Donald Trump has hit back at Meryl Streep calling her a ´Hillary lover´ after her Golden Globes acceptance speech took aim at the president-elect. Streep, who was honored with the Cecil B. DeMille lifetime achievement award on Sunday, slammed Trump in front of a room of stunned Hollywood stars. She said the moment he mocked and humiliated a disabled reporter ´broke her heart´ as Streep labelled it the year´s most stunning performance. Trump told the New York Times early Monday that he had not seen Streep´s speech or the Golden Globes coverage. Trump told the New York Times early Monday that he

No one loves Hollywood more than Hollywood. As for me, a fly over country deplorable, I will not support anything they churn out. Not one thin dime. That also includes musicians who can´t keep their mouths shut. I am not disputing their right to say such things I just disagree with the venue they chose. But they must remember we do have the power of the purse and it´s time we used a bit of that power. Oh, by the way, do they really think their political commercials really do any good? We can get along without them.

Good to see at least that Meryl is making good use of her later years by making her own dresses out of her living room drapes.

Hollywood is a mutual admiration society. They give each other awards for the ability to memorize lines written by other people.

I´m glad Trump responded to Meryl´s unnecessary and self-serving comments.

Hollywood helped Trump get elected, thanks Hollywood. It amazes why Hollywood trashes 1/2 of their audience, they should know everyone is not a ultra liberal democrat.

Although I appreciate Trump´s angst against the H´wood elites, sometimes a better response to these self adoring dweebs is to just ignore them.

Truthfully, I have never, ever watched the gold-plated globe. I haven´t watched the Oscars since Marlon Brando sent that Indian princess to speak for him. As the other poster expressed, it all about mutual admiration.

Trump was crude in his mocking of a handicapped reporter, and that incident can´t be explained away. But, and there´s always a "but", it is nothing compared to 8 years of Obama & Clinton´s lies, deceptions and law breaking. Why didn´t Streep ask that our next president govern with integrity, honesty and adherence to the law? Or, does Streep believe that crude lies and blatant lawlessness are acceptable if they advance the Democrats´ socialist agenda?

Streep has to realize that she is no longer flying out of Africa on Air Force 2 with Michelle Obama, as the two of them did in 2016.

It´s funny to see the Lefties faux-outrage over Trump´s alleged mocking of a disabled reporter. They all bring it up immediately as their reason to despise Trump, yet the hateful actions of their members are never mentioned.

This goes to the heart of the matter. There is nothing the Hollywood crowd hates more than being thought of a mere ´movie people.´

I watched because my #2 son was visiting, and he is an actor, and wanted to see it.
I thought Meryl Streep´s comments made her sound unbalanced. And, not surprisingly, I didn´t know more than a handful of the people there.
They certainly do like each other, though.

They just can´t get through the day without their Two Minutes Hate against Emmanuel Goldstein, I mean Donald Trump. Somehow, it makes them feel virtuous that they voted for The Felon instead.

I´d call them Leftists. Hollyweird loves the yuuuuge tax breaks provided for them by the Demonrat Party hacks. Perhaps they suspect that their free ride is about to end since they are bitterly clinging to the minority party.

They are the 1%ers who don´t want the general public to know that they intend to hold onto all of their money and have no plan to share it with the less fortunate.

Cripes.Don´t any of these people learn how to research? Trump never mocked that reporter whose arms can´t even move. He uses that gesture to mock everybody who lies. Streep just proved she´s a partisan moron so she should just shut up and act.

"Hollywood is crawling with outsiders and foreigners, and if you kick us all out, you’ll have nothing to watch except for football and mixed martial arts, which are not arts," Streep said, fighting back tears."

Idiot. Streep obviously has never watched NFL Films slow-mo of a football in flight - or watched any Bruce Lee movies.

Reply 19 - Posted by: BeatleJeff, 1/9/2017 8:03:33 AM     (No. 11100777)

If Streep wants to understand why average Americans despise Hollyweird, perhaps she should try researching the role of playing one watching the spoiled, pampered Hollyweird actors endlessly caterwauling about the election results. Perhaps then she might learn that actors are out of touch with reality, don´t have the answers to any of society´s problems, and aren´t always right despite the cadre of brown-nosers they surround themselves with.

Ooooh! The "brave" Hollywood actress takes a stand that will cost her...nothing. She will still get roles, she will still be invited to the parties, she will still be toasted as a Special Person, as she is an artiste! she is soooo above the rabble whom she deigns to "entertain" with her "art."

I´d boycott her films, but I don´t see them anyway. If it doesn´t have Iron Man in it, I´m not interested (yes, I know they´re all liberals, too).

How could they hear her in that chamber with that echo?

