Newspaper unearths 19th-century
discrepancy about alleged lynching

PITTSBURGH - For more than a century, the death of David Pierce has been a stain on Western Pennsylvania as the only victim of a lynching in the region. The African American man was said to have shot and killed Sanford White, a white superintendent of a coke works near Dunbar, Fayette County, on the morning of Dec. 19, 1899, after Mr. White intervened during a fight between Mr. Pierce and another white coke executive, Richard Cunningham. Pierce was described as a "Negro" and a "dangerous character" in the initial news report that went out over the telegraph coast to

Proves the NYTimes has been publishing "fake news" since at least 1899.

Interesting story to read over lunch.

Well, well well. Fake news to support a ´narrative´ is it?

What do those people get out of picking at a wound and keeping it from healing? Race mongers?

Meanwhile, Planned Parenhood snuffs out more Black lives in New York City alone over the course of one year than all the lynchings since the end of the Civil War.

Let´s take a look at who was originally compiling these lists of "lynchings"... Tuskegee, the NAACP, the Chicago Tribune.

Like today´s Southern Poverty Law Center and similar "civil rights" outfits, they have no need or particular desire to be factual and truthful, especially if it does not advance the "racist, unjust" meme that is the heart of their purpose.

Historians who say things like "a thorough examination would find many more cases that were never reported on those old lists" are guessing, creating prophesies begging their fulfillment.

Perhaps these same academics will one day enlighten "bigoted America" and the world with a list of bogus "hate crimes" perpetrated to rile race relations. Anyone following this site sees such nearly weekly - swastikas, nooses, nasty notes left for wait staff, arson fires, etc. etc.

Interesting. I always assumed when a lynching was mentioned, that they were talking about a hanging. If a lynching is when three or more people take the law into their own hands and kill someone, then the Old West was a hotbed of lynching. It had nothing to do with race, however. For decades, there was "no law west of the pecos," and stealing cattle or especially a horse was a hanging offense, carried out immediately. God forbid if you molested a woman. Seems more civilized than what we have now in liberal cities.

Well, it could have happened...

What grabbed my attention in this was the following paragraph:
The mistaken case of Pierce´s lynching apparently occurred because the initial news report, appearing in print as soon as the afternoon papers on the day White died, relied on second- or thirdhand accounts of what happened. That became the story of record, despite later stories in the Pittsburgh papers that got most of the facts correct.

Sounds kind of like the way "hands up don´t shoot", "I can´t breathe", and many of the other incidents last year evolved.

So the media mis-reporting of incidents in the rush to be first seems not to be a new phenomenon; though the social-media-inflamed riots and BLM assassinations of cops seem new...

While the Tuskegee Institute/University is working on their list of lynching victims, I hope they delve into the role of Southern Democrats in these crimes against African-Americans.

Also, the Tuskegee Institute/University itself was part of a horrific "study" of men infected with syphilis - 399 men (plus infected wives and children) all because Tuskegee would not inform the men or provide treatment when treatment was readily available after penicillin was found to help (in 1947). This was a 40 year study, from 1932 to 1972.

In total, the cost of the the first family’s personal or largely personal travel during the last eight years comes to $85 million – though that is likely to climb to $90 million after additional records are released, according to the conservative group Judicial Watch based on federal government records. Last week, the Obama administration put the finishing touches on a new policy that would deprive recipients of disability insurance and Supplemental Security Income (SSI) of their Second Amendment rights. The administration will now characterize those citizens as "mental defectives," thereby having their ability to own a firearm subject to the federal Gun Control Act. Supplemental Security Income helps blind, disabled, and elderly people with little to no income. Previously, it was understood that "mentally defective" referred to one´s mental health. Citizens who have been institutionalized against their will are restricted from owning a firearm. The new definition of "mentally

JERUSALEM -- A senior Israeli Cabinet minister on Wednesday called U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry´s planned Mideast policy speech a "pathetic step," further heightening tensions between the two close allies as the Obama administration prepares to leave office. The comments by Public Security Minister Gilad Erdan were the latest salvo in a toxic exchange following the U.S.´s refusal to veto a U.N. Security Council resolution last week that called Israeli settlements in the West Bank and east Jerusalem a violation of international law. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has slammed the resolution, and accused the U.S. of colluding with

Any honest man, looking back on a very long life, must admit -- even if only to himself -- being a relic of a bygone era. Having lived long enough to have seen both "the greatest generation" that fought World War II and the gratingest generation that we see all around us today, makes being a relic of the past more of a boast than an admission. Not everything in the past was admirable. Poet W.H. Auden called the 1930s "a low dishonest decade." So were the 1960s, which launched many of the trends we are experiencing so painfully today.

Apparently Kevin Williamson at National Review has jumped over that deadly lemming cliff, along with millions of Trump-maddened New York liberals. Williamson writes in NR today that "My own view is that Donald and Ivanka and Uday and Qusay are genuinely bad human beings and that the American public has made a grave error in entrusting its highest office to this cast of American Psycho extras. That a major political party was captured by these cretins suggests that its members are not worthy of the blessings of this republic..."

As night follows day, I knew Monday’s sentencing of Congressman Chaka Fattah to 10 years in prison would generate a firestorm of comments implicating the Inquirer and Daily News in Fattah´s betrayal of the public trust. Sure enough, when Fattah’s sentence was announced, the Philly.com commentariat declared that both news outlets should be hanging our heads in shame because, after all, we endorsed him! I can’t tell how how many times this response – Your fault! You endorsed him/her! — dominates the comments sections of stories detailing the latest lawmaker to be indicted or sentenced on corruption charges. Actually, that’s

This is almost unbelievable; liberals are still in mourning over Hillary Clinton’s Election Day loss to Donald Trump. A sociology professor at Yale named Jeffrey Alexander was interviewed by CBS News and said the following about the American liberals post-Trump’s victory: For the more liberal half of the United States, nothing rocked its sense of order more than the November election of Donald Trump as the 45th president. And because of that event, Alexander believes that thousands of Democrats are now experiencing symptoms we generally associate with personal trauma. “They have stopped smiling. They feel like crying. WASHINGTON -- Senate Minority Whip Dick Durbin (D-Ill.) vowed last week to spend the new year and new Congress pushing for a “one person, one vote” scrapping of the electoral college. Durbin acknowledges this won´t come easily with a Republican House, Senate and White House, so he´s hoping a state-by-state workaround does the trick. By the time the last votes in the presidential election were counted this month, Hillary Clinton had 65,844,610, nearly as many as President Obama received in 2012, compared to Donald Trump’s 62,979,636, making the final gap 2,864,974 votes. Other candidates received 7,804,213 votes. The final electoral college vote was

Since Election Day, one of the favorite pastimes of the media has been to catch a glimpse of the person who was expected to be our President-elect. Following her shocking loss to Donald Trump, Hillary Clinton has largely stayed out of the public eye, making only a handful of appearances, such as Harry Reid’s portrait unveiling and a party for the millionaires who donated to her campaign. With that in mind, we’ve been left largely with images snapped of Clinton by those who live in Chappaqua, New York, where Hillary resides. We’ve seen photos of her shopping and walking in
