New York Times Runs Front-Page
Ad for Jeff Sessions

National Review Online, by Mark Krikorian

I didn’t think I could be more favorably disposed toward Sen. Jeff Sessions’s nomination as Attorney General until I read today’s front page New York Times profile, published in anticipation of tomorrow’s confirmation hearing. You get the impression the reporters themselves concluded that the left-wing racism smears are BS and just wrote a straight-news piece on him. The long article is practically an ad for the #ConfirmSessions effort. Pardon the long string of excerpts, but they’re all good: a devout Methodist and an Eagle Scout who will soon celebrate a golden wedding anniversary with his college sweetheart. … he is

"Any vote against his confirmation based on disagreement over policy would be a mark of shame."

But that is exactly what dems have declared they will do, vote against Trump´s nominees, especially for the SCOTUS. Dems have well proven they have NO principles and NO shame. They will do ANYTHING to get what they want and what they want now is to delegitimize Trump in any and all ways possible. The media will eagerly help them.

I have to laugh Senator Cory Booker is going to give Sessions the third degree of questioning Session integrity. Isn´t this the same lame Mayor of Newark NJ who did nothing but lie about saving a young mans life, buying pampers for the needy, shoveling snow for people and saving people lives that were caught in a house fire. All were proven to be lies. All these lies while Newark was burning. I think someone should question Cory´s credentials.

Senator Jeff Sessions is one of the finest men in Congress but because he is a Southern white man it is presumed by leftists that he is a racist, bigot and a homophobe. As a Southern white man I despise such stereotypes. This Borking of good conservatives with ad hominem attacks by Democrats and the msm needs to be confronted and destroyed. Perhaps the NYT article is a turning point but I doubt it. It´s only because the truth is now available by from alternative media like Breitbart and others.

I had the misfortune of having to listen to this blowhard Booker at my grandson´s graduation at George Washington Univ. in May. I knew as soon as he opened his mouth, he was in campaign mode. He rambled on and on and tried the "preacher" approach but it was a cold day, windy and the graduates were restless. He has a huge ego like his boss, Obama. The democrats are losers in every case.

Senator Corey Booker is shameless.

A former AND feckless Newark, NJ Mayor, never lived in New Jersey, preferring instead the Village in NYC.

Senator Booker rented a house in Jersey, but it remained empty.

Booker and that rented house have much in common.

Bring it on, Senator Booker. Your political career is finished.

Photo in this article of Sessions attending the awarding of a medal to honor the Selma marchers. He was one of the sponsors. In this right upper corner of the pic is the pathetic Sen. Cory Booker. Hope this photo is blown up and shown at the hearing today after Booker makes an arse out of himself.

The NYT publishing truth!? Note this in large red letters on the calendar.

What next, Obama speaking truth?

Ok, impossible. Sorry, I lost my head for a second there.

Today is the Day Against Denial, where climate change activists around the country are protesting President-elect Donald Trump’s cabinet picks. Activists will supposedly converge on U.S. Senate offices and demand that their senators “reject Donald Trump’s reckless climate-denying cabinet nominees” particularly secretary of State nominee Rex Tillerson, Environmental Protection Agency administrator Scott Pruitt, and Energy secretary pick Rick Perry (if you’re not sure what a denier is, I just wrote about it here for The Hill). Day Against Denial is being organized by 350.org, an environmental group founded by climate change lunatic Bill McKibben. He thinks we should actually declare war

The long, drawn out battles surround the Freddie Gray trials in Baltimore may seem like a distant memory at this point. Much of daily life in the city has returned to normal, even though the murder rate stayed stubbornly high at 318 for last year. (Shockingly, that’s still down from the 344 they rang up the year before, but far higher than 2014’s level of 211, which was far more typical of the past decade.) With all the trials against the police officers involved in Gray’s arrest and subsequent death having failed or been dismissed, the dust has largely settled.

U.S. prosecutors on Thursday announced that about $20 million found under a mattress in a Massachusetts apartment had been seized after a Brazilian man was arrested for laundering money linked to a multi-billion-dollar global fraud. Federal prosecutors in Boston charged Cleber Rene Rizerio Rocha, 28, with conspiring to commit money laundering in a case connected to the investigation of TelexFree Inc, which promoted itself as an internet telecom company but prosecutors say was actually a pyramid scheme. Rocha was detained following a court hearing, prosecutors said. His lawyer did not immediately respond to a request for comment. The arrest stemmed from an investigation

