At one point in President Obama´s interview with ABC News that aired over the weekend, George Stephanopoulos noted that "the Democratic Party got pretty hollowed out on your watch, about 1,000 seats lost in the Congress, Senate, governors, state houses." Then he asked: "Is that on you?" It was a good question. Since Obama took office, Democrats´ fortunes have plummeted. The party lost 900 seats in state legislatures, 12 governorships, 69 House seats and 13 Senate seats. Clearly, whatever leadership Obama provided, it wasn´t helping Democrats connect with voters across the country. So what was Obama´s response? At first, he
Does anyone expect this "Cool" one to except any blame. In his interview he even pulled GWB into his mess. Can´t wait for his speech tonight, lying once again about all he has accomplished. The man talks with a Fork Tongue!
Yeah but he really did stimulate the economy. Probably spent over three billion on fund raisers, vacations for himself & family and golf. I don´t know about you but that stimulates the hxll out of me!!!
If it were not for failures, the Clown Prince would be leaving no fingerprints at all on this Earth. The democrats own you, Stinky, and their failure is a direct result of your stupid attempts at dictatorship. Having the IRS enforce your failed attempt at health care control and assessing a fine for not paying was the final straw for me. I have fought for this country for too many years to have a skinny, brain dead, arrogant Kenyan give me orders and tell me I have to do something.
Just skating through, kicking the can down the road at great cost to the nation, its well being and its status in the world as the last standard bearer of economic and moral decency in the world.
We are not yet ´like every other country´ wallowing in graft and corrupt politicians taking advantage of people yearning to breathe free yet, but with no pushback from those should have exposed it, we have been severely weakened.
He failed to take us down, but he made a tremendous effort attempting to take away our remaining modesty and virtue.
I wish people would stop trying to blame Obambi for stuff. He has been just too busy saving the world and making sure its a better [lace for me and you. We are lucky to have a Messiah like Obambi. He is just so perfect. I know cause he tells us he is all the time.
Business started crumbling the day this guy opened his trap standing behind a little podium with the seal of the Office of the president Elect attached to it. Remember this. Hussien was saying then how business was going to be taxed more. And pay for health care. Before the jerk was sworn in in a Koran, the economy started to tank. And the media and hussien blamed GWB. He takes no blame. I just wish he would move back to kenya
His comments are absolutely cringe-worthy. He is one of those people you meet at a country club charity event who shoots his mouth off constantly saying the most inappropriate things and his poor assistants are constantly tugging on his arm trying to shut him up. But he just can´t help himself. People keep walking away and trying to avoid him because he seems to effervesce nausea due to his pitiful inability to see the grotesque embarrassment he is causing everyone in the room, particularly to his oblivious self.
And so it starts, the interviews, the self analysis, the water thin excuses. Many more to come, all with slightly different takes on failure, but never touching on reality´s truth.
The guy will have lots of free time to read all the brutal, accusatory articles that also are going to be written. His reaction will probably be more public appearances searching for the love. Michelle, bitter bunny she, won´t be much help.
Fake president interviewed by an equally fake journalist. At least Obama had his boots cleaned by Stephanopoulos. Although New Zealand immigration authorities may question shoe polish on George´s tongue.
Sadly, this is what we are told is news by ABC and their media ilk.
BO is dangerously mentally ill. It is fortunate we are not worse off that we are. What is scary is that the remnants of the dem party and the media supported him unflinchingly.
The backfire in 2010 was directly linked to BOCare and other dem overreach. Only a crazy person could not see that. Now, if you are a dem, you might see that as misguided and unfair. I think the dems got off light in 2010 and it still baffles me that BO got reelected. However, the CAUSE of the shift in the choice of the electorate was in the White House (and it wasn´t Biden) and the dems in Congress.
This blindness to reality is something that anyone that has dealings with BO in the future should WELL remember.
