Trump Derangement Syndrome
derails the Golden Globes

Hollywood was caught in the act of being itself last night: arrogant, ignorant, mentally ill, and disdainful of the American public that elected Donald Trump our next President of the United States. The occasion for this hatefest was a supposedly gala event, the Golden Globe Awards, in which the relatively few members of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association (many of them stringers for impecunious overseas media outlets) vote on awards that are considered precursors of the Academy Awards. The HFPA makes a lot of money off the broadcast, and rumors that individual members sell their votes are so common that

Time to ditch the "entertainment industry" and curl up with a good book. We are paying to be disabused. Don´t put money in their pockets.

Back when the news media did some actual reporting, they attempted to work out who and where the Golden Globes voters were.

The ´foreign press association´ is a smokescreen for the fact that their so-called voters are often not press members and, in numerous cases, were named to the association as essentially a meaningless social trinket.

In the usual fashion, the Globes organization were caught out by this impertinent search for facts and locked their doors and pulled their blinds.

The reality is the Globes are meaningless fluff rendered even more meaningless and fluffy by dint of their voter base.

These were my favorites last year:

“13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi”
“The Young Messiah”
“Risen”
“The Man Who Knew Infinity”
“Hillary Clinton’s America”
“Clinton Cash” on-line
“The Anthropoid”
“Allied”

An expose about the Golden Globes a few years ago revealed it to be a sham, masquerading as an objective award process.

In reality, it is a process in which the "stars" and their agents lobby the obscure foreign "press" members, some of whom have press cards but who have never written anything, to vote for them, and part of the deal are "swag" bags" containing hundreds and sometimes thousands of dollars in "swag" i.e. bribes that are given out to the members of the "foreign press" who vote for the Golden Globe awards.

Can´t really be interested by any of these vapid deluded script readers going on and on at self-congratulatory industry marketing events. The only ´protest´ that ever made sense was Richard (I´m hiding a gerbil) Gere lamenting Chinese occupation and rape of Tibet. He was shouted down by his communistic peers.

From Martin Scorsese´s great movie The Aviator (substitute Trump for Hughes, Streep for Hepburn):

Howard Hughes: Actresses are cheap in this town, darlin´. And I got a lot of money.

Katharine Hepburn: Please, Howard, this is beneath you.

Howard Hughes: No no. This is exactly me. You come over here out of the blue and tell me you´re leaving me for someone else and you have the nerve to expect graciousness?

Katharine Hepburn: I expected a little maturity, I expect you to face this situation like an adul...

Howard Hughes: DON´T TALK DOWN TO ME! Don´t you EVER talk down to me! You are a movie star, nothing more!

P.S.—I’m so sick and tired of poorly educated, usually high school graduates or drop outs, often drug, sex, and drink addled Hollywood “entertainers,” who believe that by virtue of being able to sing, dance, play an instrument, read a script, or write a play, they have somehow become “enlightened beings,” who have been transported to a higher moral and intellectual plane, acquired a superior understanding of all subjects, and a moral vision superior to all the rest of us, along with a mission to lecture all of us misguided “little people” on what to think, how to run our lives, what our values should be, what to eat, how to raise and educate our children, how to vote, etc.

As most of us know, Trump was NOT imitating, mocking a disabled reporter. It has been shown many, many times on video that Trump uses that exact gesture to accentuate some of his zingers on countless, perfectly abled targets. Youtube has the video up now.

It just so happens this particular reporter has a cleft hand, which sometimes creeps into DjT´s trembly, shaky arm gestures aimed at someone else.

So, sorry, Meryl, your premise is based upon a lie.

What´s new.....

I´m hoping the ratings for the show plunge to a new low. Not that the actors will care, as they get paid and attended to no matter whether their movies bomb. But there are people in Hollywood who really do care about money, and when they see that their stars aren´t bringing it in, the stars will be out. Don´t support Hollywood long enough and we´ll see some change.

Hollywood is just a mutual admiration society, who mistakenly thinks that everyone loves them and agrees with their viewpoint. Talk about living in a bubble! They can´t even grasp the concept that they are biting the hand that feeds them.

It is sad when an over-the-hill actress tries to stay relevant, when her salad days are gone...

Here is an anonymous comment from the internet:

"Dear Hollywood celebrities,

I know this will be difficult to understand, but please hang in there. I appreciate the laughter you bring me. I am thankful that so many of you dedicate your lives to entertain us regular folk. Some of you make us laugh, some of you make us cry. But please understand, you only exist in my world to entertain me. When I´m in the mood to watch your movies or listen to your songs, I open the box so you can dance for me. When I´m done with you, you go back in the box. Please understand, your opinions mean nothing to me. Your political views mean even less. You exist solely in my world for my entertainment.

So please, shut up and dance."

If only it were just an earthquake. We could then just repair some damaged roadways or condemn a couple dozen buildings, then resume our lives. And if that is not repaid by November 10, and it defaults, then the government forces employers to pay it. They just defaulted. The Democrat-Media Complex has gone all in on the propaganda campaign to convince Americans that Donald Trump’s election is illegitimate because “Russia hacked the election.” (snip)But they may have made a fatal overstep with the release of the top-secret report on Russian influence to NBC News. It is crime to share top-secret information with people who do not have the requisite security clearance. DONALD Trump’s plans to move the US embassy in Israel to Jerusalem is a “declaration of war on Muslims”, a close aide of Palestine President Mahmoud Abbas has declared. Donald Trump wants to overturn years of government policy and move the US embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem. Mr Trump’s advisors say the move is a “priority” for the president-elect after his inauguration later this month. But the billionaire businessman’s plans have been criticised by one of Palestine President Mahmoud Abbas’s aides. Mahmoud al-Habash said the proposal to move the embassy is "a declaration of war on Muslims."