MEXICO CITY — An official working at the United States consulate in Guadalajara, the second-largest city in Mexico, was shot and wounded on Friday evening by a young man who stalked him in the parking lot of a shopping mall and then fired as he drove out. The State Department official, who was not identified, was in stable condition after the shooting, a spokeswoman from the United States Embassy in Mexico City said on Saturday. Neither embassy officials nor the Mexican attorney general’s office commented on a possible motive. Guadalajara is the capital of Jalisco, the headquarters of the New

After recent tutorials advising lone jihadists how to commit knife and vehicle attacks, the Islamic State´s latest issue of Rumiyah magazine counsels terrorists on waging arson attacks -- with a Dallas megachurch suggested as a possible target. The October issue of ISIS´ Rumiyah -- which is published in multiple languages including English, Russian, German, Croatian, Pashto, Urdu and Indonesian -- instructed lone jihadists to launch random knife attacks, with a warning to pick a suitable blade for the job. The November issue moved on to a different type of lone attack tutorial -- or "just terror" attacks, as ISIS calls them --

The huge challenge of covering Trump fairly

The approaching presidency of Donald Trump poses daunting challenges for the journalists covering him, not merely because he has described them as dishonest, low-life scum or because of anxiety over whether the new administration will adhere to basic norms of access, such as daily briefings and regular news conferences. The president-elect’s behavior presents fundamental questions, recurring daily if not hourly, about the best way to serve our audience. These are technical issues of craft, ordinarily of interest only to journalists themselves. In the Age of Trump, they are imbued with real-world consequences. Should news organizations depart from customary restraint and

Donald Trump has hit back at Meryl Streep calling her a ´Hillary lover´ after her Golden Globes acceptance speech took aim at the president-elect. Streep, who was honored with the Cecil B. DeMille lifetime achievement award on Sunday, slammed Trump in front of a room of stunned Hollywood stars. She said the moment he mocked and humiliated a disabled reporter ´broke her heart´ as Streep labelled it the year´s most stunning performance. Trump told the New York Times early Monday that he had not seen Streep´s speech or the Golden Globes coverage. Trump told the New York Times early Monday that he

Turning attention away from her and toward Donald J. Trump, Meryl Streep used her acceptance speech for the Cecil B. DeMille Award at the Golden Globes to call out the president-elect for appearing to mock a disabled New York Times reporter in 2015, and warned that a free press would need to be defended. Ms. Streep campaigned for Hillary Clinton in the 2016 election. Some conservative commentators immediately criticized her decision to bring politics so vividly into the show. But the room roundly applauded her remarks, which included a plea to support the Committee to Protect Journalists.

Professor Michael Eric Dyson thinks that white people should have an ‘Individual Reparations Account’ to make donations to black institutions and individuals. (Snip) I agree with reparations, but maybe this is my white privilege speaking: I can’t imagine actually doing that. That is what I meant by an I.R.A.: an individual reparations account. You ain’t got to ask the government, you don’t have to ask your local politician — this is what you, an individual, conscientious, “woke” citizen can do. But charity can’t be the end of it, right? Barbra Streisand is standing with Meryl Streep, who used her acceptance speech at Sunday´s Golden Globe Awards to criticize Donald Trump for lacking empathy and infamously mocking a disabled reporter in 2015. A day after Streep delivered her blistering rebuke of the president-elect, Streisand called in to Hardball With Chris Matthews and expressed her solidarity. I thought that [Streep] said what she said beautifully, Streisand remarked. Regarding Trump´s ridiculing of journalist Serge F. Kovaleski 14 months ago, Streisand added, I completely agree with Meryl. It was a heartbreaking moment and so beneath the dignity of the presidency, let alone any respectful person. She is among the most famous and easily recognized women in the world, but first lady Michelle Obama feels "invisible" when she steps off her official stage, according to her best friend and ally in the White House. And the reason is a remarkable one considering that she and her husband, President Obama, are America´s first African-American presidential couple. According to top adviser Valerie Jarrett, Obama is invisible because she is black. In her new book about the importance of black mothers in America and how they walk a tightrope in society, White House correspondent April Ryan revealed that Jarrett

The Gold Star father who blasted Donald Trump at the Democratic convention this summer is returning to the national stage this week, firing off a letter demanding the Senate reject Sen. Jeff Sessions, Mr. Trump’s attorney general nominee. Khizr Khan, the Pakistan-born father of a U.S. Army captain killed in the Iraq war, said his son’s service was a rejection of people like Mr. Sessions, who he accused of associating with racially divisive and ‘intensely anti-Muslim” groups. Mr. Khan also said Mr. Sessions has defended proposals “that would single Muslim immigrants out for discriminatory treatment on the basis of their religious beliefs.” “My