Economics: For those not in the know, this weekend marks the gala 60th anniversary of the formation of what eventually became the European Union. Celebrate while you can, because it might not make it to 61. The European Union will "celebrate" its 60th birthday officially on Saturday in a sad effort to make itself look still relevant. We don´t mean to be snide, but it has precious little to celebrate. Starting small, the 1957 Treaty of Rome created what was then called the European Economic Community from just six countries. It should have stayed small. From those modest beginnings, it has turned into
Fake News: If you wonder why so many of the juiciest anti-Trump stories turn out to be frauds these days, you need a lesson in economics. The insatiable demand for tales that embarrass the president is creating its own supply. Case in point is the most recent KittenFeed story. On Tuesday, the New York Observer ran an exclusive piece with the headline: "Trump Sics Lawyers on Teen for Making Silly Site Where Kittens Punch Him." It claimed that a 17-year-old girl in San Francisco had received two cease-and-desist letters from the Trump Organization. A multitude of other news sites, bloggers and social
We know there are compelling arguments for a complete repeal of Obamacare, as senators such as Rand Paul have urged. We also know that President Trump is right to urge Congress to take half a loaf on reform for now, in what´s called Obamacare Lite, rather than nothing at all. But has anyone taken a look at the activities of the left, which favors a full preservation of the nightmarish Obamacare status quo? The ‘Next 48 hours will be all hands on deck,’ bellowed House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, describing the left´s cavalcade of protests, phone banking, ads and this being the
MOSCOW — Russian interference in the American elections last year was downright subtle compared to what we’ve seen this week in the run-up to French presidential elections. The two-round vote on April 23 and May 7 could change politics, defense, and the economy in Europe more radically—and more in Russia’s favor—even than the chaos spawned by Donald Trump’s iffy triumph in the United States. And on Friday, Putin endorsed his candidate: far-right-wing, anti-European-Union, anti-NATO, anti-immigrant, anti-American, pro-Trump candidate Marine Le Pen. Of course, Putin said, “We don´t want to influence in any way the events going on [in France],” but his government received
House Republicans scrapped a vote on their health care replacement plan on Friday after defections from both the right and center that made it clear the bill would not pass. President Trump tried to spin the setback as a defeat for Democrats who wouldn´t cross the aisle to support the bill — despite not making any entreaties to the minority party. Trump — who is the first president to enter office without any political or legislative experience — did seem to admit there was a bit of a learning curve when it came to such a complex issue. "This was an interesting
Democrats took a victory lap Friday after President Donald Trump requested that House Speaker Paul Ryan pull the Republican bill to replace the Affordable Care Act, effectively ending the party´s quest to replace what is known as "Obamacare." The GOP-backed bill, the American Health Care Act, did not have enough Republican votes to pass the House. An agreement could not be met between Trump and House leadership, and moderate and more conservative representatives on what the bill should contain. In a statement shortly after the bill was pulled, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer said, "So much for the ´Art of the Deal,´
Health Reform: Friday´s decision to pull the American Health Care Act from the House floor because it lacked enough votes to pass was a culmination of months of bad decisions, poor planning, and terrible messaging by the GOP leadership in the House. This failure undermines not only the party´s credibility, but President Trump´s purported ability to "make great deals." Worse, it emboldens the left-wing "resistance." Back in early December, we warned in this space that the Republican´s ObamaCare repeal effort was "off to a bad start." That was when House Speaker Paul Ryan was talking up a "repeal and delay" plan that
One of the strangest turns in the story of Russia and the Trump campaign has been the recent outrage from Democrats over politicization of the investigation. This all centers on Chairman Devin Nunes, the Republican who is leading the House Intelligence Committee´s investigation. He was an adviser to the Trump presidential transition. The White House asked him last month to talk to a reporter to rebut news stories that alleged Trump associates had many contacts with Russian intelligence officers. On Wednesday, Nunes briefed the president about new information he had regarding dozens of widely disseminated intelligence reports on the Trump transition.
