Obama Administration Yanks Second
Amendment Rights from SSI Recipients

Last week, the Obama administration put the finishing touches on a new policy that would deprive recipients of disability insurance and Supplemental Security Income (SSI) of their Second Amendment rights. The administration will now characterize those citizens as "mental defectives," thereby having their ability to own a firearm subject to the federal Gun Control Act. Supplemental Security Income helps blind, disabled, and elderly people with little to no income. Previously, it was understood that "mentally defective" referred to one´s mental health. Citizens who have been institutionalized against their will are restricted from owning a firearm. The new definition of "mentally

If this turns out to be real as opposed to "fake," it will never stand up in the courts.

“Mental defective” people stripped of their rights? Now why does that make me think "Nazi"?

Why all the pretense?
And why stop at one Amendment?
Why not just bash older Americans over their heads and take all their rights?

#2, the Soviet Union used "mental illness" to justify incarcerating political enemies. It appears that the soon-to-be-gone administration is taking a page out of that playbook.

I don´t think this will stand Constitutional scrutiny, but the fact that zer0 and his cohorts are trying it is instructive.

I think Congress is in recess which means BO can (and will) use a Recess Appointment and put in the next Supreme Court Justice which gives the liberals the deciding vote.

Not so #7.

The phrase ´pro-forma´ is derived from Latin, meaning ´formality.´

Congress doesn’t consider itself adjourned or on recess if it’s ´meeting´ every three days. And that’s all it takes to block a recess appointment for the rest of the president’s term.

o tried it anyway earlier and the Supremes slapped him down.

If you depend on the government, they own you. SSI is one example, but food stampers should definitely not be allowed to have guns, smoke, drink, or even vote. And drug tests should be frequent and thorough. You live on the government plantation, you live like a slave.

Trump administration should contact every SSI recipient, and let them know how the Democrats classified them, and took away their 2nd amendment rights.

indicate how they can, and should, sue any/all who were complicate in this decision for violation of their Civil Rights.

But, ensure to write the letter illustrating how this was done by Democrats.

Hold it a second. I read this article. The entirety of Social Security is SSI - Supplemental Security Income. It was never designed to be a pension, just a supplement. So am I, drawing SSI early, but not ´disabled´, subject to this unconstitutional overreach, or is it just for the ´disabled´ who depend on it for their existence?

JERUSALEM -- A senior Israeli Cabinet minister on Wednesday called U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry´s planned Mideast policy speech a "pathetic step," further heightening tensions between the two close allies as the Obama administration prepares to leave office. The comments by Public Security Minister Gilad Erdan were the latest salvo in a toxic exchange following the U.S.´s refusal to veto a U.N. Security Council resolution last week that called Israeli settlements in the West Bank and east Jerusalem a violation of international law. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has slammed the resolution, and accused the U.S. of colluding with

Any honest man, looking back on a very long life, must admit -- even if only to himself -- being a relic of a bygone era. Having lived long enough to have seen both "the greatest generation" that fought World War II and the gratingest generation that we see all around us today, makes being a relic of the past more of a boast than an admission. Not everything in the past was admirable. Poet W.H. Auden called the 1930s "a low dishonest decade." So were the 1960s, which launched many of the trends we are experiencing so painfully today.

As night follows day, I knew Monday’s sentencing of Congressman Chaka Fattah to 10 years in prison would generate a firestorm of comments implicating the Inquirer and Daily News in Fattah´s betrayal of the public trust. Sure enough, when Fattah’s sentence was announced, the Philly.com commentariat declared that both news outlets should be hanging our heads in shame because, after all, we endorsed him! I can’t tell how how many times this response – Your fault! You endorsed him/her! — dominates the comments sections of stories detailing the latest lawmaker to be indicted or sentenced on corruption charges. Actually, that’s

The Era of Trump might be over before it begins. Former U.S. Rep. Chaka Fattah was sentenced to 10 years in prison Monday, one of the longest terms of incarceration ever imposed on a member of Congress convicted of federal corruption crimes. Addressing the court, the West Philadelphia Democrat expressed regret for some of the decisions he had made and how his conviction had affected his co-defendants and constituents, but stopped short of fully acknowledging his guilt. "The investigation and the trial has been the most disappointing event in my now 60-year life," he told U.S. District Judge Harvey Bartle III. "I´ve helped tens of millions of people and that

This is almost unbelievable; liberals are still in mourning over Hillary Clinton’s Election Day loss to Donald Trump. And because of that event, Alexander believes that thousands of Democrats are now experiencing symptoms we generally associate with personal trauma. “They have stopped smiling. They feel like crying. WASHINGTON -- Senate Minority Whip Dick Durbin (D-Ill.) vowed last week to spend the new year and new Congress pushing for a “one person, one vote” scrapping of the electoral college. Durbin acknowledges this won´t come easily with a Republican House, Senate and White House, so he´s hoping a state-by-state workaround does the trick. By the time the last votes in the presidential election were counted this month, Hillary Clinton had 65,844,610, nearly as many as President Obama received in 2012, compared to Donald Trump’s 62,979,636, making the final gap 2,864,974 votes. Other candidates received 7,804,213 votes. The final electoral college vote was

Secretary of State John Kerry took direct aim at Israel in a major speech on Wednesday, forcefully criticizing its Jewish settlement expansion and demanding "mutual respect" from the key U.S. ally. Kerry slammed the Israeli government for displacing Palestinian families and depriving them of "basic freedom and dignity," while expressing serious concern about current Israeli leaders´ opposition to a two-state solution. The top diplomat responded to accusations that the U.S. snubbed its ally last Friday by declining to veto a United Nations Security Council resolution that demanded Israel halt its settlement program, claiming the Obama administration acted with its ally´s best interest
