Obama Administration Yanks Second
Amendment Rights from SSI Recipients

PJ Media, by Liz Sheld

Last week, the Obama administration put the finishing touches on a new policy that would deprive recipients of disability insurance and Supplemental Security Income (SSI) of their Second Amendment rights. The administration will now characterize those citizens as "mental defectives," thereby having their ability to own a firearm subject to the federal Gun Control Act. Supplemental Security Income helps blind, disabled, and elderly people with little to no income. Previously, it was understood that "mentally defective" referred to one´s mental health. Citizens who have been institutionalized against their will are restricted from owning a firearm. The new definition of "mentally

And why stop at one Amendment?
Why not just bash older Americans over their heads and take all their rights?

#2, the Soviet Union used "mental illness" to justify incarcerating political enemies. It appears that the soon-to-be-gone administration is taking a page out of that playbook.

I don´t think this will stand Constitutional scrutiny, but the fact that zer0 and his cohorts are trying it is instructive.

Not so #7.

The phrase ´pro-forma´ is derived from Latin, meaning ´formality.´

Congress doesn’t consider itself adjourned or on recess if it’s ´meeting´ every three days. And that’s all it takes to block a recess appointment for the rest of the president’s term.

indicate how they can, and should, sue any/all who were complicate in this decision for violation of their Civil Rights.

So am I, drawing SSI early, but not ´disabled´, subject to this unconstitutional overreach, or is it just for the ´disabled´ who depend on it for their existence?

Casablanca isn´t only one of the most beloved movies of all time; it´s also one of the most written-about movies of all time. Noah Isenberg, director of screen studies and professor of culture and media at the New School, does a good job of synthesizing all of that writing in We´ll Always Have Casablanca. Junkies might not find a lot of new insights, but the book is a hugely readable and entertaining look at how Casablanca came to be, and how it came to be such an indelible part of American pop culture. Do you remember that “day without immigrants” protest that we talked about last week? It took place as predicted (and in fact demanded by activist organizers on the left). But in at least one location in Tennessee some of the participants learned a rapid and likely lasting lesson about the intersection of free speech and personal responsibility. Bradley Coatings, Inc. found out at the last minute that their tightly packed customer schedule was going to go up in flames when nearly 20 of their employees announced with roughly 12 hours notice that they would be taking part in the poorly