Rep. Louis Gohmert´s calls for a new investigation on the Russian ties of John Podesta may just shed light on why the former Hillary Clinton campaign chairman´s emails were hacked at all. Far from being an effort to take down Clinton, it looks as though Podesta may have been a pawn in a Kremlin power struggle. As there´s little political hay to be made from that, it´s not the most convenient "narrative" for Podesta. To hear Podesta and the rest of the Democrats tell it, Russians hacked the U.S. election and released his emails via Wikileaks because they were in cahoots
Domestic Spying: Rep. Devin Nunes, chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, says that the Obama administration surveilled Donald Trump´s transition aides and possibly Trump himself following November´s election. If true, it warrants a major investigation. "I recently confirmed that on numerous occasions the intelligence community ... collected information about U.S. citizens involved in the Trump transition," Nunes told reporters. Nunes immediately came under intense criticism from congressional Democrats for his revelations. What´s both hilarious and sad is that these are the very same Democrats who have been nearly silent as a series of illegal leaks from the intelligence bureaucracy have made their
Supreme Court: After Judge Neil Gorsuch spent 20 hours demonstrating that he is abundantly qualified to be a Supreme Court Justice, Democrats announced plans to filibuster his nomination. Good luck with that. By all accounts, Gorsuch put in a stellar performance in his confirmation hearing. Even the New York Times conceded that "if Democrats harbored any hope of raising doubts about Judge Gorsuch among Republicans, they came nowhere close." But as soon as the hearing ended, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer announced that he was going to filibuster the nomination anyway. Gorsuch, Schumer said, "was groomed by the Federalist Society and has shown
Things have gone badly for retailers recently. How badly? As their shares plunge and sales tumble, venerable names such as J.C. Penney, Sears, Kmart, Macy´s and others have expressed doubt over whether they can even survive. And, yes, the internet is to blame. IBD´s own department-store retail index shows just how bad things have gotten. On Dec. 2 of last year, that bellwether index for the big, mall-anchor retailers closed at 1,132.10, a recent high. Since then, however, that index has plunged nearly 36%, a sign of an industry in deep distress. That a major U.S. industry could lose more than
House Republican leaders abruptly pulled a Republican rewrite of the nation’s health-care system from consideration on Friday, a dramatic acknowledgment that they are so far unable to repeal the Affordable Care Act. “We just pulled it,” President Trump told The Washington Post in a telephone interview. The decision came a day after President Trump delivered an ultimatum to lawmakers — and represented multiple failures for the new president and House Speaker Paul D. Ryan (R-Wis.). The decision means the Affordable Care Act remains in place, at least for now, and a major GOP campaign promise goes unfulfilled. It also casts
Chelsea Clinton´s chief of staff complained on Thursday that her boss just can´t catch a break. Bari Lurie is Clinton´s chief of staff at the Clinton Foundation, where the former first daughter is vice chair. Lurie took to Twitter on Thursday to lament that Clinton, like her mother, failed Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton, "never gets a break." (Tweet) The tweet included a link to a op-ed published Thursday in the Los Angeles Times, titled "Just like her mother, Chelsea Clinton never gets a break." The article´s author, Ann Friedman, defends Clinton from her critics, arguing that she and her
Nearly three months after the Trump clan moved into their new posh Washington neighborhood, neighbors of Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner have expressed their fury over the presidential family´s lack of community etiquette that is ´ruining´ the suburb. Residents have complained their new neighbors have been hogging parking on an already crowded street and leaving trash bags rotting on the curb. A big part of the complaint: a huge security presence, with even a trip to the playground requiring three vans. They have groused that sidewalks have been closed, public parking overrun and that the family and their staff can´t
Republican officials in Congress and the White House are now openly discussing finding a GOP replacement to Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI) as Speaker of the House, after Ryan failed to pass the American Health Care Act out of the House and misled the public and President Donald Trump when he promised repeatedly the bill would pass. Ryan was caught on an audio file from October—obtained by Breitbart News and published a couple weeks ago—saying he is “not going to defend Donald Trump—not now, not in the future.” While the audio file does not make the comments clear, Ryan’s staff later claimed
