, and warned that a free press would need to be defended. Ms. Streep campaigned for Hillary Clinton in the 2016 election. Some conservative commentators immediately criticized her decision to bring politics so vividly into the show. But the room roundly applauded her remarks, which included a plea to support the Committee to Protect Journalists.

Professor Michael Eric Dyson thinks that white people should have an ‘Individual Reparations Account’ to make donations to black institutions and individuals. (Snip) I agree with reparations, but maybe this is my white privilege speaking: I can’t imagine actually doing that. That is what I meant by an I.R.A.: an individual reparations account. You ain’t got to ask the government, you don’t have to ask your local politician — this is what you, an individual, conscientious, “woke” citizen can do. But charity can’t be the end of it, right? The Koch brothers gave the United Negro College Fund $25 million, but I

She is among the most famous and easily recognized women in the world, but first lady Michelle Obama feels "invisible" when she steps off her official stage, according to her best friend and ally in the White House. And the reason is a remarkable one considering that she and her husband, President Obama, are America´s first African-American presidential couple. According to top adviser Valerie Jarrett, Obama is invisible because she is black. In her new book about the importance of black mothers in America and how they walk a tightrope in society, White House correspondent April Ryan revealed that Jarrett

The Gold Star father who blasted Donald Trump at the Democratic convention this summer is returning to the national stage this week, firing off a letter demanding the Senate reject Sen. Jeff Sessions, Mr. Trump’s attorney general nominee. Khizr Khan, the Pakistan-born father of a U.S. Army captain killed in the Iraq war, said his son’s service was a rejection of people like Mr. Sessions, who he accused of associating with racially divisive and ‘intensely anti-Muslim” groups. Mr. Khan also said Mr. Sessions has defended proposals “that would single Muslim immigrants out for discriminatory treatment on the basis of their religious beliefs.” “My

Sunday on NBC’s “Meet the Press,” Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) said any Republican celebrating Russia’s hacking into the 2016 presidential election were “making a huge mistake” and described them as a “political hack.” Graham said, “To my Republican friends who are gleeful, you’re making a huge mistake. When when Wikileaks released information during the Bush years about the Iraq War that was embarrassing to the administration, that put our troops at risk most Democrats condemned it, some celebrated it. Most Republicans are condemning what Russia did and to those who are gleeful it you’re a political hack. You’re not a

Barbra Streisand is standing with Meryl Streep, who used her acceptance speech at Sunday´s Golden Globe Awards to criticize Donald Trump for lacking empathy and infamously mocking a disabled reporter in 2015. A day after Streep delivered her blistering rebuke of the president-elect, Streisand called in to Hardball With Chris Matthews and expressed her solidarity. I thought that [Streep] said what she said beautifully, Streisand remarked. Regarding Trump´s ridiculing of journalist Serge F. Kovaleski 14 months ago, Streisand added, I completely agree with Meryl. It was a heartbreaking moment and so beneath the dignity of the presidency, let alone any respectful person. What we need more in this world