I have never liked Streep. She did Sophie´s Choice and all of a sudden she became Hollywood´s queen. She made the comment one time that she was grateful she could make it home at night to tuck in her babies. Her kids were raised by nannies while she was out and about aggrandizing herself. That did it for me.

I voted for Trump specifically because he does fight back. And the "mocking the disabled reporter" story is not true. But the lefty lo-fos don´t know that so their "stars" in Hollywierd and the media keep bringing it up. Kinda like the "Hands up. Don´t shoot" lie.

Did it bother little Meryl when Biden yellled, "Stand up, Chuck!"?

Two things here:
They ACT so offended by Trump´s alleged crude remarks and yet THEY are the Masters of Hate by peddling and promoting disgusting rap lyrics, movies which are often degrading to women and disturbing, unrivaled violence.
Why do they do it? Because they CAN. WE allow it; we enable it. THEY boycott Everything Trump, including the inauguration because they know WE won´t organize to boycott THEM. STOP going to movies. STOP buying their music. STOP playing defense! We have the power to STOP them!
Suppose they held a Golden Globe...and nobody watched.

It disturbs me that there is even one poster left here at lucianne who still buys and peddles this fakestream media lie that DJT "mocked" a disabled reporter. Amazing that anyone here could believe that for even a moment. Isn´t it obvious by now that not a word from the fakestream is ever true?

It is of paramount importance that every fakestream lie be forcefully refuted at every repetition. DJT will never stop fighting this, and neither should any of us.

Didn´t Chevy Chase make his whole career out of mocking President Ford´s "clumsiness" which was really from a trick knee which came from being an All American football player for Michigan? Few knew Ford´s glorious athletic accomplishments, most believed he was a clumsy fool. Such is Hollywood´s respect for Republicans. Fight on, President-elect Trump.

River in Nile time.

According to my eyes and ears, he absolutely did mock the reporter with cerebral palsy and does bear the karma of a lot of rude, crude and cruel things he said and did during the campaign and he should humbly accept the blowback. Unearned criticism is another matter, but this he earned.. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-4100952/Trump-fires-Hillary-lover-Meryl-Streep-Golden-Globes-speech.html

That said, the Hollywood crowd is extremely tiresome with their predictable self-righteous leftist schtick. Also, for some reason I can´t stand Meryl Streep and have always tried to avoid her movies.

Trump is also tiresome with his tweets and it would be refreshing if he would just silence them for a change. If I have to take four more years of this, he will earn my undying disrespect They do feed off his annoyance and responses and I wish he would ignore their provocations once in a while. First of all Mr. Trump. You soon will be sworn in as president. Stay off of Twitter.

It amazes me that these Hollywood types always claim to take the high road, yet they are so rude as to ruin the celebration for the winners by putting their politics into it. Does Meryl forget that Obama made fun of retarded people? She also forgets how corrupt her idol, Hillary, is. Rather, she chooses to ignore it. With the right director, anybody from the street could give performances as good as Meryl Streep or anybody else. She makes more money for one picture than the population of some small towns make in a year and she´s "For the people". Maybe she should have given us a lesson on "Global Warming" since they´re to get 8 to 10 feet of snow on the West Coast.

How much talent does it take to act, really? Before the camera was invented, actors worked a stage in front of a small crowd to earn pennies. The only reason these people make so much money is because the people who watch them are so bored that it makes life seem glamorous to them just by pressing a few buttons on a remote control.

#47 - #53 is right. I suspect the page cited by #26 will change your mind. He mocks spasticity as part of mocking anybody being discombobulated (including himself). And #23 is dead on target: Some of Hollyweird´s most beloved comic actors had mocking spasticity as a central part of their spiel. It may not be praise-worthy, but DJT is absolutely neither alone in doing it, nor even close to the worst offender. [But it´s clear he was not making fun of the reporter´s cerebral palsy with that gesticulation that´s being condemned]

Let´s boikot all their movies, especially if taking in consideration the good movies do not come often. Let´s them go to the movie theaters and watch each others.

Vice president-elect Mike Pence made his official D.C. debut on Monday afternoon, flying into the Washington area from Indiana on an official plane with his family - and their beloved pets. Arriving at Joint Base Andrews in Prince George´s County, Maryland, Pence, 57, his wife Karen, 58, and their daughter Charlotte, 22, made their way off the Air Force plane into the cold, blustery weather. But the most important passengers were the family´s three pets: cats Oreo and Pickle, and rabbit Marlon Bundo. Hillary Clinton returns to Washington – and to the site of her last government gig – to celebrate the completion of new museum space at the State Department. Clinton will be joined by other secretaries at an opening ceremony for the U.S. Diplomacy Center Pavilion, a 40,000-foot addition to the Foggy Bottom compound, where members of the public can learn about American diplomacy through artifacts and simulations. One of the four exhibition halls will be named after Clinton who, according to the Washington Post, revived the project when she was at the helm of the State Department, tasking Clinton donor and pal