Democrats plan to filibuster Neil Gorsuch’s nomination for the Supreme Court, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-New York) said Thursday. Speaking on the Senate floor Thursday morning, Schumer said Gorsuch -- who is three days into his confirmation hearings with the Senate Judiciary Committee -- will need 60 votes to be confirmed. Currently, the Senate has 52 Republicans and 48 Democrats. “After careful deliberation, I have concluded that I cannot support judge Neil Gorsuch’s nomination to the Supreme Court,” he said. “His nomination will have a cloture vote. He will have to earn 60 votes for confirmation. My vote will
In the last three months of the Obama presidency, significant personal information from and about the Trump transition was collected and widely disseminated at intelligence agencies, according to House Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes. Dozens of intelligence reports provided to Nunes by an unnamed whistleblower were floating around during the sensitive transition period following the election, he said. The information collection itself may have technically been legal, but the failure to properly mask the information “alarmed” the California congressman, who notified the White House of the surveillance and dissemination of information on Wednesday afternoon. Many of the reporters present didn’t seem to
BRUSSELS—Republican Senator John McCain revealed he hasn’t met the President Donald Trump in person since he took office, and he urged Trump to reach out to his opponents—Democratic and otherwise—ala Ronald Reagan if he wants to repeal Obamacare. “Do some outreach. Get to know some of these Democratic leaders,” he said. “You can find common ground.” McCain said he’d met Trump “some years ago” when he was a businessman, but had not met him since. McCain said he did speak “almost daily” to National Security Adviser Lt. Gen. H.R. McMaster and Defense Secretary Jim Mattis, however. “He doesn’t seem to
Last night on his eponymous Fox News program, Tucker Carlson interviewed David Moyse, an attorney hired to defend 18 year-old Henry Sanchez-Milian, who is in this country illegally, against a charge of rape against a 14 year old girl in a bathroom at a Rockville, MD, high school. Moyse is one of those youngish (in his 30s) lawyers who gets himself on lists of up-and-comers, like this one, and is a name partner in a criminal defense firm.In going on TV to make the case for his client, Counselor Moyse found himself being cross-examined and saying something he soon had
Donald Trump had heard enough about policy and process. It was Thursday afternoon and members of the House Freedom Caucus were peppering the president with wonkish concerns about the American Health Care Act—the language that would leave Obamacare’s “essential health benefits” in place, the community rating provision that limited what insurers could charge certain patients, and whether the next two steps of Speaker Paul Ryan’s master plan were even feasible—when Trump decided to cut them off."Forget about the little "stuff", Trump said, according to multiple sources in the room. "Let´s focus on the big picture here."The group of roughly 30
We live in a time of “fake news” awareness, so you’d think that someone at the Los Angeles Times would know better than to publish a headline like this: “Just like her mother, Chelsea Clinton never gets a break” Let’s leave the aside the reference to Hillary Clinton, who magically was able to turn $1,000 into $100,000 in cattle futures with no regulatory consequence and delete 30,000 evidentiary emails without prosecution. Or a break. Chelsea is being groomed for political power, and all the powers of modern propaganda are being mobilized to convince voters that she has some claim to
(Video)Maryland’s governor said Friday he cannot promise parents of children in Montgomery County schools, where a freshman high school student was allegedly raped by two older teenagers, that their children will be safe. Republican Gov. Larry Hogan’s remarks came as the assault last Thursday by two immigrants, at least one of whom is in the U.S. illegally, has become a flashpoint for parents worried that the county’s “sanctuary” status for illegal immigrants exposes their school children to danger.“I’m not sure I can give assurances that their children will be safe,” he said. What he did give assurances about, however, was that he
Brexit was caused in part by climate change, former US Vice-President Al Gore has said, warning that extreme weather is creating political instability “the world will find extremely difficult to deal with”. Mr Gore, speaking at an event in which he previewed a sequel to his landmark 2006 documentary, An Inconvenient Truth, said the “principal” cause of the Syrian Civil War had been the worst drought in 900 years, which forced 1.5 million people to move from the countryside to the cities. There they met a similar number of Iraqis who had fled the conflict in their homeland, creating powder keg conditions