Barack Obama raved about his two daughters as he reflected on their White House upbringing in an interview on Sunday. The president looked back at the past eight years and explained how they have shaped Sasha and Malia, who are now respectively 15 and 18. The girls were just 7 and 10 when they first moved into 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. Obama and his wife Michelle worried at first that they would ´develop an attitude´ - but the commander-in-chief told ABC News´ ´This Week´ he had watched them grow instead into ´sweet, kind, funny, smart, respectful people´ who ´treat everybody with

Republicans are moving as quickly as they can to approve President-elect Donald Trump´s Cabinet. Really, really quickly. Here´s how quickly: They´ve planned at least nine confirmation hearings this week — and as many as five in one day. Republicans are moving so quickly that Democrats — unable to block these nominees by procedural moves — have been crying foul, holding up as evidence a warning by a federal watchdog on Friday that it can´t vet all the nominees in time. “The transition team’s collusion with Senate Republicans to jam through these Cabinet nominees before they’ve been thoroughly vetted is unprecedented,"

An iconic 137-year-old sequioa tree best known for a trailway dug through its base in California has been destroyed by a winter storm. The feature in the Calaveras Big Trees State Park was 150 feet tall and had a massive 33-foot diameter. Photos stretching as far back as the late nineteenth century show people walking through and staring up at its trunk. The enormous tree has remained a hit for visitors who even today post pictures of it on social media. Many over the years have etched their names into its bark. “This iconic and still living tree—the tunnel tree—enchanted

Turning attention away from her and toward Donald J. Trump, Meryl Streep used her acceptance speech for the Cecil B. DeMille Award at the Golden Globes to call out the president-elect for appearing to mock a disabled New York Times reporter in 2015, and warned that a free press would need to be defended. Ms. Streep campaigned for Hillary Clinton in the 2016 election. Some conservative commentators immediately criticized her decision to bring politics so vividly into the show. But the room roundly applauded her remarks, which included a plea to support the Committee to Protect Journalists.

Professor Michael Eric Dyson thinks that white people should have an ‘Individual Reparations Account’ to make donations to black institutions and individuals. (Snip) I agree with reparations, but maybe this is my white privilege speaking: I can’t imagine actually doing that. That is what I meant by an I.R.A.: an individual reparations account. You ain’t got to ask the government, you don’t have to ask your local politician — this is what you, an individual, conscientious, “woke” citizen can do. But charity can’t be the end of it, right? The Koch brothers gave the United Negro College Fund $25 million, but I

She is among the most famous and easily recognized women in the world, but first lady Michelle Obama feels "invisible" when she steps off her official stage, according to her best friend and ally in the White House. And the reason is a remarkable one considering that she and her husband, President Obama, are America´s first African-American presidential couple. According to top adviser Valerie Jarrett, Obama is invisible because she is black. In her new book about the importance of black mothers in America and how they walk a tightrope in society, White House correspondent April Ryan revealed that Jarrett

The Gold Star father who blasted Donald Trump at the Democratic convention this summer is returning to the national stage this week, firing off a letter demanding the Senate reject Sen. Jeff Sessions, Mr. Trump’s attorney general nominee. Khizr Khan, the Pakistan-born father of a U.S. Army captain killed in the Iraq war, said his son’s service was a rejection of people like Mr. Sessions, who he accused of associating with racially divisive and ‘intensely anti-Muslim” groups. Mr. Khan also said Mr. Sessions has defended proposals “that would single Muslim immigrants out for discriminatory treatment on the basis of their religious beliefs.” “My

President Barack Obama taunted Republican lawmakers Friday as they prepared to gut his "signature legislative achievement" ObamaCare. During an online interview with left-wing White House echo-chamber "explainer" website Vox, Obama snidely said that he would publicly support repealing "Obamacare" if Republicans could come up with something better, but expressed doubt that the GOP would be able to manage it. "Now is the time that Republicans have to go ahead and show their cards," the president said. "If in fact, they have a program that would genuinely work better, and they want to call it whatever they want -- they can

Sunday on NBC’s “Meet the Press,” Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) said any Republican celebrating Russia’s hacking into the 2016 presidential election were “making a huge mistake” and described them as a “political hack.” Graham said, “To my Republican friends who are gleeful, you’re making a huge mistake. When when Wikileaks released information during the Bush years about the Iraq War that was embarrassing to the administration, that put our troops at risk most Democrats condemned it, some celebrated it. Most Republicans are condemning what Russia did and to those who are gleeful it you’re a political hack. You’re not a
